If you have absolutely nothing else to do in Koh Samui, I still wouldn’t recommend this tour. We booked based on the reviews, but we honestly feel the people who wrote them must have been on a completely different tour. We even questioned whether the reviews actually relate to what we booked. This was the most boring thing I’ve done in Thailand. We were picked up at 8:30am and then spent time collecting eight other people. There were 10 of us in total, all bouncing around in the back of a truck for around 5 hours the full trip was 8 hours. The first two stops, Wat Plai Laem and the Big Buddha, are worth visiting, but they are very easily accessible on your own. When we arrived, we realised there were four more trucks full of people on the same tour. You only sit on the roof of the vehicle for around 20 minutes out of the full eight hours. Which we was looking forward to the most. So disappointing. After more driving, we finally got to sit on the roof, which was enjoyable but very short and nothing like the pictures suggest. We then drove for about an hour to another Buddha statue high up in Koh Samui. This site was neglected and damaged, which was embarrassing considering it’s included on the tour. The Magic Garden was another underwhelming stop. It was extremely overcrowded, with people climbing on everything, making it difficult to appreciate anything properly. After this, we were taken for a buffet lunch. The food was barely warm, bland, and came with a single bottle of water. The next stop wasn’t listed on the itinerary at all – a coconut workshop. The guide spoke briefly about coconuts and their uses, then we were ushered straight into a gift shop to buy things. At this point, we noticed several people exchanging looks as if to say, “Is this it?” We considered getting a taxi back to our accommodation, but the price was too high. One family actually left the tour at this point as they was so disappointed. The waterfall was next. We came prepared to swim, as did others, but because so many trucks arrived at the same time it was overcrowded. There were no proper facilities to change or dry off, and swimming would have been with a full audience. Not a single person from our group went into the water. Next was another shrine. I’m not sure why this is called a safari when there are no animals involved – just statues and shrines. By this point, we were completely mentally done. After being in the back of a truck for five to six hours, we just wanted the day to end. While the location was nice, it’s free to visit and easily reachable on your own. The final stop was a beach with rocks that supposedly resemble male and female reproductive organs, which felt like absolute nonsense. Once back in the truck, the drivers came around with a tip box. While I’m not against tipping, pressuring people like this is unfair. Overall, this trip lasted eight hours, and at least five of those were spent being bounced around in the back of an overcrowded 4x4. It was boring, uncomfortable, and nothing about it was fun. I will be making a formal complaint to the company, as I don’t feel the reviews and pictures accurately represent this activity and believe it has been falsely advertised. This is not a safari — it’s an overpriced taxi service.
We had the best experience with major safari. The tour guide was fantastic and so was our driver. They were so helpful and informative. Loved our trip, seeing the temples and elephants Would definitely book with this company again
This tour was amazing. We had a private tour, and the driver was so nice and respectful. I will talk about what we did and our experience. Firstly, from our hotel, we travelled to a temple that consisted of a statue of many Gods, including Buddha. It was a spectacular experience. However, it seemed that the river had overflowed and had flooded parts of the temple. We then travelled to another Buddha Statue. The shops that were around the temple had such a nice variety of items, such as clothes, hats, and jewelry. The next destination was the Grandmother and Grandfather rocks. It was situated near a rocky beach. It was a perfect place to take many pictures. This was one of the highlights of the journey due to the food stalls around the rocks. There was a wide variety of fruits such as mangoes, watermelon, jackfruits, and bananas. Since we had a private tour, we had to get our own lunch from a restaurant, and this wasn't included in the tour. After lunch, we went to see the Na Muang Waterfall. We were able to swim and trek around the waterfall, which was a great experience. This place was also an amazing place to take many pictures. Lastly, we travelled up a mountain to the highest point in Ko Samui. The views were extraordinary. There was a temple at the top overlooking Ko Samui, and this was an amazing ending to the tour. Overall, I definitely recommend this tour as people around us were amazing and created a positive environment. The views and experience as a whole were worth it. Therefore, when coming to Ko Samui, this tour should definitely be on your list, as the tour takes you around Ko Samui.
