This was such a fun day! I really liked the snorkeling even though visibility was low due to the recent rain. I still saw some cool fish. The pig island was so funny. The dinner was absolutely delicious. We had so much food. Boom was a great guide. She greeted us as soon as we got to the pier and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. She was very attentive and friendly.

To be honest, I am not sure about this tour. While they were very kind to have me as their only customer that day and they accommodated me well, my issue is more about the Pig Island visit. While the pigs seem to be looked after and are certainly fed well by all the tourists, I was concerned that the pigs had no water available for them. Like it was designed for the tourists to buy water to feed them from little water bottles. I raised this concern with my guide, and she sent a message to the owner, who acknowledged the concern, but I have no idea if anything was done with it. Other than that, the tour was okay. The reefs for snorkeling were the same as you would find in most countries, dying and grey :-(, but did see some fish. They provided water and the food at Pig Island was tasty and generous.
Very nice activity for pig/animal lovers. At the arrival at the pier we were met the other participants (just 2, so we were just 5 🙂) and by our guide who gave us nice, clean towels and water and explained us the program, we then took a long-tailed boat to reach the first stop: snorkeling (masks provided). Nice but not exceptional due to the visibility that was not optimal due to the weather conditions. After one hour we went to pig island: the island itself is beautiful but most of all: full of friendly pigs, from a few weeks old (cuuuute!) to big, old hags. People flocked to them and viceversa: they not they will get fresh water from visitors. It was really fun, also because we arrived quite early and the place wasn’t crowded. Lunch was simple but good. All on all it was fun and very well run by the tour operator. Nice touches: we were picked up at our resort by the tour operator himself (thanks Rob!), who also gave us good advice about restaurants, means of transportation and such; while we were on pig island the guide stayed were we left our stuff, enabling us to roam freely until lunch. Price was also lower than the competitors: definitely recommended.
The best we will come back again thank you so much tour explore
Naphat Tour Koh Samui - Half Day Snorkelling Itinerary. We booked this trip mainly for the visit to Pig Island. We were taken to Rap Island for snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. All equipment is provided within the price. The island has a bar but nothing else. Waters were too shallow for swimming or snorkelling and you were left here for 2 hours. Lunch was provided on Rap Island which was really tasty and plentiful. We then arrived at Pig Island and given around 30-40 minutes to see the pigs. You can provide feed for around 50 baht and water for around 20 baht. The pigs will take water from you and you’re given a little plate for the pellets. The younger pigs are very cute but the bigger ones will literally dig their teeth into a water bottle to take it from you, so if with children keep to the smaller pigs. The beach is lovely on Pig Island and water clean. We were then take to another snorkelling area in deep waters, you can jump off the front of the boat and ladders on the back to get back in. There is no coral and just a few fish to be seen. Again, mask and snorkel provided and they were immaculately clean. Overall a good day but could be shorter without being left on the beach for 2 hours. Food was amazing.
Very intimate group, we went to pig island, had a lovely lunch that was included. Hawa our guide was lovely too.
Had a great time got to see loads of beautiful fish while snorkelling and the pig island was great too we had a lovely guide that had lots of knowledge about the place and spoke great English I would book again
SCAM SCAM SCAM **SCAM ALERT!** Terrible experience! They crammed us like sardines—60+ (I’m NOT exaggerating) on this tiny boat, just to dump us into the most pathetic snorkeling spot you can imagine. Then, as if it couldn't get worse, they dragged us to this sad little island where the so-called "pigs" look like they’ve been inbred for generations. It’s a complete tourist trap. The food? I'd rather eat my shoe. We were so desperate to escape this poo-covered nightmare that we actually paid to get off the island early. And guess what? They keep you stranded there until after 6:30 PM! Three excruciating hours of your life that you'll never get back. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy wasting your time and money on a steaming pile of disappointment!
This excursion should have been cancelled for safety reasons. The first boat trip was terrifying, and all the passengers thought we would flip. They call this a snorkeling trip, yet do not even provide fins (flippers). In the afternoon trip the sea is too low to snorkel without kicking the coral. Pig Island is a gross tourist trap. There is feces everywhere. Including mouse’s feces in the food brought to me. The boat trip back was also scary. One of the men helping to get out boat out from pig island even said the me “don’t worry about me, worry about you”. I was so concerned we would flip in the wind going back. The guide ignored us the entire time. The way too and from the boat from the “pier” is steep and unsafe. Do not go on this tour.
I absolutely loved spending a few hours with the pigs, they are so cute! The lunch was yummy (but be prepared to fight off many flies). I wouldn't have high hopes for the snorkelling- the water was murky and there was high coral that could scratch you, that combo made me feel uncomfortable doing that part. As long as you come for the pigs you'll have a good time though! I still recommend.
This is a great half day trip, we were fortunate to be the only group to have booked so it was a private excursion for us. Would recommend taking this trip in the morning as it was quite quiet at the snorkelling site, so many fish to see, one of the party stayed on the long tail boat with a small child who fed the fish over the edge & it was amazing there were so many beautiful fish to see & the fish & coral for snorkelling are very good.. Pig Island is great, especially for children, the lunch on Pig Island was very good. All in all this is a great trip & would say it is a “must do” while in Koh Samui.
