Damian, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and told the history of Auschwitz and Birkenau with empathy and compassion. With a group of 30+ he managed the tour excellently. He was also so helpful about providing additional information on other tours and also offering to help anyone should they return to Krakow again. Thank you

Reviews
From the outset, communication with the operator was clear, consistent and smooth at all times. As expected, we were contacted the day before with the exact pick-up time, which was rigorously respected by the driver. After collecting a few additional passengers, we were given some general instructions and then guided efficiently towards the first stop of the tour. The visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau went exactly as scheduled, with everything running in an organised and timely manner. Once completed, we proceeded to the second part of the itinerary: the Salt Mines. There, we had some free time before the visit, and the driver even managed to arrange for us to enter slightly earlier than planned, which proved to be a clear added value to the overall experience. In summary, everything went smoothly from start to finish. The main advantage of this tour is the convenience of not having to worry about transport logistics, while being able to combine two major visiting points in a single day. Despite the intensity of the schedule, there was still time afterwards to enjoy and explore Krakow at a relaxed pace. I would not hesitate to use this company again for future activities, and I would confidently recommend it to friends visiting Krakow.
Went with Mr Shuttle. A lot of walking but very informative. Had a great guide who did auschwitz and then met us at Birkenau after short bus transfer.
Amazing experience and one worth to see when visiting Krakow. Our driving was fantastic. Very friendly and prompt with timings. Our tour guide in Auschwits was very knowledgeable, explaining everything and very respectful throughout the tour. The salt mines exceeded my expectations and it was truly amazing to see. Again our guide for the salt mines was very knowledgeable. It is a long day so make sure you were comfortable shoes and bring something to drink/ eat between the trips.
Excellent tour, communication was great prior to the tour and Christian was a wonderful guide during the day and was efficient and friendly. The guide at Auchwitz was excellent and explained everything well and the salt mine was far beyond our expectations and must be seen, simply staggering.
An eye opening insight into what went on in these camps all these years ago . If you are going to do a tour do your research first as there are a few companies that do it . We chose to do the Camp and then go on to the salt mines which in hindsight was a mistake as it is a seriously long day and we were exhausted by the end of it . The company contacted us 24 hours before switching the pick up time to 5.30am and by the time we got back it was 5.30pm and we had done 35 thousand steps . Apparently it is common for companies to switch the time last minute due to bad traffic and large queues that have to be taken into consideration . We also expected a coach however we were picked up in a minibus and although it was a decent one it had no toilet and we were squashed in . It is around an hour and a half to Auschwitz from Krackow old town with no stops . When you get there you can get drinks and snacks from vending machines . I wont tell you what is inside the camp as you will see for yourself when you get inside .When you leave the camp they will take you a short drive around 15 mins to Auschwitz- Birkenau which is the outside camp where the railway took the prisoner inside . I was surprised that when we pulled up and were walking towards the entrance that there was a type of kebab van which did not really seem right but apparently it has been there years? I am glad i went however you come out of that camp with all the happiness drained out of you . I am going to do a separate review of the salt mines which was also part of this trip .
The tour was very good and well run. Since the booking asked for your name, auschwitz tickets are issued in your name and the confidence of knowing the tour would not be cancelled due to a lack of tickets is worth it. Communication before and during was great as well.
This was a great tour, so glad we booked it. Going to Aushwitz-Birkenau was our main reason for visiting Krakow and we took our time to pick the right tour. This was it, perfect in every way. Our driver, Bartek was very friendly and attentive. A truly lovely guy. He communicated well with us prior to the tour and also on the day. We were in a small group and the other people all said how great this tour was! The vehicle was immaculate as was his driving. The visit to Auschwitz was upsetting but a must see for all. The salt mine was amazing, so worth visiting. Bartek provided a superb tour and also a great lunch. The day was perfect and we totally recommend booking with Him.
Auschwitz trip was something I’ve felt the need to do for a long time and even though I thought I was prepared a few bits still upset me. The mine I had no prior knowledge of but as it was a must see thought I’d do it. It didn’t disappoint and I enjoyed it. Our driver Bartek was brilliant, he was friendly and knowledgable and very helpful. The lunch we bought from him was extremely tasty. Would recommend this trip to others
Amazing day. Everything went smoothly. Driver was brilliant. History of Auswitch and Birkenau is just something one must see where it all happened. Salt Mine was also extremely interesting.
