Koh Samui 2-dive Trip To Sail Rock For Certified Divers

Transportation both there and back was seamless. Fischer, our dive guide was exceptional. He was super attentive, very informative and took great video of us that he shared before we even got back to shore. The dive trip was my husband’s favorite thing that we did on this vacation. Thank you Fischer and Discovery dive for a phenomenal day!

Very good dive company with well organised team. The dive instructor we have are Man and Ben and they are wonderful instructors with fun. I didn't give five star as the meal provided are very primitive, and below standard. The drink are also limited. The BCDs are also old but still functional. I have 5 days 10 dives and everyday has different BCD. The dive tour are well organised and the softwares are excellent but the hardware are very average. I will go back to dive with them next year and wish they can invest more on the hardwares.

I recently did the 2 dive trip to sail rock, I can’t recommend it enough. My guide Pierre was amazing and super nice, he made the trip feel safe and also very very fun, there was a good briefing at the start and time to get to know your group you are diving with. The lunch on board the boat in between dives was fab. 10/10 !

If I could give this place double the stars, I would. I hadn’t logged a dive in maybe 8 years before today and I was a little anxious, especially with the chop at sail rock. He calmly talked me out of my worries and made me feel so comfortable. We did a simple refresher then had two great dives saw barracuda, angelfish with purple stripes and many I don’t know. It was fascinating and good to be down again thanks to the great assistance from Discovery!

Top pro and safe dive trip to Sail Rock. This was my teenage daughters first real dive after OW certification. She was a bit nervous and very excited. Due to the very pro and experienced dive master, Zoe, she had the best dive. Everything was so well organized and safe. As an experienced diver I was very impressed . Good gear, fast boat, nice lunch and great five site. Zoe even provided us with a bunch of complimentary great photos and videos. I liked how there was a max of 4 divers per divemaster, and the teams were made up with divers a dame experience level. It even seemed like Discovery Divers succeeded in providing the divers with dive masters of same first or second language. Would recommend everyone, experienced and beginners to go on a trip with Discovery Divers.

Thank you Erik for a once in a lifetime experience! The crew, boat, food and diving were out of this world. This crew did our group of 24 of all ages and varying levels of experience including some of our first deep-water dives ever! This was my 2nd trip to Sail Rock with the Discovery dive centre team , both experiences were exceptional from start to finish , From the welcome , briefings , the friendly team and the boat crews , all made this such a memorable experience and so much fun , I had the pleasure of Cyril as my guide and instructor, I dived with Cyril for 3 days , I cannot explain how much passion and energy he had for every dive that definitely relaxed and improved my own Dive experience, he passed on tips and gave awesome feedback to improve my diving knowledge and skills , the whole experience with the Discovery dive centre was 1st class and well organised and professional team , highly recommended

We had a group of 20 people with varying levels of experience. We also had 6 kids between ages 10 and 15 finishing their open water course. The staff at Discovery was amazing in accommodating all of our needs ( over 2 days) all while providing an amazing and safe dive experience for all. The boats are in great shape, well stocked, and the lunches are great too! Transport is normally provided from your hotel which is great as well! We have dove with Discovery several times now and will keep coming back!

We had the best experience with Discovery Dive Centre! We did two private charters for our large group to Koh Tao and then Sail Rock. The diving was amazing! Sail Rock is one of the most unique dive sites I have been to. Discover Dive Centre was very accommodating for our large group comprised of experience divers, new divers doing certification dives, and snorkelers. Everyone had fun. The group was made up of 10 kids and 10 adults. We all fit comfortably on one boat. The staff was fun, helpful, and very experienced. We will definitely be back!

Great dive centre. All staff really friendly and good dive briefings. Visibility on the day was not the best but can't blame the centre for nature 😀 but diving was still very good. Highly recomended, especially my dive guide - Nai..😂

orginally planned one day of dive to sailrock. it was so good and decided to book another the next day to shark island and Chumphon Pinnacle. received excellent treatment and hospitality and the dive guides were all really friendly. special shout out to Phisher who gave took time to explain the sites, checked our equipment thoroughly and watched us throughout the dives. the videos he took were excellent as well. will definitely engage them if i go back to KSM but then unlikely gg back to KSM.

