This is a physically demanding tour and you need sturdy footwear. First you are collected from your hotel (the driver was in good time for this) and taken to the boat dock from where you will be taken by boat to Khao Sok Cheow. The tour has 6 parts: the initial boat journey, a visit to limestone caves, a trek through the jungle, lunch, optional swimming or kayaking and the boat journey back. You'll need sunscreen, anti-mosquito spray and good, sturdy shoes: I slipped and fell twice on the muddy tracks. The tour also requires a level of physical fitness and if you are uncomfortable with climbing slopes and steps and walking along uneven paths, this activity is not for you.
This was a wonderful experience, the boat ride was beautiful, the cave tour was really cool and even though I am a little scared of caves, the tour guide was very helpful and when steps were a little difficult, he would give a hand and guide you. After lunch, you were given some free time to kayak or swim, so make sure to pack a swim suit and back up dry clothes. Jungle was also very cool and pretty.
This experience in Khao Sok absolutely earned 5 stars. It was one of those days that doesn’t even feel real. The views of the lake and towering limestone cliffs were unreal, something you truly have to see in person to appreciate. Everything was beautifully paced. We explored a cave, had a great guide who made the day smooth and enjoyable, and lunch was actually really good. The timing was perfect too, especially having time to swim after lunch, which was such a highlight. The only thing I would note is that they didn’t emphasize enough how important proper footwear is. Tennis shoes are highly recommended, and I wore slides, which wasn’t ideal. I’d suggest bringing sandals if you want options, but definitely plan to wear sneakers for comfort and safety. Make sure to pack sunscreen and follow the packing list they provide, and you’ll be set for an incredible day. Honestly, one of the most memorable experiences.
This was one of the best days out in Thailand. I saved this for one of my last day trips because I knew it would have an impact and it did not disappoint. The colors of the lake and the limestone masses and the trees were all breathtaking. Touk Touk was our tour guide and made the day even more enjoyable with his sense of humor and knowledge of the area. The cave was impressive as well. Lunch was quite the spread. I had one of the best dishes I had while in Thailand (Kaeng Tai Pla). I would recommend this tour. Thank you Touk Touk for a great day out!!
The drive there was three hours and the return drive was two hours. Had I known this I probably would not have gone. This was on me, however for not checking that was my complaint. The place itself was gorgeous. I would have preferred more time spent swimming and relaxing. Although the jungle walk and cave were interesting, they were not what I was expecting. I did enjoy the boat ride to get to where we were going.
Not bad experience, but l was hoping for a bit more activities. Touk touk our tour guide has been amazing
Due to my bad luck, I got food poisoning and got sick just before 2-3 hours before the driver arrived to pick me up. Before that moment I tried to reach out via WhatsApp, calls on numbers which were provided on booking confirmation. I tried to communicate with a driver, but no luck. He told me someone is gonna call me from agency - nobody called. I understood that probably nobody would understand me and agree to change the date for me… but I was surprised I couldn’t even communicate with someone.
I feel like Khao Sok is the hidden gem in southern Thailand. Compared to how stunning this place is there is barely any tourists. It felt like getting into Jurassic park. The cliffs surrounding the lake was absolutely jaw dropping. The cave was fun as well so is the jungle trek. Overall an amazing experience.
First off I wasn’t expecting a 3 hr ride to start my day or a 2 hr drive back. That’s my mistake for not checking. If you’re in Krabi just know you might want to verify time for travel. However, it was a very challenging day with the cave and jungle et exhilarating. If you never done this before I would recommend it. The best part was jumping in the water to cool down after. It was so beautiful and refreshing. One can’t beat the views that were seen that day.
What an amazing day! Our guide was super kind and prepared, everything was organized in a perfect way and wow... What a place! Thankful :)
Firstly I'll start with the positives: - The minibus was very comfortable and made the journey from Ao Nang quite easy - The lake is actually really pretty Unfortunately this is where the positives stop, now for the negatives: - You dont get a chance to enjoy the beauty of the lake as you only get one stop off for photos, the rest of the time was spent whizzing around on the boat. - Lunch was awful! I'm not a fussy eater at all but it was shockingly bad. - We hoped to do kayaking, however, taking a look at the kayaks we felt it safer to give it a miss. - The hike, by definition, wasn't a hike. It was about a 200m stroll stopping every 20 seconds to hear about a different types of bamboo. We brought hiking gear expecting an actual hike (definitely false advertising here!) - The journey back on the boat felt like the driver was in a hurry and we overtook every other boat on way, the expense of this is that we got soaking wet where as everyone on the slower moving boats looked relatively peaceful and were enjoying the views. We didn't even get a chance to look at any of the views as our heads were down trying to stay dry. - Our guide seemed to rush everything Overall an awful experience, complete waste of money and wasted day of our holiday. DO NOT BOOK THIS!