First of all, Igor was absolutely one of the best guides we’ve had on all of our trips to Europe. Intelligent, engaging, very knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating the entire day. Igor connected with us prior to picking us up and made sure to arrange lunch for us for the break between Auschwitz and Birkenau. He did an amazing job articulating what the day would look like, what to expect, and was a joy to ride with the whole day. Auschwitz and Birkenau should be a must when you visit Poland, as well as the Salt Mine. We read many reviews about the Salt Mine and the steps. Here’s the thing, the steps are many, but our group felt like it was almost easier than Auschwitz and Birkenau. The stairs are well built with railings, there are many places to stop and sit on a bench throughout. It was an unbelievable experience. If you come to Poland, book with Igor and do this trip!
Our driver Igor was really great ! Super reliable. Great communication. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything worked just as planned. Thank you Igor!
All went excellent 👍👍👍👍 Thanks very much.. Everything was on time. The driver excellent person Guide person explained everything. All of as 7 person's said all excellent.
Absolutely brilliant. Such a well informed and humble Auschwitz tour guide for a harrowing experience. Our driver was punctual, polite and helpful with great communication. The mine was excellent too but I will say that perhaps the 2 together in one day is a bit too much. We were exhausted and drained physically and emotionally. That’s the only negative though. It feels wrong to say a fabulous experience given the nature of it but you know what I mean. Well worth it
This was industrial tourism. Too fast, too many in a group. Not enough time to experience the sites. Way too much walking. Our “ guide was nothing but a driver and not at all interested in enhancing the experience. No information beyond the tour script of the site guides.
Did the joint tour and had Jacob as our guide for Auswitz. A very knowledgeable guide who delivered a very detailed yet sensitive tour. It should be visited by everyone to ensure that we never forget mans inhumanity to man. The salt mines were just amazing and so worth the time to visit. We did the joint tour on our last day knowing it was going to be long but the pick up for Auswitz changed from 6.30 to 5.40 and the salt mines tour started at 3.15. It made a very long day as didn't get into mines till 4.30 and should have taken us 3 hours but after the tour we didn't do the museum as we were shattered! There was almost 3 hour break in between so be mindful of that and plan accordingly. If you are there for enough time it may be worth doing separate days to get the best out of the latter tour. The communication from this company was excellent and everything on time. Recommend using them.
excursion booked, and paid for, one month in advance. The evening before the event, the tour is cancelled, an email with scant explanations. The other groups leave regularly, so they wrote lies to us. Dozens of phone calls, and chat messages, so much more waste of time. In very unpolite ways they tell us that they will do nothing to find us another similar tour. They are unreliable, rude, incompetent. Never again
Great trip our Guide Zibi picked us up on time, and was the perfect host. Really the whole day run smoothly. Would recommend to anyone wishing to do this trip.
The tour, albeit understandably somber due to the location, was outstanding. Prior to our departure our guide (Grzesiek) contacted us via WhatsApp to confirm our booking, pick up location, and to provide us an opportunity to purchase a lunch during the tour. On the day of the trip, Grzesiek was punctual and provided us with all of the information we needed. I highly recommend this service to people looking to visit this memorial site.
An excellent service provided from the driver to the guide ,good pair of comfortable shoes needed .It is a long day so be prepared for that .
Booked through Get your guide, tour guide was fantastic, the bus driver quite rude, this your is a must
Organised to perfection. The day started with a trouble free pick up at 7am. Our driver was outstanding throughout the day . We Arrived at Auschwitz before the long queues started and allotted a tour guide who took us between the two camps . He was so Sensitive , respectful and delivered the information with dignity and empathy . A day that all 8 of us are never going to forget . We had a contrast for the afternoon when we were taken to the salt mine. Again smooth process from arrival when our driver handed us to the guide . Amazing, a trip certainly worthwhile . Combining three in one is well worth it
Our guide Barbara during Auschwitz-Birkenau was knowledgeable and respectful and provided great information while on site. Our driver Daniel explained all instructions very clearly and reached out early for pick up instructions and lunch options. The salt mines were amazing and well worth a long day. It does become a long day, however it is not overly taxing and finishing at the wonderful salt mines offsets the emotional visits to the camps.
This is a must do trip! The communication between us and the tour company was excellent. It was confirmed when and where our driver would pick us up and he was punctual and very friendly . We decided last minute to do the prepacked lunches as they explained Auschwitz only has one coffee shop and its very expensive. Best decision as they provided plenty of tasty food. As somber as it was to visit Auschwitz and Birkenau it was very educational and tastefully presented. We were given headphones to hear our guide throughout the tour and our guide Anna was truly amazing. You could tell she truly cared about the victims and telling their story and was very respectful in doing so. The salt mine portion was nice. I enjoyed going down in the mine. Don't let the 700 steps intimidate you as there is an elevator to bring you back up. Seeing the beauty of it all is fascinating. Our guide there was good but hard to understand at times.