The tour guide showed up after we walked around the first tour site. At other sites she didn’t give a Lot of description about the sites. Also, I thought we were going to visit a rubber plantation.
The temples are great to wonder round, then up into the hills for some incredible views and fast driving through them, whilst you are strapped to the top 🤣 lunch was tasty, and the waterfall is ok, but you don't really get enough time there. There are some other bits along the way that break up the journey. This a great tour
Plus: + All of the spots were beautiful, and worth seeing + The drives between were an adventure for sure + Sitting in the top seats was amazing + The tour guides were knowledgeable and nice people + Pickup and dropoff worked perfectly and on time + The island is amazing, and we saw parts that are very hard to reach + Lunch was good and the view was great Minus: - The stops were rather short (due to limited overall time, and the number of stops in the tour) - The group size was rather big (30-50 people in our group), so the attractions were swarmed just by our group alone - The descriptions were rather short and hard to understand (acustically and languagewise), for more detailed information you had to ask the guide directly - Many tourists did not show any respect for the cultural heritage shown on the tour (climbing on statues, ignoring the "keep silent" signs, entering temples in bikinis etc) Overall, the tour was very nice, the nature and views were fabulous and would have been impossible to reach for us otherwise, the only downside really was the mass of tourists.
Fantastic experience, full day tour and saw all the highlights. Driver, guides and staff were fantastic. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
We had a great day out on this trip, visiting lots of memorable places. Our guide was very knowledgable and engaging. She was very enthusiastic
A memorable experience. Trip was well organized and the tour operator were well informed and very friendly. Thankfully the weather was on our side that day and we could enjoy traveling through the forest visiting various locations across the island. Very well priced and enjoyable trip. Only suggestion would be to improve the quality of lunch rest every thing else was great.
We did this trip on our first day in Koh Samui. It was so fun, the team are super friendly and very thoughtful. Our 4 year old LOVED IT. It was a fantastic day seeing the temples, swimming in a lake and whizzing through the spectacular scenery. Highly recommend.
Both leaders were great and very informative. Lots of information along the way and very relaxed way to see parts of the island
This is a must have if you visit Koh Samui. Amazing tour with excellent, funny tour guides. Experience is unforgettable, all the places were beautiful. Luch and restaurant was great with very nice view. Actually.this was not a 4-5 but rather a 7-8 hours tour but each minute worth it. Absolutely recommend to everyone.
I think our tour was made extra special by our driver Bobby car number 9. So funny always playing pranks on us making us laugh most of the day. Rain did block our view when we go to the view point but it was still a good day out.
Excellent tour, good day out, good variety of places to visit. You are in a covered 4wd with a seat on the roof for when you get off road. It's a great thing to do. Tour guides and staff are excellent, lunch was good, and plenty of water available, 7 hour trip but you get some gtrat views and to see half the island.
We enjoyed the experience and the sights we were taken to, however, our guide was extremely difficult to understand. We also weren’t given much in the way of the history of what we were seeing.
Our tour Yu was really helpful and funny too, we enjoyed every part of our tour. We went to all the temples. Took good pictures. Thank you
Had a great day out amazing veiws visiting lots of different parts of the island s temples pitty waterfall had no water 🤔 (cant blame the company for nature throwing a curveball 😉) coconut factory visit was interesting nice to see local culture aswell as the history of the island food was lovely aswell as the stunning veiws eating ad relaxing well worth it .
Great day out, so exciting, lasted about 7 hours, such great value for money, saw loads of things plus had a nice lunch - if you are in the area, book it, don’t worry if you are of a mature age, it’s like being a kid again!
