my understanding of a private tour....you have a guide telling you all details of area. The driver was last getting to our resort, think he should have phoned resort advising us that he was late picking us up

We had 6 pp. The driver was local and could not speak any english. He was assigned to bring us to different temples but there was no guide. Also lunch was arranged at the end of the tour very late around 3pm and we were so hungry at 1pm we stopped elsewhere for lunch and pay our own way. I felt for 60 sgd per person there should have been more organisation, a guide and a lunch at the appropriate time. For this type of service we could.have hired a local driver for 2200 baht and done the same. We paid 11000 baht instead.
Our driver, even though we had to use the translator to communicate, he was very accommodating and we were free to do our own tour of Ko Samui, from Port. Thank you for a great time. We reached the port on time no problem.
We had a great day. Picked up on time from accommodation and didn’t feel rushed. Took us to all the main attractions.
A great tour that takes around the popular tourist attractions in Koh Samui. Enough time was given at each attraction and we seem to have avoided big crowds. A tasty lunch was included. Our driver was lovely but didn’t speak much English
Great places to visit but no English speaking guide. When we asked the Fri er he referred us to the sign which explains about the site. I history of commentary about the city. The only thing he did was drive me back to the store where I left my phone, for that I was very grateful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and enough for 8 of us. No water or fruit provided as per your inclusions.
A nice couple of hours getting a sense of this island. Some nice viewpoints and beaches. A very nice lunch with a water view included. Was convenient that this tour was provided by the same company Highseas) that provides port services.
It was a good thing to do, knowing it was a relatively quick way of having a look around but the driver wasn’t very friendly and the food served at the restaurant was bland and boring. The car was nice though.
Firstly, the driver arrived on time! at the resort to collect us!! Excellent day tour. The driver provided us with flexibility to add and remove locations as needed.
A wonderful place with a beautiful view of the sea, the temples are beautiful overall a great experience
Don’t book this tour. They offered “ a knowledgeable and friendly local guide who will offer plenty of history information” but they sent only a driver with basic English speaking skills, very kind though, but the only information we received was the names of the places we visited. They offered 5 hours tour and the driver said it was booked only for 4 hours, but he agreed to 5 hours once we showed him the booking confirmation. We found out we could have hired a driver for 5 hours for 2.500 thb or 2.750 thb. When we tried to reach out the operator number, they were just asking us to call different numbers! Nobody was responsible. No tripadvisor, no Oh Hoo or any other operator involved. Don’t waste your time and money.
Absolute bare minimum of service. Supposed to be English-speaking "tour guide" in a "private car" with cold drinks along the way. What it actually was: a driver who spoke bare minimum English, just enough to communicate how long we had in each spot (and only if asked). I tried to ask him some things about the spots, but it was fruitless -- I don't blame the guy for not speaking English, but don't call it an English-speaking tour... The vehicle --yes, we were the only ones in the vehicle, but it was a 10-person mini-van. (It was fine in terms of spreading out, but the ad made it seem like it would be more of a higher-end SUV.) Cold drinks? Only when we bought them when we wandered around one of the tourist traps we visited... At the end of the tour, he took us to a restaurant where the meal was apparently part of the tour -- but the guy couldn't tell me if we had to pay or not. (We didn't pay for the food -- just the drinks, which was fine.) But they never asked us if we had any allergies or if there was any food we liked/disliked. I suspect this is similar to other tours on the island -- it's not too expensive, but keep your expectations very low. You basically get a guy who drives you around.
Nice tour as described (except for the mummified monk as the place was closed). Start time was 10 instead of 11 but we liked the early start due to the hot weather. Driver was patient we asked to stop for coffee and he was okay with it. He did not proven to be a tour guide as his English was very basic. Surprise lunch included in a local restaurant (spring rolls, curry, salad). No water / drinks were included as the description states. The car was rather a minibus for the two of us and it was a bit stinky (very strong boiled rice smell)
It was OK, nothing extra ordinary..you can get same with much lesser amount. It was just going to 4-5 places with driver who can not communicate.
Driver didn’t introduce him Did say we’re were going to see next I wasn’t told any information at all of different sight. Very little conversation at all
Very good way to see the island highlights especially if only staying in one location. Food was good and meant the rest of the day was free to do something else.
We had a really wonderful trip! The guide was very kind and explained everything, the van was clean. We had a blast - would recommend!
It is also a good options for those mainly touring the island by songthaew and is a great opportunity to quickly see the sites on the island. One of my favorite spots was the Chaweng Beach lookout point. It is worth it to walk down to the bottom to take pictures. Also have a look at the various statues around the Big Buddha (shown below), on site there are signs describing the importance of the figures. Note: to visit the temples on the tour you have to have your shoulders covered so if you don't want to pick up a (free community) shawl at the temples, keep that in mind
We really enjoyed the sites on the tour. Our driver gave us as much time at each spot as we wanted for pictures. Lunch was delicious! We would have like to hear more information about the locations we were visiting though.
Interesting informative and worth the money trip. Can opt for this trip if you just want to visit only the temples in Koh Samui.
We booked a tour with an English speaking guide. The driver who picked us up did not say hello or say his name. No guide in sight. We arrived at the first destination. He picked up a postcard, pointed at the photo, and then indicated which way we should walk! This was not acceptable. We found out later he did not have a license so could not be seen guiding us. I called the company right away. It took several calls to correct things. Ninety minutes later, a wonderful guide named Khun Vipa met us. She spoke English well and gave us good information on everything we visited. I was really shocked at Viator, who we've used before. Either they haven't properly vetted this local company, or they don't care if we get what we contracted for. I had to solve this myself, but thankfully Khun Vipa saved the day. Without her, we would never have recommended this company or this tour.
Overall a nice day out, and it was an easy and cost-effective way to see a lot of highlights. This was a brilliant way to see everywhere so cheap. And also, it wasn’t too long as some tours can be. Perfect amount of time spent at each place too and lovely air-con van.
Importantly, if you are expecting a guided tour with guide and information about the sights, as in the previous reviews, is wrong. However, we had a very nice chauffeur who had the necessary English skills to communicate with us. If you are looking for a trip to see the sights and snap souvenir photos, without any historical background or further information, you will like it. The tour took us 5h (including lunch). We looked at 6 sights and could even change no one, as we did not want to look at them. Per sight you have 20 - 30 minutes, which is enough to look at it and take photos. The sights are freely accessible and you don't have to pay admission anywhere. Somiz is summarized in this tour, really just a ride. Which, however, was so suitable for us. Also with the not too long times per sight.
