We really enjoyed this tour overall — the atmosphere was great, the team was friendly, and we appreciated that no one rushed us. The stops were long enough to swim, relax, and truly enjoy the beautiful islands. It felt like a well-organized and pleasant experience from start to finish. The only downside for us was the bioluminescent plankton part. We booked the tour specifically because we really wanted to see the glowing plankton — but unfortunately, we didn’t see any that night. We understand this is a natural phenomenon and not the operator’s fault, but it’s good for future travelers to know that the plankton isn’t guaranteed. If you choose this tour mainly for that experience, just keep in mind that you may not get what you’re paying for. Apart from that, everything was lovely and we had a great time!
We had such an incredible time on the Krabi 7 Island Sunset Tour! The staff really made the trip extra special – they were so helpful with taking photos and knew all the best spots for those perfect shots. Their advice on snorkelling was spot on too, which made it easy to enjoy the underwater world. Each island stop gave us just the right amount of time to explore if you don’t mind shorter visits, and the sunset was absolutely beautiful to watch from the boat. The real highlight, though, was the bioluminescent plankton – such a magical experience and unlike anything we’d seen before. All in all, a well-organised, friendly, and memorable tour that I’d definitely recommend!
An absolutely fabulous all day tour guided by our amazing tour guide Palm. She was so informative and gave us great information all day long. We were really looked after. The different islands are spectacular and breathtaking. We had several stops and time was set aside to snorkel. The food was delicious. Palm our tour guide was exceptional. I would highly recommend this tour. You’ll love it.
A comfortable Longtail boat ride, stunning island views and snorkeling experiences, a lovely beach at Poda island with a simple early dinner topped off with the amazing sight of bioluminescent plankton after sunset.
Really a pleasant n wonderful staff. Very helpful. Would definitely go again if I come back for Thai adventures.
If you’re ready for a super relaxing time on the water with some good swimming, good snorkeling and beautiful views of the majestic rocks, this is your tour. Had a nice time with my adult kiddos enjoying the wonderful country of Thailand and Krabi is a not miss place.
one of the few long tail or speed boat cruises meant for whole day. lovely cruise. all nature. sun sea and sand. will certainly do again.
We had this tour booked and included for us as part of our holiday booking, if it was that I'd booked it myself I may have had a slightly harsher view on how the experience went. We were advised we would be picked up from our hotel at 12pm, ready to start the tour. Just before 12, the driver arrived and we were off to a flying start. Once we arrived at the meeting point at Noppharat Thara, we signed in and were then advised we had to wait around until 13:00 for everyone else to turn up, it was only 12:10 so it felt like a wasted hour sitting around waiting for 25 other people to arrive. Some drinks and light snacks were provided and there were toilets onsight but with plenty of bugs around it was still frustrating to have to stand around waiting for so long, surely a pickup 30 mins before would have been adequate. Once the rest of the group arrived our group guide 'Green Curry' started the briefing only to have to restart after one of the group had wandered off to the toilet despite just being on the beach nearby for 20 plus minutes - not their fault but a frustration when you've already waited an hour to then have to deal with idiots. We were then all shown to the boat that we would be using for the afternoon and everyone boarded and was instructed to wear their life jacket "for the picture for the coastguard" before being allowed to take it off for the rest of the journey - not sure if that quite meets the safety requirement but we can swim so oh well. Green Curry then talked us through the stops for the afternoon and it quickly became apparent this is NOT a 7 ISLANDS tour at all - but a 7 STOPS tour. This is clearly misleading in the name advertised on both the booking sights and the way it is communicated. We were advised the day would consist of: - Koh Tup and Koh Mor: This is 1 stop but is 2 small islands connected by a sandbar. There are a few small cafe shacks but NO toilets. - Chicken Island - Only a photostop for 15 mins, none got off the boat - Snorkelling Stop 1 - We stopped for 40 minutes to allow those that wanted to snorkel to do so at stop 1 - Snorkelling Stop 2 - After the first snorkelling stop we then sailed on for 5-10 mins and stopped for another 40 minutes snorkelling - Koh Poda - A longer stop at picturesque Koh Poda which was also where the buffet dinner was served (I'll get onto that shortly!!) - Bioluminescent Snorkelling - 15 minutes in the dark off the side of a cliff near Railay So....with the 1st stop being technically 2 islands and the latter stops counting as 1 each - that makes 7 stops. Of that though there are 4 islands of which 2 are connected and 1 you don't get off the boat at. If you are a non-snorkeller there is an awful lot of time sitting around on a boat bobbing in the ocean waiting for other people! --- Koh Tup and Koh Mor --- A lovely little stop with a sandbar connecting the two small islands at low tide. Pretty dodgy walking between the 2 however as all the boats throw their anchors into the sandbar people are walking along...so you really have to watch out! There are a couple of small cafes but they are really leaning into the tourism tax - 100baht for a fresh coconut that you can get for 