Itinerary
Visit the memorial to the final victims of Auschwitz and a mass grave of 700 prisoners shot during the camp evacuation in January 1945. Explore the area of the so-called “camp extension,” which housed new SS barracks, the last women’s camp, and the site of the final public execution.
See the first crematorium and gas chamber, the former villa of the camp commandant, and the gravel pits—sites of punishment and execution for clergy and members of the Polish intelligentsia. The tour also includes stops at the pre-war theater later used to store Zyklon B, the Polish Ramp (first prisoner transport platform), and the Old Jewish Ramp, the main selection site for European Jews.
Learn about the “Interest Zone” through maps and aerial photographs from 1944. In Birkenau, see the infamous Death Gate and the main SS barracks. The extermination zone includes Bunker 1 (Red House), Bunker 2 (White House), the remains of dressing rooms for victims, and a cemetery of Soviet POWs.
View the Sauna building used for prisoner disinfection and belongings processing. The tour concludes at the memorial to victims of Auschwitz-Monowitz (Auschwitz III), offering a broader understanding of the camp system and the scale of the atrocities.

Olek was great, when i had provlem day before he was easy to communicate with and provided the information. Made ut all a seamless process. Thabks again olek!
Driver George is very attentive and helpful, in addition to being very friendly and kind to my family. and our tour was very well guided and with many explanations about the history of Auschwitz.
Olek our private driver, was very kind and welcoming, 5* couldn't recommend anymore
This was the second time I’ve used Olek, and both experiences have been excellent. He kept us informed by text the night before and let me know when he was on his way, which made everything smooth and stress-free. The Hilton first recommended him, and I’m very glad they did. I highly recommend Olek!
Brilliant day out for myself and my wife. The driver who took us and brought us back was brilliant. Very professional from picking us up, sorting tickets out etc. The your was great and I learnt alot more today of the camp than I thought I would of done.
Worthless, waste of time and cheated by both Headout and Comfort Tours Crackow: They charged us $900 CAD for 4 adults and in the last minute told us they could not give us a tour of Auschwitz and Berkenau from the inside - that if we could settle for a limited viewing they would reimburse us 20 %. What we got was utter rubbish for $720 CAD - a very sophisticated form of a scam. We spent 2 hours 30 minutes twiddling our thumbs at a museum that had little or nothing to do with Auschwitz and Berkenau.
Having booked this tour thinking we were paying through the nose for the tour because of the closure on the day after we had arranged - we were advised we would be collected at 0900 hrs but final time would be confirmed on the day prior. As I hadn't heard anything I text them asking for confirmation of pickup time to be told it would be 1450 hrs. I queried whether that was correct as the site closed at 1800 hrs and the tour was promoted as a 7 hour tour with 3.5 hrs on site - I was reassured that the closing time was the last time for entry to the site. Thinking that we would then be arriving at circa 1600-1630 - I took their word that it would be ok. A big mistake on my side. The bus turned up on time but then spent 1.50 hrs driving around Krakow centre collecting people and passing my hotel a further 3 times - I queried with the driver who said the tour guide was booked for 1720 hrs !! I checked the traffic details and it was showing an arrival time at circa 1800 hrs - and as it went dark at 1930 - it was clear that we would not be getting what we had paid for - a cost of £260 for two people was an excessive charge but we thought worth it if we got the tour. We then said we wanted to get off the bus and wanted a refund to which the driver said ok he will tell his boss and we should get in touch with him. Looking at one of the other people on the tour putting their review on here it was clear that there was no guide and the maximum they had was 1 .5 hrs before it was dark and they had to return. It was bad enough that we didn't get to see the site but the company has offered a measley 20% refund via the booking agents Tiqet app - and seem to have put us on block and now refusing to respond to our mails - Tiqet also have been a big disappointment on this as they are dragging their heels to get an answer on a refund - merely saying they are waiting a response from Comfort Tours even though it was Tiqet who took the booking. If you want to do this tour - stay away from Comfort Tours - and even if you can't find an alternative would suggest you don't bother at all - this company just takes your money and promises a decent tour but doesn't hold up their side of the agreement !
George was our driver, and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough. He is a genuinely nice and polite person who made the experience even more enjoyable. What really stood out was how he went out of his way to show us a different part of the tour so we could see the original carriages from Auschwitz, which was incredibly meaningful and memorable. His professionalism and kindness made a lasting impression, and I would absolutely rate his service 10 out of 10.
