We gave this trip such a low score as kayaking was mentioned in title of trip but there was no kayaking. There is very little to do on Pig Island other than watch the cute pigs. The crew took our shoes before we left the harbour which was an issue on Pig Island as sand is full of shells and felt like walking on gravel so not pleasant to wander around. The positives were the lunch was nice, the pigs were cute, the bus transfer and boat were very clean and on time.

Fun outing. Basic snorkeling and then a few relaxing hours on Pig Island, with a good lunch included. Despite what I’ve seen posted online, these pigs are not starving or mistreated. This is essentially a petting zoo with pigs and many cute little piglets. Everyone was well behaved, pigs, piglets, dogs, and people alike. And the vast white beaches were quite clean. I enjoyed this. Slightly chaotic in the morning as the different shuttles collected all the tourists, but the rides home were very well organized.
We had a funfull morning with the pigs feeding them pellets bought on the island. All the tourists were feeding the pigs as they were advertised as friendly pigs. Not turning out as a good experience. A pig attacked/bited us. The Hospital of Bangkok advised us that they see people on a daily basis . 14 800 baht later, per person, multiple injections for (tetnis and rabies )
We got picked up at our hotel at 7:30 in the morning and drove for half an hour to the north east of Koh Samui. There, at the harbour we had to wait for 45 minutes and then proceeded to drive all the way back to our hotel (which we passed at around 9:20) and then a little further to the southern harbour, where we then again had to wait a few minutes. For us this was rather unnecessary stress and a time waste. As we had to get up much earlier than needed and also missed breakfast. We took off around 10:00 at the southern harbour and arrived after 15 minutes at the first destination where we could snorkel and see a lot of fish and corals. We stayed there until 11:00 and proceeded onto Pig Island. There we had time until 14:00 to eat (a rather tasty) lunch, go kayaking, and of course feed the pigs. Overall, the trip and the people were really nice but the start was just badly organised.
Staying on pig island for two hours is too much to watch a bunch of pigs and stray dogs. People were chasing baby pigs to pick them up or pet them and poor dogs are so hungry, they have to eat pig food. It is so sad .
There is no white small pigs only black and they don’t want go to the water to swim Food so and so You can make some nice photos but nothing super special The trip is slow we was waiting a lot for nothing The team is nice
This tour starts off at some rundown port where you wait around to get on the boat which is over crowded. A short stop to go snorkeling with lots of other boats then onto pig island where you sit and look at pigs for the next 4 hrs! Nice beach to have a swim. Lunch is provided if you could call it food! Dried chicken wings ( one only no extra allowed) and some pork mince. I know you don’t go on these tours for the culinary delights but this was hardly edible! Pigs were kind of cute but beware they do bite when being fed which is understandable. You do get warned about this but of course some people never listen. Would not recommend.
A fantastic day out! I would highly recommend that you book this trip. Very professional team - a great experience. The lunch was also very delicious and as a vegetarian I was very well catered for. The pigs are very cute and feeding them was fun! The scenery and setting is stunning.
We booked the tour with not much notice, the included transfer was seem-less and was appreciated after a day in the sun. Our tour guide was lovely and the crew were super helpful. The tour itself wasn’t what we expected. Pig island was filled with around 30 other tourist boats which made swimming in the ocean to cool off difficult. Kayaking we were only allowed to go in a small section and do one lap as they didn’t have enough for everyone. It was only in the ocean, this was a disappointment. The included lunch was delicious, however make sure you get a table and chairs early as there isn’t many to sit at. The snorkelling over the coal was great however recommended bringing your own gear as theirs is old and life jackets are too big to wear.
Honestly amazing experience. The only issue was that we waited 45 minutes on the boat for someone that was late & the time was lost.
Such a different experience and really fun. Definitely a must do if in Samui as it’s not something you would see anywhere else.
