Rok Island was beautiful, both the sand and the water. The snorkelling spot a few minutes away was the best of the 3 stops. Although we didn’t see lots of fish the coral was quite nice. Prepare yourself that you only spend approximately 90 minutes at Rok Island. The remaining time will be spent stopping at two other locations to snorkel (one of them Haa Island) and those aren’t worth stopping at. The speedboat is a terrible ride that involves significant bumps and people vomiting around you. Between each destination it is approximately 40-60 minutes of this type of ride. If I was rating Rok Island I would give a rating of 4.9/5. However when we factor in the entire experience it is a 2.

The entire day was brilliant. Everything started on time. Everything was explained clearly and the host was a delight, with an excellent sense of humour. The chosen two locations were great, the waters were really clear with lots of different sea life to see. Koh Rok is one of the most stunning islands I’ve ever seen. The lunch was delicious and the fruit was refreshing. Lots of water always on offer. And the snorkelling equipment looked almost new. Thank you for a great trip!
We had a calm day so the seas were not rough and the boat ride was very comfortable with cushioned seats and backs. Fresh air flowed through the boat so the temperature was perfect. We had good visibility out the windows. People could ride in the front if they chose to out in the open or inside with a covered room. There's a bathroom on board. If you want the fins make sure to ask for them. They were a very good quality! We saw many colorful fish, so I would have liked to have snorkeled longer. *There was supposed to be a limit of 32 on the boat but there was at least 40 or more. Mostly three people in a seat. It was comfortable enough because we had great weather and people filled the outside seats. There is a vegetarian lunch option if requested ahead.* If you select this make sure to ask for the peanut sauce as it was not added to mine. Plenty of watermelon and pineapple and cool water available. During lunch, the walk to and from the boat is on a floating dock which is quite lengthy so if you have any trouble walking on uneven surfaces that are floating be prepared. My recommendation would be to inform the staff to be willing to lend a hand to people getting on and off the boat and also maybe grab a bag for the clients while boarding. There didn't seem to be much consideration for this. Otherwise, a lovely trip.
Wonderful snorkeling trip, guides took very good care of everyone and probably needed more barf bags after as there were quite a few people who were seasick. Snorkeling was spectacular, lunch at Ko Roak was very tasty, there was plenty of time for me to hike to the magnificent viewpoint! These guys seriously made sure everyone had a great time, highly recommend!
This was the worst excursion my husband and I have ever taken. The crew had no regard for their passengers. On the way back, the ocean was rough. The driver of the boat did not consider the conditions and went as fast as the boat could possibly go. Within the first few minutes, everyone in the front of the boat was thrown 2 feet up and slammed back down. I landed on the floor. My husband tried to get the crew to help me because his back was in pain. They would not even slow down. 2 passengers helped. There was no room in the back of the boat to sit because it was over packed. Both of us had to stand and hold the bars for the hour ride home. Both my husband and I are still in pain 5 days later. Their were small children throwing up and parents holding their kids tight so they would not fly.
The pickup from the hotel was straightforward and we were dropped off at the pier. It was a fun snorkeling experience and the crew were all very friendly and explained where we would be heading before each stop. The lunch provided was good too!
A fun day out with some great snorkelling. The crew were great, we were kept informed at each stage about what we’d do next and given ideas about what marine life to look for at each spot. We had a tasty lunch and plenty of water all day.
Pros-you are in Thailand, on a boat; very nice staff; beautiful scenery Cons-overall experience was kind of…meh. The snorkeling was just ok (if you have done snorkeling in other great places like Belize or Hawaii, this doesn’t even come close and if you are on limited time, I would say skip it); the boat was packed to the brim so much so that it was uncomfortable; snorkeling equipment wasn’t that great (they don’t provide the fins by default, you have to ask for it and then they may have your size or they may not).
The snorkeling was amazing. The water is crystal clear. Everything from pick up to drop off went smoothly
We booked a days snorkelling with Pirate Kings for 23 January. We can only review the first part of the day because my wife fell and fractured her tibia in the process of boarding the boat. It was low tide at Sala Dan pier and the ramp from the quay down into the bow of the boat was steep. Having reached the edge of the boat with one crew member offering a hand, Passengers then needed to change direction and take two large steps into the floor of the boat with no assistance and with continuing momentum. Other passengers stumbled and others refused to board. It was dangerous but the crew were more concerned about getting everyone on board as soon as possible. After her fall my wife had to be carried off the rear of the boat at a nearby beach. A Pirate King crew member drove us to a nearby clinic promising that the business would pay the cost of medical treatment, but quietly disappeared later when the seriousness of the injury became apparent. Obviously I would give this outfit 0 stars if I could. Even if we had made into the boat I wouldn’t trust them to make customer safety a priority during the rest of the day.
