The Salt Mines were brilliant and a wonderful experienc. However, the transport to them was not made clear. When I booked, it gave me the option of a pick up point and I put in my hotel. When the confirmation email came through, it advised of the pick up point (the hotel) and the time. The night before the trip, I got a whatsapp message statting we had to be at the Central bus station for pick up. I replied (as did a few others) that our pick up location was the hotel, and your agent Yosuf said no. I sent him a sreen shot of the email, and he said he couldnt check until the next morning? I thten had to go to bed not knowing how or where I was being collected, coudnt book a taxi as he was to get back to me, after having this booked for a few weeks. He then sent a snooty message tht we ha to go to the bus station. When we got to the station we got on the bus. When everyone was on the bus and we started to move away he started checking our tickets. When he came to us, he said "Oh you are here? I thought you were not coming" Why would he just assume that. He was very unprofessional and we wont use this company again as the trip was falsle advertising. The salt mine itself is amazing.

The salt mines were very interesting and the guide was very informative. I bought the package that included hotel pickup to avoid any stress of getting to/from the cental bus station north of center city where the group bus went to the mine. Everything was smooth until the very end of the tour when we were all taken back to the central bus station and told that our tickets did NOT include being dropped back at our hotels. Really?!
Great place to visit, my gripe with the booking was it didn't include the entry fee which it didn't mention when booking so had to pay the tour bus guide the extra which was £55 for two people. There we're many other people on the coach who were in the same situation . Our guide in the mines was very good I think her name was Martina.
Well organised pick up, good communication before and during the trip.
Felt rushed, to bigger group also no time to take it all in.
Damien was a great host and the pick up at the hotel was spot on.
I expected an entry ticket and a guided tour. I got a hotel pick up and a guided tour, but not an entry ticket. I specifically selected the option without a hotel pickup. The day before the booking, my booking time choice was cancelled by the operator and instead of being at 10am on my checkout day, I was told it was going to be at 8am. After multiple attempts to figure out what was going on, via 3 separate WhatsApp phone numbers, it was eventually discussed that no entry ticket was provided, and it was less than 24 hours before commencement, as such no refund was available. We eventually got offered a place on a later time slot (10:15, go figure). Which we could attend. The travel to Wieliczka mines was from the bus station, not a hotel. But otherwise the people doing their job on the ground were great. The operators however, should have their listing's removed and asked to write exactly what it is that people are paying for, and what might happen if they don't have filled booking slots.
Yusuf kept us informed and was sincerely interested in our well being throughout the experience. Highly recommended.
Get very specific pickup directions as it can be a bit confusing but our driver was very helpful on whatsapp.
A great day -enjoyed the fantastic experience of this iconic place. Well worth seeing -a must do if you visit Krakow. Highly Recommend.
Be prepared for a long tour on your feet, mostly going downstairs. Great exhibitions of talent and engineering. Also a holy and religious place. Our guide was great and very informative. Organization on transport , pick up was confusing, but it all worked out. Thank goodness we all took the lift back to the top ( no climbing) and of course, I purchased a small bag of salt
Such an amazing site to visit, beautiful mine with extraordinary intricate salt sculptures, chandeliers, and chapels. The mine itself is remarkable! Unfortunately, the communication, transportation and tour with Discover Cracow were a huge disappointment. We requested hotel pickup and dropoff and submitted our hotel address. We were notified of an additional transportation fee due to our hotel location, which we agreed to. Sadly, we sat in front of our hotel waiting for transfer at the designated pickup time and no one arrived or communicated with us. After 30 minutes of waiting and no communication, we reached out to someone through WhatsApp who boldly told us we were at the wrong hotel, and there would be no pickup. They eventually recognized their error and located a taxi for our transportation. We arrived at the salt mine without further communication from our tour guide. Our tour was informational, but our tour guide ended the tour prematurely, and left us to find our way back to the designated gathering location, which caused some of our group to become lost. We eventually found our way to the bus for transportation back to our hotel. We were shocked to be dropped off at the bus depot, not at our hotel as previously arranged. Not only were we now at an unknown and unexpected location, but we were verbally abused by Oliwia, the tour guide, who told us it was our fault. We had to coordinate our own transportation back to our hotel. This was overall a sour experience and huge disappointment.
