What a moving experience-We were shown pretty much everything there was to see and there were some very graphic artefacts which are quite shocking, especially when our guide explained what was going on behind them. We were able to enter many of the buildings, the crematoria that were left and at Birkenau the barracks. Our guide was fantastic by the way and very knowledgable, she literally didn’t stop talking.- So informative! You need to keep up with your group or you can easily get lost amongst other tours, but the headsets they provide you with allow you to hear your guide clearly even when you can’t always see them. Everybody should see Auschwitz and Birkenau- it’s a very real, stark and haunting reminder of recent history. If we don’t learn the lessons, it could so easily be repeated.

When you arrive at your destination, you will be met by your professional guide and enter the site at Auschwitz I. Walk through the famous gate to the camp, bearing the inscription, "Arbeit macht frei", meaning "Work sets one free", and take the same route as the prisoners that were brought here during the Nazi Holocaust. After exploring the Auschwitz I complex, your driver will meet you again and take you by bus for the short journey to nearby Birkenau (Auschwitz II) where your tour will continue. From start to finish this tour was very well organized. This is the second time we’ve done this tour with the same company. It was even better this time. Michal who took us to Auschwitz kept us well informed of timings. Our guide around both sites was incredibly knowledgeable. I learnt even more this time.
Highly recommend this trip. Great communication from the driver for collection. Clean vehicle for travel. The tour itself was very informative and well led.
Two years ago I visited the Dachau and Sachsenhausen concentration camps in Nazi Germany, and was impressed by the outstanding guide. But I was very disappointed with my guide at the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp in Poland in September 2021. She was a native of Osviecim, the Polish city where the camp is located. She was so soft-spoken that it was difficult to hear her at Birkenau, where there was no audio recording. She recited the correct facts at each stop on the tour, but showed little emotion about the extermination of 1.1 million people there. She also did not appreciate anyone asking her questions, it appeared as if she was there for a pay check and nothing else. There should be better screening of applicants for guide positions. Viator and your local partner should pay more attention to which guide works with the people on your tours.
Perfectly organised tour. Pick up on time with a friendly driver and comfortable transport. The tour guide was fantastic. Highly recommend. Communication prior with the tour agency was responsive and helpful. Highly recommended agency/tour.
We’re collected from hotel on time and transferred to Auschwitz in a small minibus. Very good tour of Auschwitz- lots to see and guide was very informative. Very moving. Could perhaps have spent slightly longer but we were guided through all the main areas. Went onto the second site of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Unfortunately weather was appalling so tour here was shorter also a bit difficult to hear the guide properly. It was definitely rushed which is a real shame as the scale of the place is hard to believe.
Very moving experience not so much what you see as how it makes you feel. Viator was brilliant excellent taxi pick up and very informative guide
Our guide was compassionate, informative and we enjoyed hearing about the non-Jews as they are so often neglected in this historical event. Wanda
From pick up to drop off it was a great experience The guide at the museum was really passionate about the subject matter it made the day
I could not recommend our visit highly enough. The booking itself was easy with a choice of dates and times. We were picked up from our hotel at the allotted time which was confirmed as per booking, the day before. Our driver Matt was knowledgeable, courtious, friendly and on time. Our guide for the visit was Anya. She was amazing, enthusiastic, spoke very good English and she enthused the history of Auswitch. She brought to life the emotions that the victims of Auswitch went through. It is our third visit with Viator and would highly recommend them
Thank's a lot Anna and the rest of the team for a remarkable visit and good service in this unforgetable place. An amazing guide and a really nice driver. This trip will be remembered for all times,... and a very special thought for those who survived ...
This place is worthy visit and all the guides explained the history with details. Such a meaningful tour
We had a great day trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the trip was interesting from start to finish due to our guide Piotr. My Nan who is 91 came on the trip with my wife and I. We learned so much on the trip to Auschwitz as Piotr was full of great facts and history about everything we saw. It was just as fascinating to hear about Poland before the wall came down and my Nan could see comparisons to rationing after WWII in the UK. Auschwitz and Birkenau is such a hard hitting place and it's so difficult to get your head around the atrocity, the shear size of Birkenau takes your breath away as you realise the scale of the what took place. I had read the Tattooist of Auschwitz a month before and my Nan told us tales of what she saw in the war in cinemas when the reported on the camps. Seeing how many people visit is good and the fact that people are coming from all over the world to learn and remember stands out in your minds eye.
Prompt pick up from our appartment, a pleasant and more than helpful driver in Patrick A. The day itself was an eye opener and our tour guide Marcin was fantastic with a wealth of knowledge, expensive at £150 between two of us but worthwhile experience of Auschwitz.
Visiting Krakow its a must to also visit Auschwitz. This tour is cheap, convienient (hotel pick up) and above all gives you a very good guide telling you all there is to know. Highly recommended.
Our driver, Piotr, was not just a great driver but very informative and accommodating, as well. The tour guide was wonderful. A five star tour.
We booked this tour on line prior to our visit in February. The booking was simple and the communication via email was faultless. The price of the tour was reasonable too. The driver picked us up on time from our hotel in a comfortable vehicle and took us to Auschwitz informing us on the route of any historic sights. Our guide on the tour was very knowledgeable at both Auschwitz and Birkenau and the journey back was effortless. The whole day lasted about 6-7 hours. We did arrange through the driver a further tour the following day on an elongated golf buggy (for want of a better phrase) to the Jewish quarter and the Ghetto. We arranged a time and again the femake driver was very prompt and due to it being a cold day clean blankets were provided. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours and was again very informative and comfortable. I would highly recommend this tour service, trustworthy, polite, knowledgeable and at a reasonable price!!!
I took a day trip to Auschwitz. Driver and tour guide Daniel are great. Have i nice trip today.......