Olek was a wonderful driver and ensured that we arrived at the Memorial on time and helped us navigate the otherwise confusing entrance situation. Would definitely recommend him and Komfort Krakow!
Great tour with Olek, very good experience. He was very friendly, attentive and responsible guide. It's a pleasure take tours with people Who enjoy their work and It IS shows.
We arranged a 7am pick up. The afternoon the day before our tour this was changed to 4am. No refund was given even though I have a message to say we would get a full refund
Patryk Was a great driver and friendly. Patiently waited for us and our elder relative. Tour was impressive and got us immersed in gruesome living conditions prisoners experienced.
Lovely experience. Driver was a gentlemen - name was Patryk. We also colour coordinated our outfits haha! Thanks again :)
Our driver was Olek and we had a very good experience, he was nice and friendly. My daughter and I were able to sit back relax and enjoy the scenery on our journey.
Our driver was Olek, he was great and very helpful as well as being very knowledgeable. He was a credit to your company and looked after us
Great day thanks a million to our driver George! Very well organised and no problems at all with it, would highly recommend to anyone thinking of going!
Absolutely perfectly organized. Viator took care of everything. We opted for a private driver who was right on time, very informative about Krakow and Poland, and a pleasure to talk with. The Auschwitz tour is conducted by museum staff and was very informative and well organize.
I came here with my mum who has always wanted to go since she was little and I can say our driver Greg made the whole experience so much easier and he was so lovely. There was constant information given from the start to finish of the tour and Greg was on time with picking us up☺️
Pick up at hotel, no waiting in lines, very efficient but costs more than most of the other tours. For me a good value.
Your tickets are not prebooked - despite the description advising that the driver will give them to you. We wee picked up at 8am and when tickets "finally " secured we got a 3.30 entry to a 3 hour tour. Tour was fantastic but be very careful who you book with
Excellent service from ComFort Tours Cracow. Our driver Daniel had great communication skills. He contacted us the day before our trip to ensure we had our travel schedule and available lunch options. Daniel was punctual, polite and a careful driver. We would highly recommend Daniel and the company for any excursion. Thank you very much.
The tour was very interesting, specially Piotr, our driver ,he was always kind , explaining everything and very professional for what he was doing. Excellent driver. I recommend him for the new clients
Do not book a tour to Aushwitz-Birkenau with this company. For this kind of visit you need a company that is professional, that you can trust and which treats you with respect, which was not the case. To me this visit was a once in a lifetime one and I was expecting professionalism given the exceptional circumstances. Sadly this was not the case. I booked the tour via the hotel and was initially quoted a price, which then went up. It clearly said on the leaflet that we would get a guided tour for the day. I assumed one was going to be assigned to our group and I was not the only one to assume so since one member of the group thought I was going to be the guide... When we got to destination we had to wait and the driver basically went up to the ticket office and bought tickets (we could have done that ourselves) and a little booklet worth 25pln because there was no English tour guide available!! My group was English speaking. We got a French guide and luckily, I speak French. But I felt guilty towards the other members of the group and tried to translate what I could but it wasn't possible after all or I would miss most of the information myself. I wanted to be part of a group and not be alone there. I wanted to be able to exchange and share and reflect. That was the point of booking a tour. Otherwise I could have gone by myself. We were told lunch would be offered to compensate (when I thought that was included in the price). I'm sorry but a sandwich cannot compensate not getting a tour guide at Auschwitz-Birkenau. I cannot believe I am having to spell it out but this is not an entertainment park. The driver was so keen to give me my sandwich after the first part of the tour that I lost my guide and the rest of the group except for one member who could not understand a word since there was no English guide, or anything that was happening. I was told by the driver that I needed to take the shuttle to Birkenau and meet them there after lunch. I did that but could never find the tour guide anymore. I tried calling the driver who told me to just go in and try and find her. Or to join another group. I later found out that this was not my driver as there was a mix-up in numbers (?!). I was still being accompanied by the member of the group who could not understand what was happening and instead of being guided by the driver had to follow me. I was feeling very stressed out by then. We both eventually found the other members of the group but I completely missed out on the second part of the tour. We all got back to Krakow and explained to the driver that we did not feel we should pay the full amount since most of the group did not get a tour guide in English and I only got half of it (and did not get the group experience I was looking for). The price seemed very steep (350 pln) for what was basically private transport and a sandwich. The driver drove off with the rest of my lunch bag and the booklet in French after repeatedly telling me in front of others that "You are French and you just take money". I think he was referring to the fact that I should be happy because luckily I got half the tour in French and that I should be satisfied. But given the circumstances and the fact we were visiting Auschwitz I found those remarks appalling and that’s an understatement. I am not sure the company understands what it’s doing and the professionalism and solemnity that is required for such a visit. It will add a layer or unnecessary disappointment when the company should have organised the tour in a way that it was barely noticeable so that we could focus on the visit instead of them.