It was stunning. The tour was very interesting and the guide was amazing. It’s a lot of steps and I was exhausted by the end but would definitely recommend this tour.
I booked the tour through Viator and arranged a pickup time for the next day. I was subsequently messaged by a company I’d never heard of altering that time. Viator should have told me who was actually operating the tour to avoid any confusion. The tour was just ok as the guides English was difficult to understand at times.
The Salt mines are.a definite must see when you are in Krakow. Value for money.
Really interesting and some beautiful sites BUT there were 39 people in our group this is to many you could not always hear what your guide was saying as the headset cut out You almost had to run round so the group behind did not catch you up try and pick a quieter time to visit
We had to wait 15 minutes for someone who was late and then didn’t show up and made us behind on everything else that day. Appreciate they couldn’t control this but it made two passengers leave as they were worried about getting back on time. The actual salt mines were amazing but the system this had was a bit unorganised and we didn’t get any time to have anything to eat there as we had arrived late and then they were conscious of getting back on time. Which was disappointing as we felt rushed and couldn’t experience the area as much as we like to after
This is just the transportation not the actual ticket to the mines, Poorly communicated, an uber would of been cheaper than the bus
Trip to mine good, guide with bus very informative, however 20 mins late leaving to get to mine due to late arrivals. You get a different guide at the mine who was very good, but large groups and we were rushed around. A bit disappointing as felt we did not get to see things at times or have time to enjoy the mine due to being rushed
Such a wonderful place to visit. It’s amazing to see the talents the miners possessed. It’s a must see! Caution: lots of stairs (360) going down and lots of walking. Also watch out for the exits. If you miss exit 1, you have to walk a 1/4 mile to the next exit and that much going back to your car.
The salt mines tour was fantastic, the tour itself was very enjoyable, however discover krakow the provider wasn't there at our booking time so we couldn't find our guide, no clear sign posting like board or umbrella. I had to make calls to trace the guide. Eventually, she called me, and we located her.
Salt mines are great! Had a dedicated guide to our group and a guide from the salt mine so meant good knowledge. Transfer and guide makes it easy to get too and from. Pau was our guide and she was very helpful
We had the most amazing day. The Salt Mine was breathtakingly beautiful one can go there and not marvel is the wowness this place gives. Our guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and made the whole experience AMAZING
Great time - Discover Craców is a spectacular vendor. We received a bit of a different time than what Viator gave us so make sure you have your WhatsApp ready to double check what time your Salt Mine Tour is. We ended up arriving about 90 minutes ahead of time and one of the Discover Craców folks, Norbert, gave us a private tour of the above ground portion of Wieliczka while we waited for our tour time. Really appreciated his time and learned a great deal. The mines were spectacular and gorgeous - just be ready for a lot of walking!
Very bad comunication with operator. I lost the atraction and had to purchase another ticket on site.
Booked with Discover crakow and was picked up promptly by the lovely Ilona. She was very friendly, very informative and extremely helpful. Went above and beyond, recommended places to go and recommendations did not disappoint
Had a great time in the salt mine and added to by Ilona our very informative driver. Highly recommend
Definitely for people of a reasonable fitness level a must to visit. The church was absolutely amazing!
A great trip and well planned with on time and comfy transport. Ilona was very informative and gave us a great journey to and from the salt mines. The guide around the salt mines was excellent and made the trip very smooth. We were here for 3-4 hours and there was a lot of walking so wear comfy shoes and a lot of steps!! Tickets retrieved at the door with earphone pieces. Busy in December so always pre book before your trip.
Ilona was amazing! She was on time for pick up and made sure we had details of where to find her after our tour. During the ride to the salt mines she pointed out historical locations and taught us about Krakow. Ilona also had amazing recommendations for local food and fun!
A wonderful experience at the salt mines and a very friendly and professional tour organiser and driver, Ilona. She made getting there and returning so simple and communicated with us really well.
Our driver Ilona was fantastic, brilliant English and really helpful. Gave us some brilliant recommendations for food and things to do. Will be booking her again when we come back.
