Itinerary
On this full-day tour you will see the 3 main attractions of the Krabi jungle: Wat Tahm Suea (the Tiger Cave Temple), Sra Morakot (the Emerald Pool), and the natural hot spring. First you will visit the Tiger Cave Temple, aptly named because of the rock outgrowth nearby resembling a tiger’s claw. Located about 3 kilometers from Krabi Town, the temple is known as a center for meditation and its spectacular setting in the Ao Luk Thanu mountain range provides the necessary quiet atmosphere for meditation. Some 250 monks and nuns live in the temple compounds at the moment. The main vihara (sanctum sanctorum) is inside a small shallow limestone cave, where the walls are lined by cells. The area is well lit and very well maintained to preserve the serenity of the environment. Here you can venture up the hills by taking 1 of the 2 passages. One passage takes you up 1,239 steps to the hilltop and the other is only 130 steps up to reach a place where monks live in their small cottages. The commanding view all around is worth taking the strain to climb the hill. The whole area is full of caves and limestone rock formations. Archeologists have found remnants of ancient habitations as old as from the Stone Age. Stone tools, shards of pottery and beads, and idols of clay have all been unearthed which bear testimony to the cultural heritage of the area. You will also trek through the jungle to the Emerald Pool/Crystal Lagoon, a fresh water pool inside the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve. The waters of this 120-square-meter pond take on a green hue thanks to an abundance of minerals from the surroundings limestone hills. The crystal clear water is unsuitable for drinking and feels thick due to its high calcium carbonate content which can cause gallstone. Here you can go for a swim to escape the heat of the day and admire the stream, one of the sources of the pool, which tumbles in at one end over rock made smooth by mineral deposits. Another natural wonder you will see on this tour is the natural hot spring in Krabi. Out in the forest about 40 kilometers south of Krabi Town is Klong Thom Waterfall. Though the falls itself is just a cascade tumbling gently but a few meters, it is unique in that the spring water that feeds it bubbles up from the earth at temperature of more than 50 degrees Celsius. It cools a bit as it flows to the cascade and you can swim in the calm stream below for a much cooler bath. Itinerary: 07:45 - 09:20: Hotel pickup in Krabi 09:20 - 10:10: Drive by minivan to Klong Thom 10:10 - 11:10: Relax & swim in the natural Hot Spring 11:15 - 11:30: Continue to Crystal Pool 11:30 - 13:30: Swim in the natural pond of Sra Morakot (Emerald Pool) 13:30 - 14:00: Lunch at a restaurant 14:00 - 14:30: Head to Tiger Cave Temple 14:30 - 16:30: Visit Wat Tahm Suea & hike to the top 16:30 - 16:50: Transfer to hotel