Originally, we had gone through another Operator (transport and Birkenau visit) who finally let us down at the last moment... In extremis, we contacted ComFort Tours Cracow, and they saved our day! In 30m, they managed to send Dominik, who stayed with us all day long... Quality transport (7 people), attentive, little extras on site, and even during our visit in the camp, attention on our return with 7 food boxes for all of us. Dominik was considerate, discreet and extremely attentive... This operator was able to respond in a very short time, and once again soothe our immense disappointment with the previous and so cavalier operator. Thank you to all of you, and especially thank you to Dominik... (which unanimously received its well-deserved extra)... If we come back, we'll call you back... Well done!!!
Jakub provided a real life type of information about the Death Camp and Gas chambers! Even though it was raining on Apr 24 he and the group forged ahead to learn about the event of 1942-1945. I would highly recommend this tour to others that want and need to learn more about the persecution of the Jewish people! Colonel Jack Paschal, US Air Force Retired
Jakob is an excellent tour guide A lot of walking so bring food and comfy shoes. Appropriate clothing for weather is a must
Auswitz tour with Jacob who was so knowledgeable, everything was delivered in a sensitive and genuine manner. He was desperate for everyone to grasp the full horrors of what went on here and to emphasise that similar things are happening again. Sobering but essential thing to do when visiting Krakow. Pick up was changed from 6.30 to 5.40 pick up but communication excellent and all in time. Would recommend. Did salt mines same day but due to early start and the start of second tour at 3.15, would probably recommend doing separate days if time allowed as we didn't get maximum benefit from salt mines as we're really too tired.
The whole experience was incredible and very interesting, the transport was also very convenient and comfortable, our driver Olek was very friendly and picked us up at our hotel and had packed lunches to offer us if we needed one, he brought us to the camps and between the two camps, and home the van was very comfy and it made the experience so much easier :)
Thank you to Sebastian our driver for collecting us and taking us back again. Definitely a tour you must do when visiting Krakow and a fantastic service from ComFort tours. Thanks again Sebastian
Our driver Piotr dropped us perfectly in time for the start of the tour, and when it was over, he was waiting for us. We skipped the line for get the tickets and the ride was so confortable. The Auschwitz tour is tough. But travelling is learning, and there are tough things to learn. Eveybody knows what happened there, but experience it in person is different. A must.
We booked our Auschwitz Tour through ComFort Tours Cracow who were very organised. The guided tour was very informative and gave knowledge with great compassion. Communication from this tour was great. Olek kept us up to date regarding entry, pick up points and exiting Auschwitz. Thank you to Olek and his team for a great tour!
Booked this tour, Daniel was our driver, excellent Comms before and during the excursion, minibus was extremely clean and smelt fresh... Translator for the tour was great and very knowledgeable, deffo recommend ordering the lunch in advance as this wasn't clear but we arrived back at 2pm so plenty of time to go to cafe and get lunch. Would deffo recommend
I booked a tour with this company the night before the tour date. I received an acknowledgement followed by instructions which I duly followed the following day, driving myself from krakow, arriving 15 minutes early. There were no further instructions once I arrived at the museum entrance. Upon calling the company they sounded disorganized and said that they were going to reach out to the tour guide and call me back. Once the time for the tour came and went (20 minutes later) I called them several times but this time with no response. Eventually I had to go to the ticket office and buy myself a new ticket for a later tour. Highly unprofessional and frustrating.
Niceeeee thanks a lot for grear experience, it was sad but everybody have to see it in my opinion:)))
The driver Daniel was on time to pick us up. He was very friendly and helpfull. He makes sure that we were in group for the guide. It was very interesting and we saw and learned a lot. Thank you.
