Krakow–zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka

A lovely end to a week in Krakow. Highly recommend this tour, includes a ride in the funicular to see the tatra mountains and admission to the thermal baths, plus a sample of local cheese and vodka. The cheese was delicious if you like halloumi. Our guide Niko was fab, very knowledgeable about the area and filled with recommendations for where to eat and what to see. Overall highly recommend, a must do for us when we come back!

Me and my partner had the best time touring around Zachopane taking a glimpse into the Polish highlander lifestyle learning how they lived drank and relaxed. The views of the Tetra Mountains were breathtaking from atop the ski resort in Zachopane This was all followed by a stop to the local thermal baths which did not dissappoint have not felt this relaxed in ages All in all would 100% recommend this trip and wouldn't have been possible without Kaja leading the day and giving everyone so much information

My experience with this tour was amazing, I loved every part of it, despite not being able to see the mountains because of the fog! Being guided by Olaf was also great, he was very nice and knowledgeable!

We had an amazing day on this trip and our tour guide, Kaja, was amazing. She was really informative, always willing to help, gave us good suggestions and spoke amazing English! The trip itself had great balance, we found that there was a perfect amount of time allocated for each of the stops and they all offered something different to the traditional Krakow tourist attractions and gave us a day to see more of what rural Poland is actually like. We also did the Salt Mines and Auschwitz and found this to be an amazing use of a day alongside those. Would definitely recommend this to any families thinking of booking! Also- towels can be hired at the thermal baths for 5pzl each (£1~) and there are plenty of lunch options in Zakopane if you are considering if you need to bring lunch. Thanks again Kaja!!

Shout out to Szczepan our guide for making the trip that extra special! Fabulous guided tour with interesting history that Szczepan was able to share that extra personal touch. His communication via what’s app was tremendous before and during trip incase there was any questions or worries. Smoked cheese, vodka shots a nice traditional experience. Zakopane just amazing!!!! do the tram up the mountain first and take in the views. Then go into the village and explore, we stopped for food and I wish we hadn’t as you don’t get long, it’s a lovely village to explore. I’d recommend just grab a sandwich on the go, I’d say you can’t get any food there you can’t get in krakow. This is truly a must do trip!!!

We had a wonderful day and Mirek, our guide, made sure that everything ran smoothly. He made contact prior to the trip and remained in touch throughout, giving helpful tips and advice for the rest of our stay. This was a great opportunity to see Poland outside of Krakow and experience more of its culture and traditions. We were happy to have booked a trip with a small group, travelling via minibus as opposed to coach and appreciated a more intimate and bespoke experience.

Had a fantastic tour to Zakopane and thermal baths. Szczepan was a brilliant host, warm, welcoming and friendly. Szczepan was very knowledgeable and knew lots of interesting stories relating to the places we visited. Communication both prior to the tour and during the tour was really good, with informative texts sent both before and on the day of the tour. Szczepan also speaks excellent English, which meant that verbal communication and talks could be easily understood. I would recommend both the tour company and Szczepan as host to anyone visiting Krakow.

We booked this as a stag group, whilst that was maybe an oversight to do when quite hungover we really enjoyed the day. Plenty of coach travel so prepare in advance (avoid heavy drinking the night before) The baths were amazing and we all loved the cheese. Great guide helped too!

Great day out, well spaced stops so you’re not on the coach for too long. Mirek was very informative and made it a really enjoyable day. Zakopane is a very pretty ski town and the thermal pools were a good way to end the trip.

We booked the zakopane tour as a group of 4. Communication around pick up location made it easy to find. The tour itself was made by the guide Mirek. He was so friendly and knowledgeable sharing insights of the area and Poland in general. The cheese and Vodka tasting was amazing and plentiful. Zakopane ks beautiful even on a foggy day. The day ended with 3 hours at the thermal baths. More than enough time to explore the complex. Massive thank you again goes to Mirek and his driver colleague. Would 100% recommend.

Cheese stop was nice, Zakopane was a little boring due to it being so foggy. But the thermal spa was unbelievable. Our guide was so knowledgeable, funny and approachable. He made the experience a lot better

We had the most fantastic day on our Zakopane tour. Thousand Miles were easy to contact with any questions before the trip. We were picked up promptly at our hotel in a clean and comfortable bus. Our guide, Fabian, was friendly and knowledgeable. We liked it when he played the Polish vodka music on the bus! We stopped for cheese and vodka tasting and there was plenty of vodka to go around. The funicular ride offered wonderful views of the Tatra mountains. The highlight of the day was the thermal baths. We went to Goracy Potok because Chocholow was closed for maintenance, but it didn't matter because Goracy Potok was clean and relaxing and an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this trip for a true Polish experience outside of the city.

Had a wonderful time on our trip to Zakopane during our visit to Krakow. Highly recommend, it felt like a real authentic trip through the highlands. Our tour guide Niko made the trip what it was. He had exceptional service, gave great step by step explanations for where to meet, what to do, and how everything worked in the thermal baths; he also shared lots of his knowledge about the highlanders, and the history of all the places we drove through. Niko gave fantastic recommendations for restaurants to try in Zakopane, as well as recommendations for places to visit in Krakow after our trip.

What a wonderful experience learning about Polish culture and history! Our guide, Olaf, made sure everything ran smoothly and organised the entire day seamlessly, making the experience both enjoyable and stress-free. He was a reliable driver, incredibly knowledgeable, and ensured we got to experience all the highlights, making the day even more memorable. We rode the cable car to take in the stunning Zakopane mountains, sampled traditional Oscypek cheese paired with sweet vodka, and especially loved relaxing in the Zakopane thermal baths, which were a real highlight of the trip! We couldn't recommend Olaf highly enough to anyone looking for a fantastic experience!

Lucio was a great guide. Very funny and nothing was too much trouble. Made the journey enjoyable. The stop off for Vodka and Cheese was a nice break in the journey and then on to the cable car. Unfortunately it was very foggy so we couldn't see anything but the cafe at the top sold excellent mulled wine. They do charge you to use the toilet though. The thermal baths were w amazing, probably the best baths we've been to including Budapest and New Zealand. Very clean and well looked after. Would be happy to book with Thousand Miles again and special thanks to Dawid our driver and Lucio the tour guide.
