Half-day Wieliczka Salt Mine Tour From Krakow

Tour company van driver Arthur arrived on time right outside our accommodation but his instructions to find our way back to his van were poor and it was tricky to get back being unfamiliar with the area. Fortunately we had data to use Google maps, we had been sent a Google pin to get us back which we were grateful of. If you didn't have data I think it would have been very different. Tour guide, Zsuzana was knowledgeable but the group was way too big. When the guide arrived at something of interest, she would tell the group but if you were mid to back of the group you couldn't see what she was talking about and it really impacted the education. I'd say there must have been about 40-50 people in our group at a rough count.

Our driver was very helpful and showed us exactly where we needed to go and picked us up on time!

We had dawid as our driver and went to the salt mines with hotel pick up and drop off, we travelled in luxury and we were completely looked after from start to finish, id recommend these, thankyou

Took this as a first tour in Krakow. The driver was very friendly and prompt in picking us up at our hotel. He was great at explaining all the meeting place locations, etc., after the mine tour completed. The mine tour guide did a great job of explaining all the aspects of the mine's operation and history. The whole experience was worth the time. I would make it have to do for all visitors to the area.

The salt mine is beautiful and interesting, our guide happened to be very good as well. Definitely a place to visit and not miss out! The half-day tour with pick-up and drop-off was excellent - still plenty of time left of the day and no worries about transportation. Highly recommend!

Tomsk was brilliant, he picked us up on time and after the Wieliczka Salt mine tour he drove us back to our hotel. Lovely man who is very knowledgeable about the area! We would go with him again!

Tour can be somewhat challenging if not in average physical shape or above. Very interesting history of the mine. Worth the effort.

Brilliant!! Tomas our driver was amazing and guided us to the entrance of the Salt Mines and was waiting at the designated spot on our return . The guide of the tour was amazing and the tour itself was fabulous! Would highly recommend, a lot of walking and quite a number of steps , so beware , although it is a slow pace not good if you have mobility issues. Over all a fantastic morning and would certainly come again

this salt mine should be added to the great marvels in the world. tour guide given by salt staff was excellent the tour lasted about 2 hours at a safe comfortable pace

Salt mines were amazing, worth the money, speed of tour was a bit too fast particularly for older people or less mobile, often moving on quickly as the group behind caught up. My wife has a walking stick and when there was a seat in the salt chamber sat down but we got moving on immediately.

As promised, they called the day before to arrange pick up at our hotel. Driver was even a little early. He texted when he was approaching. Transport was in a nice air-conditioned sprinter van. Only a 20 minute ride to the salt mine. When we got there, we felt very VIP and bypassed the long lines of people waiting. The tour itself was better than expected. Very interesting. Incredible carvings, not physically strenuous. The driver met us upon our exit from the salt mine and drove us back to our hotel expeditiously. He was very friendly and the whole experience was worth the money and fun!

What an incredible experience, especially on a boiling hot day! Daniel picked us up from our designated hotel and we whisked along from Krakow centre in blissful AC and a quiet group of people. The mine itself is spectacular! The descent down gives you no idea what to expect when you enter the tunnels and breath the cool, salted air (great for asthma and COPD people). The cavernous main hall with its chandeliers is a sight to behold. The elevator ride back up was perfect after 2 hours of walking through the mines. And the ride back to Krakow was equally a great ending to a perfect way to spend a morning.

We were well taken care from the moment our driver Daniel picked us up from the hotel and dropped us off to the wonderful guide who took us deep into the most amazing, cavernous experience we have ever been on. Being able to skip the long lines for entry was an additional plus. We recommend everyone should book a full package tour of this remarkable experience.

Absolutely fabulous, great driver and guide truly unique experience. Please be aware you do need a level of fitness for this trip as there are lots of steps and walking to negotiate. Also when you have finished the tour the coffee is lovely in restaurant but be aware it is a 20 to 25 minute walk to get to lift to the surface

Had a fantastic day with this company, pick-up from hotel at time stated when booking was made, had time to have breakfast before we went. The driver was great he contacted us on the morning of the trip to confirm time to get us, also sent a pin for going back as they have a designated car park for the Salt Mines, really easy to find. The Salt Mines was fabulous, loads of stairs and walking but was definitely worth it. Would definitely recommend this company, the experience was seamless, couldn't have asked for a better service, I'd definitely use them again 😃👍🏼

Tomak picked us up at our hotel in Krakow and messaged us the day before about exact pick up time and drove us to the salt mines. About 45 minutes outside of town. He then directed us to the group we’d be joining to go into the mines very efficiently. Our English speaking guide was wonderful. You’re in the mines for about 2:15 hours and learn about the salt mining dating back to the 1600’s. There are amazing full chapels with the story of Christ depicted in amazing salt carvings. Was glad to take the elevator back up!

