Stayed Nov-dec2025. Started in delux room with spa with superb views then moved to villa for a week. Possibly the best hotel stay of our lives (‘and we’ve travelled a lot). What made it really special?Eric and his staff are truly exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble, professional but warm and friendly. Food is top notch, we tried several restaurants but their food beat most. 2 for 1 cocktails every day watching never ending sunsets. Privacy, adult only so no noisy kids, great rooms, the villas are exceptional. If you want a seriously great place to stay, this is it.
We had the most amazing experience staying at this lovely hotel. The room and view were brilliant and we will remember it forever. But the staff were the main highlight and assets to this already amazing hotel. Tak, Af, Meow and Mang (i hope are spelt correctly) were fabulous, friendly and just all round lovely people who made our stay so fun and enjoyable. Thank you to you all we will definitely be returning in the future
Paradise with amazing views
Absolutely beatifull, calming and relaxing hotel with amazing staff.
My room and the whole place is so beautifull, spotlessly clean, calm and quiet.
Had the privilege suite and I’m almost speechless at beauty of the room and the view from it. Soaking on the jacuzzi, watching sunset and listening to the waves crashing on the shore was so relaxing and soothing my soul.
Really good wifi and the pool is lovely and one of a kind.
Breakfast the best, made by order. Ate all my meals at Red Alert restaurant and everything was so delicious.
And as a bonus, got to enjoy breakfast watching cute monkeys playing around.
This was unforgettable and just incredibly wonderful experience.

A wonderful place to stay in Ko Lanta. Amazing breakfasts, incredible sunset views, with great privacy (it's a small hotel). Although it's on the south (quieter) part of island, there's still a lot of restaurants/bars nearby if you want. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. A peaceful and memorable stay— hope to come back one day.
My husband and I spent 8 wonderful days at The Houben and truly loved our time there. We were initially placed on the first level, but thanks to Tak and the team’s flexibility, we were moved up to the third floor, which gave us an even more incredible view of the pool and the ocean. It made such a difference and we were really grateful for it.
The room was spotless every single day. Housekeeping was incredibly thorough—fresh bath and beach towels daily, clean floors, and overall attention to detail that went above and beyond what we expected.
During our stay, we often walked to the nearby main street (literally a one-minute walk) where there’s a 7/11, plenty of great restaurant options, and lots of scooter rental spots, which made getting around super easy. We also loved heading to the nearby beach for sunset—it became one of our favorite parts of the day. We enjoyed breakfast at The Houben and ate at the hotel restaurant a few times as well. The small gym was a nice bonus too, with weights, yoga mats, and a treadmill—perfect for a simple workout.
We would absolutely love to come back and highly recommend The Houben if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing place with beautiful views. The staff truly made our stay special and so comfortable. We’ll miss you, Tak, Mung, Auf, Golf, Meow, and Eric—and of course Miaomiao, the sweetest cat.