50-60baht in Ao Nang. There are no toilets here which is a shame given there is plenty of food and drink on offer and hundreds of tourists...it makes going in the water slightly questionable... --- Chicken Island --- Once you've seen it, thats it. A limestone cliff in the shape of a chickens head, to be honest I'm not sure what more I was expecting given the name but the inability to get off the boat at all is a shame. --- Snorkelling Stops -- So the snorkelling stops were chaotic! Ignorant members of the group refusing to follow basic instructions led to plenty of shouting from Green Curry, not a particularly relaxing experience but likewise not his fault. We had a couple of the group swim too close and kick the coral...needless to say the coral won cutting their feet open but it was surprising when they came aboard and there was no first aid kit! The areas themselves were good for snorkelling, plenty to see but when you've got 40 minutes...once you've seen a tiger fish...you've seen a tiger fish you don't necessarily need another 39 minutes to see the same species over and over again. To then move 10 mins away and repeat the process again for another 40 minutes - I felt sorry for those onboard not wanting to snorkel and the older couple that clearly booked it thinking it was a "sail off into the sunset dinner cruise" oh how wrong they were! Once Green Curry had finally rounded up the idiots refusing to come back to the boat despite it being nearly 50 minutes or so, we then headed to Koh Poda for a "buffet BBQ". Well...buffet was correct...BBQ was not! We were met by 4 or 5 cloches with food in them being poured out of plastic bags. If it was purely a leafy green salad coming out of a plastic bag it would make sense...but not bright orange fried chicken, spaghetti and rice. For those that were 'vegetarian' there were some really fresh and crispy looking spring rolls - probably the best looking bit of food there but as I'd already taken a bit of the rubbery orange chicken I was denied. The highlight of the dinner was sitting with likeminded fellow travellers having a good old chat. Sadly there was no sunset, if it wasn't for the rainclouds we would have still been on the wrong side of the island to watch it. The other highlight of dinner was having access to a toilet...almost 5 hours after setting off from Noppharat Thara Beach. --- Bioluminescent Snorkelling --- So the pinnacle of the trip, bioluminescent snorkelling!!! Due to having to pick up a group of 5 lads from Railay before departing on the tour, Green Curry had organised for us to do this close to Railay where he believed they were being dropped off. It wasn't until we got there they had the care to inform him they didn't want to go back to Railay but instead Ao Nang with everyone else. What this meant is we were now in a subpar place for the bioluminescence and also 20 minutes out of our way - HUGELY FRUSTRATING - even more so it was the same 5 muppets we had to keep waiting for at each stop as they all wanted individual and group photos doing ridiculous poses for their social medias living their "best lives". Due to this the plankton was visible but barely. Those not wanting to descend into the dark sea had it demonstrated on the boat with a bucket but it wasn't optimal or a magical experience as you'd imagine by any means. If you are considering it please do set your expectations lower than magical! For those that dared to jump into the sea - we did see more, when looking underwater with a mask and waving your hands and feet around you could see the plankton sparkle. Again not like something out of a wizarding movie but a small trail of sparkling plankton for a few seconds - just watch how far you drift as its easy to headbutt the hull of the boat when you're looking down in the dark! We only did this for 15 minutes as again...once you'd seen it there wasn't anything more to it. Plus you can't see any jellyfish or anything around you anyway so the less time the better really! Once we finished up we got aboard and headed back to Noppharat Thara Pier. Once we started to get off the boat, Green Curry was insistently shouting to "stay with him" the whole time...it felt a little ropey to be honest wandering around in the dark. We walked back up the beach to the point we all met earlier in the day before the groups were split into smaller groups for drop offs - just as the heavens opened and a cracking tropical thunderstorm ensued. So we stood there waiting for our hotel name, waiting and then waited some more. After all the other members of our group....and the 7 OTHER TOUR GROUPS had all left....just 4 of us stood in the rain with Green Curry continually apologising for the delay. 45 minutes after getting there...sodden with rain we finally had a drop off vehicle turn up to take the last 4 of us to our hotels. Truth be told, if I'd had paid for it, I'd have asked for a refund! The locations were beautiful and that was the real takeaway from the afternoon. I felt sorry for our guide Green Curry as he was a nice enough chap, funny and clearly very knowledgeable but it felt like he was fighting a losing battle with the group we had - maybe these groups should be smaller and capped to 15? The organisation of day clearly wasn't for everyone and I feel that was due to the lack of clarity of the tour but for the price it is what it is. The food advertised as a BBQ really is a con - I would genuinely recommend packing snacks as we had the dinner and are pretty convinced it made one of us ill. This tour has SO much potential as the locations are fantastic and the guide was great, but smaller groups, a first aid kit on board, an actual BBQ buffet and properly planned drop offs are essential to getting it to where people would expect it to be from how it is advertised.