Great & comfortable experience. Price was great, and guide who accompanied us was great as well. Very friendly & helpful. It was also a very private experience since it was just 3 of us, which is always a plus.
I did this tour yesterday (26th of April) and didn't enjoy it one bit. I don't think these pigs are well cared for at all. One had an enormous tumour which was literally scraping the floor as he walked (see photo), pigs were fighting over the food that tourists paid to give them, the pigs and numerous dogs were desperately thirsty, and I noted as certain workers walked past the pigs they cowered or scarpered. The money paid by tourists is not going towards the welfare of these animals. I couldn't wait to get off the island and wish I could have taken all the animals with me. If you love animals then be prepared to not feel good about what you see.
The trip was 2x more expensive compared to trips which you can get from local people. This tour did not have transfer, the others do. Simply find accomondation or hotel nearby and ask there. There was no towel neither GoPro photo/video included nor provided. Do not book this one! The experience itself was great.
Lovely experience, super friendly guide , lots of local knowledge, helped us with getting a taxi. Island is very pretty and pigs and dogs are super cute ☺️ 🐖
The good part was that the tour operator managed to organise the transport for me from North part of Koh Samui. The snorkeling was also nice as I got to see lotd of fishes. The tour guide that was with us on the day barely spoke to us and didn't tell us anything about the places where we stoped. The boat ride was also very choppy and all of us got soaked before even going into water. The boat driver should be more careful instead of speeding. The pigs at the island were lovely and the island itself is great. The main issue is the upkeep, my understanding is that each visitor pays a maintenance admission but I don't think the money is being well spend and rather it's going to someone pocket. The tour guide at the end of the tour just left us and told us that our transport is coming. I think that was very unprofessional and she should of waited with us as the driver that come to drive us back was different driver and didn't speak English.
Was disappointed with the snorkelling as the water wasn’t clear where we stopped and there was some sharp coral.. not sure if this was a one off as they said they couldn’t stop where they usually do as the sea was too rough that day. Pig island however is well worth a visit just to see the pigs roaming the island and the food supplied whilst there was very tasty. The beaches were beautiful and clear waters so this made up for the snorkelling stop earlier. Be prepared for lots of tourists mind and it was really busy as multiple tours are there at the same time.
Really enjoyable day - so many pigs to see, pet and feed. Stop off for snorkelling was enjoyable but the highlight was being around so many pigs. You need to watch your feet and where you’re walking (only so that you don't bump into them!). Lunch was plentiful but average but that wasn’t why we went. The only downside of the trip was that we had to wade out into the sea to get into the boat and the sea floor was rocky. As a consequence, I cut and bruised my feet and really struggled to get aboard the boat. Fortunately we were able to use the jetty when we arrived back
Great experience in the traditional Thai long boat over to pig island!! Fun snorkelling and the island is beautiful, would go again
This trip was so so much fun. It was the perfect amount of time and our tour guide Boom was such an amazing, sweet, knowledgeable and funny guide. We had so much fun playing with the pigs, swimming and learning more about the history from Boom
The half-day tour to Pig Island was definitely one of the best things we did on our one week stay in Ko Samui! We had the boat to ourselves and we enjoyed the snorkeling and swimming, although there was almost no visibility in the water at this time of the year. We also really loved the vibe on Pig Island with the animals, walking around on the beach, swimming and sipping on coconut drinks & beers by the beach! Afterwards we enjoyed a real feast with loads of food and fruit while catching the sunset. Thank you so much, our tour guide Boom for making our trip very enjoyable and memorable! <3
More fun than I expected! Waters around Pig Island are lovely and shallow, and there was a pretty empty beach when we got there before it started to fill up later in the visit. Our guides were great, no complaints at all!
Nice guide and host. Beautiful island. Pigs were fun to see. It was my daughter's birthday and they brought a little cake for her to celebrate. Snorkeling site was little murky at low tide but had fun swimming and jumping off the long tail boat. Lunch was good, family style Thai dishes and a bar for cocktails. It was a great day for our family.
Unorganized, hardly no english. As good as no information from "guide"...throughout the whole trip. Snorkeling equipment Bad, some broken and old and hard rubber on some goggles. Life vests, old with horrible smell of foul and stinging sweat. The stop for snorkeling was way too short, by the time we got the equipment sprter out and fitted, the kids hab about another 5 min time :(((!!! I wasnt able to snorkel at all, cause in the end, nothing fotted. The "guide" was not helpfull at all and unfriendly on top. Said in a harsh way, well they fitted everybody elese... All in all never again Stilö in contact woth them to maybe get some money back
Pig island was GREAT! We had a wonderful guide who was very helpful and we were served lovely food. This is a must see experience! One of the best days out, especially for the kids as well, feeding the friendly pigs! Snorkeling was a disappointment for us. The water was not really clear that day and the fish and corals were nothing like what we experienced at Koh Lipe. But we had fun in the water and the highlight of the trip came after, when we went to Pig island. Would do it all again!
