Koh Samui: Small-group Fishing Trip With Bbq Lunch And Transfers

Great day out, fish were on the small side but plentiful. Skipper and especially his helper were very attentive and great fun to be around.

This is not a trip for experienced fishermen. There were 3 boats all with about 16 on board. We headed out and trolled past the reefs on the way out. One of our rods went off and instead of the deckie handing it to a passenger he proceeded to bring the fish in. We then progressed out to the first anchor spot along with the other two boats. I think we landed about 5 fish. The biggest being 125mm. all three boats moved around in a reasonably small area before we headed off to anchor for lunch. It was shallow water and some on the other boats went for a swim. The lunch was lovely with chicken, fish and prawns, rice and salad with watermelon for dessert. Cola and water were available all day. After lunch all three boats went to other areas, all very close to each other. I think we may be landed about 15 tiny fish all day. We trolled back in again but had no takes. It appears to me the operator has the boats going to the same areas, probably nearly every day. No wonder there are no fish, particularly when everything over 100mm seems to be kept. Rods and reels are Ok but spooled with mono and not braid. As I said not a trip for experienced anglers

Due to promotionpictures expectations with regards to various fishtypes and sizes was far to be met. Caught a bucket of same two fishtypes weigt from 40 to 300 grams. Could easily fit in a private mideum saltwater aquarium. Staff and pichup from hotell was great, nice tasty lunch made on sea. Perhaps the trip should be advertised for families with small children, or people totally new into fishing.

The photos you see on advertisement are missleading and most of them uploaded by tour organizer. We cought only small fish size 10cm which you should normally return to the sea, but I guess they were good for frying at the end. It was even so little fish that our entire group decided to go home earlier. The type of fish is that you catch from a beach with piece of bread. It is simply too expensive for what you get, total waste of money. Our tour guide was very nice, professional and very helpful, was doing everything to help us, thanks to him.

Had a great time, thanks to the guides. Caught some fish, had some laughs and got to keep some fish for dinner that night. Worth getting in.

Excellent day out fishing in the sea on traditional Thai boat while enjoying nice sea breeze on the water and escaping day heat. Tour went well from begging till the end. Fish was biting most time. Not too big fish, but it was plenty for a meal which was cooked on board. Not only fish we caught but prawns, chicken, salad, fried rice.

Nothing memorable a complete waste of time and money they wanted to keep any fish caught( not many anyway ) even when too small to be worth keeping size of a goldfish! Do not waste your money!

It was ok... Well organized and good food however fishing was quite poor, only bait provided was small pieces of squid no opportunity to use anything else. Only spent 2-3 hours fishing on a fishing day trip.

That was a great time! Our guides took us straight to the fish and I caught 10 by myself! My friends had fun & we made new friends on the way!

Falsely advertised. Spent most of time “fishing???” for bait! Discovered on the boat we had been charged almost double what another couple was charged. We were also told on the morning of the trip we had to pay another 300 baht each for transport. I threatened to cancel if that was the case. I wish I had cancelled however the extra charge was waived.

Entirely inaccurate description. No rods for larger fish, only caught the same tiny species . No wine. No bbq (fried meal). No trawling out the back of the boat. Nice crew and tasty food, but agent needs to update misleading description.

This fishing trip is not a honest trip. It is by design to take your money. They have no intention of actually trying to catch decent fish. If you want to target small fish tank size fish then this would work. It was laughable.

It was a great day. The fish were al little bit small but we had a blast on the boat. The skipper and deckhand were friendly en knew what they were doing. The food was good and the swimming was nice. My friends are not fisherman so the small fish were great for them. When you are more expierenced in fishing it can be a little bit disappointing. But it was a fun day.

A brilliant day on the water Caught loads of fish which the skipper cooked up for lunch and were delicious Also a selection of rice ,chicken,prawns,potatoes and fresh fruit and watermelon Skipper and deckhand were very knowledgeable and made sure everyone knew what they were doing and enjoying themselves Also cold water and soft drinks available throughout the day

Everything was excellent, fishing, food, atmosphere. Great thanks to both crew members, captain and fisherman, they were great! We had best fishing day ever. Would recommend this to anyone.

My husband is a fly fisherman back home and he was keen to come fishing while we were away. This trip was brilliant and the guys looked after everyone. It was a brilliant day and we caught around 30-40 I think fish! We had a bbq lunch with what we caught which was beautiful. Also as chance to stop off for a dip.

Not a bad day out. Would be great though if we all could of fished live bait. Instead of the operators hooking massive fish and then hand over the rod so we can wind them in. Where’s the fun in that. Everyone was catching tiny fish on squid. They were nearly the same size as the bait. Lunch was brilliant. Maybe I’m just use the Australian charters.

The service was really good, the trip was awesome, we had big fishes. A private group that had the fun of their lives. Will Do it again for sure! I recommend it to all of you!

I am a 19 year old sport fisherman, on holiday with family and have been on the excursion alone. Very nice guidance and felt really good immediately! Everything was possible even through the heavy rains we stayed dry! Was a very nice day and also nice catches made.

It wasn't what real anglers understand fishing to be. No live baits as promised on the website. Ancient fishing equipment with broken lines. They arrived half an hour late but still drove back on time.

The tour was great, the sea was unfortunately very choppy, but tablets against seasickness were given out beforehand. The crew was helpful and even a layman would be able to fish. Unfortunately we only caught small fish... The food was actually prepared on board and tasted good.

Great experience with beautiful weather. Picked up on time from the hotel in the morning and left for the sea immediately upon arrival. We fished in different places. If we didn't catch anything for a while, we went to another spot. The fish we caught was prepared on board by the crew and that was our lunch. There was also time for a dip in the warm sea water. Delicious! Highly recommended. A real great day!

There was no bbq. We had swimming and snorkeling gear with us but not the rest. So most votes do not apply a swim/snorkel moment. Water was certainly not crystal clear as described.

Captain Yao and the staff on board are very professional, perfect assistance and caring for all the crew members. Some of them called other ships to be transferred back to shore early, but paid additional transportation fees. The fishing in the morning will be processed after lunch, unfortunately there are not many highlights in the cooking technique, just simple frying, and a little sad about fresh fish. Afternoon fishing catches, if you can handle after returning to the harbor, such as BBQ activities, will feel more perfect, rather than feeling the fishing catches will be confiscated.

Small fish, incredibly sad to witness the treatment of fish and spruce. The hook was nailed out of the mouth, and the fish were placed in a bucket to die slowly. Why expose the fish to this when you can easily break their neck?!

Old gear and take you fishing out to sea and stand still waiting for it to sink not all rods have a good answer... If I knew I'd bring my cane that was definitely better The fish are there but the rods are worth nothing I thought we'd be trawling, but no
