Great trip, Mr Green was a fantastic tour guide. Loved the islands and the food. Only slightly underwhelming thing was the plankton as they don’t really light up the sea as your picture shows but all in all a great day

This was a really worthwhile cruise - we got to snorkel in 2 different locations, with plenty of time to explore Hong island. The crew were friendly, and while the boat was full, it didn’t feel crowded.
Booked this from the UK they arranged a hotel pick up which consisted of a guide turning up at our hotel and walking us around the corner to a table by the roadside.. Then told to wait there till 12.40, which annoyed me because our hotel room was nice and cool and had no traffic fumes and just 2 minutes away which I found odd. 1pm arrived and still no sign of any transport so we decided not to go as was clearly very unorganised and we didn't fancy hours more of the chaos.. So the actual trip we didn't go on even though we will get no refund so can't comment on that, but first impressions are important.
The trip should have been cancelled. I understand the operator can't change the weather but they knew the tides and currents on their phone as we were shown. And they knew they would render most sites inaccessible. They could have rebooked us for another day. For the record the staff were great, super friendly and accommodating. We stopped at Red Island for snorkeling. They did not let us snorkle because the current was too strong. However there was another catamaran and their clients snorkeling on the spot - which made it awkward. Why do they get to snorkle but we don't? Captain and guide then changed their mind and almost let us go but made the call and we moved on instead. I get the safety, of course, but if it's good enough for other snorkelers. We also heard other groups had a chance to. Next we hit Hong island. It is beautiful and worthwhile. There is a lookout, which he did and enjoyed. Takes 15 mins up and 15 down. And a short tsunami loop that they present as a nature trail through the jungle. Also pleasant and brief. There were meant to be monitor lizards around but nothing we could see. The beach was closed because low tide exposes the corals. So no swimming or snorkeling. This makes sense. I asked to swim in a different area but there's a reason there's designed swimming area, the other spot was riddled with urchins with long spikes. I tried to snorkle a little but it was too sketchy to we stopped. This was not on the operator, they were just trying to be accommodating and I appreciated that. We got on the boat and we're brought to the lagoon - again low tide did not allow access to the lagoon. So we stopped a little off from the entrance and we're told whether we wanted a photo. Can't see much without actually going in which with low tide was impossible. We were shown on their app that they knew this, just decided to run the tour regardless. Next we went to Koh Lao Lading. Even more stunning. And had a genuinely big and tasty lunch with chicken, rice, fruit, etc. Same rules. No snorkeling no swimming because of low tide. Last we went back to our departure point for plankton. That lasted about 10-15 mins in the water and they were few and sparse, though in fairness still visible, but not the 'blue waves" that you might have seen online. It may have to do more with plankton blooms and timing. All that to say, great staff, but the operator knew low tide would close all snorkeling, swimming at beaches and the lagoon from access. I got more wet from the ocean spray and rain than anything else. The sites were stunning and totally worth it. Do yourself a favour and check the tides yourself before booking. But otherwise a great your, if done right.
Despite the language barrier, the guides were very kind & professional. It was well organised & enjoyable. We could not see the sunset due to cloudy weather. Pick up & drop off service was also great.
It was just the best experience. The timely pickup from hotel, to showing the most beautiful sunset and our guide he was the best. But the most amazing part of the day was the bioluminescence in the night. Once in a lifetime experience. I will definitely suggest choosing Krabi sunset team. ❤️❤️
The Tour was amazing! Especially because of our Tourguide A.J. (i hope I got it right). He did it so authentically and passionate, took pictures of us and hyped us up. We saw the Lagoon of the Hong Islands and were at the besch for 1 1/2 hour. We wishef that we could have stayed a bit longer there, then we went to another beach for Barbecue - all if the beaches there are a dream. Fort the sunset we stopped in the middle of the sea and watched it, it was magical. Then the highlight was swimming in the Bioluminescent Plankton!! All in all great Tour with great People and great Guides 🥰
This trip was amazing! Very well organised, the Hong islands were absolutely beautiful and so worth a visit on anyone’s trip to Thailand. Make sure you go up to the viewpoint to see the great view. The BBQ on the beach was SO good too, the food tasted great (BBQ Chicken skewers) and watching the sunset go down on the tiny island was great. Would recommend this trip to anyone!
