I absolutely loved this trip. This was the number one thing I wanted to do while in Krabi and it did not disappoint. It lived up to my expectations and I will not forget it. I did this with my son and it was a great experience to do together. I would not recommend it though if you have never been in a kayak before. There were some tricky bits to negotiate which everyone was able to negotiate just fine except for the couple who had no experience. We ended up having to tow them for half of the trip. This did not detract from our adventure, but it could be a frustration for others.

Thalane Bay or Ao Thalane is one of the most popular location for kayaking. It is beautiful and splendid area with abundant mangrove forests , limestone mountains , caves, lagoons and canyons. You will enjoy kayaking and paddle easily in the tortuous route, calm river without windy and wave, sometimes you can see sandbar when the level of tidal is low. You can also get learning about ecosystem in abundant mangrove forests. If you paddle into that area and pass through the towering limestone mountain and quite canyon that is the most beautiful view point of Thalane Bay. All the route is surrounded by intricate limestone mountains, it seems to be provided rooms by the sea that's called " Lagoon ", the shelter or hidden place for fishermen when was the monsoon season because the limestone mountain ranges protected the storm and the wave from outside.

The nature was impressive, the kayaks were really good and impossible to sink, there were even solo kayaks if you wanted. Really calm sea, almost everything in the shade, really good tour.
Great trip, slightly chaotic as there are so many different operators at kayaking centre but this is no reflection of the trip Can get busy in the kayaking area The kayaking is about 1 hour from Ao Nang
It was a really beautiful view but way to many people in one group. I think we were 30 It was really rushed and there was no time to enjoy the view. The guide didn’t really interact and everything was in a hurry. Because of bad planning from their side we couldn’t go very deep in the mangrove and had to go the same way back. I would not recommend this. Find another operator to book kayaking.
Pick up from the hotel went really smoothly, and the drive there was fine - on arrival it was very chaotic with hundreds of people everywhere. We were handed our water and a dry bag, and after a 20 minute wait were called to get lifejackets and paddles. Allocation to the kayaks was also chaotic but once we were on the water it all went well and was a great experience. The only other issue was the very large group size - we must have been at least 20 double kayaks, so about 40 in the group altogether.
Booked this adventure online before we flew out,and what a lovely time...got picked up on time with a lovely man who was our Guide for the experience...took us all over the place with his local knowledge and experience...my wife was a bit worried about the trip but we felt completely safe , after the day had finished he dropped us off at our hotel .. can't go wrong with this fella would recommend 100%
A great and fun experience exploring the beautful river, a bit of a work out but worth it. If we return to Krabi we will definetly be doing this agaim.
Great fun , great experience thank you for looking after us saw some amazing views too , great trip.
I enjoyed the kayaking a lot, the national park is just breathtaking with the cliffs and the mangroves, and I recommend the tour. The only drawback was time management, the pickup was a bit late and we also left the park late, so expect not to arrive home by 13 pm.
Absolutely stunning views 🤩 would definitely recommend to visit 👌the circle length is 6.5km but not difficult no previous experience is need and most of the time you're kaying in the jungle shadow so no sun burns 😎
Great day out. The scenery is spectacular. The trip is fantastic. The ocean part gives you a chance to see flying fish, monkeys were spotted amongst the mangroves
We enjoyed the spectacular views as we were kayaking through gorges at AO Thalane. It was peaceful and tranquil and a complete change from the crowds at Ao Nang beach. Our guide was very good informing people where best to kayak and pointing out wildlife.
This was easily one of the best activities of our trip! The scenery is so beautiful, the guides are friendly and informative. This would definitely be suitable for those with low fitness as it’s a nice easy pace. Definitely recommend.
The guide wasn't very interactive with the group; only interested in getting through mangroves with the given 2 hours. We were initially just left behind and forced to catch up. I would recommend finding another operator.
Incredible experience lead by knowledgeable and helpful staff!! We went when it was pouring with rain and it was still spectacular!! I would 100% recommend this to anyone holidaying in the Krabi area. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, so don’t be put off by the rain.
An incredible experience with the most scenic views and lead by knowledgeable and polite tour guides. We went when it was pouring rain and it didn’t take away from the experience at all. The company provided us with a dry bag which meant everything was dry despite the pouring rain, so don’t let wet weather put you off. I would recommend this trip to everyone!!!
