Booked the salt mine tour through get your guide 5weeks before our trip on book on book now pay later ! I paid a week later after reading several reviews about cancellations the day before trips ! I was nervous after reading reviews about Cracow visit and tours transfers !! Honestly ??? We had no problems at all ! I booked for 3pm . The day before I received a WhatsApp from Cracow tours and a msg with GYG informing me that pick up time from my chosen pick up destination was 2:35pm and what bus to look out for ! We arrived at 220pm (i like to be early) and we was straight on the bus ! Took an hour to get there due to heavy traffic and waiting on other passengers ! At 345 we was told to be at our waiting line for 3:55 as your would be 4pm! This gave us time to use the toilets before entering the mine ! Once inside you’re giving a headphone and a device to wear to be able to hear the tour guide ! There was about 20 of us ! The tour was amazing ! Amd our guide Mike wss very knowledgeable ! Theres also a toilet stop half way round too ! Lots of steps (800) in total to go down ! Your underground so expected and does state on tour ! A lift for 8 ppl brings you back up at the end! No problems experienced ! Cracow visit tours and transfers didn’t disappoint !!

This has been one of the worst experiences I have had with a tour operator. We specifically booked the Salt Mine tour with a meeting time of 9:45 AM and planned our day accordingly. After the booking had been made and paid for, we were informed that the meeting time had been changed to 8:40 AM because this was apparently the only morning availability. When I objected and asked them either to honour the time we had booked or refund the payment, the response was simply that their terms state that the starting time may change depending on guide availability. In my view, this is completely unacceptable. There is a significant difference between a minor adjustment to a tour time and selling a tour for a specific time and subsequently moving it by more than an hour because the originally advertised time is not actually available. Had 8:40 AM been shown when we booked, we would not have purchased this tour. A disclaimer hidden in the booking conditions should not, in my opinion, be used as justification for advertising one time, accepting payment and then unilaterally imposing a materially different time afterwards. The customer service afterwards made the experience even worse. Rather than offering a reasonable solution, we were effectively told to accept the changed time. I consider this practice deeply misleading and the customer service exceptionally poor. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone booking with this company to be extremely careful about relying on the time displayed when making the reservation. A booked time should mean something. If you cannot provide that time, do not sell it.
Not serious professionals services
Avoid this company. They also operate under the name Royal Cracow, so be sure to check those reviews as well. We booked a 9:00am trip, only for them to wait until the cancellation window had passed before informing us that it had been moved to 12:50pm. There was no apology, no attempt to offer an alternative, and no concern whatsoever for the inconvenience caused. Their response was essentially, “You should have read the small print.” As a result, all of our evening plans had to be rearranged and parts of our trip were completely disrupted. Customer service was non-existent, and the whole experience felt incredibly unfair and misleading. I would strongly recommend booking with a more reputable operator.
this was one of the best trips i have ever had
Trip was so amazing!! I really enjoyed looking at place that's very important in Poland's history. I thinm that the trip was so cheap. I was there for a week. I would like to do it again. This trip was amazing, but the atmosphere in Aushwitz terrifying and fascinating at the same time. I like to listen about history and im interested in worl wars. The number of people was okay, I didn't feel crowded. I think everyone should see that place but not in the age of 6 or 7. I liked the staff. My husband wanted me to go with my friend there and im so grateful for this.
This trip it was amazing! I highly recommend it!
Really good tour, everything was well organized and on time. And both places were very impressive. Worth it.
To start, the google calendar invite sent by Viator says this experience begins at 9 am. The day before the tour, I received a message telling me to arrive at a bus stop at 5:30 am. Also the day before my tour, I was informed that the Salt Mine portion of the tour had been cancelled and we would be refunded 25%. I had purchased a lunch option and confirmed my selection over messaging the day before the tour, then when lunch was handed out the very next day, my option was not available. It is unclear whether it was given to someone else or if it was never really an option to start with, but regardless resulted in my being unable to eat the meal I paid for and ordered. I have nothing but great things to say about guides Ziggy and Karina, they were absolutely lovely. They were both very knowledgeable, kind, and answered questions well. This review should not reflect them at all. Had it not been for them, I would have rated lower. I am less than impressed with the company that organized and scheduled the tour. From scheduling fumbles to meal errors, this tour was a mess.
We almost didn’t show up after reading some recent reviews, but our experience was extremely positive. We did get a text message rescheduling our pick up from 6:30 to 9:50. The minibus arrived exactly on time and we were handed a proper ticket with our name before we even boarded. The guide, “Jack” was incredible. He gave factual information but more importantly conveyed the horrors of the place with real emotion and respect. My 16 year old who’s perpetually bored was enthralled. He also communicated clearly about logistics and the day’s schedule. Note our tour was just Auschwitz-Birkenau without the salt mines, which I think was perfect. I imagine adding the salt mine be an exhausting day. Also tip that Birkenou is in the full sun for an hour; bring a hat. The lunchbox was also good.