Far too busy , staff lovely but didn’t visit 7 islands and the plankton was a major disappointment…having experienced plankton before We only visited 2 islands 2 snorkelling stops photo of chicken island !
One of the best tours I have ever done, the places were espectacular and the service was class, everything was just perfect and it was a great way to see the best about the islands and discover the diversity and magic that the islands offer I one to give a special shootout to the crew that guided us and commanded the ship, they are just amazing, specially Bort (I don't remember his name very well, apologies) he is a really sympathetic young man, and was always keeping an eye on us On our case, we mentioned that we were not gonna have lunch, as my wife and I are fasting due Ramadan. He totally understand us, and what's more, he and his crew saved food for us, and we end are on top of the ship after 7 PM, I cannot describe in words just how grateful we feel towards them, they are golden people 🙏
The whole day was badly organised from start to finish. There were to many people in the group, the boat was very cramped and uncomfortable, it was also very unsafe, two people needed medical treatment due to falls, the steps were not fastened securely to the side so they kept slipping away, my advice would be to do the trip which is lovely scenery by the way, but do it on a larger vessel, there were a few motor boats on the trip that looked a lot more comfortable.
An unforgettable day with Ow! He picked us up from our hotel and stayed with us the entire day, making sure everything was perfect. We explored seven beautiful islands with his boat friend, went snorkeling, and enjoyed fresh pineapple, watermelon, water, and soft drinks. The final island was the perfect spot for a breathtaking sunset, followed by an incredible BBQ dinner. The food was amazing, and the whole experience was just perfect. On the way back, Ow showed us the magical bioluminescent water lights, and we even got to swim among them—it was absolutely incredible! Thank you, Ow, for making our day so special—we will definitely be back!
I loved every aspect of this tour. Everything went nice, they came to pick us up and droped us in our hotel. The guide was very friendly and nice. They took us to great spot for snorkeling. And the best part was snorkeling in the dark and experiencing bioluminescent plankton. I 💯 recommend it.
We are both late 50's early 60's. I was worried about the climbing on and off the longboat especially when snorkeling. Pong and his team were great, always ready to give a hand if needed. BBQ was lovely.
Tour program was different from the explanation. First of all meeting point was Napparat Thara Pier at 12 pm but they call me at 12 pm and said pier change we will pick you up 12:30. Tour started Ao Nam Mao pier at 14:00. We haven’t been to Ko Ya Wa Sam. Poda island we stayed only 50mins. Except the unorganised things it was ok.
It was a great tour, very well organised: we were picked up at the hotel and dropped off at the end and everything in between went smoothly. The places we visited are amazing and very worth seeing, and the swim at night with plankton was magical. Staff were great and attentive. Dinner was really tasty too. My daughter said she wouldn’t do the same tour again 😊
Just to note it is not swimming at 7 islands. The tour was well organized. especially loved that the leader tried to give some background to everywhere we went and was informative as to what would happen and how long we would have. Especially loved the fact the he warned about stepping on coral and the damage it brings. They offered to take pics for anyone who needed.