Very impressive with the natural around. I had to hire a guide because it was 7 km kayaking, Pe’ Dam is very professional I can feel safe with him. I paid 1000 baht cuz I’m solo and not worth for them to pay for one pax I can understand. I also got a plate of fresh watermelon and bottle of water after finishing kayaking and also pics and videos from your guide
The view was amazing and the guide were hospitable. The kayaks and equipment were in good shape. Because of low tide, we were only able to do half the mangrove area. The guide did not explain things about the area, the history, the basic area development and so forth. We will now consult the oracle and get a more in depth of what is what and why and how. Overall, the whole kayak experience was 2 hours. We recommend planning a high tide time in order to get the full experience.
Incredible trip seeing nature as if from another planet. The guide was incredible!!! 100% one of the best trips I've done in Thailand so far.
So much fun and incredibly beautiful. Sea kayaking however requires some fitness, so hope you have a good back and some endurance.
Had a wonderful time, but sea kayaking is demanding, not for the weak. Apparently I need a 100 carachters to post...
You get tea or coffee while you get suited with life jackets and paddles. All kayaks are two seaters. Since I was solo, I got paired with a teenager (their parents paired up) who wasn't familiar with kayaking and we also had a language barrier, which made steering and paddling much more challenging. If you don't have a travel buddy, know that solo kayaks are not an option. The guide did share any information about the area we were exploring, so it was more of a site seeing trip than anything else. It was a beautiful and peaceful area, wish we were able to stay on the water for longer!
The place was beatiful, the tour very well organized, the operators where friendly and full of knowledge The price was reasonable (its still a bif of a long drive to get there) and, all in all, one of the best experiences in the Krabi area.
An amazing afternoon, i enjoyed the kayaking. The trip was well organized, not to many people around. Due to the tide we could not go around and had to return the same way we came in, but nonetheless it was an true adventure in a beautiful surounding.
I was missing a little more information from the guide about general background/stuff about for example how did this landscape form, what is a Mangrove forest, which animals/plants can we spot today. I'm just comparing with similar tours I have already done in other countries. Also transfer on the benches at the back of the pick up made me feel a little unsafe since it is a minimum half hour ride, but I know that this is absolutely standard in Thailand and that this is my European brain making my uneasy there.
Fantastic family run business. Lunch provided. Water. Kayak. Vest. Great guide who showed us ancient cave drawings. Beautiful scenery. If solo or unable to paddle a person canberra hired for extra cost.
Knowledgeable guide, Fantastic experience, all equipment provided including dry bags. Enjoyed this thoroughly and would so again.
What a fantastic day, learnt heaps about local Thai's & their beliefs, saw animals in nature untouched by humans & our guide was absolutely amazing.
Absolutely brilliant, the pick up spot on, the kayaking unbelievable & our tour leader was phenomenal, he knew so much about the area & spoke enough English that we could understand every word, highly recommend this tour.
I would give kayaking a 5 star review. Definitely do it! It’s so amazing. Not sure about True Leisure.. We started with a misunderstanding when they said they’d pick me up at “the beach at Klong muang”. So I went to the beach and waited at the entrance. The Beach at Klong Muang is a hotel. Who the heck would know that if they weren’t staying there? They never called me when I wasn’t at the pickup. Instead they contacted the woman who manages my my apartment who had nothing to do with booking this trip and had no idea where I was. I was three minutes away from where they were waiting for me and one call to me would have set it right. By the time I contacted them they had left and were very curt about it. Some of this I chalked up to language differences. The part that was annoying was that after I paid the inflated TripAdvisor prices and missed the pickup they didn’t care one way or the other. They had no intention of refunding any money or taking any responsibility or trying to fix it. The woman who ran my apartment was really annoyed because of how much I’d paid and pushed them to take me that afternoon. The issue is that you don’t do this trip at low tide. It’s not nearly as good. I’d venture t9 say it’s not worth it at all. The current was up and once we fought across the windy bay we couldn’t really get that far into the part you actually want to see in the canyons. We only went a very short way in. So go in the morning or whenever high tide is. Call around directly to,the operators and get the best price. I should have booked via my apartment. And on top of paying a premium v8a Trip advisor, TL hit me for another 200 baht for transport from Klong Muang by a driver who was so annoyed to have to pick me up at that point he didn’t even say hello to me when I got in the van. So the whole thing was just awkward and uncomfortable and a chore at that point. True Leisure did not differentiate themselves when they had the chance but they’re probably OK if everything goes smoothly and they have the best price.
A wonderful experience. Would highly recommend it! The mangroves and the limestone karst were really beautiful and our guide was great.
The kayak trip was probably fine. I booked two tours through Viator, kayaking on Friday afternoon and Phi Phi Islands tour on Saturday. It turns out that Viator double-booked the tours onto the same day. No refund. Book tours through the individual operators and avoid Viator!
