Krabi Horse Riding At Ao Nam Mao Beach

Went on ride today with my 2 daughters. The guides were very friendly and took lots of pics for us. Beautiful 1 hr ride through forest and beach.

We had a really enjoyable morning doing the 1hour ride. The pick up and drop off service was very convenient. The guide was so pleasant and took numerous videos and photos of us on the ride. The horses were well looked after and you can tell that they care for them. The stables were clean and the horses all had plenty forage. The hacking loop was fantastic with a look around the farmland area, a canter track and plenty spots to gallop up and down the beach. The bottle of water was well appreciated after. Thank you so much, this was a most enjoyable experience!

My 8 year old daughter & I had the best horse riding experience on our 2hr ride on the beach & through the countryside. The guides were amazing, & reasonably priced

Really enjoyed the horse ride 😇 All the men were lovely and made sure I was safe as I hadn’t ridden much before hand. The young man was friendly and entertaining as his horse moon loved to run! Highly recommend.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. On our way to the ride after getting picked up we had a little emergency. So we asked if we could swing by the pharmacy. They didn’t have too but made a pit stop on the way for us. The horses are well taken care of healthy and well fed. It’s really hard to keep weight on animals in this heat and all horses were round and full of energy. Also the horses we rode loved going in the water and racing on the beach. As a person who grew up having horses and riding all of my life. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do.

The staff were awesome. Not only did we get to ride on the beach but we also rode throughout the countryside. Even got to have a gallop up the beach. Our guide was the best very helpful and friendly

What I liked was that even though the 4 of us have completely different experiences (2 never been on a horse before, one of us an intermediate and one very experienced rider) we were given horses after our experience. We rode as a group but the experienced riders got to split from group and do cantering both in the country side and on beach. We did 2 hours and got stunning views and brilliant riding. My horse were excellent, well ridden and cleat, liked speed but still not hard to ride. Can highly recommend

Please do not support this. Horseback riding should not be a thing in Thailand if horses aren’t properly taken care of. I’m pretty sure there is animal abuse happening here. My horse kept stopping to eat along the way and there was an incident with the instructor’s horse. He used a string to guide my horse forward because the horse refused to go (most likely tired and probably not even fed properly). That string ended up tying around his horse and the tail. I’m attaching one photo I managed to take of the ordeal where you can see his horse fallen on the ground. His horse ended up pretty much biting the guy. Someone came to cut the string but neither of the horses were very responsive afterwards. It was traumatic. It really spooked my horse and I tried to help but I honestly slid off the back and distanced myself from the situation. I only got 15-20 min of my ride so I’m here to warn you against booking this experience. It’s really not that fun or great nor worth it. Go for a walk instead. Animal cruelty is not okay and these horses should be left alone. I don’t think that there is a good relationship between horse and human here. I’m from Texas, and I have never seen horses being handled like this or acting this way.

Excellent experience. Took a 2 hour ride through the forest and along beach. A good mix of fantastic scenery where we walked the horses as well as a chance to trot and canter in areas. Horses were very well looked after and in good shape. Great support and help from the lads who took us on the trip, and good communication on pick up location and times. Thank you

It was an amazing experience, you can also tell that they take care and love the horses. The 2 hr trip was a little too long in the heat I feel like an hour would have been much better. The trip was truly amazing and fun, I just wish they gave us a little more of a free hand with the horses, they held on to my partners horse the whole time.. they let me go freely. There were insane views, and empty beaches… I don’t think someone can ask for more

It was a beautiful experience! The horses are so well taken care of, you can really feel the love and attention they get. I opted for the 2-hour ride, and it was absolutely the best decision I could’ve made! Galloping on the beach was truly incredible 🥰 Thank you so much!

Great experience - a friend and I went and we have ridden before. We walked through the countryside and on the beach before ending with a canter and gallop across the beach. The horses were lovely and very well looked after. The tour guides were helpful and accommodating.