This trip was relaxing, long stop on Hong Island gives you the time to arrive on the top to enjoy the view and then spend time on the marvellous beach. The stop on the next Island for the bbq with the sunset was stunning! Also swimming with plancton is something to not miss!
The guides really go out of their way to make your trip as memorable as possible, the High light of the trip was every stop we made as they all had there own special features
friendly, polite, pleasant and professional experience. kids were taken care of. do go during high tide so you can access the hong lagoon and snorkel.
The trip went fine for most people, but i had an anaphylactic choc after the evening BBQ. Never happened before. Was hospitalized two days, the doctors said it was something in the spices. I don't blame the tour for that, but i nearly died on the way to return. They rushed me to hospital quickly and it was very appreciated.
This was a great tour. We got picked up from the dock to drive to the departure point. We waited a while for other people to arrive and then boarded the longboat. Tip - bring earplugs because the motor is very loud. Save your hearing! We arrived to Hong Island which is one of the highlights of our trip. What an incredible place! The view at the top of the lookout is spectacular. I am very glad I climbed the hundreds of stairs to get there. The water was not deep enough to pass through the opening in the other side of the island, so we just took pictures from the boat. We traveled a bit longer to a smaller island and watched the sunset. 🌅 It was so peaceful and awesome. The food was pretty good, too. We traveled about an hour to get back in the dark. But we took that time to reflect on the experience, which is nice. Before pulling in to the beach, we stopped to see the photoluminescent plankton. I had never seen anything like that. It was very cool.
The tour was run very well, with a busy itinerary for only a few hours. The viewpoint at Hong Island was incredible, and the snorkeling afterward was very rewarding. The buffet dinner was excellent, and provided great views of the sunset. The bioluminescent snorkeling at the end of the tour was very unique and memorable. My only suggestion would be to have more time on Hong Island before moving to the dinner spot, since it is a great island with lots to do and see.
Great guy in charge of the boat. Amazing food on the beach which had really good vegan and vegetarian options. Got to visit some beaches that hadn’t been totally smashed to pieces by boats yet. Saw some good fish whilst snorkelling. Brilliant day out
I really wanted to love this tour, but I was very disappointed and very concerned about our safety. I am going to give my honest review. Pros: as you can see from my images, Hong Island and the other island we visited to view the sunset are simply breathtaking. This is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. I also liked that they gave us 2 hours to explore Hong Island and the 360 view point However, do yourself a favor and do your research. Cons: Very old and worn boat, they had a gas tank next to the motor and kept smoking near it continuously. Tour says water, fruit and sodas were included but not once did they offer us anything. One other tourist asked for water and the guide (if you can call him that) said “oh yes, I’m sorry I forgot you can have water”, then we had water. They kept drinking the water and sodas and didn’t offer us any. Lunch was decent but the chicken was not cooked well. The guide barely spoke to us and didn’t communicate to everyone. Those closest motor couldn’t hear a thing. Plankton stop was 10 min if that. The ride took 45 or so minutes to go and over an hour to return. I would recommend the speedboat option. We had done an amazing tour to Maya bay just 2 days prior which I rated 5 stars.
Really looked forward to this trip as the reviews here were positive. But tbh we really had an uncomfortable trip since the boat was stuffed with way to many ppl. The trip to Hong was quite long and when it’s so crowded a longtail boat can get really unpleasant. Couldn’t move or see anything. So would be fair if they spread the people on more boats for the amount of money people pay. We also had to wait quite long every time (the car pickup, getting on the boat etc) because they had to manage all the people. The ‘3 hour stop’ at Hong in the info is misleading because we only were there for an hour. Spending 300 bath p.p. For such a short time is a pity. Hong was a beautiful stop of course. Also the bbq was really good food and the staff was friendly. But we look back at dull and unpleasant transport. IMPORTANT SIDENOTE: I saw the staff throwing there cigarettes on the beach. And when you say ‘no smoking’ on the boat than be an example also. I’m not even a smoker myself but this really disappointed me. Last but not least: My advice would be to book a longtail boat for yourself, it’s almost the same price and more spacious. I hope ppl read this review and don’t spoil their trip to this beautiful island with this company.
