Krabi Hong Island Tour: Charter Private Long-tail Boat

Great service from start to finish! Definitely worth paying extra for private. The boat captain spoke very little English but enough to provide us with the necessary information and we felt in good hands.

First, it is very easy to book. And when my hotel was not included in their pick-up area, they provided an add-on option. They can also help you with an add-on lunch box (not included in tour price) which can help you during tour time. Pick-up car & pier transfer were all good & easy too. I got boat #5, driven by an experienced captain who was very polite & fun. I went solo, so the boat was very enjoyable. Boat was clean & equipped with basic safety equipment. They also provided you with bunch of water & fresh fruits. The main highlights were the islands. We went off-shore around 7.20 and it was a perfect time (to avoid some crowd) - always ask for earliest possible time. The route was Koh Lao Lading - Koh Pakbia - Hong Lagoon - Koh Hong, all were fantastic with white sand beach and green waters. I got great pictures during the tour. In short, the trip was super worthed, and I would recommend to any of my friend.

Very disappointed for what we paid.We did the early boat ride privately. Boat broke down at sea. Managed to get back and was told 2-3 hours to fix. Luckily after some discussions another boat became available Said we want to snorkel but wasn't understood. Got to Hong island and was told 2 hours here we said no thank you, just 1 hour as we want to snorkel. After waiting on the hot jetty for half hour we managed to find the company's contact details and he finally picked us up. Couldn't snorkel due to jelly fish. Asked if we can snorkel elsewhere, went to a second island 5 mins away and moored up and jelly fish everywhere. Said can we go somewhere else and was told we had run out of time and had to go back now. Disappointed we didn't get a full boat trip due to factors which were not our fault but the companies. I'm also aware jelly fish may not have been present at another island nearby which we could have tried and had time if the boat hadn't broken down and we were collected after an hour. We asked to be dropped off at Railay ( no jellyfish) and we sorted our return journey. Stunning!

It was great! I have a 5 and 7 year old so an all day trip was out. This was perfect.

We had such a great time! Highly recommend boat number 5 — the captain was seriously the best. He was so nice, made the whole trip super fun, and even took a bunch of pictures for us so we didn’t have to worry about it. Such a legend. The free fruit was delicious and really refreshing. All the islands were absolutely beautiful, and everything was really well organized from start to finish. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. Definitely recommend!

I’m sorry to say, but after experiencing other tours near Krabi I would not recommend this one. The boat driver was going super fast, we got constantly sprayed in the face with salt water. But primarily, the guide did not speak English. Other guides would talk about the place we were being taken to, and get off the boat with us to take pictures and show us round. This guide just stayed in the boat and didn’t add any value, which was a shame. Maybe we got unlucky with the staff selection that day.

Amazing experience. Went on a solo date for my bday and it was so good. Having the opportunity to adjust and decide on how many hours you get to spend on each beach as per your liking, is a plus.

Very relaxing private tour of four islands. Thy provide lots of water and fresh fruit. Ironically some of the beaches where we landed are stoney so a pair of flip flops would assist. Good value for money and a fantastic half day.

This tour suited us best when doing our research. Easy to book, friendly boat operator. Little mix-up with pick-up time. Would have been nice to have had longer on Hong Island as there were a few things to do: climb to viewpoint and nature trail; beach. We only had time to climb to the viewpoint, but we did have a snorkel afterwards which prob used the time. Glad we chose this tour.

Great staff and experience from start to finish . Pick up was on time and transition to the long tail boat speedy. Had a great day,a lovely prepared melon and pineapple spread in between.

This tour was awesome and we really enjoyed seeing the beautiful islands. Leaving early was a must! We had Hong Island almost to ourselves and it was beautiful.

From start to finish we were amazed at the quality of service. Communication was very thorough and easy as far as pick up and details. Our guides were so kind and helpful and the fruit was fresh and delicious. We were picked up promptly to get quiet access to Hong Island and we are so glad we went with private service!! Transition island to island was quick rather than being bustled in long lines for bigger boats. We would recommend this to anyone wanting quality and quiet away from the crowded boats

The staff was very accommodating, working with scheduling changes and adapting to special issues. It was a beautiful experience, one I won’t forget!

The only reason we booked a private boat was so we could arrange an early pick up to try and avoid some of the crowds at Hong Island. Other reviews had mentioned going there first so we did not think we had to specify, however we were taken to the smaller islands first so by the time we got to hong island it was super busy. We also missed out on one of the smaller islands due to some miss communication with our guide. The boat isn’t very comfortable either, I would recommend paying more for a luxury private boat or just save your money and book a group tour, this was not worth it.

From hotel transfer to boat dock and island travel everything was great. Boat Captain was very helpful and allowed us to make choices where to dock and swim. Kept us entertained with stories of area. Would highly recommend. Shout out to Sun for keeping us up to date and time with communication.