We booked the trip to see some of the exciting places on the island and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. An exciting ride through jungle and un made roads to the highest part of Koh Samui. You even get the chance to sit on top of the roof for some of the ride. Very exciting. If you are very elderly or very unfit with back problems maybe this isn't the trip for you. We are both in ours 60's and we had a great time. Lots of interesting stops and the staff were super.
We really enjoying the ride through the jungle. Was really good sitting on top of the care while driving. Really recommend it
Very good value for money, got to see some of the most beautiful places in Koh Samui. Tour guide Jackie was great. Would highly recommend
The day was one of the best I’ve ever had. The driver “Eddie” was on top of his game. Was able to make changes in our tour on the fly. Extremely fun in the crow’s nest, over the cab. Was like a roller coaster. Would recommend for all.
It was something special. I thought it would be a light tour, going around, and visiting places but wow, that was an adventure to sit down on the car roof go up to the mountain, see jungles, see jungle animals (big big spiders) and so on. I really liked it. Our guide was very funny, and friendly but did not told much about the places and the English was hard to understand but still, good humor won our hearts!
In September unfortunately the waterfall is short of water, it rather looks like a muddy puddle (a real pity for our children as this was what they were looking most forward to). All the other attractions really paid off!! 2 bottles of water during the day was fine as it was cloudy, with warmer weather it'd be quite little.
For the money this trip is we worth it. A full day in a 4 x 4 visiting various monuments and going up in the mountains. The only thing I didn’t like was the waterfall stop where you see elephants being used to ride and chained up 😞 this broke my heart! The last stop of the rocks is a bit deflating not that I want to see ricks that look like genitalia but you do need some imagination 😂. The best part for that stop is the coconut ice cream yummy! The guide FIFA was really good and the lunch was the best trip lunch lunch I’ve had it was really good and very tasty.
A great fun experience, made even better by the very funny driver who went out of his way to have fun with his guests. Great buffet lunch and plenty of cold water provided. An excellent day out.
The temples were good and enjoyable, however, we were taken to a waterfall which had elephant trekking site in the car park. The elephants were shaking and chained up, which was blatant animal cruelty and distressing to view. Had we know this, we would not of booked. There are other companies that offer similar tours that do not go past this waterfall.
We had the most fab time .... I honestly can't recommend Koh Samui Jungle Safari Tour, enough. My partner is scared of heights, and they calmed him down, made the whole day fun and even got him to absail! ***** 5 stars and more <3
Sitting on top of the Jeep while riding to the top of the mountain. It was awesome! Our guide is funny. It can get really hot so I would suggest doing this tour when the weather is not as hot.
This is a great way to see the island major tourism spots in a day. You don’t get a long time at each location, but enough to experience them and take your photos. If you want to spend more time in one place you can always revisit another day. The jeep is a great way to get around, it’s bumpy and fast at times and you do need to be able to withstand the bumpy bits. Some of the locations have steps, the waterfall requires you to walk on rocky ground, but most should manage all these, but if you have mobility issues this isn’t the tour for you. Our guide spoke some English but we didn’t get much by way of narrative at each location, it’s certainly left to you to explore and research for yourself. Prompt pick up, nice lunch and plenty of cold water on board, which you’ll need as it’s hot and a long day. Wholeheartedly recommend, we loved it.
Well organized seeing culture, religion and nature. The swim in the waterfall, views, lunch were excellent. The tour guide fun and informative. And a good van driver for sure.
Enjoyed the personal attention of the crew to each one of us. Nice exciting 4 wheel drive into the interior of the island.
It was an amazing day... Well worth it The guide was lovely and was fun. All 3 drivers made it exciting. We were very fortunate to have a great group of people in our truck. Always helps!
Trip was a nice way to get around the island to see the famous sites. Lunch was in a pretty location, food satisfactory. Overall enjoyed the trip, however if you are looking for a guide to give you info about every site this is not the tour for you. Trip was much more of an easy way to get around than a true informative tour.
