An amazing tour that was presented extremely well. Excellent bus and outstanding tour guide. Highly recommended.

Itinerary
The Judenrampe (Jewish Ramp) was a railway unloading platform used during the Holocaust between 1942 and 1944 at the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. It was located between the Auschwitz I (main camp) and Auschwitz II-Birkenau camps. Today, the Judenrampe is a memorial site with commemorative plaques honoring the victims. Unlike the well-known "Gate of Death" at Birkenau, the Judenrampe played a critical but lesser-known role in the mass deportations.
Visit Auschwitz I and Birkenau (Auschwitz II) with a professional guide. Explore original barracks, barbed-wire fences, gas chambers and crematoria while learning about prisoners’ lives, Nazi atrocities and the Holocaust. Hear the history of both camps through a headset, in groups of up to 30 people, and discover the story of liberation on January 27, 1945. This moving tour offers a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and the importance of remembering its victims.

They changed the time to go to the tour just a few a hours before depart. I received the e-mail after 5 pm. The tour was first schedulled to 7 am. They changed to 13 pm. It was impossible for me to be on the tour at the new time because I had a flight at the same day. They didnt answer the phone or e-mails and after that they refused to give me back my money, I appealed to my credit card to try to block the payment. Dont recommend this to anyone!
We booked with Krakow Tours as our trip was cancelled at the last minute. From the offset we found the service impeccable. The lady on the phone was so helpful and professional our tour was booked with very little trouble. Adam our driver picked us up from our hotel very promptly and throughout the whole trip he was courteous kind and extremely helpful , collecting our tickets taking us to the areas ready for the tours. Adam was very efficient and friendly an extremely competent driver with a great personality. Thank you all for creating a smooth and memorable tour.
A fantastic tour. Very emotional but presented with respect and understanding. All very well organised.
We were very fortunate to get a last minute booking with KRAKOW DIRECT as our previous booking was cancelled very late . We rang Krakow Direct and the operator was very friendly and got us two tickets for April 29th . ADAM was our guide and he picked us up at the Hotel KOSSAK punctually .he was very friendly helpful , informative and patient . He played a very interesting film for us en route to Auschwitz and got us our tickets when we arrived . All in all an EXCELLENT SERVICE and I would fully endorse Krakow Direct and ADAM. Thank you for a fantastic day - Auschwitz was emotionally challenging but a MUST - SEE for all
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOUR! First we was picked up at 1430 in the afternoon. We was then told we wasn’t going to be allowed into the first camp until 1740. And then after that was told that the last shuttle bus back from the second camp would be at 19:45. So we had next to no time to go around the camps. Felt like a very rushed experience with no time to actually take in everything that was around us. And we did not have enough time to properly explore the entire camps and see everything there was to see. Do not go on this tour it is a waste of your money. I would have much rather traveled to the camps myself as there is plenty of parking on site and brought tickets on the gate.
Auschwitz & Birkenhau was a marvellous day trip with comfortable & prompt transportation. Very early start but was worth it with our guide & driver being extremely informative & pleasant. Be sure to take tissues as some of the tour is really moving & you would need a heart of stone to not become emotional. Lots of walking which became difficult towards the end as i use a walking stick.
Visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau is an incredibly moving and profound experience, and having the right guide is essential to truly grasp the weight of the history there. Our guide, Kris, was absolutely exceptional. Kris possessed an incredible depth of knowledge, sharing historical facts with profound respect and sensitivity. He guided us through the site at a thoughtful pace, allowing us time to process the magnitude of what we were seeing while ensuring we understood the context behind every location and artifact. His ability to convey such difficult history with dignity and clarity made the tour both educational and deeply impactful. I highly recommend this guided tour, and especially Kris, to anyone visiting. It is a sobering experience that stays with you, made all the more meaningful by a guide who truly honors the memory of those who suffered there.
We had a great tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau with Krakow Direct and a special thank you to Adam Cygnar our driver. He was on time, drove safely and was very polite. Thank you Adam.
We visited with our tour guide Michał who was a lovely chap who clearly cared about his passengers. He was a really knowledgeable guide. The pick up was easy just use google maps with the address given and look for the Krakow direct minibus that was really good quality and clean. One piece of advice I’d give is don’t book the tour on the day of the flight home. Times given can vary and are not known by the tour guide until tbe day before as it’s up to the museum when the time of the visit is issued and not krakow direct. Ours was 11 am initially but pick up was at 12.40. Once you know this just factor it into your plans and then see what everyone should see at least once in your life to remember what horror people can be capable of and how we shouldn’t let it happen again.
