The limestone cliffs around Phang Nga Bay were even more impressive than I expected. James Bond Island was busy, but there was still enough time to enjoy the scenery and take photos. The boat ride itself was part of the experience.

Itinerary
The locals call it Wat Tham, (which means the temple cave). The temple, built inside a cave has historical, theological and archeological value and is a popular site amongst local people as well as tourists.
This is one of the main attractions on tours of Phang Nga Bay, often serving as a lunch stop. With the increasing number of tourists, a number of seafood restaurants are present on the island, as well as various stalls selling souvenirs. In addition, their legendary football team's old pitch serves as a major attraction.
James Bond Island is a famous landmark in Phang Nga Bay. It first found its way onto the international tourist map through its starring role in the James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun. A distinctive trait of this famous bay is the number of sheer limestone cliffs that vertically jut out of the emerald-green water. The bizarre – why-doesn’t-it-fall-over – outline of James Bond Island or Koh Tapu ('nail island' in Thai), lies next to the equally popular Koh Ping Ghan (sometimes spelled as Ping Gan or Ping Gun). The entire area surrounding this island is indeed spectacular.
Khao Phing Kan or Ko Khao Phing Kan is an island in Thailand, in Phang Nga Bay northeast of Phuket. About 40 metres from the shores of Khao Phing Kan lies a 20-metre tall islet called Ko Ta Pu or Ko Tapu. The islands are limestone karst towers and are a part of Ao Phang Nga National Park.
Sightseeing Khao Khien and Khao Maju
Lod Cave, canoeing on the shimmering waters through limestone caves and mangrove forests.

Well organized, enough time to see everything. Just the weather was so, so. Recommended in the sunny day.
A must visit island, you will never regret. I did not go from Krabi, but I went from my next location Phuket.Whenever you plan it either from Krabi or Phuket, plan it with speed boat. It should include National park fees and canoeing. It is cheaper from Krabi because of distance. Limestone caves, canoeing through rocks and photography at James Bond island is awesome. Lunch they provide is excellent. It is a full day trip. Bargain for best price before booking. You should book it after you reach Thailand.
We got picked up on time but the picking up of the whole group after us lasted at least 2 hours. Once arrived to the cave temple the guide only told us where the entrance was and where to see the monkeys, not a single word about the temple. We had very little time to visit it. The James Bond island and Talu caves parts where fine but very touristy and the water wasn't that good to take a swim. The last stop of the tour was the village Ko Panyee where the main attraction was the lunch, not a word was said from the guide about the village. We were dropped like a package for each stop, the guide was friendly but it's clear that the goal of these tours is to give people the impression that they're traveling
The views are amazing, but you will learn nothing about the history of the visited attractions or nature.
The places we visited were truly gorgeous. However, in terms of leader this was their worst trip I’ve had in Thailand. We visited the temple on our own without having any information about it. In every other trip the guide would talk to us explaining when it was built, how, etc. They also often added some typical things about the area we were in (about language, food, school, people,…). We never knew what we were supposed to do and hardly ever got the chance to ask questions. Also, during the canoe trip we were basically forced to give the driver a tip, and also set a minimum amount. It should be up to us to decide if and how much to give, especially since this had already been paid.
Beautiful place, horrible tour!! Do this trip through another company. The sights are worth seeing but we had the worst tour guide ever. So mean. Never smiled. Barked at us through a megaphone even though we were all two feet away. The tour was rushed, every worker was annoyed and seemed to hate tourists. Find another tour to see this beautiful beautiful place!!!
My sister and I had an awesome time visiting James Bond Island as well as the other stops including the water village. The highlight of our trip was the guided canoe ride to the huge rock formations and to the caves, it was awesome!! We even saw a walking fish. The lunch at the water village was tasty and we even had time to explore the village which was fascinating. I would definitely recommend this trip.
Unlike other tours, there were literally four vans worth of people with just one guide. It wasn’t as organized as other tours. We first arrived at the temple amid a bit of chaos. It was raining but we were joined by the second van load of people and were trying to figure out what was going on. After we spent a little time in the temple, we headed over to the boat dock. There we were thrown together with two more vans worth of people. We didn’t really understand what was going on but followed to the dock. There was a large long boat for our now group of 40 or so. The sights were nice, but it was a bit stressful and the disorganization compared to other tours we’ve been in made the beginning not so great. (I felt ready to just leave.) It ended up ok and the lunch setting at the floating village was nice. I think our guide tried, but seriously, with 40 people, it wasn’t fair to put it all on Cindy. I don’t know if other tours groups do it better, but of all our tours (and we did at least seven during our time), this was our least favorite.
