the night portier who spoke very good English, was most helpful after a tiring journey. The room was spacious and comfortable but the shower was not really warm and the shower head was leaking. Very nice atmosphere and nice breakfast buffet. Sauna at the end of the second day was great. Excellent location if you do not come by car to Krakau.
Pros: location is unbeatable, 30s walk away from main square which is very nice! Andreas (bellboy) is very kind and attentive, always service with a smile. Housekeeping is good. Let us keep our bags on location before check in and well after check out. Cons: the appearance is luxurious but the rooms itself are outdated and don’t reflect the standard of the property as a whole. We had thick black mould in our bathroom that was pretty grim. The man at reception was not very friendly, very short tempered. When we requested extra toilet rolls the man who came to our room didn’t say a word and threw the toilet rolls at me. The deposit system was confusing and we didn’t read about this in our booking info. I feel it is more of a 3 star standard overall. We were here to celebrate a special occasion but didn’t enjoy staying in the hotel because of this.
Our stay at the Grand Hotel was truly wonderful and will be remembered for years to come. From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed by beautiful interiors, timeless elegance, and the unique atmosphere of historic Kraków right at your doorstep. The hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, making us feel right at home throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Grand Hotel and would happily return. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kraków!
A nice hotel, beautiful and charming, you can see the decorations like mirrors and paintings even before entering to the actual room. The room works pretty well, good space for the room and bathroom, a small table in the center with courtesy waters and a nice TV. Commodities are also nice, many shower gels, a shower cap, many towels and huge space for the shower. AC does the work but it take a little time to get the temperature just right, TV great resolution and volume and comfortable beds, great Wifi. Hotel is very quiet and comfortable, breakfast is really good with a lot of options both salad and sweet, all fresh and delicious , staff friendly and overall a good place to stay.
The only real highlight of this hotel is its excellent location, which makes it very convenient for exploring the city. Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay were disappointing and not what we would expect from a 5-star hotel. When we arrived, our room keys were already prepared and waiting in envelopes, and the room appeared ready. However, we were not allowed to check in until exactly 4pm, even though many hotels are happy to allow early check-in when rooms are available. The room amenities were also surprisingly limited. We were provided with three bottles of shampoo and one bottle of body lotion, but no conditioner and no body wash. Basic items such as a dental kit were not included, and when we asked the front desk we were told we would need to purchase one, which felt unusual for a hotel of this standard. Another disappointment was the view from the room, which looked directly onto a wall, making the room feel quite closed in. Additionally, we were asked to place a €100 deposit for the minibar, even though we had no intention of using it. We were told this would be refunded at checkout. While the minibar itself contained only a few small bottles and snacks, this policy felt unnecessary and was something we had never encountered before at other hotels. Overall, while the location is great, the level of amenities, flexibility, and service did not reflect what we would normally expect from a five-star property.
