An amazing experience from pick up to drop off. No waiting in lines, professional & courtesies staff. Informative guided tours. Lunch was basic but perfect for the day. It’s a long day but well worth the sore feet & leg muscles today. Thank you.
It was a very good experience, pick up was perfectly coordinated and on time, everything was comfortable including the shuttle, entrance to the camps and salt mines. We did not have to face any inconvenience. Our Driver was also helpful, polite and very friendly.
If you book the two activities together, note that the actual pickup time can be from 0530 to 0730. Don’t be fooled by the default 0700 pick up time. The shuttle van itself had water leaks along the headliner above the window and dripping water as it was racing that day. The shuttle driver was very polite but did not provide clear instructions about when and where to meet after each event. The tour guides at each location were very informative and helpful.
Great experience, everything on time and the bus driver and coordinator very friendly. The salt mine guide was really good and the Auschwitz was good to know but could spoken loudly in birkenau part. In general it was great!
Everything was very well communicated prior to and during the trip, driver was approachable and friendly. Tours with official tour guides at both salt mines and Auschwitz-Birkenau were very engaging and interesting. Isn’t really anything I would change. Didn’t get lunch included package so don’t know what that involves. These visits involve a moderate amount of walking around the sites.
Well worth the visit to see and hear about the holocaust how the poor people were treated. Emotional visit but worth it
Thank you so much Mike (our guide) for an amazing experience.
The day before we were advised of 05:30 pick-up. Driver was punctual. After about 1.5 hrs we arrived at Auschwitz. We were handed off to a licensed Auschwitz guide who stayed with us for the next 3 hrs. The tour was emotional & sad & at times felt rushed. We appreciated the guide’s knowledge, passion & very good English.
Unique experience, educational tour. Company provided and coordinated transportation smoothly Since we stayed in old town with restricted traffic The company used small van to pick us up and delivered us to other bigger van for total 19 passengers
The tour guide was fabulous. So knowledgeable . . The salt mine was so interesting. The camps were extremely depressing but I believe everyone should have to see and understand so it doesn’t happen again. It is so worth this trip
Incredibly interesting and humbling experience. A very knowledgable tour guide who had such a wealth of knowledge around Aushwitz and an awesome tour guide around the salt mine who made the tour fun as well as interesting also, a great driver for the transfers who kept everyone informed and up to date with the plans. Very well organised and a great day!
As we were only in krakow for a couple of days we wanted to do both sites in the same day. Booked direct with Mr Shuttle, had no issues, though final pick up time was only confirmed the day before. This was really early at 5.40am from our hotel, in hindsight this was good as we were at Auschwitz for it opening. Our driver was excellent and really helpful. The official guide was excellent and informative going round Auschwitz and Birkenau. The salt mines were amazing, it was a long day but well worth it. 100% would recommend
We felt very rushed through it. We were in a group of about 30 and did not have time to read the information. The next tour group was right on our heels and while trying to listen to our guide, the next guides booming voice was louder than the headphone voice. We feel they are running too many people through in a day and it feels like you are being herded as cattle. It would be a better experience if it was slowed down a bit and you could contemplate what you are seeing.
Excellent. This is experience is something I've always wanted to do and I'm so glad I did it. Guide was very friendly and helpful. We also had a wheelchair user, who can also use crutches with us and they were extremely helpful when it came to her ability needs. Absolutely worth the experience. Salt mines for someone who uses a wheelchair but also crutches, was a daunting thought, when there are 800 steps roughly, going down. At first she was unsure if she was just going to give the salt mines a miss and just wait on us instead. However, shes a fit young girl and decided to give it a go. This was quite difficult energy wise for her, but she managed to keep up with the group and experience the salt mines along with us.
It’s eas a long but incredible day. The Salt Mines were an amazing experience, and our visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau was both eye opening and surreal. It was a deeply moving experience that I’ll never forget.
Absolutely fabulous day. So well organised and we had a great time. Our driver was lovely and our guides through the day were extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Very well organized! The driver and the guides were very polite and professional. Definitely recommend it
I had a wonderful experience on this day tour to Auschwitz and the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Everything was very well organized, and the hotel pickup and drop-off were smooth and convenient. Our tour guide was amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. They did an excellent job explaining the history and providing interesting details throughout the tour. It was a long day, but everything ran smoothly and never felt rushed or confused about where to go next. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-organized tour with an excellent guide!
Salt mine is an amazing place. an amazing place, and auschwich and birchenau is worth to see . Definitely will recommend to visit.
The tour exceeded our expectations. We all learnt more of what happened in this camp, it was a somber day but one that everyone should experience and learn about.