Very little information unfortunately. And what he told us was extremely difficult to understand. Would have really loved to have heard more about the temple, the area, the pools
The hot springs were great as we had private access only to share with one other group. The emerald pool was horrendous. Our guide had warned us it would be busy, but it was crazy busy and just not the beautiful natural waters we had been promised.
A little to much for one day, very little time each place. Beautiful destinations though, I would recommend taking either the pools or tiger temple in one day trip. Also feels a little silly, that there is an additional fee for entering the tiger tempel, since its under construction so you can't! It also wasnt possible to walk the mountain because of bad weather when arriving to the tiger temple, but that not the guides fault ofcourse, she recommended to go there early morning instead.
Really liked the lady tour guide in the taxi, but besides that it was just a taxi taking you to these places. There was no guide/tour, it was just visiting those places all by yourself. Also skip the hot springs. If you are from Europe I recommend going to Center Parks or Landal swimmingpool for an better experience
Crystal pool and hot springs were so crowded that we skipped it and just walk around. It just didn't feel nice to sit in a small hot spring with plenty of other people. Tiger temple was the last thing we visited. It was very hot day and we didn't have enough time to visit the temple, because it is very high on a mountain and the only way to get there is by stairs. So we missed that one. Beware of the monkeys who like to steal your stuff! But they were still very cute and fun to watch
The stairs to get up are very hard to climb cause they’re all different sizes. With the heat on top of it made it very difficult. But we had plenty of breaks to catch our breath which made the climb much longer but still nice and 100% sweaty. There’s monkeys on your way up & down, and some of them were aggressive. Make sure to put a lock on your backpack/ purse, so that the monkeys can’t open it. Bring PLENTY of water for the trip. Once you’re at the top it’s a beautiful view. And for sure worth it. Remember it’s worth it when you’re half way and just wanna go down again😅.
We already knew from previous previews that there would be a lot of tourists at each place and it helped us a lot to enjoy the activities being warned. We had a great time at all places which are really unique and a must see. The Hot Spring was really crowded but at the Emerald Pool we found a spot with less people to enjoy the blue water (really relaxing). The Tiger Temple was a really great adventure and the reason we booked the tour in the first place. Since we are both athletes we made it up the stairs in under 25 min but if you are not as fit you should not spend too much time looking at things on the bottom because there is not much time. We ended up waiting for a lot of people who miscalculated their time. The view from the top is beautiful and worth the hassle.
Your going to visit 3 places that are naturally busy with so many tourists, I went off season and the hot springs was busy but still plenty of places to enjoy it. Emerald pool was nice (busy). The tiger temple and 1260 steps was good fun, bit time poor to do it and relax. Staff are very professional and the car was nice. I could see how some people might complain about the crowds but get over yourself. Its a good day tour at a good price
Having read several reviews on TripAdvisor we didn’t have our expectations set high for this trip. Although there was a lot of tourists (especially at the hot springs) it was still possible to enjoy the different locations. The time we had at the different locations was appropriate. And the lunch was delicious!
The hot springs and the crystal/emerald pool were busy but so awesome to experience! We also climbed the Tiger Cave Temple which was quite tiring as the steps were quite steep so bring water and take breaks but the view from the top is worth it!
We had a great time however we were not informed anything from the driver at the time of pick up. Didn't know anything until we arrived over an hour later. It was not a big issue as I suppose he´s not the tour guide just a driver. Once we arrived the guide was always there waiting for us when the car door opened.
Not a great trip. You spend half the day as part of the commute. The springs are so very crowded even in off season. The emerald pool is underwhelming - especially because of the crowds - about as serene as a circus. What a waste of a great day. Island hopping a much better bet!
For me Tiger Cave Temple needs more time to explore than the 90 minutes we were given during the tour. It is a truely holy place with an amazing Jungle out there. So if I could choose, I would do the first part of the tour in a half day trip and do the Tiger Cave Temple without time limitation.
is an exciting place for leisure activities, testing mental and physical endurance in climbing stairs as many as 1260 stairs, different stair slopes provide challenges to climbers
I’m writing this as so few reviewers actually made the climb up the mountain too. I’ll keep my review of the first two places short. Hot Springs - a small hot water spring (35 to 40 degrees C) joins another cool water spring. Probably no more than 40 people can find a place to sit in the hot water at one time. This places gets busy though and with about 300 people waiting their turn things get busy. I enjoyed only a few minutes in the spring but in 35 degree weather it was enough. Pretty place though. Have a look and leave. Emerald Pool Route - it’s in a nature reserve. There are 4 pools in total. 2 you can swim in and 2 you can’t (too hot water and quicksand apparently). Emerald pool is packed full of screaming kids and people taking selfies. Not my cup of tea personally. The circular walking route on concrete paths through the trees is pretty though. Tiger Cave Temple and the climb to the Buddha at the summit - this was a personal highlight for me. I didn’t wait to look around the lower temple area. I headed straight for the 1237 step climb to the top of the mountain. In case you’re wondering, I’m a 6’2” 105kg 47 year old unfit man who is slightly overweight. The climb is,to be honest, very difficult. However, with the right mental attitude, it’s something many people can achieve. I didn’t think I would make it at the time though. I thought I was going to have a heart attack at around the 200 step mark. I started thinking of excuses to quit at around 500 steps but couldn’t think of any good ones. At 800 steps I though, as I made it this far, I’d go until my legs gave in and kept trying. My clothes were soaked in sweat and I was not a pretty sight. In hindsight carrying a backpack with mobile phone, DSLR camera, spare lens, wallet, water, Thai phrasebook and 2 pens was not a great idea. Taking a small travel towel with was helpful though as it kept the sweat from blinding me. At 1000 steps up I knew I was going to make it sometime. Possibly by sleeping on the mountain and continuing the next day. Then the encouragement from other climbers kicked in. The people making the descent were wonderful motivators. The light at the top could be seen through the trees. Also there is a tap with plentiful cold water and I was extremely thirsty by this stage. The last 200+ steps are tough. Keep telling yourself each step is one step less and take a rest at each “landing”. I won’t go into the beautiful views and what’s at the top. Do the climb to prove something to yourself instead. The rest is a bonus. It is all worth it.
Highlight of our day was the 1400m walk to the Blue Pool. The hot springs and the Emerald Pool are disgustingly full of people. We knew it would be nothing like the pictures, but we were still shocked by the crowds and the accompanied noise (especially of the children). The lunch was chaotic and incredibly rushed, like everything else. Barely made it back in time after walking to the Blue Pool and back. No time for swimming, though we wouldn’t have wanted to anyway. Didn’t go up to the Tiger Cave because of heavy rain. The Blue Pool, again, was nice to see though and a lot quieter. Not sure if that is worth your 20 bucks per head though. There was barely any interaction with the staff. Driver didn’t speak at all and a lady who has done this work way too long was telling us loudly and briefly where to go and when to be back. Know what you get yourself in to and decide for yourself if you really find the pool worth a visit. If you do, better to go on a trip that doesn’t include the Tiger Cave so you have more time at the pools.
Had a really enjoyable experience , the highlights being a bath in the emarald lake and most importantly the challenging climb to the 1000+ steps to the tiger cave temple. Must do item.
The trip started with the Hot Stream.... the park is under renovation to cater for high volumne of visitors. The hot stream is all natural except for a Spa Pool. Right now the natural stream can sit probably about 150 people at 1 time. The Emerald, Blue and Crystal Pool is the next stop. The walk to the pools is about 10 minutes. The colour of the water determined the name of the pool. Tiger Cave Temple..... if you just want to visit the Temples (Tiger, Guan Yin) then you don't need to put on any jogging shoes.
the all natural pool is an an surrounding that is an absolute treat to the eyes, surrounded by jungle this pool looks like an oasis in a green jungle. the water is naturally warm, provides a nice treat, and not to forget the medicinal value of these waters. oh yes, tread carefully the rocks around them do get slippery. when in krabi definitely visit
Emerald pool and Krabi Hot spa, though crowded with tourists, were nice to go to. The crystal clearness of the emerald pool waters was beautiful. Only thing about emerald pool that set me off was the lack of safety. A few people slipped on the algae filled rocks, it was hard to get in and out of the pool without fearing of slipping down the rocks. Hot springs, again filled with tourists and also a tad slippery though not as slippery as emerald pool. Tiger cave temple... I wouldn't bother with this. I wish i got the tour which was just the emerald pool and hot springs. You have to walk up really steep steps and as you keep getting further up the pathway the less safe it gets and th emore jungle trekky. No one that we went with managed to or even bothered to with the sticky weather, attempted getting to the temple in the short time frame you are given. Was a waste of time really.