An experience I will never forget. Peter our driver and leader kept us well informed about the route and history of Auschwitz...Katrina our tour guide was excellent. Pickup and drop off ftom hotel was great. Bring a packed lunch as we found there was not enough time to stop for food.
i hope this review works couse Walker was great and deserves five stars. the whole tour was so interesting, knoladgeable, and everything on time. Memorable experience.
Booked private transfer and shared guide with Krakow Direct in September for December 2025. Great communication and easy booking system. We were driven in a black Mercedes Vito van by Patrick who was brilliant and made our tour extra special. Our collection time was 10am. He chatted to us and explained what was going to happen once we arrived and also gave a brilliant insight into life in Krakow en route. His English was really good as was his driving skills. Once we arrived at Auschwitz Patrick managed to sort out our guide Anna and we did not have to queue to go in. It was really easy. I would definitely recommend this company for all tours in Krakow as we all were really impressed with how professional it was and not like the horrror stories we kept hearing about with other companies.
A really great trip. The coach was clean and on time, Olivia was our guide with the bus but then we had a different guide for the tour. This guide was amazing and our tour was longer than it should have been as she passed on so much information - she was really knowledgeable. The only thing I'd pass on to others - my mistake really - the pick up point hotel is nothing to do with the tour, and we assumed the MPVs outside were for us, turned out it was the coach which pulled up on the opposite side of the road. We didn't miss the tour but do keep your eyes open and wits about you, the sign in the coach windscreen was quite small and not easily visible form the pavement.
I would not use this company they quote professional and friendly service, we were booked on the trip with a 0700 pick up at a different hotel to the one we were staying in, the driver called me to say he was leaving at 0702 and I asked him to wait 5 mins for us as we were in route ( our taxi was late) he refused and said they were leaving I then called the office to see if we could switch to another day and was told NO we had to rebook, the lady then advised I could email them to see if there was anything they could do and as I have now come to realise unhelpful as no response has been receIved
Excellent experience from start to finish, communication before trip great, pick up at time given. The guide on the tour was very well informed and trip even though very harrowing is a must visit. Recommend Krakow tours very highly.
I assumed, as it was out of the main tourist season, that booking a trip would be easy... Well you know what they say about assuming... Makes an ass out of u and me. About a week before we flew I started doing my research only to find most dates and operators were fully booked. I therefore contacted our hotel to see if they could assist. Luckily they use Krakow Direct who managed to squeeze us in. Total cost of the day trip for us both was £185. That included collection from the hotel, skip the queue tickets for Auschwitz and Birkenau, and a private guide (Michael - who was excellent). Around Auschwitz you do feel a bit rushed and you are herded through buildings with what feels like military precision, but that is because of the sheer volume of visitors and you only have a limited time slot. Birkenau is less rushed but a lot more walking. None the less it was exactly as you'd expect; an important and sobering reminder of not only the pure evil people are capable of but also the strength, resilience and determination people demonstrate at times of adversity and near certain death. This trip is one I think everyone should do in their lifetime at least once.
Excellent bus with around 15 people to Auschwitz then a walking tour with a very asture guide who didn't rush anything. Took around 2 hours. Then to birkenau which is about a 3km walk once off the bus. Again very poignant and a lot to learn. Krakow Direct were reliable and professional.
We used Krakow Direct for an airport transfer and also for a Auschwitz/Birkenau tour. The hotel transfer was great having arrived late at night. the driver was waiting and was very polite and professional. It was reasonable priced also. The Auschwitz tour also went smoothly. We weren’t entirely sure what to expect. We had a very early pick from our hotel at 5am by minibus, then transferred to a larger coach. When we arrived at the camp we were given our individually named tickets. The tour began around 8am. Our guide was Michael who was extremely knowledgable.
Booked the Auschwitz tour which was our main reason for travelling to Poland. Although we had a pick up time of 7.30, just be aware that that time can change, ours did for 5.45 but I’m all for an early start anyway. The transport was perfect, very clean and comfortable. Once there, you realise how popular the tours are, so prepare yourself for a long queue. When you finally get to the ticket office, you’re allocated a tour time and guide. This is where it all went down hill as all the English speaking tours were sold out. We were then given the option of a Polish speaking guide in 90 minutes or an English guide in an estimated 4 hours. After over an hour in the bus and two hours queuing the group decided to go for the first option and we went with the majority decision. Unsure what would have happened if we said no and waited for the English guide. If you’re in our position, I’d definitely wait as although you can walk around we definitely missed out on the knowledge of an experienced guide. We also had 4 in our group that paid for skip the queue which could only work if the whole group had the same idea.