Overall, I had a good experience with Discovery Divers. The crew was friendly, helpful and genuinely tried to give us a great day on the water. Unfortunately, due to poor visibility we couldn’t dive at Sail Rock, but the alternative sites were still enjoyable. The main issue for me, however, was my dive master. She was friendly, but despite my limited experience of 10 dives, she made me feel more like a student than a certified diver. I appreciate constructive feedback and I know I’m still learning, but being constantly corrected - even about my breathing, my mask amongst other things - left me feeling insecure about my skills. I’ve never been criticised that much in such a short time. So while the trip itself was good, what stayed with me most was the way the dive master spoke to me throughout the day.

As an experienced diver of more than 20 years, 500+ dives and in many places over the world, I use reviews moreso to rate the operator rather than the dive sites. I give honest reviews and that includes the good points and bad. Unfortunately my experience this week confirms my thoughts of staying away from the resort dive operators. Firstly, diving is like golf, we have good days and bad days, thats the luck of the draw, i have had some terrible dives but this dive was by far the worst ever at Sail Rock Koh Samui. Having paid more than AUD$650 for two divers for double dive, Despite the low vis of less than 7 mtrs, due to excessive algae, the dive guide was unable to find the actual dive site and costing 100bar in air, having to surface to find the rock just 15 mtrs to the south yet taking us to 22 mtrs depth and swimming in circles before accepting she was lost. While the operation runs well, the boat was in my opinion way over crowded with first time divers, experienced divers and try-divers. 25-30 passengers, i counted 9 vessels at the dive site, each around the same size, on the same small dive site. So 225- 270 divers on one small rock simultaneously. Needless to say it was an absolute cluster!! We sat the second dive out, was not worth the stress and not why we dive. Nothing in the description refers to the 200+ divers on the one small rock, weather and tides clearly contribute to the low vis of less than 7 mtrs yet still go to the dive site. I feel this was more a financial decision by the operator than anything else with AUD$8000 per dive vessel, no alternative offered, no refund offered, yet staff knew the vis was very poor the previous day. On a positive, staff were terrific, friendly and helpful and attentive, albeit apologetic about the low vis, and crowded dive site, but this isnt their first time. Very disappointing, not recommended if you dive for the beauty, serenity and peacefulness because you wont get it here.

This company is so well organised and professional, and my instructor, Margaux, was exceptional. Very patient with all of us plus excellent knowledge of fish life. Kindly took some video clips on her Go Pro and on the way back to Samui composed a montage then transferred by Air Drop. Amazing huge schools of barracuda and big-eye trevally were one of many highlights. Merci Beaucoup Margaux & Discovery Dive Center. Has to be #1 in Samui!

Very good dive center. Definitely recommended to friends and families. Especially when diving with kids. Dive with my daughter for 2 days and she enjoyed every moment and her had her 12 years birthday on board on the day to dive in Sail Rock. All staff are very professional and take care details, from greeting in the morning when walk in to equipment set up and assistance in and out of water. To washing and store our gear. Much appreciated to both dive instructors and all crew members. Highly recommended.

I have just completed 2 successive days of 2 diving trips with Discovery Divers in Koh Samui. Their overall organisation is of high standard ( incl. booking, briefings, equipment , boats) and the instructors are highly experienced and friendly, making the experience all the more safer and pleasant. I will use them again when next diving in Samui.

Went diving while on holidays as a certified dive and did a couple of fun dives at sail rock. The team were all super friendly and helpful.

Great two dive session with the team at Sail Rock. Even with a large group of divers on the boat the ratio of dive instructor to diver was excellent. Our dive instructor was very understanding and practical, with a high degree of sensibility to safety. Sail Rock is a solid 45mins sail from the dock, and the two dives, broken by a break for lunch were great. Visibility was excellent, a lot of shoals of fish around the rock, we saw a moray reel and many other types of fish. We were back on the dock by 2pm, so still had a large part of the day.

We did 2 days diving with Discovery Dive Centre, one day at Sail Rock and one day at Ko Tao. Sail Rock was the highlight, unbelievable excellent dives, however, the Ko Tao trip was brilliant too. The centre is extremely well run with very knowledgable experienced diving instructors. We can highly recommend.

We have had a great fun diving at Sail Rock. The dive masters are very professional, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to dive guide Phisher who took good care of my kids under water and took good pics and videos for us.