Was an amazing experience in Krabi. We paddled for about 2 hours, which was enough personally as it was a bit demanding physically than I thought. Before we hopped on a kayak, the guide explained well enough how to paddle, the route that we’re going to browse, and basic safety features. The route was a bit tricky for a less experienced one like me but was so much fun. Pickup and dropoff so as some coffee and snacks are all included in your trip and there was no hidden fee. I highly recommend if you’re looking for some fun activities in Krabi.
This was an excellent trip. We had an experienced group and had no problems on this trip. The scenery was stunning. Equipment provided was excellent and the guide did a great job.
It’s was beautiful experience of Kayaking specially for a first timer. The guide was very supportive and friendly. We had a great time going around the mangroves and the bay.
We selected the option kayaking in the second half of the day. The pick up was prompt 1.40 pm from Ao Nang. We were taken to Ao Thalane by 2.30 pm. After initial guidance for 15 minutes, we started kayaking which went on for 3 hours. The caves, mangroves, canons and lagoon, it is all really beautiful. We were little concerned as we are not good swimmers, however this can even be done by non-swimmers. One can take an expert along by paying additional 300 Baht. However, it can be physically little demanding, especially for the lower back. Hence, people with back problems should not opt for this activity. We finished the activity by 5.15 pm. Overall, highly recommended.
I booked this trip at the last minute - just two days in advance. I was aware that it was a half day trip, but when I realized the actual timing and the limitations of ferry timings to and from our hotel (which is the only way we could get to the hotel unfortunately!) I realized that we would miss our flight if we did the Kayaking trip. So I reached out to the tour operator directly and asked if they could refund our money even though it was less that 24 hours before. They were VERY helpful and said that they would do it, and they would inform Trip Advisor to honor that refund. I’m delighted to say that the refund came within a day. This exemplary customer responsiveness leads me to believe that their are an excellent tour company. I’m very disappointed that we could not make it this time - but it’s #1 on my list for our next Krabi trip.
Prompt pick up from hotel and very good communication via WhatsApp beforehand made the whole excursion smooth. As for the trip itself, the guide spoke good English, gave us good safety instructions and was knowledgeable. As a family of 13 we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would return again. Thank you.
Our guide was very friendly & informative. He spoke very good english. Pick up at hotel was on time. Kayaks were great and it was something to do with little excursion. We were all disappointed as we only saw 1 bird, a few crabs and 2 monkeys from afar. Thought we’d see much more wildlife. It was uneventful. I’d recommend going at high tide if possible and perhaps at sunset as at least something to see Angie from 🇨🇦
We did Kayaking for the first time. There are 2 options, 1 you rent a Kayak and go by yourself (if you have previous experience) @700 baht. Other option is to go by Group which is little cheaper @300 baht per person. If you do not know Or need someone to Sail for you they can give you a driver at 300 Baht. It is usually 2 hours of kayaking. Where they halt 2-3 time on small land for rest and photo.
Nice day out. Very good guide. Wonderful landscape. Amazing place. In short, go there with your eyes closed.
The trip is really great for kayaking beginners. Also we recommend going at high tide so you can actually go in a circle. We loved the view of the canyon from the inside and it was a true jungle experience. The team offers waterproof bags which is really nice. If you are advanced at kayaking or have kayaked to Railay already don’t book this tour because some people we met were disappointed. We loved it because it was a good mixture of nature and activity for a good price.
The ride lasts about two hours in a kayak, quite physical but there is the possibility of having a tutor with you in a kayak and wonderful landscape.
Van transfer, very helpful guide, immersed in nature: mangroves, monkeys and crabs. Beautiful
Very nice experience. The mangrove forest is beautiful. Six-mile trip. However, you don't have to be particularly sporty to do this.
Schade. Danke trotzdem 🙏🏻
There will be 2 pairs on site (there will be more than 2 participants on another site, but this site can be attended by 1 person, and as a result there will be no problem). Older people are also welcome, as there is a service to add rowers for a fee for those who have difficulty paddling. With the tides, the mangrove forests are passing through in some places, which was thrilling. It was hard to keep paddling for more than an hour because it was the last time I was going to rest. It would be nice to have a little more time to stop in the middle or take a photo, but due to the tide, the guide will rush you. So it's better to control your pace and take some time to take photos and drink water.
Die Fahrt war ausnahmslos perfekt. Wunderschöne Landschaft und gut organisierte Tour. Wir haben ein Krokodil und viele Affen gesehen
We enjoyed the kayaking activity in Ao Talane. Nature, mangrove forests, limestone reliefs etc. The kayak trip compared to the round trip hotel is a little limited. We did not appreciate paying extra for transportation...when it is normally free for Klong Muang.