We are ambivalent. The riding itself is quite nice. We had booked the beach and the jungle. Both fell short of our expectations in terms of the scenery. The horses seemed tired and tortured. At the beginning there was one horse too few. Our guide was constantly smoking weed. You should think carefully about whether it's worth the money.

Booked onto the sunset ride and BBQ a few weeks ago and it exceeded expectations in every way. The staff are so friendly, and the horses are well cared for. Highly recommend the BBQ too (chicken, shrimp, octopus, pork, fish, and THE BEST pad Thai I've had so far). Mena and the team went above and beyond to deliver a truly unforgettable experience.

You go all along Ao Nam Beach with the horses. The horses are super brave and sweet (also if you have no experience). If you have more experience, you can also canter. If you don’t want, the crew is there to take care of you and the horse. The guides are really friendly and creative to make nice photos.

A fantastic gem! Stunning setting, lovely people and perfect riding! My daughter and I rode just the two of us with one guide. The stables are very near to the beach and horses very well kept. A very professional set-up and visitors are seperated into riding ability. We galloped along a deserted beach, rode into the countryside which was stunning and back along the beach to the water. A real must and highlight of the trip.

Where do I begin… Short Summary: Absolutely a must do activity! It was absolutely amazing. It’s a small locally ran business and you can tell the staff is like family. This was an amazing experience that I will never forget. More details: For me, the care of the horses is very important and 100% these horses are very well cared for. They were well groomed and feed. Secondly, the trail was so gorgeous! It was absolutely amazing to be able to see the beach and suburban life of Thailand. You go into a small town outside of Krabi and that was great to see. And lastly, the guides were great!!! They speak very little English but that wasn’t an issue. They were very friendly and helpful. I am a more experienced rider and my best friend is a beginner. The guide was able to accommodate both of our riding experiences. I was allowed to run with my horse! And my friend was able to stroll with her horse. The guides also are willing to take pictures and video of you which was very much appreciated. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great time. And I would recommend the two hours excursion. One hour will leave you wanting more.

I loved my 1 hour session with Krabi horse riding, the horses seemed well looked after and the staff there were lovely! I was the only one on our session, so I got to canter along the beach with the guide which was amazing! I think one hour is more than enough if you haven’t been riding in a while, as ached a lot the next day !

Nice, friendly, docile horses, taking you on a very pleasant stroll on the beach & surroundings, with friendly & helpful guides that made the experience very enjoyable.

An exceptional experience! The horses were happy and healthy, and the owner was awesome. We took the horses out along the beach and it was perfect. We were experienced so they allowed us to gallop the horses along the shore. I wouldn’t change a thing and would highly recommend!

I visited the stable with my 11 y daughter, who is a good rider. Me -a first timer. The pick up from our Ao Nang hotel was precise and took some 15 min drive to the site, which appeared to be a bit shaggy, but functional place. We were given horses and asked to saddle up, but no advice about the route, safety instruction nor equipment. I needed to ask for a helmet separately for my girl. Which they did have plenty, though. There were three riders in our group (Hi Jennifer if you are reading) and a guide, who spoke little english. He held my horse most of the way as I was the only first timer. The beach was close by the stable and is really beatiful! We walked by the beach the whole time, sometimes in the water even knee-deep, so be prepared to get your shoes wet. On our way back, there was an insident, as something startled the horses. My horse took a jump up and turned suddenly some 90 degrees, causing me to fall down. Unfortunate for me, there was a cut tree in the waterline causing me bleeding scratches and a good bruise on the ribs (none broken presumably). In additional to bloody shirt, fall also caused my phone to break and wet my wallet. Luckily my daughter managed to stay on saddle, even her horse did similar manouvers as mine (Wakanda forever! -as Jennifer nailed it afterwards). The staff were sorry and upset about the incident and told me that this should never happen. No medical assistance was offered though, like disinfecting the wounds or visit to a clinic to check the bump on my side, Just a ride back to hotel. Without the unfourtunate fall, this would been a 4* trip and with little extra effort from the management, this could be a 5* unique experience as the beach is really beautiful. Recommend, but at your own risk.