I only give this tour a 2 because of the complications I had. I stayed on West Railay Beach and had to catch the longtail boat not included in the tour fare. You had to pay 100 Baht per person and either wait for total of 8 people or pay 800 Baht to be taken immediately. Due to not being able to wait and wanting to arrive at Anamo Pier as instructed by Cattery Tour, I purchased the longtail for 800 Baht although there was only 3 people. We arrived at 8:05, prior to our 8:15 time. We waited until 9:15 when we were picked someones personal vehicle. The company had the wrong name but the correct reference number. We were transported to the rest of the group, let off on the street and had to jay walk to get to the van. Due to the van being late, the driver drove extremely fast to us to the hot springs. His erratic driving caused my daughter to get sick and vomit 2 times upon arriving. Luckily, there were 2 nurses from Canada on our tour who gave her motion sickness medicine for the remaining part of the tour. The hot springs were crowded but pretty interesting. At the Tiger Cave Temple, our group struggled to make summit come back to the van on time. My 3 made it back 15 minutes late, then another lady nurse the driver said he was going to leave the other 8 people. We begged him not too because their belongings were in the van. 30 minutes later 6 others arrived, at which point our driver wanted to give the 2 peoples belongings to a taxi cab driver. We had to beg him not to do so. Luckily everyone made the trip back to their hotels and I had to pay only 300 Baht for my return trip.
Suggestions: Longtail boat should be included in tour cost and Tiger Cave Temple should be first due to hike being strenuous followed by relaxing in the pool and hot springs.