We arrived late on sunday not realy prepared i.e without tickets. We contacted Travelmine and they solved tours to both Mine and Auswitch by Monday. The cars arrived on time for both tours and the guides where great.
I would have loved to write a review about this tour, but that would’ve only been possible if we actually got picked up. Between Getyourguide and Cracow Tours and transfers the customer service is non-existent. They updated the time of the bus pick up but all the emails sent had the original time except for 1 little tiny line in the sea of emails with the title of the email still stating the original time. The last email sent at 11:43pm the evening before the tour still had the original time and not the updated time. Between the 2 platforms neither took responsibility and when we contacted customer service we were offered no alternatives, had the phone put down on us and were just given some poor excuse of “we tried to contact you”. I’ve been on a fair number of tours and this has by far been the most disappointing in terms of customer service.
I booked this tour several weeks ago for our group of 3 in anticipation that it was going to be a genuine worthwhile trip during our short stay in Krakow for the 1st of November while also being aware that the 1st was a public holiday. I received an email on the 30th of October informing me that the Tour was "Cancelled" which left us very disappointed. We then tried our hotel reception / information desk and also online to see if it was possible to get any other similar tour to Auschwitz for which we were informed that it was too late and not possible at such short notice, however we were successful in getting to the Salt Mines. So if using this site be very careful not to be left disappointed as we were.
Auschwitz-Birkenau is a sad part of history. It's very moving to see it and hear all of the history and stories. Jacek was a wonderful guide. There is alot of walking on this tour, so, if you have any kind of mobility issues, you need to be aware. The Wieliczka Salt Mine was uplifting after such a deep tour like Auschwitz. It's beautiful! Again, if you have mobility issues, you will not be able to do this tour. You start off by initially taking hundreds of steps down. Lots of walking and more stairs when you get down. It's worth it if you don't have issues because it's interesting and beautiful. Doing both tours in the same day makes for a long day, but it's so worth it! You could also arrange 2 separate tours. Regardless, you can skip your workout for the day because you will get plenty of steps in.
We went to Auschwitz-Birkenau with Myron. Very kind driver and always on time during the day of visit. He was also available to guide to the entrance of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camps by walking. The driving mood was quiet. I suggest to sit in the first line or on the side with single seat if you suffer from car trips.
Really good tour but a very long day. Tour guides and drivers were very nice. Communication was brilliant. Good value for money.
Pickup was booked at 8:00 and the day before the tour was told it would be at 04:50. We arrived to Auschwitz at 6:00 and didn't enter until 09:30, so this early pickup didn't make sense as we had to wait for way too long outside the camp. Also, even if tickets are included, they were not booked in advance (hence why we couldn't get earlier tickets than 09:30am). The tour itself was provided by the Auschwitz and Salt Mine guides (not by this tour). So in reality what you're getting is just a drive from Krakow to the sites and back. No fault to the driver though, he was excellent.
Was an amazing experience, was given plenty of information through WhatsApp from the driver on updated times and what the car description was waiting, I had a comfortable journey to Auschwitz, burkenau and the salt mines the journey time was extended due to protesters in the city and the driver found the quickest route possible. ✌🏼 The driver provided us with all information on times to return, lunch times and when our tour was, we was provided with the group number and English tour guide and headphone at Auschwitz. All together this was a very comfortable day and would recommend to anyone. ✨
A great all day trip. Pick up was earlier than advertised, however everyone had a nap on way to first stop. Coach trip to first two sites then smaller group on minibus to salt mines. A lot of walking involved, be prepared. Tour guides very informative at all sites. Lunchbox was delicious. Would recommend this trip if only away for weekend. Fell asleep at 19.30 back at hotel after all the walking.
Well organised trip at Auschwitz with headsets but due to the size of the group (31) and the amount of walking, we sometimes missed the guides explanations as she'd started b4 we arrived, same at the Sallt Mines, great day overall though 👍
We got to see the 2 promised locations, and transported there and back. But the “tour” itself is more just a transportation service. It lacked a little organisation, and we were stood around at times wondering what’s happening. The driver was just that - a driver who handed out tickets and gave very little information in hard to understand english sometimes. The only opportunity to have lunch is on the actual bus after the first tour, by which time you are starving. (You have to bring your own or order it from them before.) The bus was full of crumbs already from previous tours already so it just seems like a flawed system. We got to Auschwitz an hour early and were waiting around having “free time” in freezing cold in their poorly equipped parking lot which only had one working coffee vending machine. (So you spend all your free time queuing with nowhere to sit). Not the tour company’s fault - but such a strange choice. On the way back to the salt mines the bus stops and we had to move to a mini-van to go to the salt mines. The announcement to move from the bus to the van was so vague that we were a bit confused, so I totally see why the previous reviews said that they missed it. But the drivers did seem to check and double check that the right names/people got on the van after. For both locations, an in-house tour guide takes over and we meet the drivers back at the buses, so overall it seems like the only benefits of booking the trips this way is to get transported there and back and have someone book and hand over the tickets. Be sure to bring snacks. The entire day lasted about 11-12 hours, and the quick breaks are usually not enough to get anything more substantial than a hot drink and quick bite (other than the lunch on the bus that’s on the way to the salt mines).
