Really good experience. Reliable transport and Jurek was very kind and polite. A lot of walking and a full day out. Would highly recommend

Itinerary
Our tour starts with transportation from Krakow, either from your specified hotel or a meeting point of your choice. Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is located in Oswiecim, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away (65 km). All of our drivers hold the necessary EU certifications for passenger transport. A friendly, English-speaking group leader will be available to assist you whenever needed. Upon arriving in Oswiecim, you'll have a brief break to grab a coffee or explore the outdoor exhibits. Afterward, you'll be introduced to a professional local guide, licensed by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
Begin your tour by walking through the gate of Auschwitz I, the first camp, initially established as a concentration camp for Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939. You'll pass under the infamous sign "Arbeit Macht Frei" (Work Makes You Free). This portion of the tour typically lasts two hours, during which you'll use a headset to hear your guide clearly. The group size is limited to 30 people, as per the Museum's regulations, ensuring a comfortable and accessible experience for all participants. Explore the original wooden barracks, fortified walls, barbed wire fences, gas chambers, and crematoria, which together leave a haunting impression and allow visitors to grasp the immense scale of the Holocaust.
After visiting the first camp, you'll have a short break of up to 15 minutes. Following this, we will take you to the second part of the tour—Birkenau (Auschwitz II), located just 3 minutes away. Birkenau, the largest camp, was built and operated with the sole purpose of making Europe "Judenrein" (free of Jews). Your guide will continue the powerful narrative at Birkenau, located in the village of Brzezinka. Constructed in 1941 under the orders of SS commander Heinrich Himmler, the camp could hold around 90,000 prisoners. You’ll hear harrowing accounts of the brutal living conditions, the cruel selection process, and the pseudo-scientific medical experiments carried out by Nazi doctors, including Josef Mengele.
At the end of the tour, you won’t be rushed. You’ll have at short break to simply rest. After another 1 hour and 15 minutes of travel, you will be taken to a designated address in Krakow.

Had a somber but eye-opening experience at Auschwitz 1 and 2, though there were lots of walking. Length of visit was just right with an English speaking guide who was clear and knowledgeable. Admission fees were all included in the package. Mr T who was our Krakow-Direct driver was very friendly and helpful with his recommendations and drop off locations.
This was one of the easiest tour organization wise I have ever been on Pawel was kind, considerate, and just so smart and knowledgeable, he told you where the entrance was the toilets were the cafe told you find facts along the way, allowed you to just enjoy your day! It’s a hard day very heavy topic but Pawel just made it so enjoyable and the tour guide was so incredibly smart one of the best tour guides I have ever had! Such a lovely women, well paced and overall just a 10/10 experience ❤️
It's an emotional experience. It's along day and involves quite a bit of walking and stairs which is fine unless you have limited mobility. Our coach travel was excellent - warm, comfortable, clean and very professional driver who kept us informed every step of the way. Guides at the site were informative and the tone was appropriately somber given the sensitivity of what we were visiting.
Great value for money. Driver polite and helpful. Gave us all the imformation as and when needed. Would recommend
Adam was very knowledgeable, the subject was dealt with sensitively and was very interesting.
A well organised day to Auschwitz with Bart. He kept us well informed of what was going to happen over the day. Comfortable bus also.
Excellent company. Well organized. Outstanding guide!
Excellent communication from Krakow Direct well organised , coach driver Bart was excellent with his organisation and communication definetly a credit to the company
Barr was great. Very polite and kind. Kept us updated along the way and was super helpful. Would highly recommend
Excellent, well organised tour. Walker was a reassuring, informed driver who ensured that everyone was clear about the structure of the visit. very good guide at the museum. she was calm and very knowledgeable.
Great experience with Adam. Very friendly.
It is a very sobering experience, but one I would fully recommend. It is and always will be something that we should not forget…… the past matters and it is history. Our tour guide was very informative, patient and professional. Our driver was punctual, professional and looked after us from the start-end of tour. Thank you for making our experience the best possible under the circumstances.
Kris was an excellent driver and gave interesting information between our tours of Auschwitz and Auschwitz II Birkenau. Drive was comfortable and lunchbox was much better than expected. Only minor issue was that at booking pickup was specified as 6:00, when on the day it was 10:15, I wont complain about a later start but it did effect my planning.
