Average experience, no advice given with regards to how to snorkel if you have never done before. Limited views of coral and extremely average lunch provided if you were vegetarian plus it was all outside and not covered so flies everywhere Pig island was very touristy and crowded, filthy onsite toilets and not at all like it looked on the photos for advertising

Reviews
After reading some reviews we were a little unsure as to whether we should book this trip. However we are so glad that we did as it was a very good experience from start to finish with our tour guides Happy Samui. The staff on the boat were attentive, smiled throughout and were helpful, offering to take photographs and reassuring passengers who were somewhat anxious about travelling by boat. Our lunch was basic but tasty . The pigs seemed happy and content though appreciated us giving them some water, some were greedier than others and they appeared very relaxed around tourists, not in any distress. We took water for the pigs with us after reading other peoples reviews and glad that we did. Well worth the visit to this island, a lovely afternoon spent.
The "tour" was outsourced to Funny Day which we were avoiding from their other reviews. There was no real guide, just people to take you from placed to place, no information given, no description of what was happening, you just had to go with it. We were picked up with others quite early to go to one pier, waited an hour only to then be driven another hour to the complete other side of the island for our half day tour with people who were already there waiting with us from the beginning. One main staff member spoke English well enough to make jokes and generally tell us what was happening next. "This is Pig Island, we'll be here two hours then lunch". But the tour didn't run as per itinerary so we went and spent a boring 2 hours on Pig Island where you can't walk too far, just in a specific part of the island with pigs, and pig faeces. We could only kayak for 20 mins, not sure why. There was nothing to do. Then a bland lunch right before going 15 mins to another area to snorkel immediately after eating. Snorkelling was fine, there were some fish that came when fed. Then we went back. Trip was unnecessarily long and not very fulfilling.
Exactly as expected! Pig Island….well it’s a beautiful spot but what do pigs do? They s**t and p••s constantly, especially when the public are feeding them all day!! 🤣🤣 A complete circus and the stupid people are in the sea petting them swishing around in their sewage!! That aside, the tour staff were incredibly polite and accommodating, making sure everyone was looked after. Lunch was nice and plenty of it too. We had a short time kayaking which got us away from the pigs••t. Had to laugh as the majority seemed to enjoy this 🤣 Snorkelling was at 2nd stop and was only for 20 mins or so. The trip was described as a snorkelling trip so was a bit disappointed. Think carefully if you would like a “finer” day out to this beautiful area.
frecking aweome had the best time at pig island the guys were awesome lunch was amazing boat ride was awesome would highly reccomend
A great day out. A must do when visitin Koh Samui. The Captain and all his crew were professional, informative and on hand to help us on and off the speed boat. The fish at the coral reef were amazing. The lunch was delicious on Pig Island, especially the Thai Prawn Soup.
Would definitely recommend. We really enjoyed the trip to pig island and then the snorkelling. The tour guides were so much fun and really friendly.
We booked the trip the night before, since we were waiting to see if the weather would be good. There were several other tour operators that had a similar trip, but some didn't accept next day bookings, so I was glad to find this one. After booking, I went to bed, but unfortunately when I got up in the morning I found an email that said the trip was already full, so they wouldn't be able to take us. It would be nice if they updated the system so the number of tickets they're selling actually reflects the number of spots available, rather than letting people book when they're already full. I requested a refund for the tour that day, but didn't get a response. Sent another email the next week, still no response and no refund. Very disappointing.
I don't recommend this tour at all. The snorkeling portion lasts only 45 minutes and isn't worth the trip. The water is cloudy, you are snorkeling alongside 5-6 other tour boats and their snorkelers, and the guides on our boat fed the fish to get them to come out. Pig island is frankly depressing. While it's nice to swim in the shallow water right off the island, the beach is full of trash and the pigs root around in people's unattended belongings searching for food. I felt really bad for the pigs. I saw one eating a plastic ice cream wrapper that had been discarded on the beach. I just wanted the tour to end. The only part of the tour that I enjoyed was the lovely, simple meal provided at the dock.
I had half day in pig island or Koh Masum island,it was fantastic mood of island with a small baby and big pis on the beach.I had really enjoy with them and together with relaxing on the beach for hour. And also we moved to snorkeling from the part of island just depart from Koh mudsum only 10-15 mins by speedboat to enjoy and snorkel for a half an hour before we feel free to having a lunch with soft drinks. That's sound great to get in touch shortly during the day🏝️ We had been there by Naphat tour, they were take care of travelers and good service.we all together were happy ~
Had a fantastic time snorkelling amongst the fish on this day trip. Lunch was also very good. We were less excited about visiting Pig Island, as we come from a country where pigs are very common, and it was a bit smelly - but the snorkelling totally made up for this!