Tour guide was a bit of a smug. Driver/ tour guide of salt mine group didnt care to give any details. Just handed out the ticket. Everything was rushed so the salt mine group can catch the salt mine tour Turned out that the salt mine tour is at 17:00 Given that time, the departure time should be an hour later so more time to see Auscwitchz 1 and 2 or at a slower pace. Lack of coordination of the tour guide/s and drivers.
Both places are definitely worth visiting, but the lack of organisation by the tour provider was horrendous. We were informed the day before (less than 24 hours so no refunds at this point) that our start time was being changed from 8.30am to 6.10am. I understand a slight change, but 2.5 hours is ridiculous. The tour was two full buses of 60 people so the company was definitely aware of ticket availability more than 24 hours before. Way too many people on the buses for Auschwitz so getting everyone back on time was problematic at every stop. The Auschwitz/Salt mine joint tour didn't actually exist - they just linked two independent tours. The 15 or so of us who were doing both were left at a petrol station and told to wait for another minibus/driver. He arrived after half an hour and told us we had to wait a further half hour for another bus to drop more people off who were joining us. Worth visiting both places, but avoid 'Cracow Visit' as a tour company - terrible organisation, constant waiting around in the freezing cold, and zero customer service. The whatsapp telling us of the time change also clearly stated that failure to turn up at that time would mean no refunds. Complete scam.
What a wonderfully organised trip. Very informative. Thanks very much. Bus operators were exactly on time and everything ran like clockwork
We went to Auschwitz-Birkenau and when we were heading to the Salt Mines the bus stopped to divide the people going to Kraków and the ones going to the Mines. They didn't even check everyone was in the right bus. We lost our money and couldn't go to the Salt Mines and they didn't give us a solution or at least a refund of the ticket price and they were also so disrespectful saying it was our fault when the normal thing in a tour is to check that everyone in the list is inside the bus. The worst experience ever.
Brilliant trip, great value for money especially with all the transport included! Everything went smoothly. Lovely tour guides.
Excellent informative tours with friendly drivers. A long day but we’ll worth it. Well organised. Auschwitz in the morning and salt mine in the afternoon.
Really well organised and enjoyable tour! Would really recommended. Jam packed day though, you wouldn’t want to be tired.
Great day but long excellent guides for both a wealth of knowledge had no lunch so bring plenty of snacks well worth it
A very moving experience our tour guide was so passionate and his knowledge was amazing. He really made this a most memorable experience. The salt mines were amazing..lots of walking so wear comfortable footwear and very warm so wear layers so you can take layers off! Highly recommend! We did both tours in one day…very tiring but thoroughly enjoyed our day!
robert and zegi were our tour guides and they were very informative and knowledgeable about the history and this was an experience that i would always remember and reflect on of what our ancestors have went through and the sacrifices they made to achieve where we are today.
It was a very long day doing both in one day. Auschwitz was very interesting and definitely worth the visit. We didn’t really enjoy the salt mines as much and to be honest couldn’t wait for the tour to be over. Guides and transport were excellent.
Even though it was around a 12 hours tour, we enjoyed all the experiences. Had to walk a lot (Auschwitz I, Auschwitz-Birkenau and the salt mine) but this was our choice. You can, also, see them separately, in different days. Good organisation of the tour.
The amount of information was brilliant everything was explained in full detail. Seeing the places the people slept was so sad Only thing I will say when booking a tour you pick your location to be picked up from and we got a text to say that it was not the pick up point that we had to meet somewhere else
Great tour, it was a long day getting picked up at 8am and not getting back till 8pm but worth it. The coach to Auschwitz was comfortable, and was kept well informed was given a good tour around Auschwitz with a knowledgeable guide before a small break before a quick drive to birkenau camp and a slightly shorter tour around there. We finished that part of the tour around 3pm driving back to Krakow we were delayed by some bad traffic which meant we was quickly hurried off the coach to a mini van to just make the salt mine tour in time finishing after 7 and then a drive back to Krakow
This was a well-organized day trip. It was full of information, and our guides were very knowledgeable. I think the two hours in the salt mine is excessive. Our guide was great, but a shorter tour in the salt mine would be preferable.