If you insist on seeing these places, it's perhaps best to go by tours as they are far away and have entrance fees. But if you are in doubt whether to go or not, my suggestion is no. Both emerald pool and the hot spring are super small, and packed with international and local tourists. They are not so special and you won't have much time to spend in each of them either. The budha temple is on top of a mountain and you will literally melt if you want to go up over thousands of step at that time of the day...many stay down there and sit in a coffee shop. I wouldn't recommend this day tour at all...there must be better ways to spend your time in Krabi.

Worth the trip, definitely go in the morning or if hotel is close get a cab and go even earlier.Alot of time spent in the minivan and quite rushed at the pools. You’re not paying for a tour, you’re paying for a ride there and back, and you better be back at the meeting spot or they wont wait for you!

tour leader the lady is not okay,, the arrangement time is so bad,, so rush everything.even the lunch i got only 5 minutes, so stupid that lady.

This was a well organised trip. The only thing I'd change is a bit longer at each location as there was more to see but we ran out of time, especially at the Tiger Cave Temple. All 3 locations are worth visiting. Climbing the Tiger Cave steps was HARD but so worth it. You'd need to be fairly fit to do this within the time you have at this stop. Be careful of the monkeys as they look cute but can bite or steal from you!

only did the crystal pool and hot spring. the hot spring was good, although I was badly bitten there and you need to be careful of slippy rocks. My recommendation is some rubber soled aqua shoes if you have them. I took the scenic walk to the emerald pool the second stop and it was 100 nicer than the main route there and back. It says 1.4km on the sign but if felt less than that and met hardly any people.

Tour included : 1. Jungle tracking to crystal pool. 2. Buggy ride to hot springs. 3. Big C supermarket and souvenir shop for some shopping.

Bad Planning. No guide assigned we were being attended by tour guide of some other tourist group. Tour starts at 8:30 am with hotel pick and we are taken to a natural hot spring which is quite crowded. Next we move to Emerald pool which is a small natural pool whose colour is like an emerald stone. Last stop is Tiger cave temple which has some 1200 steep stairs to reach the top, the view is breathtaking but one is quite exhausted in this journey. Tiger cave has to be at the start of the trip followed by the hot spring and pool to make a sensible tour

Right off the bat the guide said that they are not a tour guide. There was no one to share much about anywhere we were. There were also no snacks or free coffee/tea as stated.

Sorry but I would not recommend this tour, The Emerald Pools and the Hot Springs were ok but the Tiger Cave Temples was the one that my husband and I were really looking forward too...we arrived at Tiger Cave Temple at 14:00 pm and we left at exactly at 15:30 pm. Only 3 out of the 9 on the tour decided to go up the 1200 steps to the Temple. More of the tour wanted to but felt unable to get up and back down in that time frame. One and half hours is not enough time given the temperature and the humidity to climb these steps I felt physically ill by the time I got to the top, we had approximately 5 minutes to enjoy the view, before we had to rush back down to get to the bus in time. The tour guide was not at all friendly. We were dropped back at our pickup point at 15.50 pm. I was so unimpressed I kept a note of the times. The following day we did another tour booked by yourself and it was one of our favourite highlights of our holiday.