Experienced tour who really knew his stuff. Our mini driver was also very friendly and also was able to give further details about krakow. Would definately use this company again.

This tour was brilliant cannot fault the tour guide that we were put with at all. Marcin who was our tour guide for the day was brilliant, he spoke amazing English and explained everything in depth, me & my partner both had the best day it was very interesting. Would definitely recommend booking this tour with you again! Patryk our driver was very punctual and friendly, he was on time to pick us up and also spoke very good English. although we waited around for 20 minutes for a couple who decided not to show he kept his patience and still managed to get us there 15 mins before the tour started. Overall a very good day :)

The guide was brilliant - very informative and so respectful for Auschwitz. He wanted to explain and ensure you were aware of the basic knowledge.
It is eye opening and really is a must see.

We went on a tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau with Poland Active and we would not recommend it. The guide was a Polish nationalist and made numerous inappropriate comments. He hardly mentioned Jewish people murdered in the camps and focused on the Polish victims. Very disappointing.

A very well organised tour, an excelente driver and a guide with a great knowledge delivering the history full of emotion

A great mini tour! There were just 6 of us in the minivan that picked us up and we were joined by a bigger group at Auschwitz-Birkenau. The duration is ideal with the guide being knowledgeable and providing excellent information on the place. Would definitely recommend these guys!

Travel to Auschwitz on time. Short time only to wait for a English tour. Excellent guide. Whole experience very humbling, but a must to undertake so that we never forget those who perished there and pray that nothing like it ever happens again

This excursion has been an absolute failure and has thrown away the main reason for our trip to Krakow. We arrived at the meeting point 15 minutes before the scheduled time and no one showed up. We waited more than an hour, without a single clear explanation. All because, we were told afterwards, there was a communication failure between the company I booked with and the tour provider. That mistake of yours left us lying. We were only two people, something very easy to relocate, and yet they were not able to give us a real solution. They tried to offer us another ticket for the next day and even they couldn’t manage it. The result: ruined trip and the most important missed visit. We came expressly to be able to go to Auschwitz and, because of this bad organization, we have not been able to do so. I do not intend to recommend this excursion to anyone. If you depend on them, you run the very real risk of being stood up just like us. There was no professionalism or responsibility here.
Very well organized a driver picked us up and dropped us off in front of our accommodation. The guide was able to share historical elements and interesting anecdotes while answering questions. Only downside too fast break time to have lunch 10 min barely time to go from the museum to Birkenau.
A must if you are near to see the fascinating auswitch. A lot of history and good guides. On your way there you 'll see the countryside . Affordable excursion
My daughter and I booked a trip at the hotel where we stayed. Was picked up at 07:40, back to the hotel about 15:30. Picked up people from different hotels. We were only 10 who traveled together in a minibus. Great to be a little travel companion. Nice driver. A documentary was shown on the bus. Been greeted by the experienced and skilled guide, Lucas, at Auschwitz 1. After about 1.5 hours drive, we drove to Birkenau (3 min away). The tour in Birkenau took about 1 hour. A strong and important day, many impressions. Minneric and teaching!