The views are stunning. However, the boat had the most uncomfortable detachable ladder and the overall process of getting in and out was very awkward. I think it is worth spending abit more to go on a luxury version of the trip. Save your money and grab a ticket from one of the various tourist info kiosks around krabi.
No 7 islands visited. Chaotic start that wasted lot of time. Quick pass by visits to some islands. No commentary. 2 daytime snorkeling sessions where there were no corals or fish. Dinner at 4.30p. Sunset was good. Crowded but okay. After tour it took long time to get vans arranged and took an hour to reach hotel back by 10p.
Great trip overall. The rain didn’t hinder our experience much at all - but bad weather necessitated changing travel plans for the boat occasionally. The islands are so cool, and the snorkeling was genuinely very fun - I don’t normally like it, but they had great equipment. The water was warm and enjoyable. The food on the island was great as well! The bioluminescent swim was so interesting, I’ve never done anything like it. The boat was fairly quiet, even though our tour guide tried to encourage engagement. Would recommend doing as a small group or just not a solo traveler - most people came in pairs or groups. It’s best if the weather is kind and the moon is minimal overall, but even though that wasn’t our experience, we had a great time.
We weren’t expecting good weather and we were told that we might not go to some places but it ended up being an amazing trip.
It seems they never do 7 Island, skipped 3 by saying weather conditions is unsuitable. But if they do 7 then time will not be enough
Don't waste your time and money to visit 7 islands in 7 hours. It's easy too much to cover in short period. You'll be constantly made to board and unboard the boat. You don't get to enjoy any place with peace. Worst of this trip is dinner which feels like cattle class hoarded on railay beach. This tour is operated by local vendors and this online listing is just skimming the high margin cream from you making it look premium. Don't fall for it. Acoid this and go to market for same tour lesser priced. Instead take just 1 or 2 Island to enjoy the nature of lesser places. If you can afford to pay 30% extra and you're 4 or more people then it's best for you to do a private longtail boat. Go to Aonang beach front and inquire for private trips.
great views! nice staff and the food was really good too! It was really nice to see the sunset on the island while having some refreshments on the shore!
The Krabi 7 Islands tour exceeded my expectations. It's well organized with 3 times of snorkeling . The staff were friendly, even when I provided the wrong hotel name for pickup. Their efficient communication via email ensured a smooth experience. The scenic beauty and bioluminescence made this trip truly enjoyable. Highly recommended!
This would have been an excellent trip if the facilitating crew had instructed the participants not to touch the coral and other marine life before entering the water for the snorkeling. I had to ask two people to stop standing on the coral, and then explain to them why and how damaging it is. Neither seemed to understand beforehand that what they were doing could kill the coral. I actually found it deeply disturbing that no member of the crew mentioned this before the tour group entered the water. I hope going forward, that the crew make it a priority to ensure customers understand how crucial it is respect the marine life before entering the water!!! It was so very disturbing and disappointing that this didn't happen today. Aside of the potential harm and damage, failing to instruct and advise the participants during the tour is very unprofessional and demonstrates a complete lack of care for the beautiful, but fragile marine life. Otherwise, this would have been an excellent day out, friendly staff and good food, but massively let down through lack of instruction and advice regarding the sea life
Ver hesitant after reading some reveiws ,however the trip was excellent ,guide niki was fab ,the island stops gave you plenty of time to enjoy the swimming snorkling was good bbq food was lovely cant fault it at all great day had highly reccomend
Great experience! The sunset was amazing. I expected the bioluminescence a little bit different…. But it was ok! We were able to snorkel and see some beautiful species!
I booked this tour mainly to catch the sunset. The attached photos show that the sunset occurred behind a mountain. I was really disappointed. They also served the food which was not barbecue like the brochure said, at the same time we were supposed to be catching the sunset. Isn't there another island more suitable to watch the sunset?
The tour was as advertised: 7 islands (some you just look at from the boat), snorkelling over dead coral with plenty of live fish, sunset, barbecue, bioluminescent plankton (not spectacular but interesting). The staff were lovely and we really appreciated their hard work to make the tour fun. The big problem - and I knocked two stars off for this - was that the speedboat was way way overcrowded. I counted 30 guests plus about 5 crew. Everybody was looking grumpy at the start and I’m sure that’s because people were thinking, “bloody hell, I didn’t think it would be this rammed”. It was difficult to move around on the boat and there was nowhere to put your stuff. So you have the unpleasant feeling, right from the off, that you’ve been ripped off. So overall, because of the staff and some good experiences, three stars.