Both the driver and the guide made for a very special experience of such a delicate tour
Great experience, good guide
Really well organised trip, good communication regarding meeting points and times, our driver was very helpful and informative, the guide at Auschwitz was very knowledgeable - I have booked another trip based on my experience today
I would really recommend booking a tour with this company as it was really informative and interesting. The guide (Rafal) was really knowledgeable and knew his history and was set at a very good pace. The driver Adam K picked us up on time from our hotel and was very informative about how our trip was set out, he was very polite and helpful with any questions that we asked. I would highly recommend booking a tour with this company. 👍👍👍👍
The trip itself was very good but the hotel pickup didn't happen. We were given a different hotel as the meeting point the day before the trip and also instead of 7am pickup it was 0.5.35. This meant getting up at 4.30am. I complained to the travel company, Krakow Direct, and argued our case but got nowhere. This is not what I paid for!
Our experience was incredible from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel for an early morning start and transported to a nearby location to jump on the bus. We were provided all information in advance, including pick up and driver information. On the way to Auschwitz we were played a documentary to provide everyone introductory information on the camps, and history. Our driver Łukasz S kept us informed about what to expect, organised our tickets and group throughout the day, including keeping us updated via a WhatsApp message with any changes. The tour itself was a confronting experience due to the nature of the subject matter, but our tour guide handled it with incredible professionalism, knowledge and respect. We unfortunately had a few members of our group that at times spoke over our driver and tour guide, and kept the group waiting. Whilst this was frustrating, the team handled this completely professionally without detracting from the experience for others. As a side note, our driver actually organised an extra stop on the way back to further convenience our group. We also left a personal item on the bus (our mistake) and Łukasz went above and beyond (on a public holiday nonetheless) to organise to get it back to us before an early flight the next morning. Huge thank you to Paweł (who was off shift) for making the trip out to us to return our item. An experience, and a company that I would, without a doubt recommend to everyone.
Good tour plenty of time to look around
Excellent experience and a very in depth tour of Auschwitz 1 and 2. Bus was comfy and the journey went quickly. Bob was our tour leader and he was great! Great value for money and crowd size was not too large. Great for a day trip to Auschwitz and to see the history of the site. Highly recommended!
Bob was a great guide for such an important historical visit. He was professional and shared his wealth of knowledge as we completed our tour. The trip was very efficient and every minute was maximised to ensure our group saw all that we could on our visit. Although we travelled on a full bus, they split our big group into 2 smaller groups for our visit to both camps. Bob ensured everyone stuck together and made sure we were all capable of keeping up with the group. A very worthwhile, sad trip but very important to do while visiting Krakow. Bob also provided recommendations for places to eat and also other sites he recommends to visit on your stay here.
The trip to Auschwitz museum was very well organized. The transport was comfortable and everything went smoothly from start to end. The visit was informative and interesting. Gregory was our help and support all the time. Overall it was meaningful experience.
We originally went to the wrong pick up address, luckily our driver/guide phoned us and waited for us to arrive. We were picked up in a lovely coach and our driver played a moving video, showing the liberation of the camp. Our guide was very informative throughout. A sad but interesting day. Highly recommend this trip.
I had a wonderful experience, the driver, Bart, was fantastic. I recommend Krakow Direct,he provided accurate and clear information.
Prompt pick up from our driver Gregory, he was very pleasant and informative and made the whole experience very relaxing. We met our tour guide Anna outside Auschwitz and the whole tour was seamless- Anna was very friendly and knowledgeable and on arrival we were taken straight through the crowds to begin our tour. I would highly recommend booking skip the crowd with Krakow Direct- well worth it!
Auschwitz is what you expect a very sad place. By the time we got to berkenhae it was dark and to be honest a waste of time. They should have done the trip earlier in the day so you could actually see something or install floodlights The guide was very knowledgeable but rushed us around in the dark. The ground is very uneven and waiting for an accident to happen
Experience was good and shocking at the same time, our driver Thomas was excellent and very informative, really talkative guy but made everyone feel included with his enthusiasm
Such a moving experience at Auschwitz. Our lovely tour guide Bart was so helpful and attentive. And the gentleman who walked us around was so informative. Would recommend to anyone!!
Very nice experience, guys are professional and also guider of the tour really knows a lot about whole thing.