The tour was perfectly planned. Car perfect on time, very good directions from tour guide Cindy, very good time schedule and activities. The lunch was very good, the canoo-trip a definitive highlight. I would advise everybody who is interested in not-touristic-tours to book here. The communication with oh hoo was not easy, because I couldn´t reach his office on the phone until 5 Minutes before the car came, but I trusted and it worked out. He sent mails, so I knew I´m on the list.
Despite a two hour van ride to get to the pier the trip was great. James Bond island was beautiful with fun souvenir shops and ice cream. A good lunch with nice views then an amazing canoe ride. The two person canoes with a guide paddled around Talu island through caves and with “walking” fish.
Really loved seeing the James Bond island and the beautiful views but felt the time was minimal for payee island. The kayak was the best part and made the whole trip.
I was a guest of the grand centara resort in Krabi, when you book online they state that they can pick you up at your hotel. 1 day before they call me to say that the pick up at my hotel is not included. So I had to contract a private boat to drop my at the Nopparat Thara pier for 1,500 baths and did the same thing on my way back. In total I waste an additional 3,000 bahts. Since the beginning I also paid an extra to make the canoeing activity in this tour, and they told me many times that this one it was not included as well, at the end I managed to convince the staff but it was a very painful process fighting with the staff all the time. And last but not least, in the online form they don’t include the speed boat option, only long tail boat which is less comfortable, I choosed this because I apparently had non option, but when I was there I realized that I could contract the speed boat, I wanted to change to that kind of boat and they did not allow me to change even if I was willing to pay the difference. They even told me, “Mr. you need to check what you buy, it seems you never pay attention of what you hired”. Everything besides this fight the tour was good, just try to avoid doing it with OH-HOO travel.
Fantastic tour guides throughout. Great service and very friendly team. Highly recommend to anybody.
Everyone was friendly even the tour guide. Canoe time is a bit too short, and it wasn’t as shown in the photos, we didn’t really go into the mangroves but just opposite of it. Duration is only less than 15 minutes.
The tour is good. Tour guide speaks English fluently. So I understood about what she said. Thank you.
Had a good trip, the James Bond Island was so good. A good and nice tour. sadly the Falls was too small and probably manmade.
Guide was good well explained. Buffet was not good and not many items. we thourly enjoyed the trip. total 4 hours cab journey 4 hour speed boat trip. Overall good.
I read through the details and reviews for this trip as it was not cheap. Firstly it stated no more than 14 and there was 28 on the trip jammed into the boat, the “tour guide” mickey was really only a co-ordinater and told us nothing about where we were going or any history unlike the other trips going on around us and just seemed to be obsessed with timings! All said and done the islands etc were stunning so would be hard pushed to ruin it! The canoe ride was fantastic and our local guy who rowed our canoe was brilliant very friendly and took pics for us and explained some history in his broken english The major downside was the lunch Which was included we arrived to the outdoor restaurant to find the food already laid out and had been for some time and was stone cold and having been travelling for four weeks this was the worst meal I have had to date! All in all the sights were good but I wouldnt book this trip through this company as there are many others that can do a better job
Very friendly crew. Concerned about our well being and safety. The Guide was awesome. Recommend to anyone who wanted to see several islands in one day.
Small space, lots of people. James Bond Island is a tourist attraction. Floating village and the people that live there makes me excited. I recommend when you come to Krabi.
Beautiful landscapes but a tourist factory. James Bond Island nice but so many tourists it ruins everything. If there is a time when the village floats longer than this, it will be very good.
The air-conditioned van is flawless, even with short-term reservations. We were taken to the Monkey Temple. There are other groups added here. Depart for the harbor to go to James Bond Island. The group size on the boat is pleasant with 14 people. The tour is a classic tour. The tourist guide takes us out of the various stations. Have time to see everything and continue. Of course, the James Bond island is full of diverse groups, so be careful. Lunch is a good and tasty menu.
Super guide and outing Was a very nice day
We had a great day with a lovely and nice guide who has a lot to say and knows a lot. Definitely do it all Is it Worth the Money
We wanted to see phang nga bay in a day to optimize our time in a small boat. Unfortunately this day was not at all the one promised, our only happiness was to tell us that we had paid much less than the other passengers with us. Because you will not be 15 but 30 or 40 on the same boat "long tail boat" which is more a speedboat. This excursion is the same as offered in all information tours but much cheaper on the internet. We were leaving from Krabi and we took 2h30 round trip and 2h30 return between Krabi and the boat is a lot of transport by car for little time visits. We then went to visit the temple and got on the boats towards the canoe. You have paid for the canoe but you are obliged to leave a tip because your guide apparently has no salary, then it is his birthday and then he has children who only eat every other day so you have to leave a very big tip, he will ask you for tip during the whole canoe crossing (impossible to do canoeing alone, it is he who paddle for you and no choice). Then (1:00 pm) you go to visit James Bond Island, which is a small island no prettier than the others but which is expensive and full of people, you can barely walk on the island and you will stay there for some 50 minutes sneaking between Instagram and Tik tok. Then 2pm you may finally be able to eat on the fishermen's island, which in fact is a canteen where you will eat cold because it is 2:30pm and you have 35mn to eat and go around the island (which is a travelling market of the same gadgets as everywhere in Thailand). Then you take the boat back to your minibuses, and again you are strongly encouraged to leave plenty of tips for this unpleasant day.