Fifa was amazing throughout the whole tour! Very organised & communicated the plan really well. There was a lot of stops of the trip, which were quiet quick, but actually great for packing in a full day of site seeing! No touristy pushy sales at all, just a great day Driving in the big van was so fun & exhilarating, you even get to ride on the top, which was super cool Would highly recommend, an action packed whole day! The waterfall is also amazing, so refreshing Don’t miss out on the coconut ice cream, honestly the best & vegan!!
A fantastic tour of temples, jungle, an amazing waterfall and more. An amazing overview of the island. We basically had a private tour with our three girls. This tour was beyond expectations! Our guide Pong was very knowledgeable, extremely nice and our driver was very experienced as well and fun. We were very confident that we were in good hands. The experience was amazing and although not the main purpose of the tour, lunch was also delicious! I strongly recommend for any couple, family or small group of friends! A must when visiting Koh Samui (we took the tour option B)
This tour is a great way to see a lot of sights in one go, and while you make a lot of stops, we never felt like we didn't have enough time at any one of them. Some destinations were definitely more interesting than others, but the ones we weren't as excited about were accordingly shorter stops, so we never felt bored. The first part of the tour is pretty easy riding as far as the tour trucks go, but once you start your way up the the Secret Garden and the mountaintop lookout, things start to get more bumpy. That's what makes it fun, though! Riding on the roof of the truck was by far our favorite part, but even bumping around in the back was fun too. There are 10 people per group, all of which easily fit into the bed of the pickup truck (the trucks have been retrofitted with a step-up, benches, seat belts, and a canopy to shelter you from the rain... which we needed at a couple points!). Really glad we took this tour, and would recommend for anyone wanting something slightly more adventurous than just getting driven around the island in a van.
Extremely friendly and informative tour guides, along with great humour. We got to see the main sights of Koh Samui which was awesome. Time was a bit rushed at each stop, however this is understood due to seeing so many places in limited time. Some sensational views during the day. Highly recommend.
TK the tourist guide and the driver, Arm, were a very good tandem. The tour was amazing courtesy of these two hospitable and friendly gentlemen. Thanking them profusely because they went all the way to look for the lost sunglasses of my companion, which they found and shipped it for free to Bangkok.
Beware if you are over 40 or if stairs are a problem. While the tour did go to the places it said it would, nowhere was there a warning stating that 50% of the tour would be bouncing through 3 foot deep ruts and hanging on for dear life. Nor does it say anywhere that you had to be able to step up 3 feet to be able to get into the jeep itself. There was no stepstool which would’ve made it possible for me to get in the back. I had to sit in the front in the air-conditioned cab which I’m not complaining about except for the fact that the person I was traveling with was stuck in the bag hanging on for dear life as her back spasmed while bouncing and rocking back-and-forth. She does not have a bad back but her back started spasming. She was screaming in pain by the time we stopped at a lookout point. We were traveling with two other jeeps and an able-bodied young tour guide was sitting in the front with the driver in one of the jeeps. My friend had to yell and be adamant that she was not going to get back in to the back of the jeep that she had to be in the front and that the able-bodied young tour person needed to sit in the back at least until we got down off the mountain. It got to be quite an ugly scene because the tour drivers and guides were inflexible and I accommodating. They said they could not help her. She said all I needed was to get into the front until we were down to the bottom and it took a whole lot of yelling for them to allow her to do that. She told me later she would’ve walked down that mountain rather than gotten in the back. When we stopped for lunch, the car that she was in the front seat of left early without her (we believe it was on purpose) She was furious and frustrated and was forced to get in the back since they had no step stool. We considered getting a taxi and leaving the tour. The Magic Garden was about 50 steps down (no hand rail) in a ravine. It was actually the reason I booked this particular tour. Because it was going to the magic garden. Again nowhere did it say that the magic garden was not accessible for those with mobility issues. The waterfall also has many steps leading down. The only warning given