From Kraków: Morskie Oko And Zakopane Tour

Michał did a fantastic job as our tour guide. He contacted us early to ensure we knew where to meet and what to pack. He drove us safely to the Morskie Oko trailhead and Zakopane and gave us information about the culture of the Polish Highlands. The hike was nearly ten miles round trip but the views at the top were worth it, even on a windy and cloudy day. Bring zloty if you wish to buy anything at the mountain hut by the lake as they don’t accept credit cards. We also made stops at the main shopping street in Zakopane, at a small store selling Highlander cheese, and at a small bakery for delicious pastries. I would highly recommend this tour and Michał as a guide to anyone interested in a beautiful nature getaway from Krakow.

Great guide and experience, well organized

My family of 3 had a wonderful trip today with Oskar who provided us with clear information about what to do and where to go. Thank you for your patience although we ran later than the agreed upon timing. Morskie Oko was truly beautiful.

Piotr was really friendly and awesome with all of us. Telling us about the stops and landmarks along the way there. He also gave us restaurant recommendations when he got back to krakow. Overall he was a really great tour guide and driver.

What a great trip to Morskie Oko lake, Zakopane and a cheese/vodka tasting. Our guide was super helpful and friendly. Picked us up on time, every time. Helped us with instructions for entering parks and riding trams. One suggestion - if you are planning on hiking to Morskie Oko Lakr in the winter (which is amazing!!) bring or buy crampons/shoe spikes. They do sell them at the park. I bought them at the first hut stop when I realized I was going to need them. It is a long uphill hike but worth it.

A memorable day trip. The walk to Morskie Oko was straightforward, with beautiful scenery the entire way. It was very pleasant to spend time on Krupowski Street in Zakopane. The oscypek (smoked cheese) tasting was also one of the highlights of my day. Oskar was a great driver/guide. He was friendly and communicated clearly about what to expect at each point. I greatly appreciated his professionalism and positive attitude, which made the tour especially smooth and enjoyable.

Oskar was a fantastic guide throughout the whole day and made us feel at ease from the start. We had ample amount of time to visit Morskie Oko and take in the beautiful surroundings, we even met some friendly deer on the way. The view from Gubalowke was nice even with the bad weather. The cheese and Vodka tasting was a nice treat to end a great trip. A highly recommended tour and we will be sharing it with our friends and family. Thank you again Oskar!! 😃

We found this company on TripAdvisor and book a day tour to Moskie Oko and Zakopane. Booking online and communication with the staff via WhatsApp was easy and hassle-free. Moskie Oko is a beautiful national park, we unsure about Zakopane as we did not have much time to tour Zakopane except having our late lunch. The main reason we rate this tour as 3-star is primarily due to bad weather (rainy day) which make the hiking at Moskie Oko less than pleasant due to rain. Worse still, all the snow-capped mountains were shrouded in thick clouds and mist which we did not see the best views of Moskie Oko. Also, the funicular to the mountain top for Tatra Mountains at Zakopane was closed due to rainy weather too. The tour guide/ driver was only doing his basic duty to send us to the destinations. Having said that, he was friendly, polite and chatty, but don’t expect any extra mile service from him, such as making alternative plans so that we could enjoy the tour a bit more despite the rainy weather. We completely understand weather’s condition is beyond the tour company’s control. But we urge other traveller to double check Moskie Oko’s weather before making booking for this tour to avoid disappointment we had since the best view of this place is very much dependent on the weather. That said, the hiking and forest bathing at Moskie Oko was very nice with fresh air despite the rainy day. We saw some wild animals like deers and marmots along the hiking trails.

Great trip. Zakopane town is very beautiful with lots to do. Our driver Matthew was very kind and efficient. He made the trip great!

Jacob was a great driver and gave us lots of tips along the way. We walked the whole way but I’d I did it again I would probably use the electric bus, and then spend more time hiking at the top once we got there! Beautiful sights!

Michael was a sincere humorous and friendly guide who provided insights and had a passion for local Poland history. We were very well cared for and comfortable throughout the 12 hour journey. Will definitely like to book his services and again for any travel !

Our guide Matthew was wonderful! So personable and knowledgeable about the area. We had a great time and Zakopane is beautiful.

Michal was brilliant, giving us lots of interesting information along the route. With a comfort stop before the first main stop where he took us for cheese samples. Then onto Zakopane where he distributed the tickets and sent us a link to the bus parking place. We had 3 hours to explore and that was the right amount of time. Michal told us the best way to experience the mountain and cable car and how to get to the main town street if we wanted. Overall excellent. Thank you.

The view is amazing and received good services from our lovely tour guide Michal! It was a hot and sunny day. Many cafe and restaurants in the high street and at the view point.

This was an excellent tour. Beautiful hike up to the beautiful lake. Breathtaking scenery. Matthew was our tour director and this was the second tour he handled for us. I really wanted to see Morskie Oko during my trip to Poland, but this trip is spontaneous and I did not do much research or planning prior. Thank you Piotr for leading me to Tatra mountain and Zakopane, and showing me the culture of Highlanders; he is informative and I had a lot of fun.