This trip was amazing and all I thought it would be and more - our guide Elona was exceptional. This lady knew her history and managed to convey it to us with the true emotion that could not leave you unsure as to the atrocities and heartbreak which occurred in Autswitch and Birkenbrau. She never rushed the trip and she was able to answer all and any questions that were asked of her. I cannot express how glad we were to have had her. Thomas our driver was brilliant with great humour and very professional. We then went onto the salt mine. Such a fab place to go and our guide was so witty and imparted wonderful knowledge. Amazing trip to take. Lunch was fab, gorgeous pasta salad, drink, very tasty sandwich, fruit & a sweet. Minibus was so comfortable.
So emotional and overwhelming to visit Auschwitz so glad to have done it salt mines too was very interesting
The trip was greatly organised. Driver was friendly and punctual. Appreciated all the extra info on local history.
We were picked up from our hotel by a very friendly guy, there were 6 other travellers with us in the van. The driver took us to where we needed to be and made sure we were all ok and knew where to meet him at the end of the tour. The tour guide at Auschwitz was excellent, he also did the tour of Birkenau. He was extremely knowledgeable and took care to ensure we all stayed together, that we were ok through the tour especially as it is obviously quite upsetting and emotive. We were lucky as the weather was very warm for October. We then travelled back towards Krakow to the Salt mine, unfortunately the lady who guided us through was not so good, but really the most impressive thing was the underground chapel carved from salt, so it didn’t matter that she was not so attentive. We got back to Krakow around 6 pm.
Excellent tour of two of the camps at Auschwitz. Auschwitz 1 and Birkenau. Very thought provoking and Sombre. Guide had excellent English and was careful to explain what was original and what was restored. The salt mines are absolutely worth a visit. Incredible. To do both of these tours is hard work. Lots of time on mini bus and lots of walking. If not fit or have younger children suggest doing on two separate tours!
Daniel arrived on time and was excellent. There were7 in the group and all was well organised. The mini-bus was comfortable and clean and the lunch was great. Auschwitz is really harrowing, but special praise to our guide there who was extremely knowledgable and well-read on her subject. She was also very respectful of the millions who were murdered there. One doesn't "enjoy" Auschwitz; it's hard not to despair that humans can behave like this, but you get a good sense of the horror without feeling like a gawper. I wouldn't recommend this trip for people who are not mature enough to understand what was done here. It's not a theme park. The salt mines are definitely worth a visit and the whole experience is very well organised and efficient.
Very moving day. Somehow an amazing experience, must go when here and pay respects. The salt mines were an unexpected brilliant morning and Auschwitz needs no explanation.
Hotel pick up & drop off is a must for this guided tour as it's a long day. We were provided with a nice packed lunch for a reasonable price .
It was well organised. We’ve had a good experience. The tour was interesting. We would recommend it to everyone. Everyone should see Auschwitz and Birkenau and what happened there to remember what we are capable of and not to allow this to happen again. The Salt mine was very interesting and beautiful.
Great driver - very helpful and friendly. Well organised, extremely interesting and would recommend.
Such a well planned and organised tour that really gave us a great experience of the deep culture and history of Poland. A really great value for money and would definitely recommend for anyone who was visiting Poland on a cultural trip. Would like to especially praise our driver Zibi for his great hospitality on the trip and his kindness throughout - really made it worthwhile and went out of his way to make the experience even more special.
Amazing trip, small group and great transport - our tour guide was brilliant would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
This is a long day out, approximately 11 hours. We only had 3 nights in Krakow so were trying to cram in as much as possible so this trip was ideal to maximise our time. The journey to Auschwitz took approximately 1 hour and 20 mins, very comfortable vehicle. Our guide at Auschwitz Birkenau was excellent, very informative, empathetic and respectful. This trip is a must whilst in Krakow. The salt mine is an incredible experience, a light hearted afternoon following very emotional morning.
This trip was brilliantly organised and I would highly recommend. We were informed of our hotel pick up time the day before (having already been given a time frame) and were also asked if we wanted a packed lunch for 35zloty - well worth the purchase, good value, delicious baguette and there isn't too much choice to get food elsewhere anyway! We were picked up right on time (8.40am) and there was 9 of us in the minibus in total (incl. the driver). We were given clear instructions throughout the day and were given plenty of toilet/rest breaks. The guides at Auschwitz and the Salt Mines were both professional and informative. We were dropped off back at our hotel around 6.30pm (about a 10 hour day). Be aware it is quite a long day which requires a lot of walking but the trip is great value (you don't have to worry about organising a thing) and makes sense to get them both done in one day if you want to free up other days.