Great communication with Krakow Direct. Bart the bus the driver was excellent and kept us in the know with where we had to go and be. I wouldn’t recommend this tour for the one o’clock experience in October as after you do Auschwitz it is pitch black so your second stop you can’t see a thing so takes away from your experience. So I’d recommend trying to get an earlier slot but definitely worthwhile.
overall experience was great , would really recommend, only one issue our tour guide bus left auschwitz to go to birkenau without us , luckily we found another bus that could bring us to birkenau. other than that we’d really recommend the tour.
Gregory was great, approachable and safe sure driver.
Loe, from Krakow Direct was super. Very polite and an informative video on route was fantastic.
Great communication with the driver, Gregory. Picked up on time and a smooth drive to both sites and back. Our tour guide was Anna. Her knowledge was exceptional. The tour is poignant and thought provoking but definitely worth the visit to fully understand what happened. We would highly recommend the tour.
Wonderful trip to Auchwitz with Krakow Direct. Our guide Kris was friendly, informative and engaging, there is nothing that he didn't know delivered an excellent experience. Would definately recommend A+.
Bob was an excellent tour guide. He was extremely informative, found the right tone considering the challenging subject and lead the tour with great integrity. Would highly recommend his tour.
A heartbreaking, essential, and deeply factual experience. The exhibits are something I will never forget. I truly believe every generation needs to see this so that history never repeats itself. Our tour guide, Kris, was incredibly informative. He shared such vast knowledge and passion for a part of history that must never be forgotten. I highly recommend booking this tour.
Bob was a great guide for the Auschwitz tour.
AUSCHWITZ BIRKENAU tour. We had a great driver who was extremely knowledgable (Mitch). He gave us extra information both going and returning which was really great as the tour of Birkenau was very brief with very little to be seen. Auschwitz museum is worth visiting to pay your respects, but only book Birkenau in the morning or during the summer months. There’s very little lighting, so very little to see and a very brief tour in the dark evenings.
Our driver ‘MrT’ was very punctual 5,30am on the dot as arranged He was very polite & chatty. He explained the plan of the day well once everyone was on the mini bus, hen again when we arrived at Auschwitz The lady tour guide we had was excellent She was informative yet compassionate during our visit Would highly recommend the trip with MrT to pick you up-even at 5,30am!!! 🤣
This trip was well planned by Mr T and his team and we loved every minute of it. It did get brought forward by 2 hours so we missed breakfast but it probably worked out better as it gave us more time to explore Krakow later. Visiting Auschwitz was very emotional and our guide was really knowledgeable. We had headphones for the main part of the visit and that was much clearer than without. There wasn’t much time for breaks but we covered quite a few areas and distance. I would recommend booking this trip early as it gets booked up in advance. The Salt mine was also part of our trip and again while it involves lots of steps and walking it was great to see and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s amazing what goes on inside that place. You have to see it to believe it. I’d have no trouble recommending this trip if you’re looking to combine two great trips in one day.
Mr T was a fantastic driver and tour leader, and we really enjoyed our visit! He was punctual, arrived right on time and made me feel completely reassured about the pick-up location. Everything went so smoothly from start to finish! I would 100% recommend Krakow Direct and Mr T to anyone visiting Krakow/ Auschwitz.
An amazing trip. Guide was amazing and well worth the money. Mr T our driver and tour guide was professional, helpful and provided informative information beforehand and during the visit
Great experience and lovely guid for the bus and the trip . I loved how it was over 4 hours. And wasnt spendy for the experince we got
As the days gets shorter in the winter, I would recommend booking your tour earlier in the day. If you book a tour starting after 1:00pm, you will not be able to enjoy the last part of the tour, as it will be too dark.
I knew this would be an emotional experience before I even got on the bus. However, our guide Matthias was so very gentle and genuine while explaining these heavy things that are occurred there at Auschwitz. He really made the trip a perfect 10 for us. I can’t say enough, kind words about my whole experience with Matthias and his gentle way of explaining the hard truth of what occurred there.
Although the destination was a sad and somber place, our guide “Walker” brought the whole experience to life in a most respectful way. From picking us up at our hotel and introducing himself, to dropping us off at the end of the trip, Walker was professional, courteous and considerate towards everyone on the trip. He was passionate about the history of Auswitchz, delivered his knowledge in a way that made the past real, all with an excellent command of the English language. Following an accident on the return journey, which was in no way any fault of his, Walker handled the whole situation well and made sure his priority was his passengers. Walker is a great ambassador and a real credit to the tour company. Thank you for making the tour so memorable for us.
Both guides were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Group size was ideal and it moved at a good pace.
