It was a nice experience seeing Auschwitz and learning more about history. It was heavy to see these structures due their purposes but we learned a lot. Thanks also to our guide Adam who brought us in Salt Mine. This place was amazing. Seeing this mine stars-trucked everyone due to its construction and what has inside. It’s a must!!

We booked a trip with Krakow Direct for 10 of us to Auschwitz and the Salt mine. Our drivers were Aleksandra and Andrzej as we needed two cars. They were both absolutely fantastic, really knowledgeable and fun and always on time to pick us up and guide us through next parts of tours. Outstanding and well organized tour. Driver showed up on time, had a short video on Auschwitz in the car. Wi-Fi in the car was outstanding. It was a smooth and well organized tour with a great tour guide when we arrived at Auschwitz.

Outstanding. Private car driven by Rafa, gorgeous clean car and such a lovely young man. Informed us of travel times and said to let him know if we needed to stop for breaks. Even took us to a shop so we could buy some lunch. Faultless service taking us to the venues and introducing us to guides. He could not have done any more for us he was excellent would highly recommend thank you!

Phoned 6pm the night before to say changed the time from 7.15 to 6.25am. As going with friends and not with us at time had to cancel. Very unhappy with this service

This was a fantastic tour! Michael was our driver/tour guide for the day and he was awesome. He was extremely professional and very kind. The tour van to pick-us up was on -time and we watched a video about Auschwitz on our way there that was extremely impactful. Once we got to Auschwitz the company had taken care of anything. We only had to wait about 15 minutes for it to open since we had arrived early. The tour guide at Auschwitz and Birkenau was fantastic. After the Auschwitz tour we had about a 15 minute break and then the van took us over to Birkenau. After that we drove to the salt mine. When we got there we had a 50 minute break before the tour. Overall the day was great because we did not have to think or worry about a thing. Everything was taken care of and the day went very smoothly. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Our experience with KrakowDirect was fantastic! We booked our tour directly with the company and they were punctual and professional. They picked us up at our hotel, in a luxury Mercedes van and we watched a video movie on the Liberation of Auschwitz, which brought tears to my eyes, on our hour drive there. Then we had an exceptional, knowledgeable and very thorough tour guide, Anna, who gave us in depth history lesson at both Auschwitz and Birkenau. Then we were driven to Salt Mine, also amazing tour guide there, then driven back to our hotel. Our driver for all 3 locations was Adam and he was polite, courteous, and professional as well. The overall experience with KrakowDirect was superb! We also used them for airport transfer, pick up and return...excellent customer service! Highly recommend this company!

Salt mine tour was fantastic but for Auschwitz tour the next day the driver never showed up, called or text me to meet

We were picked up at the hotel and driven the entire day to Auschwitz and the Salt Mine near Krakow. The car was very clean and driver was very friendly and spoke perfect English.

This was definitely a bucket list visit as we should never forget what can happen when a culture exists to inflict harm on others. Being lifted from the hotel was great and the guide was friendly and informative. Auschwitz guide was equally professional and impressive. We had time for a meal between each tour and the Salt mine was worth going to but there are a lot of steps albeit going down mostly. ei

Wow what can I say, …….both tours were excellent and very informative. The Auschwitz-Birkenau tour was both emotional and informative, it was definitely pitched at the right level. Although we can never truly understand what the detainees went through in the camps, its important we never forget the horrors that occurred. If your going to Krakow then Auschwitz it a must. As there was a fair bit of walking on both tours, it was a blessing to have a private car which was comfortable, clean and at our disposal. The driver was great, he was punctual in picking us up at the hotel on the morning and shared lots of additional information regarding Auschwitz. This was an excellent tour and I would totally recommend it.

The driver was 10 mins early, lovely man, very organised couldn’t be more helpful, great day out an awful lot of walking involved! But would definitely use these transfers for another tour when returning.

We visited Auschwitz & the Salt Mines in December. Peter picked us up early from our hotel & drove us through the countryside. Let me just say, I learned more about the country & culture on the drive than I ever expected! Once we toured Auschwitz, we opted not to take the detailed tour of Birkenau & go straight to the Salt Mines. They are not to be missed if you are planning at trip to Krakow. I highly recommend Krakow Direct Private Tours & if you get Peter, you won't be disappointed.

Paul our driver was on time, spoke good English and provided us with good recommendations - and a small bottle of cherry vodka! Auschwitz and Birchenhaus tour was pitched at the right level of information yet retaining the emotion required - lest we forget. We then stopped off at a traditional restaurant just outside the saltmine which was lovely. The saltmine was a must to visit. All in all a great day and we would recommend the operator.

Hi we had a private tour with peter Auschwitz and salt mines. Peter was very knowledgeable about everything made our day . My son who is deaf peter got him a guide book as my son couldnt use headphones also got us our lunch to save queueing. Took us to see a castle and monastery on way to salt mines . Highly recommend Krakow direct . We will visit again and will be asking for peter again feel like we made a new friend . Well done peter and Krakow direct

We used Krakow Direct twice - once for an airport transfer and once for the Auschwitz and Salt Mines tour. On both occasions they were great. They had nice, clean Mercedes vehicles to transport us and even let us play our own music by connecting our phones to the entertainment system. The tour was very informative with great guides who explained everything and took time to answer questions from the group. I'd definitely recommend this company when visiting Krakow.