Although im understanding their 24 hours cancellation policy i'got sick by the day of the tour with the usual asia virus. Woke up with high fever and diarrhea which made me impossible to attend on the tour. I contacted them early morning and explained the situation by asking for any possible workaround to shift the tour by 1 or 2 days. They showed zero flexibility by telling me i should have called a day before when i obviously was not sick yet. Only recommendation was to buy another ticket. Was very dissapointed as we were looking forward this tour with my wife and was not asking for a cancellation just for a bit of understanding on the situation and give me 1-2 days to feel better.
The tour was excellent. The tourists are leaving the Hong island when we arrived. The sunset was spectacular. The staff and the food they cooked was very good. The only thing was the price on Viator, you can get the same trip half the price if you buy it from the local tourist agencies.
Our guide DJ was great, really bubbly and informative. Hong island is beautiful and the view point is lovely, it makes you earn you BBQ dinner, the steps are pretty steep and there’s a fair few of them! The beach you stop at for the BBQ is pretty and the view of the sunset is great although we had clods when we went but it was still gorgeous. The night swim with the bioluminescent plankton was very cool and the water was still surprisingly warm. It was a great way to spend an afternoon
Amazing experience from start to finish, the locations, feel, food and views were all spectacular, We spent a few hours at the beautiful hong island following a sunset bbq at one of the smaller islands, then finally, taking a swim with the plankton! Thank you to pong and his team for the amazing experience and memory!
Organised well, we’ve got enough time to enjoy the experience. People were very friendly! Plankton and night snorkelling was a highlight. We are very happy
I highly recommend this tour, you not only get to visit some of the most amazing islands of Krabi, but you experience the sea life, great Thai food, superb views and learn about the life around from the Guide. The longtail boat was great, spacious and water and equipment were provided. The night swim to see the luminous plankton was surreal and honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had, at the safety of the crew who were with us all the time. We saw sea snake, and some other gorgeous creatures! Highly recommend this tour! Try it! Great service and crew. The price is extremely reasonable too.
He made the whole trip memorable :) Very fine guide and lots of laughter on the boat, escaping people, beautiful sunset, highly recommended.
The hong island trip was great! We visited the lagoon and a few diferent beaches. Had a fantastic barbeqe while we relaxed and watched the sunset.Service from start to finish was very friendly, easy 5 stars!!
We went on this tour after having experienced quite alot in Ao Nang / Krabi already. This turned out to be on our top3 list. The guide was great, the trip out was charming in an authentic long tail boat, and the locations were magic. My only complaint here was that their safety rules forced us to swim with life jackets on. Should not be necessary when being a capable adult swimmer... The sunset with a BBQ was the highlight for us, sitting on the beach with grilled seafood and watching a perfect sunset in the horizon. Does not get much better than that. Also, I will thank the tour guides for swift actions when needed. At the very end of the tour, I accidentaly stepped on a quite big stingray and got stung. They immideately transferred me to a nearby speedboat, rushed me to shore, and drove me to a clinic as a precaution in case of emergency. They stayed with me the whole way during treatment of the wound, covered all costs and drove me home. Really good to know that they are capable of handling these situations Will recommend them to anyone!
The guide was very friendly. BBQ Dinner was ok and the fruits were good. They served enough water bottles for this trip. boat was in good condition too. It is totally worth it! Cheaper and better than others!
As this is a relatively small group, they tried their best to attend the needs required by different client. BBQ was wonderful as well. Thank you.
Everything went perfect. We had a new boat with friendly staff. Even though they havent spoken english very well, we havent had any troubles and could just relax and enjoy. Apart from visiting stunning places around Hong island and lagoon we had fun jumping in the open sea from the boat, less crowded spot for snorkelling than the others and all the good quality equipment we needed. Finally, the peak of the day was outstanding sunset and delicious fresh BBQ on the small empty beach. Wow! That was something that made our trip.
All amazing. Beaches, snorkeling, photos, food... All very professional. The guides Bay and Santana very attentive with everything
It was a very special excursion. If you are looking to get out of the super tourist spots and into one of the islands in the area, it is your place. We enjoyed a barbecue and a sunset being only on the island those who traveled with the tour (they are not groups of more than 25 people). The Guide was great and is always on the lookout for nothing missing.
The tour guide team was very good, highly competent and very friendly. The trip via longtail boat was very nice. The sunset with BBQ was a wonderful experience. The experience with bioluminescent plankton was unique.