I think we don’t have enough time to eat and visit the floating village Exceptional kayak tour of the mangrove
Tripadvisor should change provider for the following reasons: - My reservation specified that the group would be a maximum of 15, but there were around 50 of us! - The starting point of the excursion is poorly specified and the travel time by van is in fact too long from Ao Nang (1h45 one way) - The guide is odious: * he doesn't wait until all the vans have arrived to give the very rudimentary information * On the different sites (cave, fishing village, James Bond Island), he "drops off" people without giving any explanation. * The canoe activity time is not respected (25 minutes instead of 1 hour) and is not very interesting: going around a rock. Conclusion : Value for money, it's way too expensive and Tripadvisor should change provider 1st experience with TripAdvisor very disappointing whereas with Guet your guide, never any problems!
Horrible experience!! My spouse and I are very disappointed with the course! The times indicated on the activity description are not the same on site! We did 30 minutes of Monkey Cave, a 25min canoe tour, 45min on James Bond Island and 1h to eat on Panyee Island. First, the guide does not explain the places you visit. It only serves to time each activity. Everything is rushed and stressful. For example, the guide yelled at the boatmaster to leave James Bond Island, even if 3 people were missing. Friends of the latter managed to hold the boat. We were all shocked that the guide could abandon members of his group. Secondly, we thought we could canoe independently. Instead, an employee was rowing behind us, telling us he wanted tips on a loop. It was very unpleasant and uncomfortable, even if it was obvious that we were going to give him a tip. The trip by minibus, round trip is 4:00. Finally, the highlight of this tour is that the minibus drops you off in front of your hotel.
The guide with very bad forms always, the excursion was beautiful because the island of James Bond itself is beautiful but they have it fatal organized. Very close to runs, just give time to enjoy the surroundings, bad forms of the guide. I wouldn't recommend it.
Nice pleasant excursion with many sights. Very good food. Nice to experience authentic Thai food
So what to start with... Already the description of the activity is wrong, 2 hours journey from AoNang to the monkey cellar. This temple is tiny and not worth a visit at all. Then departure to koh panyee by boat, then lunch (which is really not good). Departure for the james bond island and this is where the worst is to come. The island is not like in some pictures .. it is impossible to swim there and it is almost difficult to circulate given the world. In short 50€ for absolutely nothing is very very expensive paid. TO FLEE
Good afternoon, I wanted to refer to several situations that we had in today's excursion, firstly we were picked up by the hotel 30 minutes later than agreed, the van that came to remove us was in deplorable conditions with the air conditioning that was not running (enkrabi 32° temperature) and then, did not have all the seats with seatbelts or curtains for sun protection, at no time we were advised that we had a 2 hs ride in combi until the start of the excursion, in our combi only the driver was found that said by the way drove as if it were an animal, very recklessly, there was no refreshment or even stopped in those two hours to go to the bathroom, when we arrived at the port of departure no one indicated us where we had to go, until another combi arrived with a person claiming to be the guide and there informed us where we were headed, there we headed to James Bond Island, which is a beautiful experience, but in the fast boat there was no refreshment, water, not even someone in charge of being able to assist us to get on and off the marking, At lunchtime we were taken to a place where it is an elephant reservoir in which there was a restaurant that were not turned on the air conditioners and there were only two fans in which they did not sit together at a table and gave us to drink a 3503 cm mineral water, Since the objective of them was to sell us soda waters and they were located on a fridge that was next to our table, my lady was aware of the possibility of doing a walk with an elephant in Bath, so we were not taking pictures of our own elephant walk up and down the same way that we were taking a lush walk upstairs without taking pictures of the elephant, and we were only taking pictures of the same walk upstairs, because we were not taking a lush walk upstairs in Bath, and we were not taking pictures of the same state of Bath, because we were only taking pictures of the elephant walk upstairs, and we were not taking pictures of our own walks. On the way back to the hotel again our driver drove absolutely recklessly and did not stop even five minutes to buy a snack or go to the bathroom, I hope please you can change operators or you can give me some solution as we lost a day of our vacation on an excursion that was quite onerous and was an absolutely frustrating experience. I hope for a prompt response. Greetings
that trip to Phang Nga bay is truly amazing. our guide is warm and friendly and fun. Very helpful. it's been a beautiful day from start to finish and I highly recommend this trip. A beautiful day.