We had some rain but nothing that kept us from going on with the tour. Hosts were fantastic. They took such great care of everyone. Safety was a big concern from getting on/off the boat to wearing life vests if needed in the water. Definitely would do again
The natural beauty of the limestone pillars is amazing…in rain or shine (we had both!). The tour was very informative and interesting. Our guides were very good, answered all our questions & looked after us well. We visited a cave and had a jungle walk to the side of the lake. Then lunch at a floating restaurant. A very good day.
Liked the ride there and back because it provided insight into areas we would not be in otherwise. Saw rural areas, many coconut farms, pineapple farms and small towns. The park itself was very scenic. The boat ride was fun and took us to beautiful places. Enjoyed the others in the group of 10 also. The kayaking and swimming were great activities in a beautiful area.
It was a nice experience - the guide, Tuktuk was friendly, informative & funny, kept us entertained. Lunch was provided and the food was ok. We had plenty of time to bathe when we reached the water bungalows and the short hike in the jungle was also nice, even though it started to rain (rain ponchos were provided). The cave was also great to experience. This natural park is a wonder. If you would like to see what Khao Sok is about and don’t want to adventure too much, this is a great tour. If we get to Khao Sok again, we will probably get a rental nearby and explore the park over several days 🙂. If you are sensitive to sound, bring some ear plugs for the long tail boat, because it’s a long ride.
This was a wonderful tour and our guide was great and very knowledgeable. I wished we could have more photos opportunities with our family while on the boat ride to all the places as the views were so pretty. I would recommend this tour company just be ready for a long day tour.
Views were nice but it was a bit of a rip off for what you pay. Lunch was really disappointing as well
It is really boring and too long. I am shocked it cost so much for it being so boring. I am traveling with friends and we though this was going to be a really fun tour filled with adventure but instead it was in a huge group of 20+ people and it felt like we were dragged around a park and told boring info we don’t need.
Too expensive 100 euro pp for this trip is crazy do something else I would not recommend this. Not hating (just a little).
Loved this tour. Scenery gorgeous, Tuk Tuk was a great guide. Had a very interesting international mix, 21 people from 7 countries added to the fun. Just be prepared for a long day as drive was 2.5-3 hours from Ao Nang each way and then 1.5 hour round trip to destinations on lake on a long tail boat.
Amazing scenery but the whole tour was a bit of a rip off. Felt quite disappointed travelling over 2.5 hours for this.
Lake is very nice, meal place is so "superficial" & "tourist attraction", and step in "jungle" was not necessary for us, our guide was super nice.
Beautiful place with a lot to see. The tour guide Tuk Tuk made it special providing information from how the lake was created and who explores and take care of it now. Far from Krabi, expect 2h driving to get there and 2h to get back
If you only have one day to see this natural wonder, this is a great tour for you. Just be ready for a lot of time in transit - perhaps 8-9 of the 12 hours (we left from Krabi Town and were dropped off in Ao Nang.) The driver was great and the ride was comfortable. The tour guide was very kind and generous, and we could understand her most of the time. Be prepared for physical exertion in the hike to the bamboo raft to get to the cave. The views were well worth the trip!
So glad we booked this tour! The drive from Krabi is totally worth seeing the beautiful landscapes, and getting to kayak on the lake. The jungle trek to the cave was incredibly fun. Unreal experience! And the guide was amazing, so informative and friendly.
We booked this more expensive trip through Booking.com because it described to be limited to no more than 10 people. The start of the trip looked good with 10 people heading from Ao Nang to the destination - only to be combined with another group who had been driven from Koh Lak. The trip was 20+ in total. The guide's english was not great and there was a lot of confusion as to who had to pay additional entrance fees vs. had park fees included in the trip. The jungle 'hike' was not more than 1 km meander through a forest with an occasional stop to say something about the bamboo. There weren't enough flashlights for everyone on the tour to be able to use in the cave section of the tour. The food - was the same across all tour groups -- was reasonable, but the individuals who were vegetarian and vegan struggled with food options. In summary, we were disappointed by the size of the group, which hugely impacted our trip expectations.
Too pricy for this trip. Tour guide not having much knowledge. Food was arranged ok but rest of the time you have to navigate on your own.
It was really beautiful. But when we got to the platform where we had lunch and could swim. You could not get into the water without jumping in because their ladder was poorly designed. The round steps and it had moss all over it. I think you need to get some umbrellas down there where people can just sit next to the water. It would’ve been a much better experience
Amazing experience. I loved canoeing in the lake. It was such a wonderful experience. Forever blessed to have seen such beauty.
The pick up should have been at 7.30 am and we were picked up at 8.00. They did not clarify the exact meeting point.
The whole trip was well organised and executed, excellent views, proper explanation from the guide, day very well spent, an amazing day
If you want to see Khao Sok from Krabi just for the day, this is the way to do it. Yes, it’s a very long day with a lot of driving, but it’s worth it for the iconic views. You end up spending the day with about 20 other tourists. There’s plenty of stops to use the bathroom and buy a snack. Lunch was great. Lots of boating through the reservoir. Got to kayak and swim after lunch and even saw a great hornbill bird flying through the trees. The cave was very impressive and the hike was a nice break from sitting on the boat but wasn’t too strenuous. About 1km each way with cool spiders and wild elephant footprints. If you don’t have time to stay in khao sok, this tour is the way to go.