Look no further for a great dive centre. I did two days diving with Ben who was very professional with safety being a priority. Ben made the two days diving fun with so much to see. I’d definitely recommend this company because of the small dive groups and lovely dive boat.

The 2 dives at Sail Rock were the most fish I have ever seen. Dive master Ben who led our group of 4 was great. The rest of the crew were friendly and helpful too. Lunch was tasty. Highly recommend this company.

Such a memorable experience diving with our son Dylan at Sail Rock, one of the most beautiful dive sites in Thailand and a ehale shark often visit. Our instructor Pierre was a true pro, professional and patient with Dylan, and also with us as we refreshed our dive skills - we got our SSI AOW almost 19 years ago! We had 2 wonderful dives and saw shoals of Trevilly and Baracuda pass by. Fusilier, grouper, blue ring angelfish, babyish, queenfish and so much more. Dylan took to it like a fish to water and next trip we'll get him certified! The lunch was really tasty and all the crew were warm and chatted away to everyone. Thanks Pierre for the wonderful photos and memories!

A group of us (4 certified divers) went for the Sail Rock dive trip and it was great. Discovery Divers were very professional and friendly - special shoutout to our DM Mann! Definitely recommend.

Spent 1 day and 2 dives at Sail Rock. This was my second time with Discovery Dive Centre. The last time was 6 years ago at a different site. Bang was my dive instructor this time. He was professional and helped with my gear on and off the boat. The boat was a fast boat with 1 deck and 3 engines. There are 4 rows of tanks in the middle of the boat. Given the limited space the team is efficient and professional. York adapters and weights are provided. The boat ride took 1 hour to the dive site. The boat is tied off at the dive site. The waves can be choppy so please check the water conditions that day and take your seasick medicine before hand. Do recommend having a smaller breakfast. The underwater vis is about 10m with plenty of life. There was a good ratio of DM and divers. Overall a strong team of divers.

It was a fantastic experience to get back into diving in Thailand since my last dive in 2008. After researching several dive centers in Koh Samui, we chose Discovery Divers—and it turned out to be the best decision we made. Fantastic service! I booked last minute the night before and they were there to answer questions and check details, and to proactively recommend which trip would be best. Very organised outfit, great diving and safety. And the most enormous shoal of fish out at sail rock. I wish I had time for more.

Having not dived for 19yrs, I nervously decided to take the plunge and go for it again. I booked the 2 dive trip to sail rock which incorporated a refresher dive for obvious reasons. I was fortunate to be paired to with an instructor on a 1 to 1 basis. I found O'Too to be very positive and encouraging, his explanations were clear and concise, the reassurance he exudes allowed me to rediscover my old skills. This culminated in me probably having the best two dives ever in terms of quantity and variety of sealife. Sail rock in itself is great just for the features and the chimney. I would not hesitate to book again. With discovery diving. I found the whole team to be friendly and polite, and encouraging which lead to a great day. The ratio if instructors to clients was good. I would thoroughly recommend discovery diving.

My husband and I did this knowing that it was only his 4th real dive post certification. Deon was amazing, and really helped give him tips to help him get more comfortable during the dive! He was also SO helpful for me too as I wasn’t used the the choppiness at the surface and ended up getting motion sickness. When Deon took us through the dives, he was so patient and helpful in the water and we got to see some INCREDIBLE schools of fish in crazy numbers doing these beautiful formations in the water. At one point, a marlin swam by and the fish literally made the water vibrate which was such a cool experience. The visibility was okay but that’s just how it goes at Sail Rock, things change daily! Would highly recommend if you love diving as the site offers so many interesting marine life to look at!!

We had a really great experience with the Discovery Dive Centre. My husband and I are certified but hadn't dived for 4 years so we booked a refresher, which involved some basic skills as part of the first dive (easy to book online). Our instructor Dion was so great and made me feel really confident and capable. Sail rock had an amazing coral reef and lots of fish. The day we went had a strong current and was pretty wavey on the boat, so be sure to take sea sickness meds if you need them! I would 100% recommend!

This dive trip was super well organised and the crew and guides were great. I signed up online for the dive the night before the trip and the team emailed me to arrange pick-up. The driver showed up at the precise time indicated and the ride to the jetty was smooth despite the dreary weather. The ride to the site was rough but the dives were amazing - huge schools of fish, great guides, totally worth it.