Thank God we only did a "half" day..basically lost an entire day in Krabi doing something which would have been interesting and beautiful..literally NO guide other than someone who handed out wrist bracelets and pointed us in the direction of ridiculous "springs" and some watering hole.Waste of time

We only went on the half day tour which includes the Emerald Pool Crystal pool was closed, but emerald was more impressive and the natural hot springs. Once the tour bus brings you to the location you are on your own to navigate to the pool or spring and its easy to do. I really appreciated having my own time to explore and enjoy the locations. The tour bus driver/guide was very nice and that always makes service great. I recommend going with this tour company for any tour. They know how to be hospitable.

Very beautiful and different trip to seeing islands. My son managed the 1,200 steps up to top to see the temple and said the view was incredible. Sadly I only made it to 600 then twisted knee - some of steps are really high. But still excellent trip.

If you want a tour guide and more than a taxi ride do not book this tour! I was severely disappointed, we just had a driver and a 'tour guide' who when we arrived at the destination basically said alright guys be back at the car at this time and that is it! We were left to find and explore everything on our own with no tour guide in sight quite dangerous. In the end it meant that we didn't get the experience we were hoping for as we spent most of time getting lost trying to find places and had no knowledgeable person to guide us through the tiger cave temple. One of the worst tours I had in Thailand and I had many!! Vaitor needs to amend the description and call this tour minibus ride to Tiger cave temple with free time no tour guide provided.

Tour was really fun and lunch was delicious. Felt a little rushed at the hot springs but was beautiful everywhere else.

This was not a good tour! First of all they were 30 min late picking me up...one of the other passengers said they were waiting for 45 min. The whole thing felt rushed and when we got to the last stop, the tiger cave temple we only had an hour, which is not enough time to get to the top and back. The driver was however willing to charge each of us over a 1000 baht tontake us to the top!! Quite disappointing as the tiger cave was the only thing i really wanted to see!!!

The places we visited were great, however the guide was disappointing. I chose a guided tour to these locations in an effort to learn more about them. Our guide told us nothing, he simply walked us to the gate, talked to us like children about what time to return and left.

They did a good job given the time constraints, but I think this tour tries to fit too much into one day. You spend a lot of time driving and get very little time at each location. We were given less than an hour each at the Spring and Pools and only a little over an hour at the Temple. We started at 9am and didn't get back until around 5pm and yet still felt very rushed. I would recommend visiting these places over two days to other tourists.

One of our favourite trips. Emerald pool/ hot springs are nice, although very crowded. Tiger Temple is worth the climb. Although some steps are a foot in height and steep, you will be thankful you made it. More time needed at the temple, and we would have preferred to do the temple first not last.