The trip to Hong Island was nice, for us we could’ve just gone there and left the other spots out. That same trip just to Hong Island can be made right off the beach in Ao Nang. It does save a lot of money. I think this trip would be worth it if you’re with a bigger group or if the captain would speak english and would be able to tell you a little about the environment. Our captain could not speak english and communicating was quiet hard. He tried his best but next time we will just take the longtail boat off the beach.

Everything was very well organized. We enjoyed the private travel by boat, even if the weather conditions were not optimal and some of the spots overcrowded.

Had a wonderful day exploring Hong Island. 4 stops with the last being epic with an absolutely gorgeous beach! Nice to have a private long tail boat but they are quite noisy so difficult to talk. Nok is very nice and the boat was handled well. Thank goodness for Google Translate as their English is very limited though.

Had read all the reviews, no one mentioned it took an hour and a half to get to the first island. It may have been due to the heavy rain but it was a long and wet journey. Islands were very beautiful and our driver took us to some amazing places, only 25 mins between islands. Not something I will recommend if you get motion sickness, however, if you enjoy about journey then it’s worth during

Amazing experience, worth to request early bird pick-up. We met with Bao our longtail boat driver at 6:30am and we were the first ones to arrive at Hong Island. If you don’t want to get up so early I’d say 7:00 am is a convenient pick-up time too because you will see Hong Island still empty but with a better lighting. The local tour organizers made the best of our trip, always responding and supportive. Everything went smoothly and Bao was the best, offering us fresh delicious fruit and water. We 100% recommend booking this tour!

The tour was amazing !! Very accommodating in taking us at 6am. We were the first on Hong Island and had the whole island to ourselves for 15min. Nothing beats that !! They were very prompt in picking us up and had wonderful fruit and ice cold water on the long tail. Since you have the boat to yourselves the schedule is flexible which is very nice. We ran into one issue as can be expected on long tail boats with lots of moving parts. On the trip back the propeller fell off into the water so we had to wait around 45min to be picked up by another long tail. On the way back on that boat there was abit of delay because the engine kept overheating. Eventually we made it back to the pier. I am not sure if this is a normal process/procedure with longtail boats. The tour and trip was amazing though !!!!

The boat took off from the beach at our hotel and had three destinations. The first destination was the one we spent the longest at. It was an island that had both a beach and a staircase you could climb to the top of the mountain to get a good view. I grabbed a smoothie at the refreshment shack and laid on the shady part of the beach while my life climbed up the mountain to get a good view. We went in the water as well, which was extremely warm, but we did need to watch out for the jellyfish! I accidentally bumped into one, but luckily it did not bother me. After about an hour and a half, we got back on our boat and headed to the next destination. This was one was just a picture opportunity, where we stayed in the boat with a nice landscape behind us. Lastly, we headed over to another smaller island where we hung out on the beach for about a half an hour until it was finally time to head home. On the way back, we went by an island inhabited by monkeys and got to toss fruit at them. It was fun to see them go after the fruit and even swim out into the water to get it! Overall, it was a really great experience.

Our family really enjoyed our private tour of the islands. Climb the stairs at Koh Hong, the view is amazing.

Great tour and the captain was great. Unfortunately there were jellyfish everywhere which made it impossible to snorkel without getting stung on the face and we had to be cautious while swimming, however can't blame the tour for nature. When we did try to snorkel it was unfortunately a bit disappointing probably from overtourism destroying it all. Regardless the tour was well-run and all went smooth.

Hong island is beautiful. The trail, the see, the view from the lookout is beautiful. However, we paid for 2 island private tour, which our boatman did not know about. He didn't speak English and we weren't given snorkel equipment, luckily we had our own. Since we couldn't negotiate with him, he couldn't even tell us where to snorkel. He didn't even know we were going to 2 islands. On the way home, we saw one boat that they were snorkeling next to, so we stopped it for 10 minutes, we saw 1-2 fish there. This trip was not worth the price.

This trip was one off the most memorable and beautiful tour , the places where we were and the viewpoints where organizers it was absolutely incredibly beautiful. I can highly recommend if you are in the area .

Truly a one of a kind experience and the only way I would island hop in Krabi again! We will be telling the story of this trip for the rest of our lives! First, I had requested to change the pick-up location and the response was prompt and without any problems. My wife and I were picked up on time, the driver was even waiting for us when we walked out to the lobby of our hotel. The weather was beautiful and we hopped right into the boat and took off - about 80% into the trip to the first island our boats motor blew and we were slightly stranded but the crew was no way shaken and got us to the first stop. Just some extra laughs and a great story to share. After our first island my wife and I went back out and the crew had already prepared and called out a new boat for us to finish the day! The rest of the trip was filled with some snorkeling but most importantly beautiful vistas and an unbelievable ride! I would highly recommend the private route as we were able to connect with our drivers and learn a little bit more about the culture and areas we visited.

I highly recommend this tour! My friends & I had an amazing time on our half day excursion to the hong islands with our guide. We felt safe & comfortable. Our boat driver was incredibly friendly and helped us to decide on the perfect itinerary for us. He even showed us one of the jelly fish in the water before we jumped in to snorkel. The fruit on the boat was delicious and fresh as well. Don't miss this!