An absolutely worthwhile experience. Our tour guide from Discover Krakow, Kate, was very well organised and efficient. The bus driver was quite loud and swearing on the phone which was unpleasant. However, the best part of the tour was the mine tour guide, Marek, who was very knowledgeable and funny and made the experience very enjoyable despite the many many steps.
This was an interesting tour. Met by Kate, our bus guide, who escorted us to the mine. Please note there are a lot of steps to negotiate to get down (first set of stairs there was 320) so you may struggle if you have knee issues. The tour inside was with a guide from the actual mine who spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable. It was quite warm in the mine about 14 degrees, I had to take my coat off. The tour was quite long, approx 2 hours walking with the chance of a couple small rests. Luckily exit from the mine was by lift. I'd recommend this tour but just be mindful of your mobility.
Wonderful visit to the salt mines, a truly memorable and magical experience we won't forget. Our trip was organized by Kate who was really helpful, the day before she set up a Whatsapp group and made herself available to us at any time if we had questions. She was fun and knowledgeable and made the whole day so easy. The guide inside the mine was Mark and he clearly knew everything about the site - the history, architecture and geology - he delivered a fantastic tour and provided lots of laughs along the way. Highly recommended.
Great day out. Fantastic sights to see. Return lifts where cramped and door would hardly open due to my wife!!! 😳 Thanks to Kate.
Spent a fantastic few hours, a must see, extremely well organised, guides very informative and good value for money. Don’t miss it!
Had a lovely time at the salt mines and our tour leader Kate was very friendly and helpful… thank you Kate There are lots of steps down to the mine so wear comfortable shoes
A lot of walking but well worth it for a fantastic experience, guides very informative, Alex and Kate. Don't think you're at the lift when you're at the finish barriers ,there's a mile of walking still. Over all great experience
Had such an amazing time at the salt mines. Highly recommend for other tourists this is a must see spot. Our guide up and back on the bus and around the town was Kate. She was so lovely and very professional. She knew her stuff and was really accommodating. She also pointed out historical spots on the way up and explained them which was very cool. Our tour guide for the actual mines was Erik and he was so funny and really made the tour with his jokes. We will definitely be coming back to the salt mines again 💗
Kate was brilliant looking out for us and keeping in contact. The trips we did were great perfect communication and very helpful
We were very happy with the service from Discovery Cracow. It was an intense and deeply meaningful day, and we learned so much during our visits to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Salt Mine. Our driver, Ilona, was incredibly professional and caring—she made sure everyone felt comfortable and was always ready to help. The whole trip was very well organized, and we didn’t have to worry about anything. We truly appreciated the experience and would highly recommend this agency to anyone visiting.
Fantastic tour of the salt mines, such an impressive place. Kate, our guide from Discover Cracow was very knowledgeable about the mines and the surrounding area and made sure we were where we needed to be. Be aware if you are with a tour group that the queue for the lift back to the surface can be long, and the walk after that to the lift takes around 15-20 minutes. Kate was there to meet us to make sure we got back to the coach though. Great tour and great tour company! Would use again
Kate our guide was great and Informative. The video of the way to the meeting point after exiting the mine was so useful. The mine was amazing, as advertised theres alot of steps and alot of walking. Would definitely recommend.
Great experience, Kate was a knowledgable host and the tour ran very efficiently with the tour guide being knowledgeable and structured.
Clear comms and good pick up point. Friendly, informative and good meet up instructions from our guide Kate. Great tour of the salt mines ably lead by Anna who covered all the history and development of the site. Would recommend
The salt mines were incredible, a unique experience that I would highly recommend. Our guide Kate did an excellent job and made the tour go smoothly.
Kate was great, she was very informative, we had a great time in the amazing salt mine, would recommend this trip, well organised
Great tour guide Kate very friendly and efficient. Explained everything well and was informative making the pick up experience itself and drop off very good
Trip to the Salt Mine is amazing and an absolute must go to tour while in Krakow. Our rep was Kate who was extremely friendly and helpful and caring abd was clearly a professional guide. My only criticism of the booking process is the WhatsApp text you get 2 days before the trip mentioned that we would get a text the following day at 5pm confirming the exact time and location and bus number etc. We never received that text and it left us wondering if all was ok. Having text company at 1830 hrs I did get a reply telling us to use the booked time and location. It’s just a shame I had to ask.