I booked 2 weeks in advance only to have them cancel last minute. This meant I had to rebook a new tour and transport with even shorter notice and greater expense than what this tour operator took for themselves. Avoid this operator.
Booked tour through Krakow Direct as this company are reliable and don't cancel at last minute. Booked about 6weeks before we went, requested a tour in morning time before 1pm, the company email you the day before after 4pm to confirm pick up time. Pick up point was near hotel we were staying in, pick up time was scheduled between 12.45 -1.15pm, arrived at 1pm. Small comfortable mini bus, our driver was Trevor, very courteous. When we arrived at Austwitz, Trevor introduced us to Michael our tour guide, who gave us our entry tickets. We waited about 10 minutes then went through security entrance to begin tour. Tour lasted 90 minutes, guide was very informative. After this part we got lunch box which we ordered through Krakow Direct (substantial and saved us bringing snack with us), then travelled 10 mi.utes to Birkenau. This tour lasted 60 minutes, all outdoor walking, again very sombre reflective experience. Journey to/from Krakow was 60-90 minutes, traffic dependent. Highly recommend this company for a seamless reliable visit.
Was very very disappointed with the service and the lack of communication from the company. Before visiting Poland and when arriving at Poland I contacted on numerous occasions the company seeking clarification about our entry tickets to the camp and times and pick up point as to where it was on our return journey back to Krakow.I even got staff from the hotel we were staying in to contact the company to confirm our queries about our tour all to no avail.I kept checking my phone and also my tablet while in Krakow looking for replies to my emails and messages once again to no avail.I therefore decided as both my wife and myself being elderly visiting a foreign country not being able to speak the language and not receiving any communication about our forthcoming trip that it would be safer if we did not travel to Auschwitz . It was very disappointing especially when we had paid in advance for the trip .
We met at 6am to get to Auschwitz at about 9am. There was something of a wait to be assembled with our tour guide - we had to be checked in with passports and given a time. Given the wait, Michael took us for breakfast and a preview of the ramp near Birkenau so we weren't left 'hanging around'. The tour itself was fascinating and we saw all that there was to see, and we weren't at any time 'rushed'. We were back in Krakow at about 6pm... All in all, a great day out even if it was quite tiring. There is a lot of walking, so it may be difficult for people with mobility issues.
Did a great tour with these guys, picked us up right outside our hotel and dropped us back off. The bus driver was great ! His name was Jacob ! He went the extra mile at the end and showed us part of the train that came from Hungary at auchwitz which he didn’t have to do but we thought it was great ! The tour guide at auchwitz wasn’t great, I can not remember her name. she seemed to have read from a script and any questions we had, she had to seek advise from another guide and someone who’s studied auchwitz well, can tell the things that wearnt accurate. However JACOB was great, I would certainly recommend him !
We had an amazing experience with Jack. From the very beginning, he was professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The tour was well-organized, and Jack shared fascinating insights and stories that brought the history and culture of the place to life. Highly recommend Jack if you want a tour that’s both fun and educational!
Pick up was at 5am. Got to Auschwitz with approx 10 other tourists. Got in a queue with about 200 people in front of us at 0620. Two hours later the tour guide informed us that there was no guarantee that we would get in. Five of the group left to get a train back to Krakow. At 10.30 we got tickets for a POLISH tour ,entry time 11.45. Nobody in my group spoke Polish. The german tour (my main language) will start 15 Minutes later, and the guide says no, we cannot wait longer. When tour was finally finished we met the minibus driver and he drove us back to Krakow. Everyone felt so let down as we all thought the tickets were prebooked and they were not. The stalling by the tour guide/driver “Walker” was very disappointing. The statements changed every hour. We all imagined the day to be different.🥺 The tour of the museum was good, even if we didn't understand much. The tour guide got us a handout, but it's not the same
Auschwitz tour - we also booked this tour before hand as well. Pick up from the hotel was perfect. We were dropped off at the mini bus where Matty (Matthew) our driver was waiting. He explained everything was very polite & pleasant. Once at Auschwitz we waited while Matty when to sort out our tour guide. Everything was organised and well planned.thank you.