Our guide was very friendly. He got us to the island first (before any other tourists), made us a delicious fruit platter, took nice photos of us, and even applied vinegar to a few minor jellyfish stings we got.

We were picked up a bit earlier - 6:30am - to beat most of the morning crowds. We loved all the spots and felt like we had enough time to see it all. We went snorkelling and saw lots of yellow striped fish - amazing! Our captain was friendly and provided us with water and watermelon and pineapple. We had a big ice cooler for our other snacks and water. Would recommend this for other couples and families!

Our boat captain was amazing and didn’t rush us at all through the stops. The concerns I had are with the company. They sent a note asking if 8am pickup would work. I asked if 7 would be ok as I wanted an early start. 5 days, no reply. I didn’t get a reply even the day before. I tried to send another note asking to confirm if they will be picking us up at 7 as requested. Again no response. I had to reach out to Viator for support and even they struggled to get a response. I finally got a reply less than 12 hours before the start of our tour, ignoring again my request for 7am, stating they will pick us up at 8 Why pay for a private tour if it’s not customizable at all. Including the start time…

The boat was clean in good condition with beautiful flower decoration. Much more best than other boats. We changed the itinerary and this was fine with them to follow. Overall a great experience.

Wow what an amazing day. Would definitely recommend getting up early and leaving at 6am to beat the crowds. We got to Hong Island at sunrise and were the only tourists on the beach. Truly a beautiful experience. We had one hour here but to be honest could have stayed all day Our longtail driver then drove us through the beautiful Hong lagoon and again it was quiet and stunning waters and rock formations We did two other island stops then moored up to do some snorkelling which was lovely. Unfortunately by then the weather had changed and we had an hour and half long really bumpy wavy ride back but our driver was amazing and how he mastered the seas to get us back to land was amazing. I would recommend taking some anti sickness pills just incase if, like me you get boat sick just incase the winds get up and you have a very bumpy journey. There is no guide and our driver spoke little English but you didn’t need it as he looked after us and provided water and fresh fruits and was an experienced great longtail boat captain Truly one of our most special days and the Hong Islands are spectacular and well worth visiting

Great tour. The island and beaches are beautiful, pristine. Would definitely recommend it. The private tour gives you ample time between each location so it feels relaxing not rushed.

The trip was well organised and punctual. We had a great boat trip with a great driver. We took the morning trip and still experienced some congestion when entering and exiting some of the locations due to the number of visitors. However, we still had enough space to move around and explore the islands. The islands and locations are not large but beautiful and worth visiting on a half day trip, perhaps a full day trip would allow you to spend more time at the beaches. However, the time we had was enough for us.

Great tour! Worth the price to do a private tour. Hit all the beautiful spots along Hong Island. I was a little worried because this doesn’t have a set start time on here but just message them and you can basically start whenever you want in the morning. They picked us up at 6:30 from our hotel and we were at the island by 7:30. We were the first people on the beach which was worth it! It was beautiful and felt secluded. Our Tour guide was very kind, but he didnt speak a lot of English. that’s okay though because he was still able to communicate how much time we had at each place, he also cut us up some fruit, and took pics for us. Overall we had a great time!

This is really the best tour company to do the hong islands private boat. They went above and beyond. Our boat captain was amazing and had so much patience with us. He took us to all the places that were worth it.

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide was excellent and made small adjustments for us throughout the tour according to needs. We upgraded to 4 islands and were very happy we did so. Gorgeous scenery, beaches and a walk through the jungle. Would recommend.

Hong Island was our favorite part of this private tour. Beach was perfect, better than the 2nd beach they take you to that had rocks. We got smoothies and spent time seeing all the fish around us in the water.

Our lunch on a deserted beach was delicious and the tour was ECO friendly, picked up on the beach in front of our hotel what’s not to love about that!

This was the best way to see the islands around Krabi. Even in the rainy season we had a great time (even if we got soaked!) and got to see some incredible scenery. One of the highlights of the trip!

This was a fun trip. While the weather was damp and rainy for half of our trip, both guides made it comfortable and enjoyable. We still saw a lot and caught some sun at Hong Island! This trip was nice especially because the stops we went to weren’t as crowded which we enjoyed. Be sure to bring a waterproof bag and a camera :) thanks for a fun and safe trip!

We were confused about where the pick up point was supposed to be but a quick phone call to the operator sorted it out. The captain met us at the hotel beach, and got us to our islands. He was knowledgeable of where it would be a good photo opportunity and reminded us to get our camera ready. Extremely nice and helpful. We arrived early and beat the crowd, all the islands have their own unique beauty. Overall, a very good experience.

We went as a family with a 6 year old kid and had a wonderful time, so good that we booked a second trip with them. Everything is as described, evem better, boat in good condition, attention, punctuality. We could bathe, snorkel and were never rushed. Highly recommend! We had fun and it was a great experience!