This is an emotionally difficult place to visit, and it's about an hour's drive outside of Krakow. Our driver, Daniel, was excellent. He picked us up at our hotel, made sure that we were comfortable, the car (Audi) was immaculate, and he chose a pretty, pleasant route. He also took the time to get us to the airport rather than back to the hotel, as we'd requested, and stopped for water and showed us a bit more than was on the tour at the end. He really took good care of us - I cannot say enough about what a good job he did. The tour agency itself could not get private tickets that day, since we booked very close to the time we wanted a tour, so we had to use the camp's own guides as part of a large group tour. The company went above and beyond so we didn't have to wait at the entrance. I think this may be the norm, using the camp's guides, but I am not sure. For us, this would have been fine but our particular guide set a hard pace (he was only slowed down by the also-visiting Polish army's marching pace ahead of him), and had a very strong accent and a bitter outlook, though who could blame him, really? It made for a challenging day in the heat and we were exhausted by the end. Again, not this tour company's fault, and it was what we had to do to see the camps on very short notice. We were especially grateful to Daniel for the refreshment stop afterward, and his comfortable car. Despite the pace, we learned a lot, even though both of us had a reasonable education about what happened in Auschwitz. The camps themselves assume that you know what happened in concentration camps, generally, and give you a particular view of what happened at that camp. If you are unfamiliar with the Holocaust, I suggest you at least read a general overview before you arrive. As a child I saw the films that the US military recorded of the atrocities at this and other camps, but such graphic images were not presented at this site, only a lot of harrowing facts and evidence. I was surprised by how many people in our guided group didn't know very much about it. This tour included Auschwitz and Birkenau.
An eye opening & somber tour which must not be missed to help comprehend the immense scale of the evil & inhumane activities at the death camps. Our driver Olek was very good and the tour guide was excellent. Tom Grainger Vancouver BC
The convenience of the hotel pickup and private transport was unmatched in any other tour I have done. The driver Olek was very helpful in every way. Brilliant tour and very thought provoking
We joined the tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau with transportation and hotel pick up. The driver , Sebastian, was super kind and helpful. My daughter gets carsick easily. He let her sit at the front seat of the car and talked to her friendly, trying to make her feeling better. He also drove slowly and safely. When my daughter threw up in the end, he was still very kind and even offered to dispose the sick-bag. After the tour of Auschwitz, he was waiting for his tour members at the gate and taught us where to get the bus to Birkenau. When we returned from the tour of Birkenau, he was also waiting for us at the bus stop and took us to his car. Our hotel didn’t tell us we need ID to enter Auschwitz-Birkenau. So, only my husband had his driver license with him. He called his colleague immediately and gave us information that one ID is enough for a family. The tour was very comfortable. He is a great driver and very good person.
We were very happy with our tour, a comfortable trip from Krakow directly to Auschwitz and Damian was very accommodative in sourcing our lunch and managing large queues in the cold. A trip made very easy and enjoyable, thanks Damian!
We had a very informative and exceptional experience with this tour. Mateusz knows everything about krakow and told us many inside informations about the city. We can really recommend him and wish him all the best! Thank you for the experience
I loved the service! Confortable, punctuality, clean vehicle and good driver. Michal was the driver, and it’s a really good professional, good driving and he’s very kind. Highly recommended!
Very nice tour to Auschwitz and Birkenau. The nice taxi driver Olek who drove us in a very calm and safe way. He took care of us nicely throughout the trip. Get tickets and introduce us to the Guide. Waited outside and delivered our lunch package. Can really recommend and thank Comfort Tours and our driver Olek for a pleasant experience. Lennart and Ann-Kristin Lindberg Claes and Ingegerd Claesson
A memorable experience. Well arranged with driver Olek who picked us up at the hotel and showed us where we were going and drove us on to birkenau when we were done with Auswitch. Nice and good driver. Clean and fresh car. Everything has been great 👍 Can warmly recommend this setup.
Good driver! A quiet and pleasant trip, Patrick has always awaited us during the various visits. I'd definitely wake him up again.
Olek is a fabulous driver. He has helped us on our trip with all the recommendations he has made and has given us a lot of information about the visit. Highly recommended
Daniel was our driver. He made a lot of effort to make the transfer and the stay as pleasant as possible, thank you very much. Very comfortable and modern vehicle. We can only recommend the company and Daniel. Best regards, Andi and Patric
The transport was very good with a friendly and good driver. Then Camp 1 was very interesting. The English interpreter was not always easy to follow. Then to camp 2 Birkenau where the tour lasted up to 30 minutes despite the fact that it is immense and there was definitely more to see and tell.
Overall everything was perfect, the driver was friendly and helpful throughout. The only problem was an initial delay of about an hour, but otherwise you cannot try to do better. Really recommended.
