Private Lanta 4 Islands Tour By Longtail Boat

We had a fantastic day accompanied by two locals on their long tailed boat. A father and son team, who cut up and served us with fresh watermelon and pineapple and provided a tasty lunch. Take it easy was their catch phrase. The places we visited were beautiful and we had great weather. An amazing day out!

Excellent tour with lots of stops. The snorkelling was exciting and we saw lots of fish including eels, sea snakes and a small shark! The guide knew great spots. The beach stop was beautiful with a delicious light lunch and the emerald cave was a wonderful surprise. Jim was a great guide, very helpful and kind.

Our private longtail boat tour was one of the highlights of our stay in Ko Lanta. We paid £165, and for a private boat with a dedicated crew, it was worth every single penny. If you are debating between a shared tour and this, book the private option if you can afford the extra, the flexibility to escape the crowds and the personalised attention made all the difference. Everything was perfectly organized. We were picked up at our hotel at 9:00 AM for a quick 20-minute transfer to Old Town Pier. By 9:45 AM, we were on the water with our two fantastic crew members, who asked exactly where we wanted to go. Koh Ngai: This was a dream. Glistening white sand and crystal-blue water with only one secluded hotel. As a first-time snorkeler, I was blown away by the coral reefs, sponges, and colorful fish, we even saw a sea turtle! We ended the hour with a cold drink at a tiny beach bar with only about 10 other tourists in sight. Pure heaven. Koh Maa: Known as "Horse Island," the snorkeling here was brilliant? with vibrant "rainbow" blue fish and orange-striped varieties everywhere. The crew prepared a wonderful lunch on a secluded beach on the back side of Koh Ngai. We had delicious Massaman curry, noodles, and rice at a picnic bench under a shade tree. It was so peaceful and much better than the "buffet style" lunches on the larger tour boats. The Emerald Cave (Koh Mook): This is the "must-see" of the trip. It was busy, but for good reason. You swim 80 meters through a dark sea cave (I used my phone torch to see the walls). Our guide was so kind, since he was wearing flippers, he actually pulled me along to make it easier! Emerging on the other side into the hidden lagoon is breathtaking. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and emerald-green water, it felt like a secret prehistoric paradise. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our day and would book a private boat again in a heartbeat.

Went with my partner and mom. We had the most amazing experience with Lee as our guide. I did not get our drivers name but he was incredible too. Private tour- totally catered to us. Lunch was so good. Cannot recommend this enough! We booked a day in advance and everything was perfect.

We had a nice day on the water with a very friendly boat driver / host. 2 nice snorkling stops, a visit to the Emerald cave and lunch at a “tropical” beach.🏝️ We can really recommend to have the private tour as there is no stress and room for special treatment.

Beautiful views of the islands, great snorkeling, emerald cave was very unreal. The beach lunch was great, guides were nice and helpful. We had big waves getting back to Koh Lanta, but the captain did a great job getting us back safely.

Great day, very helpful staff, beautiful scenery. Even if you are nervous you must swim through the cave an absolute marvel the other side. Fantastic food

We booked a private longtail boat for the 4 Island Tour, and it was one of the best decisions of our entire trip. From start to finish, everything was seamless and absolutely unforgettable. We were collected directly from our hotel and taken to Lanta Old Town Pier, where we bypassed all the crowds and stepped straight onto our private longtail boat. Our two guides spoke only a little English, but communication was never an issue—they were kind, helpful, polite, and incredibly attentive throughout the day. Our first stop was Ngai Island, and it was simply breathtaking. Powder-white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, and the most peaceful atmosphere. We had around an hour to explore, relax, and enjoy this beautiful paradise. Next, we visited two fantastic snorkelling spots, where we were provided with masks and life jackets. The water was warm and clear, and the marine life was amazing to see up close. Lunch was served on the boat—a delicious chicken red curry with fresh vegetables.We were also constantly supplied with cold water and soft drinks, which was very much appreciated in the heat. The highlight of the entire day was the famous Emerald Cave. Swimming through the dark cave, guided by our boatman’s head torch, was an adventure in itself. And then emerging into the hidden lagoon… breathtaking. A small sandy beach surrounded by towering cliffs covered in greenery—it genuinely felt like stepping into a movie scene. A moment we will never forget. On the way back, our guide asked if we wanted to snorkel one more time, and we’re so glad we said yes. The final snorkelling stop was incredible—the number of colourful fish was unbelievable. At no point did we feel rushed; we had all the time we wanted at every stop. The whole day felt relaxed, personalised, and exceptional. A fantastic trip and absolutely worth every baht. If you’re visiting Koh Lanta, don’t hesitate—book the private longtail tour. It’s an experience you’ll remember forever.

Overall great experience and as described. Language barrier made communication with our guide a struggle at best but we managed to interpret with had gestures. We ran out of gas on the way back but problem quickly solved by transfer to another boat. Lunch was homemade and tasty

All was good till we got to our first island. Tons of jelly fish, so we move to the other side of the same island with many other boats only to have or tour guide tell us that they could not find their mask or snorkels (why would you not check your gear before tour starts?). I told him to bring us back & we would get our money back. He got masks & snorkels from another boat (made his 13yr old son swim to other boat to get them). We swam for maybe 30 minutes with about 30 or 40 other people when tons of jelly fish moved in. We were stung many times, the lader to get back on the boat was challenging, making matters worse. The Emerald cave was good and a nice surprise. That went well, then we moved on to 3rd location to snorkel again but decided against it for fear of more jelly fish. We went to the beach for lunch (food was ok) beautiful beach but full of jelly fish, no swimming. Overall it was not a very good experience, only reason I'm giving 2 stars is for the lunch provided was ok, otherwise it would be 1 star.