Mr shuttle tours pick up on time Wonderful driver named Christian Started at 6.45 am and finished about 6 a full day Two tours Auschwitz and salt mines
TripAdvisor kept me fully aware of any changes that were made. Picked up as prearranged by our driver,Michael, who was first class from start to finish. Our tour around Auschwitz and Birkenau was very powerful and extremely sobering , our guide throughout was very good The Salt mine tour was good and gave my wife and myself a bit more exrecise!
Our tour guide Igor was professional from start to finish, he made the experience even more incredible.
We booked this trip to Auschwitz and the salt mines a couple of weeks before coming out. We had good communication with the company throughout, like clarification of our hotel for the pick up and then the time we would be picked up was emailed the day before. We were picked up slightly earlier than our 8.15am start by Tomasz. We proceeded to pick up a further 4 people so 8 of us in total, with facemasks worn inside the minibus.. Tomasz was informative throughout our trip and clear with his instructions at each stop. We were offered a packed lunch for 20pln so roughly £4 which we received at lunch time and it was well worth purchasing. The actual trip to Auschwitz/Birkenau and the the Salt mines were led by excellent guides who were very professional and extremely informative. To do both places in one day is quite tiring but is definitely well worth the price and our thoughts were that it freed up more time for other things on other days doing them both together. My friends and I would highly recommend this trip.
Great communication so we knew exactly what was happening, picked up from our hotel there were 4 of us in the minibus Victor our driver was lovely, tour guide at auchwitz was very informative it was very thought provoking, then onto somewhere for lunch and a tour of the Saltmines which was brilliant, long day but great if you don't have long in Krakow
A long day of contrasting experiences, but so glad we made the excursion. Auschwitz-Birkenau was such a sad and sobering experience after enjoying the delights of beautiful Krakow - but must be undertaken in the hope lessons are learned so we never have a repeat of such outrageous crimes against other human beings ... The guide at Auschwitz-Birkenau was exceptional and related a traumatic episode in a measure and compassionate way. The later trip to Wieliczka helped the healing process and the guide (Agatha) was great fun and made the tour a real pleasure. Igor, the driver was efficient but did not say much - we expected him to tell us something of Krakow but he only really spoke for 5/10 minutes before we returned to the city.
Absolutely brilliant! Both drivers for the day were lovely and very informative. Pick up’s and drop off’s were on time. We even got played a video on the way to Auschwitz which prepared us for the horrors we were about to learn about. The salt mine is absolute must- it’s a long day but you certainly won’t regret. Take snacks if doing both as there’s minimal break time so eating on the road is a good idea.
Absolutely wonderful guides. Can’t thank the guides enough for their professional undertaking of such a heartbreaking part of human history.
It was very moving to see, very sad what the germans did to the prisoners absolutely disgusting. the trip it is a long day so be prepared we went at 8.00am and returned at 7pm you can get refreshments while you are are there except austvich.
This trip was excellent. You do not go the Auschwitz expecting to enjoy the visit, and the hope is that you get to understand and appreciate the awful atrocities that took place there. Our driver and our guide were both excellent. The trip started with a prompt pickup from our apartment. We were shown a video on the way to Auschwitz given a good impression of the history and what to expect. Our guide around the camp was superb, really giving the history of what went on and was clearly passionate to impart knowledge and also her personal feelings with regards to the terrible things that occurred. This is really a trip that must be done, but emotionally it is very draining. The Salt Mines were simply superb, again very wort the visit, but for very different reasons. The guide was passionate and excellent. This is a must visit attraction. thanks for a great trip.
All tours were very enjoyable, well as much as the camps tour could be! Was hard to hear what happened but it needs to be heard! Philip who was our tour guide, was really excellent and really made you feel the heaviness of the place. Salt Mines were a different world, so fabulous! Again, tour guide Thomas was very good and informative throughout the whole tour. Marek our driver was really great too and had us picked up on the dot of time. Overall everything throughout the day was excellent and very well organised. Thank you!
We had the best day it was perfectly organised our taxi driver was lovely and organised us all perfectly. Then our tour guide for Auschwitz-Birkenau was amazing really informative and kind as it was extremely unsettling so glad we went. Then to the salt minds which is definitely worth a visit ! Thanks to everyone that made our day so good.