We had a great time. We spent 3 hours on Pig Island which included kayaking and a delicious lunch, and then were taken over for snorkelling. We were allotted 40 minutes which is plenty of time. There were loads of fish to see and the coral is amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The snorkeling area was great, an hour here was giod to see lots of fish. We then went to pig Island for 3 hours - the swimming here is not great as its to shallow. But there were many pigs and even 10 day old piglets (which you shouldn't touch) for all the photos you needed. The food we were served was v good and plenty of water given during the day!
Very beautiful and fun place to go. Only the tour management should improve a bit. Should have depart at 9am but the end depart at 10am. The tour guide very helpful and friendly. The snorkeling spot is good. The new batch of pigs on the island don’t go to the beach, so you won’t get the photos like how it was showed in the gallery. Morning Trip 08:30am – 09:00am Hotel pick up. 09:00am Take Speedboat from Tong Grood to Koh Tan (15 minutes). 09:45am Enjoy snorkeling for kayaking. 10:45am Travel to Pig Island for kayaking, swimming, or relaxing on the beach. 12:30pm Lunch at Pig Island. 02:30pm Back to Koh Samui. 02:45pm Back to the hotel by our transfer service.
A great day out to experience some of the islands in Samui. Great to see pigs have return to pig island there are now about 10. The crew worked hard and provided a really great meal and experience
So much fun! The crew was extremely generous and knowledgeable. I wish I could have tipped them more but I didn’t have enough cash. I would def recommend!
The pickup was on time. First, guests were picked up by air-conditioned van from various stations in the nearby area at the hotel. After that we were taken to a pier. All guests, including guests who had booked another trip, were gathered there. After a waiting time of about 30 -45 minutes, the guests, i.e. us who had the trip to Pig Island, were transported to a Toyota Pick UP truck. Until then everything is okay, but the journey on the PickUP truck takes a whole hour, whereas the way should actually only be 15min away by car. Arriving at the pier we continued with the speedboat, which was designed for max 10-20 people. It was not a relaxed ride, more the feeling of a fast taxi, but still ok for us. Once on Pig Island, numerous tourists walked around. Was that the pigs? A desert island or insider tip?! = misrepresentation. After a bit of pig watching and expensive coffee, which was good, we had about 11.30 the cold lunch and a plastic bottle of water. I didn't see Coke or Fanta. When we had filled our stomachs with rice and chicken we went to a spot in the sea. Close to the nearest island. There we finally went into the water and we were allowed to snorkel and see the parrots fish... Parrot fish? The water was murky and there was little to see of snorkeling and fish or coral. After a few minutes our snorkeling trip was disrupted by an Israeli jet ski group. I swam back to the boat and we all went back to the pier. This whole trip had taken max 3 hours with boat trip and stay in the water and on the island. Our return trip to our hotel was again done with the Toyota Pick Up Truck. Our assumption was confirmed, it was only 15 min drive.:-) unfortunately not recommended. Nevertheless 3 stars of courtesy
Well done from start to finish! Were picked up at the hotel and driven to the beach, where we were to take the boat from. Funny guide and helpful people! Lots of pigs to see on Pig Island, and lots of fish to see during snorkeling! Some also said they saw turtles!
Have undertaken the tour with KohTour and was a successful trip! Team was very eager to find Delphine! Included food was very good, snorkeling tour takes less than an hour and the pigs at the end are the highlight! Will recommend!
Was picked up by the hotel and drove a bit to the right harbor. The staff was incredibly friendly and seems genuinely concerned that we were going to have a nice trip! The food was good, the pigs were nice. Note - I would like to bring shoes that are waterproof because I needed to wash my birkenstock along the way. The pigs live on the island, and beech and piss in the sand. The four-year-old thought it was great, and the baby pigs were incredibly cute! Overall a great trip!
Vi ventede 2 timer og blev så 1 time i minibus for at blive kørt til et andet afgangsted. Griseøre er en turistfælde. Aldrig vil vi bruge denne tur udbyder igen.
Positive first. The guides were exceptionally nice and helpful, snorkeling a great experience. The variety of fish and the underwater rock world were very impressive. Unfortunately, this was only a very short section, the stay on Pig Island was in my opinion far too long, too touristy, to do the time allocation a little differently would be great. By speedboat you imagine a group of 10-15 people and not a giant speedboat with 60 people on board!!
Katastrophale Planung...