We loved this tour! It was well organized and we had plenty of time to snorkel at 3 different beautiful stops. We also had a 1,5 hour break where we relaxed at the beautiful beach of Koh Rok. The boat goes really fast so if you get seasick quite easily I wouldn't recommend this tour. Otherwise I would highly recommend it! We've seen lots of different Fish and corals and the crew was great.
Great day out with the girls. Ko haha was a bit too wrought and safety was well lacking. Wasn’t easy to get back to the boat but Ko Rok was out of this world. Long trips on speed boats but a great and different way to spend Christmas day.
We did this trip 2 days after the 4 Islands trip and the snorkelling on this one was far superior in terms of fish life and clear water. A rather bumpy ride out to Koh Haa where we moored next to spectacular limestone forms soaring from the seabed. Lots of coral - mostly bleached- and a huge variety of multicoloured fish. Then it was on to Koh Rok where after a brief snorkel we had lunch - visited by a large iguana - and time to explore the idyllic island. Beware the nature trail - at 1.25 km it sounds innocuous but the map does not show the hundreds of steps you need to climb- we nearly missed our boat back as a result!. After 2 hours we chugged across the channel and had another 40 minute snorkel- equally full of colourful and interesting fish and dead coral. All in all a god day out with an enthusiastic crew. A full boat (25 people ) can seem a bit crowded at times but everyone got a seat .
Amazing tour, the staff is very professional and respect nature, you could feel it, warm people and polite, told us many times about not touching corals etc.. very thorough. Delicious food and plenty to drink/eat..huge lizards on the island to see... and good snorkel material ! all the masks were Tempered, diving quality. But bring your fins if you have some, there aren't any. I tried the tour with my wife and 2 girls 8 and 10, great experience overall. Few things though could be improve... 1st to have at least a couple life jackets children size... the adult ones burnt them under arms and legs which spoil a bit the snorkling tours in salty water (3 total + extra time on the islands corals). A solution : take small shorts if you have girls, instead of bikini type, to protect against the burn from the life jackets rope. If you are sounds sensitive, take some earplugs, especially if sitting by the motors, then you can fall asleep like a baby. Also save 40 bucks by booking directly to rainbow tours... same company, super easy website🌈 👌 😀 😄 🙌 😉 🌈 . Cheers!
They are something else, 3 times snorkeling at every island to see different fishes and the food was delicious many variuos cookings plus exotic fruits and drinks all for free. It was a full day experince totally excellent!
Would highly recommend this trip, we went snorkelling to multiple different sites that had a good amount of coral that hasn’t been bleached and also had time on the beach during lunch. The staff on board were a delight, we will miss them during our journeys, we would book again!
I would definitely recommend this trip. Be aware that you do have to pay the national park fee in cash. Dean and his crew were awesome and the snorkeling spots are beautiful. The boat ride was also smoother than other speedboats we’ve been on. The spots were less crowded than phi phi, as well. I’m very glad we booked this trip!
The skippers were nice, no beach towels available on board, many jellyfish at Koh Haa (many of us got stung). Koh Rok was beautiful and the snorkeling there was too.
The snorkeling was good with a lot of coral and some nice fish. I thought the trip was well worth it. From what I could observe, all the various operators are pretty much the same, using the same transport taxis from hotel to the boats, similar boats (speedboats with triple 250 outboards carrying ~40pax), snorkeling gear, and lunch. The service from the crew was good. So, I'd make my pick based on price, and this was the cheapest I found on Viator, though you might be able to get it slightly cheaper if you book through one of the many travel agencies on Lanta.
Snorkeling was good, but not sure whether we need a tree destinations as one destination was clearly the best. Getting on and off the boat was not easy mainly you to the free engines on the back of the boat meant that the water access steps we're very narrow these steps were also too high up and therefore getting footing them was very difficult and often the steps were not fully let down by the crew. The crew were brilliant very friendly and helpful as was the guide and we felt very safe throughout there was a real range of abilities yet all were included and I think everybody had a good time. Selection for lunch could have been better as vegetarians we didn't feel enough thought was put into the catering.
It was a fun experience, but it did feel slightly chaotic and the vendors did not really prepare us for the long boat ride and had no safety briefing. Many life jackets on board were faulty, and I had to try on 4 life jackets before finding one that had working straps (though it was still too big for me). No towels were available either during my trip, resulting in my friend and I shivering on the hour-long boat ride in the rain. However, the timing and pace of the entire day was good. We really enjoyed the hours at the national park and the buffet lunch was amazing. Overall, it was a good experience but I would think twice about spending this amount of money again as it wasn't a smooth and pleasant experience throughout.