Very moving and informative tour . Communication by our driver good and the lady who took us round Auschwitz and Birkinau was excellent. A very moving and respectful tour
Auschwitz-Birkenau tour with Krakow Direct was amazing. Our driver was Yaro (Jaromir). The bus was spotlessly clean, on time, air conditioned and Yaro was the perfect host ensuring we got there and secured tickets for our tour. Things to note:- Auschwitz is a museum and they release minimal tickets in advance the rest are available on the day at Auschwitz only. So if you travel at peak season and don't pre-book sometime in advance then you will queue for tickets and to get in. Best chance you have is going on an early morning tour which means leaving Krakow at around 5am. This will give you the best opportunity to see the museum on the day you choose in a timely manner. The organisation at Auschwitz and your subsequent guide is not anything to do with Krakow Direct. Although our experience is that Krakow Direct will do everything they can to ensure you have the best time and are organised as a group going over and above their duties. Auschwitz and Birkenau are great museums to educate everyone on the deplorable genocide which took place effecting millions of people, I think it's a must for everyone to see to ensure it never happens again.
Wonderful day made even better by our guide named Wojtek. He was very knowledgeable and helped with all details for the day.
Krakow tours have been amazing, booked 2 tours and also pick up and drop off at the airport. Clean and comfortable cars, friendly and helpful staff. They arranged everything… 10/10
Great tour. Totally worth it. The car was comfortable and on time. Andrzej was a very informative tour leader - helped us getting around Birkenau.
Our driver Martin was really great. Very informative and helpfull. When we lost our bag he helped us a lot. Whole tour took whole day but we totally recommend it!
I booked this tour a month in advance but unfortunately it was the only one available😞Departure at 2:30 PM with a written guide in Italian. Despite my doubts, I accepted. I strongly advise against this type of tour at this time. We arrived at the camps at 4:00 PM and it was already almost dark. Inside both camps there is no lighting; you can barely see where you are stepping. We had two hours to visit both camps on our own, so we had to do everything in a rush and saw few things, and poorly at that. I took this tour at the end of October and at 4:30 PM it is already dark, which does not allow you to see anything. I would have preferred to know this and avoid experiencing such an important tour without feeling the emotions I had expected 😞 it is right that people know! The person who conducted the tour, however, was kind and reliable in driving the bus.
The explanations during booking for a self-guided tour were not very clear. We were unable to visit Birkenau due to a lack of time and a lack of information about the afternoon schedule when we were picked up by our driver. Very mixed experience...
There was no guide, just a bus driver who shared a link where you had to choose your language and read while you did the visit
Incredible experience to see this horrible part of our history. To get 5 stars we would have liked to see the older part of the mine and been a smaller group. Thirty-six people were a little too many. The trip was well planned and an extra plus for the driver who also guided us through the district. He had even arranged a reservation at a restaurant before Auschwitz.
Outing, super well organized guide very very affordable
We arrived at 4 pm at our destination and had to wait 1 hour and a half to enter as they had given us an entrance at 5.40 pm and we could not enter before...
Great warning !!! Book absolutely no excursions with KrakowDirect. Extremely rogue company !! We booked Auschwitz-Birkenau with and English guide with them. Advertised departure time 7,00 but in the afternoon the day before we were informed that the departure time had been brought forward to 5,15 !! We were told that when it was already too late to cancel. Once at Auschwitz we stood in line for 2,5 hours. Then we are told that the only thing that could be offered was entrance at 10.00. 13.00 with Polish guide. So we had to wait from 6.30 until 10.00. 13.00 to get in and since we are Swedish and absolutely do not understand Polish, the guided tour was unfortunately impossible to understand. Now, a month later, we have been informed of Krakow Direct's view of the situation. They offer 15% refund!! What a mockery. Seek other options or abstain.
Booking the visit is a piece of cake. The contact via mail and telephone is also excellent. We were picked up at a meeting point and the guide arrived neatly on time. We have indicated in advance that 1 person is in a wheelchair. This wasn't a problem. The guide was very experienced and thought along about possible problems with the wheelchair. All in all Krakow Direct is very reliable. I highly recommend them!
Departure postponed by 30 minutes, from 14:30 (departure from Krakow) to 15:00 so if on time we had to be at the entrance at 16:00. At the ticket delivery we understood the reason for the delay, they had set the entrance time at 17:20. During the trip they screened on a 21-inch TV a documentary in English with Italian subtitles, who was at the back of the bus did not see the subtitles. The driver, kind but with a bitten English, that even an English lady had difficulty understanding what he was saying. Titisism times, 1 hour and 45 for Ausckwiz 1, then take a bus to Birchenau for which you have 30 minutes to see it as at 20 you have to be back at Auschwiz 1 to catch the bus and get back. Absurd, I recommend checking well and getting tickets for museums directly.
We went to Krakow for a weekend and used Krakow Direct for transportation to and from the airport. Very pleasant service. Upon arrival, the taxi size was incorrect, but this was corrected within 10 minutes. The drivers were friendly, the taxis were clean and always on time.!!!!