We booked this on line before arriving. Our driver, Peter was on time, very friendly and very knowledgeable. The car was spotlessly clean. We arrived at Auchwitz where the tour had been organised, he helped get our audio equipment sorted and upon return our ordered packed lunch was waiting in the car. We went on to Birchenau and the Salt mines. Peter was always cheerful and helpful and we shared stories on the way. The trip to the camps were obviously harrowing, it was great to know Peter would be waiting in his warm, comfortable car when we returned. As a parting gift, Peter gave us a bottle of cherry vodka to share. A truly nice guy, nothing seemed like too much trouble. I would definitely book with this company again and if you get Peter then you won't go far wrong.

Arrived exactly on time, greeted by our driver and host Michael. He was well informed of the day ahead of us and kept us on the straight and narrow with the do's and don'ts of the day. Would highly recommend this trip, especially if you are lucky enough to get Michael!

Driver Christopher was really good, punctual, professional and helpful. Very impressed with the trip and organisation. So glad we went in private car rather than coach trip, as it was a long day for Auschwitz and salt mine, but going by car made it much smoother. Even had table reserved in local restaurant (optional) again we would not have known to do this unless Christopher organised. Thank you for making the excursion for us a well planned day. The visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the salt mine in Wieliczka was very good, (emotional) and educating! We were content with the guided tours and our driver Micheal was truly the best! Our hotel had arranged our trip to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines with Kraków Direct. Our driver Paul was great, charming, friendly and professional. We chose private car travel but Paul escorted us to meet up with groups for tours and clearly explained everything. Mathew - another Kraków direct employee took our tour of Auschwitz and once again, faultless service. He was highly knowledgable and his oration during the tour was superb. I would certainly recommend not only Kraków Direct, but the trips too. The Salt Mine was enjoyable and Auschwitz, although harrowing and poignant really is a must! I suggest good comfortable footwear is essential as surfaces are uneven and there is a lot of walking involved!

We ate very grateful to Krakow Direct and the personnel involved for our trip on Saturday 21st September. Tom was a most wonderful guide and driver. He was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and very facilitative towards us throughout the day. He made the day special and memorable for us, and gave us an insight into tragic events at Auschwitz whilst not traumatising his clients. He kindly drove us to 'The Ramp', significant in the film 'Schlinder's List'. We had an easy drive afterwards to visit the Salt Mines, a local attraction where we bought some souvenirs. Even though it was rather harrowing, I highly recommend this tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau and to the Wieliczka Salt Mines. Our private taxi driver and both tour guides were extremely informative and friendly. Comfortable shoes are required as there is a lot of walking involved, on uneven surfaces and down a lot of steps.

Although harrowing the day was good and informative. You was with a guide that talked you through the tour and was able to ask questions, a long day but worth it. Good footwear needed, salt mines was good, little time for finding a decent bite to eat apart from snack places at the attractions , so would be good idea to take some food and drink.

We used KrakowDirect for airport transfer from and to Krakow airport. We also used a driver / private car for transportation to Auschwitz-Birkenau. All trips were in a Mercedes Van - very clean, with wi-fi. All 3 drivers were excellent - safe drivers, very friendly, very accommodating and on-time. Would highly recommend KrakowDirect for your transportation needs.

Our chauffeur catered for all our needs including lunch break & information. He was so friendly The 3 locations were treated with respect by the additional guides provided & all our family from 70 year old to 12 year old were provided with such an enlightening day .Perfect

We were picked up from our hotel in the morning by our guide Michael who was very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. We first arrived at Auschwitz after watching an informative documentary on the way which prepared us for the day. The tour guides at both Auschwitz and the salt mines were great. It is well worth the trip if you’re only in Krakow for a couple of days, the tour guides were amazing and look after you throughout the day, learnt so much from them. Would highly recommend!

This was the best possible tour. It exceeded my expectations! Having our own driver was absolutely the best! We had time at the salt mines and then on to Auschwitz-Birkenau! We absolutely think this is the best way to visit the concentration camps! Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!! We had our own group for Auschwitz and didn’t have to wait in a queue to get in! Having the private transport was very nice with a younger child. It gave her quiet time to process what she saw there. Communication was very prompt with this company! My daughter and I recommend this trip!