All of it was good but snorkelling in crystal clear water was amazing. The staff were more than helpful. They were boat crew, life guards, guides and vey friendly. Particularly good with children. I thoroughly recommend this trip. X
The boat ride to the first stop took about an hour and was very rough. People were getting sick and several passengers in the back were getting wet. We weren’t able to get out of the boat at all at Koh Haa because the water was too rough. Then we had another hour back to Koh Lanta. The ride was so rough that we were being thrown around and we were all soaked by water coming over the sides. Several people were sick. (I didn’t get sick but I was feeling nauseous.) I really think that due to the rough waters, this trip should not have gone out at all and certainly not to Koh Haa. I also wouldn’t recommend this trip to anyone with neck or back issues. My back was killing me after this trip. I did enjoy the snorkeling at Koh Rok and saw lots of fish. I also appreciated that there were vegan options for lunch.
3 snorkeling stops and an amazing island for the lunch. I highly recommend the experience … for us it was very nice
It was a very organised day. Funny drivers. Got to the first location to snorkel and it was absolutely beautiful, everything was provided and they made you feel at ease if you were nervous! We went to a second location and it was the same. Simply stunning. Lunch at the national park was a lovely little mixture of help yourself to the buffet and an hour to swim off the coast of the crystal clear waters
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice snorkeling.
Very good overall, we explored the seabed of 3 different islands with the equipment provided by the team. We had lunch on a small island also a very good meal and we had 2 hours for it. During our lunch a family of varans joined us so it spiced up our meal. The staff was friendly and helpful. What I liked less, there was no accompanying for people who were not comfortable in the water since in these places depth is close to 5 meters, so that the children and the less daring could not enjoy the marine show. Second point at boarding a sum is claimed for entry to the national park; this amount is not negligible 800 baths for a couple like us, but what struck me was that this sum varies according to the individuals, I saw 1200 baths and 1600. So if it is a flat rate per family it quickly becomes a kind of racket to foreign tourists because if you count 3000 bath for 2 adding 800 bath you are close to 100 euros for 2. I think it becomes very high for such a country. The last point concerns transport: speed the noise the roll , the permanent pitch with the free shower makes the youngest quickly sick as well as some fragile people, it is not noted anywhere and many of us were surprised and might not have come if we had known what he expected us. Apart from that we had a great day and very tired on the return we went for a good nap. Thank you very much.
Very nice, lovely and well organized day trip. Very helpful staff. Good food and drinks. Nice snorkeling and diving sites.
In Koh Haa we swam with so much marine life that we would have thought we were in an aquarium. The transport was done by fast and comfortable boats.
Pleasant day, enchanting place, nice trip, in short, well organized by the very helpful and kind locals, but partly ruined by too many Chinese people on the boat who were noisy, rude and dirty, before booking ask if it is possible to avoid the boats that are too crowded with Chinese people.
Very beautiful beach Ko Rak, nice boat trip there with a stop for snorkeling. No super beautiful corals when snorkeling but ok. At Ko Rak, of course, we are not alone, it becomes a bit like a school class to walk in lines & eat in groups, but it probably has to be like that as many people want to experience the place. Satisfied but won't go there again!
A little paradise, the water is truly magnificent and great snorkeling despite the presence of a few jellyfish but our guides got into the water to keep them away from us, they even escorted my daughter during the dive to reassure her.
Great snorkeling, well organized, everything went well, even the pick-up at the hotel without long waiting times, the food was also good
Super nice trip where diving with a snorkel was the most beautiful thing we have experienced in Thailand. The staff on the boat were super professional and perfect service… Worth all the money
Top support! It is still a 1 hour journey to reach the islands. The meal was incredible. On the other hand, no explanation on the islands and the dives was really very brief. Everything is carefully planned and timed, so you can get back on the bus at 3:30 p.m. I find it really early. I don’t call it a full day, which is a shame. The team is really nice and caring. Unlimited bottle of fresh water. And quality fruit for snacks. There is potential for shipping, maybe we just weren't lucky :)
lovely day with transfer from and to the hotel, easy to book! Good speedboat and great staff, water and drinks were offered periodically and there was both mask / snorkeling and flippers, and if you were "new" also life jacket. great guide and we stopped at three different great places at the islands and snorkeled. saw nemo :) lunch entered a paradise-island where there were also wild dragons!!
Everything worked fine. I have booked via the internet and have been informed by email about the time of pick-up at the hotel. The car was at the hotel at the specified time and I was taken to the speedboat. The two islands Koh Haa & Koh Rok are great, although I liked Koh Rok better. All in all, I can really recommend this trip. You can see many fish and beautiful corals!
Journée sympa mais il supporter d'être assez proches des autres en bateau. 3 lieux de snorkeling magnifiques et 1 repas.sur la plage agréable. A faire