We had originally booked this experience for our anniversary, unfortunately the day of we got informed by our drivers that our boat driver was unwell so they had to cancel. They gave us the option to go on a group tour the same day (at a discount), rearrange for the following day or cancel all together and get a refund. I appreciated the efforts to make amends so we went the following day. Our driver was so lovely and arranged for us to get picked up an hour earlier to ensure there would be no queues. We arrived at the pier and met our boat drivers, it took us an hour to get to our first stop it was a beautiful scenic journey, we went straight to the emerald cave to ensure a more intimate experience, it was breathtaking. Then we went from island to island the drivers were so good, one of the times swimming about we got taken by the current and into a swarm of Jellyfish. The drivers would always follow us closely by so got us out very quickly and took care of my stings. After that one of the drivers accompanied us each time getting into the water which actually ended up making the experience for us, he would dive down and bring us all sorts of creatures such as a puffer fish to hold as well as starfish! This was truly amazing, after all the snorkelling we stopped at paradise beach eat some delicious food, spent time with our drivers they taught us lots of Thai words and then we got to relax on the beach for an hour before heading back. This was a lovely trip out! The boat we had was for 3 - 5 people, we were 5 people so it felt fairly basic and didn't have much cover jurying the journey out to the islands - so be prepared to get wet if the sea is rough. Once we got around the islands it was incredible, the two captains were so so lovely and took us to nice quiet spots. We stopped for lunch on a very secluded beach and ate a homemade curry which was one of the best we've had since being in Thailand. Would definitely recommend!

Great day trip in an authentic longtail boat, along beautiful rocky islands. Snorkeling, delicious fruit and lunch, served as a picnic, swimming through the famous Morakot (Emerald Cave). Our two skippers were very friendly and helpful guides.

We were very dissapointed with the experience. The weather was extremely windy on the morning of our trip and we expressed our concerns about it several times before boarding the boat. We were assured it's fine. It ended up with us turning back to harbour half an hour into the trip, because children were scared, crying and everyone was seasick. No refund was offered (they actually made us pay 100 baht extra for a trip home). Would not recommend, especially if you're travelling with kids.

Family of 7 waited at hotel lobby for agreed pick up time but after 30 min no show. Rang the number as requested if there was a no show and just got a recorded message. There were 4 other numbers and finally got to speak to someone using the final number to be told to wait for her to find out the issue. Call back was prompt in responding to say captain had a problem with the boat. We were left having got up early with no trip and a potentially wasted day. My expectation is that back up boats should be available but clearly they are not!!

Great tour and committed staff. The cave is a bit scary. Wonderful beach on the last island for the lunch with a great view. Relaxing and superb tour. Efficient pick up service. Much better than the overcrowded speedboat tours

Very nice boat trip with a longtail boat. We had a private boat for us 4 in the family. The staff were very helpful and helpful. Stopped in 4 places but unfortunately not Emiral Cave as the water level was too high to enter. The coral reefs were not as amazing as I remember them 20 years ago when we were here last but we saw a lot of fish. Getting in and out of the boat at the stops was a bit demanding. You need to be reasonably agile to do it. Got to borrow cyclops and snorkel plus life jacket. But flippers had help a little when in a few places there were some strong currents. But the staff were very helpful and could make sure you got back to the boat or were picked up if needed. Transportation to and from the hotel worked well.

For this trip we were picked up from the hotel on time. The transfer was well organized. The snorkel points are well chosen where the sun was shining. Lunch was prepared on an island where we had time to see each other afterwards. At the end we swam into a cave, on the other side we are very surprised. We can recommend the trip gladly.

Alles war gebucht und die Buchung wurde für den 04.01.2025 bestätigt. Kurz vor Mitternacht (Ortszeit) wurde der Ausflug wegen Überbuchung abgesagt. Da wir am übernächsten Tag abreisten konnten wir den Termin auch nicht verschieben. Bis jetzt 14.01.2025 ist der bereits bezahlte Betrag immer noch nicht zurückverwiesen, obwohl uns die Erstattung des ganzen Betrages zugesichert wurde.

Very beautiful excursion, the islands are beautiful, The boat broke after the first island, repatriation to the second island was done quickly, we ate and enjoy these beautiful beaches after we returned to port and to apologize they made a commercial gesture the next day we were able to finish the other two islands and eat again at lunch all for free, very recommended, the places are beautiful and the onboard team very nice in particular Phil

Die Abholung im Hotel und Fahrt zum Pier in Old Town Lanta klappte reibungslos. Dann ging es ca. 45 Minuten mit dem Long Boat zur ersten Insel. Beim Schnorcheln konnte man unglaublich viele Fische sehen. Weiter ging es zur Emerald Cave. Vor der Höhle waren schon massenhaft Boote. So schwamm man dann mit großen Gruppen hindurch bis man zur beeindruckenden Schlucht am anderen Ende kam. Nach einem weiteren Stop mit schnorcheln ging es zu einer weiteren Insel mit schönem Sttand. Dort gab es ein leckeres Lunch von den beiden Bootsmännern und ausgiebig Zeit zum entspannen unter Palmen und zum schwimmen im Meer. Unsere Bootsbesatzung war sehr freundlich. Wir können diese private Tour ohne Gruppenzwang für einen entspannten Tag nur empfehlen.