Great horse riding experience along the beach. Perhaps our booking was in the evening, hence the sunset and cool weather were in perfect combination for a wonderful experience. Guides were very hospitable.

Swimming with the horse, , Riding at the beach also at the sunset, going for the countryside. Biginner or experienced is no different. The horses looks amazing, is in good shape and are good for any rider. This is the perfect place to come and join the nature on a horse if you want to do something exclusive with your time in Krabi. For 2 months i came to Krabi Horseriding many times and I had such an amazing time there.

Hosts really love their horses, the horses are in very good shape and looks free and happy. Stunning beach view. Polite staff. Have donated money for the horses’ food and medication use.

<p>The tour operator/viator communications clearly broke down as we had to chase this up and only after 1 hour after the scheduled pick-up did some last minute arranged transport turn up. The folks running the horse riding at Ao Nam Mao Beach do not speak any English contrary to the advertisement which was a bit of an issue. Also check on the high-tides as our trip did not end-up on the beach due to the high-tide.<br/> All in all a bit of disappointment.</p>

I went on a 2-hour ride on a great horse called Euro. Really recommend a trip with him. We started by riding on the beach, a lot of armed gallop, before it became a nice round in forest terrain and along the road. Recommended. We also had a stop along the way where d was served ice-cold water.

Picked up sharp on time by a friendly boy. Ridden to the Farm and my horse was already there. No one else was there today so I went with the counselor. Fantastically nice ridden on a very nice horse. Well arranged and really value for money!! Super experience!!

The experience itself was beautiful. I thought the guide was riding a horse and not just running in front. This would have opened up the opportunity to trot or gallop in the woods on the way. Instead, you can only do it on a beach. However, it was already so hot at 10am that the horses had absolutely no desire. In my case, this went so far that the horse ignored all riding aids and marched stubbornly in one direction. Trying to gallop at it, it tried to grab my leg. I could understand my horse somehow but also... I then "parked" it in the shade until we got into the jungle. Then the horse was again "steerable" in the shade. The horses themselves seemed mMn healthy, well fed and the people were very friendly. The fact that the stable boys smoke all the time doesn't bother me either. For riding itself 4/5, as the stable can't help the heat, but you couldn't ride faster in the shade. But the booking was far from smooth and deserves a decent deduction again. According to the description at the time, "included in the service" was the transfer from Krabi city. Conversely, some places were not included. Further down in the fine print it was stated that the collection costs 200THB p.p. Classic example of hidden costs. Pointed out, but insisted on the costs and pointed out that everything was "clear and concise". I see things differently when it is clearly stated in one place that the transfer has been incubated, and in another place clearly the opposite. Naja... We would have paid for the transfer as well, but since the decision was made for us here, they felt blown away. Then suddenly the transfer was cancelled for us and we wanted to pay these extra costs in advance via a link. We then arrived by grave. For the whole bohei and the relentless tone I would have actually given 1/5 stars. But everything went smoothly except for the approach and we were at least brought back to Ao Nang for free. Therefore, a total of three stars again.

Relaxed ride, you ride a bit through jungle and along the beach:) You can choose which level of experience you are at when riding and get help accordingly:) Sun protection is recommended, drinking water is available on site:)

Had a super fun and relaxing trip along the beach, in the water and through a piece of beautiful nature. Very sweet horses so you can relax and enjoy.

I went in the morning. The whole beach is mine. Ha ha. It's a beautiful picture. It's good to suggest a little bit of simple training for staff. And although I didn't end up going back to the hotel, it would have been nice if I could have been sent somewhere else instead of straight to the boat ride, ha ha. But I read people's reviews that the horse was stimulated by something and then fell, and there was no insurance, so I couldn't move on the horse, ha ha.
