The L Resort

We are a family of five that have just stayed at this fabulous hotel for the second time. Each time they went over and above the level of service that was expected with making sure that we had connecting rooms. We do not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody that would like to stay in Ao Nang. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff were wonderful. Thank you very, very much The L Resort! We will definitely be back.

I wasn’t going to post this review because I hate giving 1 star to any business, but I truly cannot let this experience slide as a conscientious traveler. When my boyfriend and I checked in around 7 pm, we were impressed by the front desk’s service and hospitality. They offered us a little glass of iced tea and guided us to our room. The next morning, when we went to the front desk to ask for beach towels, the manager (a Western man named Michael or Michel) suddenly demanded to see my passport and angrily asked if I planned to stay another night. When I explained that we had both provided our passports the previous night, he doubled down saying “I know you didn’t provide your passport” and aggressively implied that I was an escort who had snuck in the night before. As it turns out, he had my boyfriend confused with a completely different guest. I didn’t want to make a scene at the moment, but we were extremely offended by how quickly the staff were willing to racially profile us as a john and prostitute, just because I am an Asian woman staying with a white-passing man in Thailand. We are a couple of three years who had properly registered and checked in together! Sure, you can mistake two guests who may have looked similar. But to immediately jump to accusations without even checking our room number or if you had our passports on file? Not even asking for our names and only going by (racial) appearance??? I am genuinely still in shock by how aggressively the manager spoke to us, and how it took multiple complaints before the hotel took any measures to remedy the situation. A huge shame, because I think this place is a decent resort with good facilities. The manager’s horrible attitude towards his guests has completely turned me off, however, and I would recommend any mixed-race couples to think twice before booking. What a disgusting experience.

I enjoyed every moment! I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service. Room: Spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the noise isolation was excellent – I didn’t hear anything from the street or the hallway. Service: All the staff, from the cleaners to the shift managers, had a smile on their faces. Facilities: The pool is beautiful and the atmosphere there is very relaxing and also the restaurant is excellent. In summary: Excellent value for money 😊

I had a fantastic week at The L Resort Krabi and would definitely come back again. The biggest highlight is the location — it’s literally right across from Ao Nang Beach and in the center of everything, with restaurants, shops, and nightlife all within walking distance. It made getting around incredibly easy. The rooms were spacious, modern, and very clean, and housekeeping did a great job every day. I also really enjoyed the two swimming pools, which are well-maintained and perfect for relaxing after a day out. What really stood out, though, was the staff — everyone was genuinely friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. The service felt warm and personal, not just standard hotel service. Breakfast was another strong point — a good variety of options and everything fresh and well-prepared. The only small thing to be aware of is that because the hotel is in a lively area, there can be some noise at night from nearby bars — but that’s part of being right in the heart of Ao Nang. Overall, this is a great choice if you want a clean, well-located hotel with excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere, especially if you enjoy being close to the beach and the action.