Auschwitz-Birkenau are incredible places. I'm glad we took them in. Our driver was great. Unfortunately not so much our guide. She rushed through the exhibits without giving us time to contemplate what we were seeing and the true horror that occurred. No time for pictures. No time for questions until the very end. Without an audio set at Birkenau she was difficult to hear. The whole thing felt rushed. Unlike the Salt Mine where the guide took time to allow photos and answer questions. He was very good.
Unfortunately the pick up time was changed at the last minute to 5.24am! So a very early start but worth it in the end. Driver was very good and informative. The guide was knowledgeable and sensitive. A lot of walking but really worth it.
The visit is a must! It is something that should never happen again and the tour points this out very clearly. As my daughter expressed, it is "haunting".
We had an amazing day trip. Our driver Christian was punctual, very friendly, and made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. Everything from arranging pickup the day before was hassle free. The vehicle was clean and spacious, and we loved the flexible pacing that let us explore without feeling rushed. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a seamless and stress-free trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the salt mines.
This was a wonderful full day tour. Exhausting but in a good way. Saw so much and learned much more. Would highly recommend!! Christian, our driver, and Sophia and Ivonne, our guides, were fantastic.
Excellent guide at Auschwitz. Well paced and very detailed. Very caring and courteous driver for the day.
It's a very long day, and about 15,000 steps. Auschwitz-Birkenau was a difficult trip in terms of the history, but they do service to those who died and are so respectful. Salt mines were interesting but again a lot of walking so be prepared. Well worth it - we included lunch with our ticket and all agree that was also well worth.
Quite an emotional trip when visiting the camps. So very interesting in the salt mines. Great guides. Our driver Michael ( English version) was fab. Polite friendly well organised and professional. Pick up and drop off as planned. Thoughtful of people who had some walking difficulty. Kept us updated through the day of the itinerary. We were also lucky all of the guests on our mini bus were friendly. Would recommend this experience and company. We took a lunch pack which was also catered for a vegetarian so happy all round.
The guide we had was amazing, its like listening to a professional audio with the information she shared and the way she delivered. Be prepared for a very long walk on the Birkenau part of the tour as it is a very large compound.
Seeing Auschwitz and Birkeneau is both a mentally and physically exhausting experience. I’m glad they are working to keep up the buildings for continuing future visits, including from the Polish teenage students. As our guide said, “Learning about history is the only way to keep from repeating it.” What the Jews and other minorities experienced here and learning more about Polish history and what they have overcome scares me even more about where the US is heading. We must all strive to be more accepting of others. 😢
Very well organized tours to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka Salt Mines. Mr. Shuttle picked us up right outside of our hotel and the driver was very accommodating and helpful. I liked the fact that they pick you up and drop you off directly to your hotel. The tours did not feel rushed, very well timed and paced so you can take photos and ask questions. Our tour guide was Polish and delivered her presentation with clarity, respectfully and she made the experience of this otherwise somber place memorable. After the first tour, we had a break for lunch (very delicious) before heading to the salt mines. I recommend pre ordering lunch so you don't have to wait in line, prep time for hot food and I believe it was cash only anyway. With the lunch option, our driver had our lunches prepped and ready for us to enjoy, which meant more time to use the restroom, shop or rest. From there our other guide for the salt mines was very patient and also did not rush the tour. We saw everything we paid for and this tour is worth booking! Remember to wear comfy shoes as you will do ALOT of walking, but again totally worth it to do both tours in one day!
A Be prepared for the weather as you will be doing a lot of walking outside at Auschwitz and its going to be a heavy day... then the salt mines are a nice reprieve but again can be a long day for folks, multiple members of our group were obviously struggling by the end
Interesting and moving but rather rushed, although we realise there is a lot to cover. It’s very good to be picked up from your hotel.
Trip, Tour Guides all good and as espected, there were 6 people on the tour that got the food, we were very rushed, food late and only 10 mins to eat, I called Viator, they called the tour guide and a parital refund of $100 total requested, both refused, both really didn't seem to care. Do not add the food portion of the tour.
Fantastic. Our guide spoke from the heart. That speaks volumes of there feelings or experiences and we knew the feelings were deep. Can’t describe how we felt after
Excellent service from Mr Shuttle. Prompt pick up and clear instruction of times and meeting points.
Words cant describe the Auschwitz tour! All I can say is that Patricia, our tour guide was superb. Her depth of knowledge and the way in which she spoke was very powerful. Me and my mum were both choking back tears at times. Thats all I can say, if you ever get the chance to go, please try to get Patricia.
Make sure you have a proper tour guide that love his job not a driver that is in a rush and just read what we can read in the site.