Tour guides were great and I lucked out with a great group as well. But, the tour just isnt worth the price in my opinion. I’ve paid less to do more
Had such an amazing day!! This is also a great price is you are coming from Chaweng, as the rides there will cost 800-1000 baht, but this tour includes pickup and drop-off. I lived that we got to spend so much time on pig island and had the option to join the kayaking whenever worked for us. The lunch was fantastic and the snorkeling afterwards was also super enjoyable. The boat was also so fancy and comfy! I've been recommending this to everyone i meet in Samui :)
Staff were helpful but there was just too much waiting around to make this a worthwhile excursion. Pickup was late (outside the range provided) and then you get dropped off at the dock where everyone waited around about an hour before finally being loaded onto busses. The pig island was dirty and the beach was not suitable for swimming but we still had a lot of fun playing with the pigs. I saw some reviews saying that almost all the pigs are gone but there were plenty of pigs and piglets to feed and play with. The included lunch was so-so; did the job but nothing to write home about. Everyone was ready to go from pig island after an hour or so but you are there almost 2.5 hours which really wears you down in the heat. The snorkling was fun and there were lots of beautiful fish to see. After returning to the dock there was another 25 or so minute wait for the van to take us back to the hotel.
My partner and I enjoyed the trip. It was fun to see the pigs on the island and the kayaking was decent. You can even go round the island if you're brave enough. The provided food was tasty and the snorkelling in the end was also good, however you do have to swim away from the boat to actually see something. A lot of people just stayed around the boat... The only drawback was that the whole trip ended very fast, we were back at our hotel at around 3pm. A bit longer itinerary would be nice.
Tour was amazing 🤩 the trip out/back was really good and the pigs were super cute! The tour guides are also good and they supply you lunch as well if it's in the tour program! The snorkeling was also good with clear water and nice fish!
NOT RECOMMENDED. meeting point at 9am for nothing : we need to contact by phone and Whatsapp 2 different persons to finally follow by scooter the last meeting point for taking the boat at 10:25 Waiting for every shuttle. After 5 minutes : snorkeling in a middle of the sea without anything to see: no fish. nothing... Pig Island was a good experience and very funny. beginning of the experience was unpleasant.
The worst trip I have done. It is a rip off. We got taken to pig island, stayed there for 4 hours to just see pigs. That doesn’t take 4 hours. We also ate there but as there were pigs around the food it had flies swarming all over the food. It was disgusting. The weather was also not very good but we didn’t get any money back even though the conditions were not very good for kayaking or snorkelling.
We were picked up by a driver who seemed intent on doing the quickest pickups ever - bus 279. Drove like a maniac, overtaking, and tailgating the whole way. We were then dropped off with a huge group of people and the driver sped off into the sunset. People everywhere, absolutely zero organisation. Eventually(about 25 mins later) we were ushered over to a table who took our details and tied ribbons round us. After this we were told to board a boat, despite not being told which one or which number. We then departed on this boat with about 35/40 other people. The boat was extremely overfilled and there was very little breathing space. First stop was snorkelling. We were tied up and told we were here for an hour in the middle of nowhere in choppy waters. Wouldn’t have usually gotten off in this water but it was a relief to not be on the boat! After this we headed to pig island. We left the boat with zero instruction again, no idea of how long till we needed to be back etc. At least the island was good. Pigs everywhere, beautiful sand, little place to get beers etc. Food was provided, vegi option was rice, chips, and spring rolls. AKA - beige, dry food - yum(or not). 3 hours later we were pilled back onto the 3 boats to sweat and breathe all over a bunch of strangers on an overfilled boat. Instructions say that there will be a maximum of 30 people on the tour, this is absolute banter!! Back at the main island, 20 minute wait to get back on our near death experience journey home with our psycho driver. Island = good. Everything else = avoid. Find an alternative tour.
Nobody tells you till you get to the island that there is not to many pigs left on the island due to all the tourists touching the pigs and spreading disease or virus, the pics of happy looking pigs swimming and playing on the beach was not what we saw at all. We saw about 6-7 pigs all just waiting for food that they sell. Didn’t see any on the beach or in the water.
We rang the operator the day before the trip as the weather was terrible and we were concerned. They said they would still pick us up in the morning, the next day was even worse with Thunder/Lightning and torrential rain, when we went to the hotel reception the staff told us we shouldn't be going as it wasn't safe, they rang the operator but they said they were still picking us up and would see if it was ok to go on boat when we go to the port. We told them we weren't happy to do this so declined to get on minibus. We believe this should have been cancelled due to the severe weather and we should have been refunded.