Had a fantastic trip to the Salt Mines, with Thomas at Poland is beautiful. He arrived on time and was very informative as we travelled to the mines through Krakow. Thomas escorted us to the entrance and we skipped the long queue to our lovely guide. The mines were wonderful and at the end we were in a different place and Thomas came and picked us up after having waited for us. I also had Thomas take me on a trip on the Pope John Paul trail and again he was professional and friendly and as a solo female traveller I felt totally safe and at ease. From my experience on both trips I would highly recommend Thomas and Poland is beautiful. Thank you

Interesting and beautiful salt mines. We booked through Poland is Beautiful and were taken there and back by Thomas - lovely journey and he waited for us at the end, after the specified time, so that we could visit the museum at the end of the Mine tour. Thank you Thomas!

Great day at the Salt mine. Tomasz was very polite and friendly. He was right on time to pick me up for my tour. Excellent driver and waited patiently for us whilst we finished our tour. The Salt mine was also quite interesting in terms of Polish history and worth a visit. Much recommended.

Driver Dawid was prompt and friendly. At the salt mine Shame headset didn't work after 10 minutes missed a lot of the information. Beautiful to see so it's worth visiting

Excellent service from tour operator. We were kept fully informed about pick up times and the vehicle. The driver was on time and very friendly. He even dropped us off at a different location on the way back and gave us information about where we wanted to visit. The salt mines tour was good. Wanted to visit the Salt Mines and was toying with the idea of going DIY or going with an agency. Found Poland Is Beautiful via a Krakow Facebook group and it had good reviews and luckily for us, it was running a promotion with discounted prices. It was a no-brainer for us as for just a few euros more, we had door-to-door pick up and drop off, tickets organised and bought in advance for us and the company of our driver/guide Lukas who was friendly and informative. Had a great chat with him about Krakow in general, and he offered many tips and recommendations for our stay. Honestly, if you're on a tight budget, you can easily do the Salt Mines on your own as you can simply take a direct train there from Krakow Glowny and buy your entry tickets directly from the Wieliczka Salt Mines website. The entry ticket comes with the guided tour run by the Mines staff themselves and not the tour guide from the agency. So essentially by going with a tour agency, you are just paying for transportation there and for them to buy tickets for you. However, we were happy that we used the services of Poland Is Beautiful as we appreciated not having to walk in the cold from our apartment to the train station and from the station to the Salt Mines and we would certainly not have gotten the bonus of chatting with a local (Lukas) during the trip and getting all his personal takes and recommendations. My interaction with Tomasz the agency owner was great. He was very prompt and helpful in answering my numerous queries prior to the tour and kept us apprised and updated the day before with pertinent logistics like pick up time, driver's particulars etc.  I understand that Poland Is Beautiful is a small boutique agency that does many other tours and specialises in trips to Zakopane. Given my great experience with them, I will certainly support local and contact them again when I return to Krakow in the future.

Absolutely fabulous trip, booked through poland is beautiful and contacted day before informed of time to picked up, shared with another couple which we didn't mind, Dawid picked us up from our accommodation on time, lots of walking but Salt mines brilliant, Dawid gave us certificate from poland is beautiful for having done trip which was very thoughtful. Had a great time with this company. Pick up time and location were confirmed the previous day and on the day of the trip, the driver Jakob, let us know he was on his way and turned up on time. Jakob informed us that we had 3 more pick ups and roughly how long it would take to reach the mines. Once there we were escorted to the mines and informed of a possible alternative exit and how to get back to the meeting place. The mines were amazing and well worth the visit. I am happy to recommend this company, everything was organised very professionally and I will have no hesitation using them when we return to Poland