Everything was poorly organized.. Broken and dirty plates.. food of terrible quality.. Dirty pool... Entertainment 0.... Unqualified, inexperienced and rude staff.. Offensive manager... To try to remedy or make up for all the problems.. He hoped and thought he could buy us with four glasses of wine!!! Offensive !!!!
Great experience, the hot springs are very relaxing and the blue lagoon is very nice. The emerald pool if it's too full. Tiger temple is beautiful and a great experience but not recommended for people without fitness
Many water points do not make very natural especially the one where you swim! The guide very smiling and available, ensures his follow-up, the driver coming although discreet. The temple is a good physical exercise rewarded by sight.
Well organized and a nice trip! Were almost always the first at the individual stations, so it was not quite as crowded!
This is a sightseeing and active eco-tour giving a complete picture of Krabi, a typical province of SEE, excluding the Andaman Sea. Everywhere a little bit, you get exhausted by the pleasure of the "picture" that has developed by the evening about what is in the visited territory: mountain caves, buda temples, lakes-waterfalls, hot springs, jungle... You must bring: swimming aids, protective equipment against blood suckers and sun, comfortable shoes, clothes hiding bare shoulders and knees when visiting temples... It would be nice to still be young and healthy or trained for outdoor activities... First you are steamed in thirty degrees heat in natural hot springs: shallow natural cavities filled with hot water and people, the cascading waterfall passes into a pond, where there is a platform with similarities and tarzanki. Changing rooms are apparently somewhere, but recommend not changing and putting a towel under the wet move to the next stop. It's a long, half-running journey through the trails in the jungle of National Park. Chic views: turbulent interweavings of bright vegetation, mangroves, a wild lake with crystal clear water and a dazzling blue bottom due to copper mineralization. And finally, a big lake with karst pistes and waterfalls to bathe in. Here for a swim, change and the next item... It's a place of worship and religion that needs to be dedicated not for 1.5 hours, but all day. A few points to view: the temple cave, on the third level behind the bars the sacred trail of the Tiger strewn with offering money; a large area with several temple complexes, a waterfall and a swimming pool with a mass of wild monkeys descending from the mountain in search of food from wandering tourists - not recommended to feed! You can walk around the mountain on the right: a small climb and descent into a couple of terraces, there are monks' houses in the jungle, there are many cells in the mountain, beyond the great Buddha with a mass of offerings, a dummy and the skeleton of the Righteous, and an open-air refectory. And also right uphill many terraces for relaxation, steep 1260 steps and when climbing you need to calculate the forces on the descent. But those who opened from the height of beauty are worth it: the golden Buddha and many more smaller ones, the view from the height. And pride in conquering the tallest statue in Krabi province. We have to catch the tour bus and not get caught in the squeal of the waiting company of strange satellites! Good luck and thinking about what's been overcome.
excellent tour depart et retour a l'heure matinee aus sources chaudes avec tres peu de monde....super bon lunch visite du temple l'apres midi.....difficile!!
The places visited we liked a lot, even being a little crowded (we went in January, high season). If you are traveling to Krabi visit these sites is recommended, especially the Temple of Tiger Cave. The climb is hard but it can be done calmly and it is an amazing experience. The views above are magnificent and the temple itself is very nice. Regarding this activity, I would not recommend anyone to buy it. You're treated like a flock they're running back and forth without explanation. They pick you up at the hotel, drive you to the hot springs and there a guide basically tells you, in a few seconds where you get to the hot springs, that’s all the explanation you’re going to get. And it gives you just enough time to walk to the thermal waterfall, get in and back. It's very run run. Then they take you to the glass pools, where, if you want to visit them, including the blue lagoon, you basically have to go at full speed and gives you to get in the pool about 5 minutes (if you walk pretty fast). As before the guide does not explain anything (a mere follows the signs). The food is pure ranch and they give you a few minutes to eat. They sit you at big tables, bring you a bottle of water, pour you some rice and let you pour some chicken and vegetables. You obviously don't choose anything. Finally they take you to the tiger cave. The same, empty explanation, simply remind you that you have an hour and little to visit. Considering that if you are fit it takes you at least about 20 minutes to climb and another 10 minutes to descend (there are 1200 very steep stairs), it gives you time to beat yourself uphill, a couple of photos, get down, another couple of photos running and it's over. Finally, what they include drinks, we were given a bottle of water in the middle of the morning and another eating. At least one other would have been appreciated as you climbed down from the Tiger Cave, but as in the whole excursion, it is all set up to give you as little as possible so that the organizers can finish as soon as possible. They don't care about you. In short, I would recommend that you do not stop making these visits, at least the one of the cave of the tiger, but never ever buy it by trip advisor or with any of the options online. Yes, you are willing to be treated regularly, but to be taken from one place to another, hire him at any position in the city and negotiate the price very downwards. You're basically just hiring a Van Service and a worthless meal. If you can, it is better to hire a transport that will take you and allow you a reasonable time to visit. Our feeling was just to run back and forth.