I wasn’t sure whether to book this tour or not as some reviews were negative, however, I’m so glad I did! It was a day of paradise and there were plenty of pigs around (and some piglets!). Well stocked with water bottles from them all day and lunch was great - so much food! Definitely worth doing ☺️
The speedboat to pig island was great, the island itself was beautiful if a bit busy, and the snorkelling amongst tiger fish incredible, Now for the negative. There’s used to be 27 pigs until swine flue arrived, now there are just 2 ! All the others died, 1 pig called “ lucky” and another laying with a broken leg! Presumably called unlucky, so sad to see, If you book this imagining playing with the cute baby pigs on the beach you will be sadly disappointed 😢 To the operators I would politely suggest you sell this as a boat trip, snorkelling and kayaking day, I understand everyone needs to make a living but can’t condone this verging on cruelty ,
Not recommended. When arriving at the peer, we had to wait for the boat for 30min (although it was the morning tour - no idea why). Most disappointing was the pig island: only one pig was there and it seemed like the inhabitants use it to attract tourists. A second one was laying in its stable because of a broken leg. Very different to what the pictures make it look like. The view point on the island was a joke, you could only look at water. Positives: the guide was friendly and the boat was good.
Worst tour ever. Overcrowded the boat beyond licensed capacity. No pigs on the island. Drove a spot with no fish. Pick-up driver left us, even though we were traveling with a new born and a four year old, 1 KM from our house. Do not get ripped off by this venue
The beach was beautiful, nice place to sit and relax, then we moved onto the viewpoint which was stunning. There weren't many pigs and they didn't seem to be interested in the sea but this can't be helped. Unfortunately there was a lot of sediment in the ocean do visibility was very poor, plenty of fish but couldn't really see much else, again this can't be helped so overall a good tour and nice day out with good staff
Very nice white sand beach with a nice beach bar with awesome food provided. I did expect a few more pigs… The location for snorkelling could have been better. Would recommend going.
A small island, clear water, has activities to do, such as diving, kayaking, a shop selling small snacks.
They like shrimp crackers. Take a fifteen-minute boat ride from the Samui side, chilling, sunbathing, sipping cocktails, and listening to the sound of waves.
The small paradisiacal and wild island is located in the southeast of the island of Koh Samui. I go there to spend the day with friends.
From our friends feedback,we were encouraged to visit this place for a day trip whilst in Koh Samui. The most important consideration before going is to check on the sea conditions. It was rough on departure and the waves high. Upon arrival at the island we found the restaurant on the beach inundated with sea water ( it was high tide). It was scenic but because of the tough seas we couldn’t swim. Yes we did see some pigs and we bought food from the restaurant to feed them.Advice to take a speed boat instead of a long tail boat during the monsoon periods. I would have given a higher rating if I have gone there during better weather conditions.
One day trip not far from Samui, lovely wild pig on the beach. Amazing blue sky and clear water. Best for boat trip, adventure and chill.
Where else can get close & personal with a pig on a tropical beach? These pigs sure do have a great life.
Be there @COVID-19. So in the morning, we had the beach for us alone 3 people and a lovely wild pig on the beach. Great pleasure
Half-day trip not far from Samui, lovely wild pig on the beach. Apart from a family of friendly pigs on the island the water is calm and very clear so it was nice to spend a few hours swimming and relaxing. There is a bar with drinks and food on the island.
The best boat trip i've had in Thailand (and I've tried a lot!). Driver arrived on time and was very friendly. The speedboat was great and the guys leading the trip were very helpful and kind. My guide spoke great English and offered to take pictures for me all day which was so nice as I was alone. The lunch was amazing, one of the best meals I've had in the country! Usually the boat tours give you a small box of fried rice but on the STUNNING pig island, they set up tom yum, Tom kha, lots of fresh stir fried vegetables, rice, pineapple and watermelon... So good! Snorkelling was great as so many fish on the coral! Pig island was amazing and kayaking etc also.... Just a perfect day and great value!:)
Was a nice trip also the guide was great (Two was very nice and tried). Snorkeling was also good, with few different fish.
We were picked up early - and were the last to be picked up, after which we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes where nothing happened. There was very little information - only about where we were going and for how long. On arrival at Ko Mat Sum, you could leave side items in the "tight" hands of the employees who smoked marijuana.... We chose not to leave our things with them, and did not feel it was particularly important that they were responsible for getting us out and home safely. It turned out that there were only 3 kayaks available so you were lucky if you got 10 minutes with one of them. The guide was nice and welcoming, but his English was somewhat lacking. The food was fine, but there were no soft drinks as advertised.
We had a great day! The organization was great, the team super sweet and the Pig Island is definitely worth a visit!
Great ride on the island with pig, with a stop to dive. It was beautiful, to recommend. Guide at the top, eat on the beautiful island.