was that the big Buddha had many steps leading up. I accepted the fact that I was not going to walk up and I knew that I ahead of time. These other problems only become evident as we pulled up to a place. The description of the tour is severely lacking in its description of the activity level needed to enjoy this tour. It’s for under 40 years olds. Not for 60+. It was a 5 hour tour which lasted well over 7 hours in stifling heat and humidity the only water we got was one bottle at a restaurant with an tasteless lunch. And just to top things off we were driven right past our hotel by 15 minutes to let someone else off before us. My friend is absolutely LIVID right now. And she has every right to be. The tour is supposed to be five hours and it was well over seven. We were given one bottle of water. She was bounced around from one side to the other and heat and humidity. The warning does say no one with back problems but she did NOT have back problems BEFORE this trip. Now she does. It also says no one with wheelchair accessibility, but I am not wheelchair-bound. I simply have trouble with stairs. The description of the trip also does not mention the fact that you will be bounced from here to eternity for over an hour. The mention of four wheeling does not mean that kind of extreme. Four wheeling simply means that you are not on a paved road. Also the driver didn’t know where he was going and had to call for directions or follow one of the other jeeps. Simply put: do not book this tour. The only thing we saw that an air conditioned van couldn’t get to is a mountain top view. Not worth the pain, aggravation, and abuse we just went through.
We had excellent service from Jiggy from the very start. The guide and driver were excellent and good fun and each stop was just the right amount of time. Would highly recommend this trip, great way to see many of the popular sites of Samui.
Good Guide. Food was good. Toilets need attention. Tried to give us a good time and went the extra length. Briefing was general to good, depending on the questions asked.
A great day out. The Jeep was fun and we managed to see lots of Koh Samui’s ‘must see’ sights. Well organised, even though we were cut slightly short by torrential rain. Food and view from the jungle restaurant were both amazing.
We had a fantastic day with Jeab and April as our guides. This tour is just what we were looking for: the major sights on the island including lunch and hotel pick up and drop off. My husband and kids enjoyed sitting up at the top of the 4 x 4 when we went off-roading. Although it is listed as a half-day tour, from 9 am - 1 pm, the tour at 3:30 pm for us today.
Really enjoyable and there was lots of information with the opportunity to ask questions. The driver was really entertaining and there was never a dull moment.
A slightly difficult review. We were picked up neatly at our hotel. Very fine. After that, we picked up 2 other couples at their hotels. The guide is super friendly and helpful. Ultimately, it turns out there are 2 guides for 5 cars with about 10 people each. The tour had a very Chinese tourist content. With a megaphone, we were constantly directed to get out, walk around, and take photos. Before you knew it, we had to go back. The megaphone was constantly on. This took away the absorption of culture and atmosphere from me. Even at (the good) lunch, they were calling out over the megaphone what you could pick up... I asked Mrs. [teacher/person] to be quiet for a while... that got a little better afterwards. Information is given in terms of content, but it is a bit superficial. The tour itself shows you all the highlights of the island. The highlights are actually too small for the big tourism. The tour operator can't do anything about that. The driver... a pretty aggressive driving style in the morning. 1x seriously had a near accident. He had to brake hard and swerve to avoid hitting a stationary car. And 1 time driving in reverse almost hit a few tourists. Smiddafs went more quietly. Conclusion is fun to do! You see everything! It is a long day. Qualitatively in content it can be better
It was a beautiful tour over the island of Koh Samui. We visited a waterfall, various Buddha statues and temples. We went to the highest mountain on the island and got a really delicious lunch. Our sixteen-year-old daughter was also super enthusiastic.
Very fun experience, great staff who are very nice. You get a lot for your money! You get to see a lot of the island, many temples and attractions. Long trip, be ready by 4pm
Were gone with two toddlers of 1.5 and 3 years, the wife and a couple of friends with a child of 1.5 years and they had a party. The small stops made it easy for the kids to go see culture without having to hear a lot about things and stress. They could sleep on an in between stop, which was very nice. Cute and friendly guides, who were very helpful, so great recommendation from here.