We were extremely impressed by the staff who made the trip fun and safe. Lots of opportunities to snorkel or just sit back and admire the fabulous scenery. Exceptional value for the money.
Our guide Sid was great, kept it moving along. Would have liked more snorkelling time as the jellyfish were a challenge. The sunset was a non event sue to clouds however, the dinner on the beach was quite good. The nigh-time snorkelling we passed as there was zero visibility and we were concerned about the jellyfish. We felt overall great value for what we paid, appreciated being picked up from out hotel and brought back once at the end.
Great way to view the islands from a boat. Amazing scenery! We stay at the sand bar for 30 min, snorkel for 45 min, look at chicken island, snorkel again for 45 min, eat dinner at poda island for 2 hours to watch sunset. Then look at the bioluminescence. I would avoid this if you have motion sickness because you will be stuck on the boat until after the last activity. This is one and done type of deal. I recommend if you have not done any island hopping.
We had a terrible time. First they didnt pick us up at 12h30-13h00, but instead at 13h40 (and this after we sent message asking about our ride). We only got on the boat near ~14h00. The boat itself was terrible, an old longboat with a sketchy improvised front engine, overpacked with people. There were strong winds and we thought maybe the trip would be called off, but the guides insisted on going. We had a scary trip to Railay Beach, with the boat almost flipping a few times. We decided to get off at Railay, since we didnt feel safe and the weather looked like it would only get worse. I think it was a good decision. Do not recomend.
Lovely day out but did not get to see 7 islands. Probably did around 4? The snorkelling spots were disappointing on the day as visibility was very poor. The island stops were generally very quick (first island onto 20 minutes) Lovely sunset spot but be prepared for the crowd! BBQ dinner was tasty and they had a veggie option. We were told we could get a beer for the sunset which was not the case. We also sat at the front of the boat and were not warned that we would be soaked wet by the time we were at the first island due to the waves splashing in. Further seats back were much drier but people didn’t swap so if your boat is full you may be wet all day. The bioluminescent plankton was a little disappointing as the images show these were vivid but in reality are a lot smaller. Good to do though and most of us went in the water for a couple of minutes for this part.
Boat was bit packed but It's worth the price considering the length and itinerary. Guide speaks good English and was kind & attentive. Some islands are crowded but that's just what they are. Good memories and a good last day trip in Krabi. Dinner buffet saved us after a long and arduous day out in the sea.
Well organized, courteous staff, always attentive to patron’s needs, respectful and funny. Would recommend this excursion to anyone looking for an afternoon/evening exploring the Andamon Sea.
The tour overall was great. It was nice to see some of the different islands and snorkel with the tropical fish and see the coral. Our tour guide Ros was very friendly! The only downside was the boat is a little crammed/uncomfortable and can be hard to get in and out of (which you do a lot on this tour). Additionally at our last stop the winds picked up and due to the low tide and high winds the workers had a hard time loading everyone back onto the boat. It took four or five tries to get everyone on board the moving boat. The end was a little scary due to the higher waves and hard time getting in the boat, but we overall enjoyed our day visiting islands and swimming/snorkeling.
Great trip with some lovely people, the different islands were good , the snorkelling was amazing . The staff & food were very good . Plenty to eat & drink , . The sunset was really good , great experience!
Stopped at wonderful beaches and the snorkelling spots were really nice too (one had jellyfish, but the guide showed us which ones were ok to be close to and which ones weren't) Sunset and the bioluminescence were the highlights. Keep in mind the bioluminescence is not like the super blue photos you see on the internet - they're tiny white flashes of light that appear when you move underwater, making you feel like you're in outer space!!! Pro tip: do not seat on the first 2 rows if you don't want to get wet
Very cool guided tour. The best we had during our stay in Thailand. Ariel, our guide, was very accommodating and motivated. She kept the group entertained with humor and sensitivity without being intrusive. Again, any time.