Amazing day trip! we had a group transfer to Zakopane from Krakow booked. Victor was our driver on the day and was great we chatted the whole way to Zakopane he drove us to each destination throughout the day and waited for us to do whatever we needed to do. The plan was to go to Zakopane first and then to the thermal baths but with Victor’s advice we did the baths first which was the right decision because it got very busy and was a nice wake up call. He pointed things out to us throughout the day and gave some interesting insights into Poland. Highly, highly recommended these guys for any transfers or trips. The price was affordable and well worth the money!

The host Matthew was brilliant, would recommend! Explained things clearly and had time to answer any questions you put his way.

Our driver Diego was an excellent guide. While both the hike and village didn’t need a formal tour guide (both sites were very straight-forward one way in and out, so a guide was not at all necessary), Diego still answered all of our questions and arrived at pick up points as soon as we needed him there. He also drove smoothly and safely, and he had a great music playlist during the car ride. The hike was tiring but very worth it. There were countless small children and elders who trekked the whole way up and down, so I would say the hike is relatively easy, but definitely pack lots of water and wear good walking shoes. It’s paved the whole way, but there are “shortcuts” you can take up through staircases - but note that those shortcuts are very steep and rocky, with limited handrails. Because we were tired from the hike, we opted out of the cheese portion of the tour, but we were still able to go into the village and walk around the shops. Overall, we really enjoyed the day!

We had a lovely time on our hike to Morskie Oko. The scenery was beautiful and the path easy to follow. Our guide Michal kindly collected us from our hotel we had a very interesting conversation while traveling, which made the journey fly by. Would highly recommend this trip.

Very good experience. Thomas, our driver, was on time,courteous, and a very nice gentleman. Trek to the lake was wonderful,with a paved path and forest and mountains all around. It took us 5 hours to go and get back with an hour at the lake. Must do if you enjoy 16 km treks and want to explore nature. Lake surrounded by the mountain was amazing. Zakopane is a small town, with buzzing tourists. Overall a very enjoyable day.

As a solo traveler, I always find issues joining organised activities as they require always 2 people at least. I contacted Legendary Krakow and in a day they added me to an existing group. We ended up being only two, but the agency still did not cancel the tour, and I am very happy about it because the tour was amazing and well organised. Our guide Janek was punctual and well prepared. He was also flexible and together we planned the schedule of the day. I enjoyed the tour but also the journey as Janek is a very nice guide and explained us a lot, but we also went to other topics like food, culture, geography etc... I totally advice this tour!

We booked a trip through Legendary Kraków agency to visit Zakopane, Morskie Oko, Gubałówka, and Thermal Spas and I would recommend it to everyone who wants a great experience. Wiktor was our guide for the trip and he was truly amazing. We got picked up at our hotel in Kraków in a nice comfortable van and it took about 2 hours to get to Tatra National Park/Tatry Mountains with the mission to hike/walk to Morskie Oko. To reach Morskie Oko depends on your speed, it took us 3 hours at a normal pace. And WOW it was worth it, it was the most incredible view and appreciation for nature. We took the horse and carriage on our way back and it took only 30 min lol. Wiktor was patiently waiting for us in the parking lot and next took us to Zakopane market for some shopping and gave us tickets for the train ride up to Gubałóka for the beautiful mountain views. Next, he took us to the most adorable little bacówka (mountain hut) where we tried local cheeses, one popular in particular - oscypek. It's a smoked cheese that gets grilled and served with a delicious cranberry jam and we also got to taste homemade bimber (moonshine). The owner of the shop was the sweetest lady that truly enjoyed giving a nice experience to the customers. Wiktor knows the fun local areas and made this a very fun stop! Our last stop was at the Thermal Spas. It was really nice to wind down in the warm pools after a long day of hiking and exploring. It was the cherry on top! I want to thank Legendary Kraków and Wiktor for making this trip an amazing experience, very fun, and for being so pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely book more trips with them in the future! - Malvina & Gabby

The views were great at Morskie Oko. Totally worth the hike up and down. Maciek was great in bringing us around and explaining to us how things work around the places. He was happy to answer any questions we got throughout the day.

The lake was, of course, absolutely stunning. The walk wasn't too difficult apart from a bit of ice, and the view of the tatras the whole way up was amazing. We also loved our guide David. He was always there when we needed him, gave us some extremely memorable sights, and was a really lovely guy! If I did this again I'd want him as my guide.

Janek was such a fab guide, that really took the time to show us all the intricacies and little fun facts about the mountains and Zakopane. He was super prompt and communicative with pick up and drop off times and made what everyone had what they needed/were comfy for the journey. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour of the mountains and the ski city.

Piotr was amazing! Request him if you can. This experience is totally worth it if you are wanting to visit Morskie Oko and Zakopane. Piotr dropped us off right at the entrance of the hiking trial and right by the cable cars. He also sent us some recommendations while we were staying in Krakow. Will be booking again in the future!