Dominic was a fantastic driver. We received two messages confirming our pick up time the day before our tour and a reminder the morning of. He was right on time. We were given clear instructions for each stop, which kept things stress free. We actually had two guides at Auschwitz and Birkenau, as our English speaking guide was in training. With the help of her trainer, she did a really goid job. The tours are well organized to get you through the sites/provide the information efficiently. There's a lot to see and learn, and the efficiency with which we were led through the camps really gave you a feeling of what it was like for the prisoners there. I was glad to have lunch and the transit to the salt mine to recover from the walking and emotional weight of the camps. We also had a separate guide for the salt mine, Sylvia, who did a fantastic job. Again, it's a ton of walking, and at a fairly steady pace. You do get a couple breaks to use the toilets and/or get a drink or souvenirs during the tour, which was handy since you won't have much time afterwards. Be warned that the salt mine tour ends in another part of town than where it starts! Again, Dominick made sure we knew this and our tour badges had a QR code with the parking spot pinned. It was only an eight minute walk, but be sure someone in your group has battery life on their phone so you can follow the map back (it's not difficult). Again. I highly recommend this tour, but be sure you are prepared for a lot of walking!
Outstanding experience with Michael! We booked the day trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our driver, Michael, was so knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire day. He went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and truly made our whole day so amazing. Highly recommend this tour! 5 star experience
Be prepared for an early start but it is all worth it. Auschwitz-Birkenau was our first stop and our guide was absolutely fantastic. If you travel to Krakow then make sure you include this as part of your time there. The second visit of the day was the Salt Mine and again a great experience. Great guide; very knowledgeable and just an enjoyable experience. Only disappointment was the fact my husband missed out travelling in the miner style lifts.
I don’t normally write reviews but I thought this company deserved one from start to finish everything was excellent. We were kept informed of our pickup time which was from our hotel and was bang on time. The driver tomasz was great and kept us informed all the way and everything ran well and on time. The tours themselves were good and informative and the guide at auschwitz was great and put all the information across to us very well. Salt mines were also good to look around Overall I would recommend using this company for the tours to anyone that would be looking to book this experience
A fantastic day, early start but that is needed to fit everything in. Driver and guide were really informative and polite.
It was an amazing and educational tour. The driver was very friendly and extremely helpful. In case you are travelling with kids be prepared to walk a lot!
This trip was amazing! I learned so much about each aspect of the tour and really appreciated the assistance and expertise of our driver and guides.
Tour guides and drivers are amazing, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. We were able to skip the lines to go into the attractions
A must-do while in Krakow. You will learn things about the concentration camps you didn’t know during the tour and also through the 20-minute documentary shown on route, the Liberation of Auschwitz. A completely eye-opening experience. While Auschwitz was more personal with more visual artefacts and appeal, the scale of Birkenau – the enormity of the atrocities committed there – was unfathomable. And through control of the populace through fear, human beings did this to other humans, or stood by and let it happen. It's a reminder that we cannot let similar forces, operating all around the world today, to succeed. After booking, I had many questions about the order of sites (I definitely wanted to visit the camps first and the salt mine second), the timing, the lunch, and particularly whether a gluten-free option could be provided. Mr. Shuttle staff, Gosia, Aleksandra, and especially Zuzanna, were friendly, positive, and took initiative in all their responses. Great pre-excursion customer service. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that our guide in the camps, Teresa, while phenomenally knowledgeable, authentic, and deeply empathetic, had a lot of Information to impart so spoke very quickly, and with her accent, was at times hard to understand, especially through the earpieces provided for all group tours. I was not the only participant to have this experience. I managed to hear and assimilate about 2/3 of what she said, which was a shame, because her knowledge was encyclopedic and I know I missed details that I would like to have heard. The salt mine was simply incredible and our guide, Samantha, was easy to hear and easy to understand. She used humour where appropriate and was very organized with respect to logistics. While I am glad I took the mine tour, it was in a league far below the concentration camps in terms of impact. Our driver – born and raised in Krakow, but went by Mike for the sake of his English speaking guests, was excellent. He communicated all the arrangements – from bathroom and snack breaks to exact time at sites and exact meeting spots – very clearly. Ample breaks were provided, which was welcome as the day was long (but only 14,000 steps) with a fair bit of waiting to enter the sites by group. For example, 10,000 visitors tour the salt mine daily! He also was aware of my tendency to get carsick and installed me in the front seat, checked in with me throughout the drive, and also provided me lots of interesting tourist info on the side. However, I was less thrilled about the drop-off, which was to be at the pick-up point in front of my hotel. Mike instead dropped me 2-3 “blocks” from the hotel with unclear directions how to get there navigating through paths in Planty Park on the basis that my hotel – Amber Design Residence – was in a restricted zone in the old town, which was not the case. Also much appreciated was the gluten-free meal Mr. Shuttle was able to provide for my husband who has coeliac disease. A highly recommended tour.
Great experience. Must see for historical purposes. Unfortunately, the museum is terrible! Yad Vashem (Israel), Washington DC Holocaust Museum and others tell a much better telling story for the record.
We were very lucky to have Luca as our guide around Auschwitz, he was very knowledgeable and made the day very thought provoking