We chose the private car option, and this was a very comfortable way of sightseeing! No stress regarding tickets, long lines, finding the way, parking, where to go, which line to get in etc. Our driver picked us up at the hotel well in time to bring us to Auschwitz. He was very polite, spoke very well English and was informative. Nice, new car with 9 seats, and we were only 5, so we had a lot of space. On the way he explained what was going to happen so we were well prepared. At Auschwitz, he dropped us of by the entrance, and asked us to wait for him while he parked the car. Then he connected us with a larger group from Krakow Dircet - which had chosen the group tour. It seemed that organized tours had their own security entrance - at least there was no long line. After the guided tour he waited just by the exit, so easy to find him. The guided tour at Auswitch was also very good. Our guide spoke well English, and was very knowledgeable . After the tour and a short break to have something to eat, we went to Wieliczka. Same procedure there. He connected us with the larger group, and saw us well through the entrance, and waited for us by the exit. The tour takes most of the day, and with some walking/standing I would recommend good shoes. It might also be wise to have some snack/drinks that you can leave in the car while on the guided tour. It was very warm when we visited Auschwitz-Birkenau, and not much shadow, so remember to bring a water bottle where allowed. I've read in other reviews on Trip Advisor that some have experienced too little time to buy drinks/food/snack (in general, not particularly on Krakow Direct-reviews). It was never a problem for us - we were almost alone at the cafe - but then again you never know how many people there will be. The guiding at Wieliczka was also good. After having ended the tour, it was really nice to sit down in the car and relax. We can highly recommend Krakow Direct!

Michael was a excellent driver who could not have been more helpful for us! Thanks for the looking after us today. The tours were very informative and we all learnt a lot. The day ran very smoothly and I would recommend to anyone considering doing both tours!

So we got picked up from our apartment which was brilliant, and dropped off there at the end of the day. Our guide Michael was brilliant, at the end of the day all he had to do was drive us around but his local knowledge and knowledge of the places they took us was fantastic. He made jokes with us and made us feel at ease from the get go. Both tours had fantastic guides who were informative and funny, would recommend them to everyone. My advice to anyone else taking these tours to pack water and suncream if going in the summer and prepare to walk a lot!

We felt very lucky to have Michael as our guide. He was kind, friendly, profissional and instead of just playing a movie and drive, he actually shares interesting facts about Poland and the places we are about to visit on our way. Despite of being a long day (visit Auschwitz and the Salt Mine) we really recomend it.

Very very good. We got picked up at 9.15. It was convinient to be picked up our hotel. Started with Auschwitz and Birkenau. Interesting and scary at the same time. After Birkenau our driver told us there was a traffic jam at the highway and that we should have short time (almost no time) for lunch. That was bad. And outside Birkenau the choice of food was very limited. Ones we got to the salt mines it turned out that the rest of the group was late so id we had known that we would have had time for lunch there. Tje salt mines is amazing. During the 2.5km long walk underground we saw sculptures made of salt and fantastic rooms and chapels. Then into a very small elevaror we were back on the ground and headed back to Krakow centre. On the way back we got a tips from our driver about a restaurant. He dropped us outside Morskie Oko and we ordered pancakes with gulash, which the driver also recommended. Very good and very cheap. We eat and drink a lot and it just costed around €25 each. Can really recommend that place. We went back the day after and had lunch, soup in bread. I can really recommend a private tour. We were two couples on rhis journey to Krakow and we were the only ones in the car. Very convinient. The whole daytrip took around 10 hours, so it is along day with lot of impressions. But if you are in Krakow for just a few days it is worth doing botj Auschwitz and saltmines in just one day.

I have read lots of reviews of different tour companies in Krakow for the Auschwitz and Salt Mine tour. Many people have complained about the long day and lack of time for lunch. And some tour companies seem to start with the salt mine first instead of Auschwitz which is not great as the they ended up not able to finish the tour. I decided on Krakow Direct from the positive reviews plus knowing that they start with Auschwitz. It was definitely the right decision. I received an email and a call the day before the tour to confirm my booking. Today, our driver, Peter, came punctually to pick us up at our hotel. It is a BMW and is very comfortable and spacious for 3 of us (my husband and auntie). Peter is very friendly and chatty. So it was great to have him driving us for the long journey to Auschwitz. Once we reached our destination, we had some free time to use the toilet before joining the group tour. After touring Auschwitz, it was almost 12.30 and we had 15 mins to grab a snack before we proceed for the second part of the tour. Peter picked us up and send us to Birkenau and rejoined the group. We finished at Birkenau around 2pm and it took about an hour to the salt mine. Peter has booked a nice restaurant where we break for a late lunch for an hour. We then joined another group for our salt mine tour which ended around 6.45. And we were back to our hotel around 7.15pm. Overall, our tour experience was very good with Krakow Direct and our driver Peter. Some suggestions if you are planning to do a 1 day tour : -Book the private tour as the price difference is not very significant vs group tour. You get a lot more flexibility. We get picked up at 9.15am and arrived back at 7.15pm at our doorstep. -Lunch will be late so just buy some food at the café in Auschwitz or bring your own food. -Security in Auschwitz is strict so we left our backpack in the car and only took important items with us. -Lots of walking so wear comfortable walking shoes. -Bring a bottle of water as you will need to hydrate along the way. Lastly, be respectful at Auschwitz-Birkenau Camp. Don't do selfies or pose for photos. Is a memorial to the estimated 1.5 million people who have died.