Great tour, worth the 3-hour drive. Very diverse, very beautiful. Great guide, quite knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Very pretty scenery and a good hike. A little expensive for the experience. Spend most of the time in a boat
Such a wonderful day in the Nationalpark. We even saw wild elephants. Our guide tried to explain us as much as he could about wildlife and survival in the jungle - very interesting ☺️
This is one of the most unique and beautiful places. The drive from krabi is long but worth it. The boat rides are breathtaking and swimming in the lake off the hotel docks was loads of fun.
The tour was really well organized. We got picked up at the hotel and had a boat tour over the lake. The stop for the food was amazing. Afterwards we made a little hike to a cave. We had a great time.
As we started from Krabi Town, picking people up in Ao Nang an heading afterwards to Khao Sok it is a long drive. Oneway around 2,5 hours. We came back home to our hotel around 20.00. But the trip is absolutely worth the rides! Khao Sok is absolutely stunning nature and we had a really beautiful time.
The trip was excellent and well worth the money. Amazing scenery and all guides were brilliant. Sligjt downside was food being served to tables with people you don't know and a buffet would be better
The guide wasn't very clear at the beginning of what the itinerary of the day would look like. He changed the scehduled plan which usually is fine, especially when visiting natural sightseeing but didn't explain that to us. There was no food and drink provided until 2pm (after 2 hours driving, 1 hour of boat and 2 hours of hiking). we didn't even stopped at khao sam khloe for photo opportunities. On the bright side, lunch was yummy, the park is stunning and we even saw a wild elephant!
Really good, day ran smoothly and the food was great. The national park is stunning! Unfortunately the guide spoke very little English so I felt we missed out on information which would of been nice
The negatives - scary van ride that arrived an hour late, sore behinds from sitting on the hard boards on the boat! These were nothing in comparison to the positives. Our guide, Kan, was phenomenal and we enjoyed his commentary throughout the jungle and cave exploration. I'm glad we chose this instead of staying overnight!
Khao Sok is a must-do while in Thailand and this tour allows you to check it out from Krabi for a day trip. This is very helpful if you want to see the park but don't have enough time to stay there. The lunch was delicious and the drive to/from Krabi was smooth and comfortable. There were some cons, though... the tour guide's English was not good and he would mumble and even speak away from the group making it very hard to hear or understand. He'd also choose noisy or loud times to try to talk to the group rather than finding opportune times and places to speak. The whole group gave up trying to listen and understand. Also, not a huge deal, but they didn't provide coffee which is supposed to be included, and 1 bottle of water for the whole day. All in all I found this tour to be a little too expensive for the value, but seeing the incredible Khao Sok NP in a way that worked for my schedule made it worth.
The guide was terrible just wanted the trip to be over. The hiking is definetely not suitable for 4 years old. You need to be in good shape to take this trip
A perfect combination of adventure and tranquillity. This tour takes you to a place of sublime beauty and provides great insight into the area with the very informative and friendly tour guide. Absolutely wonderful day!
It was a amazing trip. The pictures don't do justice to the place. The tour company went way beyond expectations. I left my bag in the shuttle bus and the driver came back to drop it off.
wonderful nature, must see once in a lifetime! I was so impressed! the drive is about 2 hours but so smooth, driving trough gorgeous landscapes and seeing the local cultures on the road makes the time fly by. the boat that picked us up was too small for all these people but we got a new bigger longtailboat within minutes (because we were persistent!) so that was great. the nature in the park is so beautiful. words cannot express how beautiful it is. the lunch we got was so tasteful. we even got a fresh roasted fish :) a quick dive in the water and a short kajak trip makes it all so much better. than an hour in the boat… a quick walk in the jungle and a quick cave visit. so much to see. so beautiful. we got a short rainstorm on the way in the boat but that made it for me even bette, seeing the clouds fold around the mountaintops ;) please consider doing this one day tour. the bus ride is somewhat long but so much to see on the way. you won’t regret!
The lake and national park were absolutely beautiful. Our driver made us very uncomfortable as he would speed and then slam on his brakes, swerve to avoid slamming into cars stopped at signals. Our group was so happy to get to our destination in one piece. It was our 6th day in Thailand so we have been used to the driving but he was ridiculous. Our guide would speak before everyone got to our designated area so we sometimes felt we didn’t get all he was saying..
amazing tour and a one day is perfect even if its a 2 hr drive. It is well worth the drive and the van is comfortable.the tour guide and driver were great, knowledgeable, great English and very friendly. He grew up in this area and you can tell he is proud of it. Don't listen to those who say a one day trip is too much. Khao Sok is a paradise you will not see anywhere else.