As a family ,we enjoyed this trip,it follows the itinerary described unlike some other tours we had done . Our only faults where that before departure there is about an hour of waiting around until they organise the groups Unfortunately most of our sea swimming could not be done as there was a lot of sea lice biting,it’s not terrible (like mosquitoe bites) You would need to be careful getting in & out as sometimes ladder was unsecure causing one of the passengers to get a bad cut. All boats congregate at sunset so island is crowded. Apart from that lovely scenery & a great day was had by all
Overall it was a nice experience. We started 15 in Krabi and picked up 4 more from Railey beach. 19 was the most you can place in a long tail boat without cramming. After 4 weeks in Thailand I conclude that 99% of all guides speak poor English to the level of barely understanding what they say. Asking questions is futile as they are rarely able to speak outside the learned message. Don’t ask me what the 7 islands were, for sure there were not 7. We went on 2-3 of them for the beaches. Some of them just sailed around for pictures. Railey beach is the first and you can not stop for more than 5 minutes, the rest of the allotted time is spent walking to and fro the pier as it is quite a long way. We snorkelled once. The plankton was the highlight even though there was a full moon and the brighter it is the less you see. But we swam near the rocks at the entrance in a cave and it was visible. The guide was nice, he offered to go in the cave with us but we didn’t have the courage :) he was also nice throughout the trip, helped with my 6 yrs old load/unload from boat. They really like children and pay special attention to them wherever you go. Food was really blend, but we learned our lesson and always carry soy souce in backpack so it definitely made it better.
The island views are breathtaking. The guides were very helpful. We had plenty of time to snorkel at 3 separate islands. The highlight was the bioluminescent plankton after dark It is hard to get in and out of the boat if you are not strong.
Me and my boyfriend booked this trip and it happened to be be raining during the second half of this trip, the tour guide then decided to skip railay without telling us, not let us get off the boat at chicken island and only snorkeled at the other snorkeling bay for about 3 minutes, bioilluminescence plankton was very short too, and the BBQ food was not great, some skewers, rice and curry. There was also prawns which didnt taste fresh at all. I regret booking this, the only part i enjoyed was the tup island. Also, half of the people on our tour had babies/werent keep explorers meaning that they always wanted to leave the places we visited earlier, which is not a personal issue, just made me and my boyfriend feel like everyone was waiting for us to finish. Furthermore, when it was over and we spoke to the guide about how we felt underwhelmed with the experience, she told us to speak to the agency we booked with. They said they cannot control the weather and wont give us any compensation for the islands/ places that were skipped. The lady we spoke to was also very rude and shouted and clapped her hands in our face telling us we have already been on the trip so they wont give us any compensation. We didnt ask for a refund, we asked for a fair amount back, possibly 25%. These tour agencies will not give you any money back regardless so it is very risky booking if the weather isnt perfect as they take it in their own hands to change the sceduled programme.
Views were amazing and bbq dinner delicious! The main guide jumped in the water to free dive and guide us as well. Pickup is midday ish so you can relax for the morning with this one.
I thought the actual tour was amazing. So many beautiful stops, the bioluminescent plankton was a highlight. The food was also very good. However I wouldn’t recommend if you are staying in Klong Muang beach area. The tour provider gave us a pick up time that didn’t match what the taxi driver was given and were made to wait nearly an hour in our hotel lobby for our transfer. Then when we arrived at the pier, we had to wait another 45 minutes for the rest of the transfers to arrive. At the end of the trip, there was no transport waiting for us and we had to wait an additional 45 minutes for them to drop everyone else off before coming back to collect us. It was a very long day.
This is well worth booking. Our host Ariel was very helpful, caring and informative. We visited 2 islands twice, for different types of visits. One was to drop off the food for dinner the other one was a beach stop and a snorkelling stop. We had a great time on this trip and the sunset was a real highlight after dinner. The bioluminescence isn’t like having a light on in the water, it’s a naturally occurring phenomenon and so is more subtle, you can’t expect a laser show! We saw it best when buckets of sea water were thrown on deck, but the best way to see is get in the water and agitate it vigorously! Drinking water was provided throughout the day.
The whole day was fantastic! We had an awesome and attentive guide, made sure we knew exactly what was happening at all times. The views were beautiful! Snorkelling was great, even if visibility wasn’t great due to currents. The plankton were so cool to see! Not what we were expecting but truly an experience to have at least once in your life! Like swimming in stars. Thank you!