The tour was great! They took us on a bus to Auschwitz and had a guide take our group from there and walk through both sites with really good exhibitions and explanations. Really powerful artifacts and stories. We were then split into people going to the salt mine and those not, and I think the salt mine was very interesting as well. We were also taken to a guide who explained about the mine, which was very interesting. She spoke a little too softly but was fine if you stood close to her. (It seems both guides were employed by their respective sites, not this tour company.) We had time on the bus to eat - just make sure to bring your own lunch, though you could also buy from the tour company. The only thing that was lacking was the pickup info - I was asked over Whatsapp to change my pickup location and time twice, but it wasn't that big a deal. Pickup was at 6:30 for arrival at Auschwitz around 8:45.
Our first driver who took us to Auschwitz and birkneu was fab very helpful and info brilliant as the tour guide her knowledge was well educated in her knowledge of the camps. Our second trip which was to the salt mines our driver well who drives in dark with shades on 🙄 Trip to salt mines itself was fab it’s just wow Then we finished at 7 and driver told us to wait where he dropped us off said be there for 7.15 pm but he didn’t arrive till 7.45 and it was freezing 🥶 felt very crushed in van also no apology for being late and way to busy texting on his phone while driving on busy roads not fully focused this would have been 5 stars if it wasn’t for our second driver didn’t seem bothered 😕
Very powerful. Great guide with lots of information and given plenty of time to get round everything. Great group of people.
An unforgettable experience at Auschwitz. Our guide Lucas was brilliant told the story with compassion and honesty. Hard to comprehend things at times. Salt mine tour was very good. I would recommend doing this on a different day as very tiring doing one after the other and was late when we finished at the salt mines so no time for coffee and a snack as they were waiting to close.
Make sure you have your phones ready for pictures! Our tour was very fast paced only because there was a lot of information on everything and there were many other groups. Go as early in the morning as possible so that it is not rushed as badly. Overall it was an amazing tour and we as a people need this reminder of history.
I attended this tour a couple of days ago… even though the guide was very prepared and fully informative, we didn’t have the chance to stop for a minute and assorbe the information given. This is a place of great sadness and not having the time to appreciate and give the right level of importance was a shame. It spoiled the tour as it just felt constantly rushed. We were running from place to place not even having the time to look what the guide just explained.
The day before the trip was booked received a text saying due to lack of guides could we split the tour into different days. Pleased we agreed to this due to the amount of walking at both. The Salt mines were unreal and very interesting and all was OK that day. Auschwitz the 2nd day - I requested early morning due to now having to do 2 days so wanted the rest of the day to sightsee. 0620 we were told to be ready they came at 640 (very apologetic) so got on our way. Arrived at 0800 and were told that the English tour was sold out. Option to wait 5 .5 hours till next English tour although that may sell out or go back and try another day or advised to go on Polish tour with guide book and the tour guide would point tjongsbout to us in the book with broken English. We couldn't go another day as were going home and my reason for coming to Krakow was to visit Auschwitz. The driver was lovely and although we did get a partial refund (along with the 4 others on the trip who had also booked English as no Polish speakers) we were all still very disappointed as we wandered around trying our best to follow a guide book but unable to hear any emotional or detailed stories of such a horrendous place. According to the driver you can't prebook tickets and it is a risk you take however the tour guide from Auschwitz said that the companies are doing this regularly to get people in.
Mark was a fabulous guide - very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. Could definitely spend longer at Auschwitz as such a lot to see and experience
Fantastic tour with a brilliant driver, thank to you everyone involved. The tour exceeded expectations
Communication could be better. Was told 7:30 pick up but night before told 9:45. Crazy. But Tom did a good job. My phone said I did 16000 steps that day!
It was a great experience going to Auschwitz & Saltmine. It was heartbreaking, educational and historically meaningful. Our tour guide/driver/Dariusz took us to these places safely. Dariusz guided us explicitly and gave us pre information and what we will expect. Thanks for the best experience.
It was a somber and enlightening experience. However, the pick up time was much too early and combining holocaust camps with the salt mine tour was a little too much for one day.
The whole day! The guides were all brilliant and so knowledgeable. To visit Auschwitz and Berkenhau is a very very moving and humbling experience and no words can truly describe the atrocities that occurred there.
The tour of the 2 concentration camps was understandably solemn and the weather matched it, however they provided an important window into history and a shocking reminder of what humans are capable of at their worst. The tour guides were very articulate and knowledgeable and made the excursion a valuable experience. My party had also booked to view the salt mine and this too was well conducted. Minor transportation issues were quickly resolved and we effectively received personal attention for this excursion. I’d highly recommend the operator for all tours.