As soon as I booked I was notified that my trip that day was canceled due to weather, and Rob instead offered a free VIP upgrade to the next day, which was very kind. The boat was lovely, and the sea super blue. Loved snorkeling on the reefs, though it was a bit cloudy. Was disappointed and a little bit horrified by Pig Island. Our guide was very sweet but the beach consisted of very thirsty pigs, tourists chasing them with their cameras, and stray dogs who begged for food at the restaurant tables. There was lots of litter and because it was particularly hot that day, a stench of pig manure and urine from the overflowing bathrooms. Food was alright. Would have rather spent more time snorkeling and being educated on the marine wildlife. I hope they can sort out the overpopulation on Ko Mat Sum and clean it up, because it is a very beautiful island.
Very nice staff. Very nice experience. Pig island full of tourists but you can walk away and be in a more quiet area i. 5min walk
Food was not bad, the tour guide was very nice. She was very considerate and service-minded. I gave a 4 star review because the drink and ice-cream were pricey.
Rob & Tour Explore were fantastic. Rob made all the arrangements so easy and hassle free. He picked us up from our hotel, with a wonderful guide who took us to the island and snorkeling. We ended booking a few other things through Rob like fishing and the elephant spa, since our first interaction was so easy. If you're ever in Samui, I recommend just booking through Rob for any activities you want to do.
Highly recommend whole trip was amazing we had a great host named ice she was amazing the snorkeling was best in Thailand fish everywhere and pig island was a must
What an awesome day We went over on speedboat Such a great experience We had a group of over 20 people Beautiful place The pigs are great we even found some puppies on the island
Although overpriced, the tour does what it states, snorkeling around nice corals and spending a lot of time on the pig island. The boat engine kept breaking down between the islands.
Half a day was the perfect amount of time. Our guide gave us the option of more time snorkeling and less with the pigs. There is nothing much to do at pig island except for lunch and phots with the pigs. The 4 hours was the perfect amount of time
Had a great time on this tour, from the snorkelling off Koh Tan to the views from Koh Madsum and of course all the beautiful pigs!!! Our guide was super helpful and fun to be around! Full of laughs!!! Would definitely recommend bringing some extra large bottles of water for the pigs and the dogs on the island as it seems they are very thirsty (we did see them being given fresh water but maybe not enough) we ended up giving all our drinking water to the dogs and you could see how thankful they were!!! Don’t book a speedboats tour! This is the tour to do!!! Longtail boats just offer a whole better experience!
it was a good day out ! our host ICE made sure that we had an amazing time however the day snorkeling spot was a bit muddy and was very difficult to see inside .and also would have been perfect if there was a 2nd spot for snorkeling. rest all it was worth it .
Of the many tours that we did in Thailand, this one had the worst 'guiding' that we received (despite having the most straightforward itinerary!) As requested of us, we arrived at the meeting point around half an hour before our tour was due to begin. In total, there were 12 of us so we were told that we'd be split into two boats for the tour. This was absolutely fine as it's nice to not be cramped on a boat! My family were a group of 5 so we were directed towards one boat whilst the other people went on another one. The main tour guide informed us that she would be going with the other group whilst a different guide would come with us; however, she said they were both doing the same job and we could ask either of them any questions so that was fine. The main lady informed us that our guide was 'training', which I assumed meant that she was in training to be a guide for the company. Now, this is the part where we realised we may as well have just hired a longtail boat ourselves instead of paying for this 'tour'. From the second we got onto the boat, our 'guide' didn't speak to us. Not a single word. When we arrived at the snorkelling spot, she opened the box with the snorkles in it and that was that. We hopped into the sea and began snorkelling but had no indication of how long we'd spend there. The visibility wasn't great but we did see a stingray which was fun! After deciding ourselves that we'd spent enough time snorkelling, we got back into the boat for a short ride to Pig Island (again, sat in silence and the 'guide' had her back to us the entire time). Upon arrival here, a man tried to charge us an entrance fee to the island. I showed him our booking confirmation which proved that we'd already paid the entrance fee as part of the tour but he didn't seem to understand and our 'guide' stood back and did nothing. Thankfully, after 5-10 minutes of standing around, the other boat turned up and the main tour guide grouped us back together and took us to a table which we used as our base on the island. The experience on the island itself was reasonable. There were lots of pigs (including some piglets) and they seemed fairly content. It wasn't the cleanest of places and as far as ethical tourism goes, I wasn't entirely comfortable with how much plastic/rubbish was lying around and how the pig population could end up out of control if their breeding isn't controlled. I couldn't see any fresh water that they had access to and consequently, they were desperately drinking from the water bottles offered to them by tourists. After our lunch (which was tasty), we were told that we could feed the leftover fruit to the pigs, which they seemed to enjoy. At the end, we were told that all 12 of us would be going back on the same boat. It would've been helpful to have been told this earlier on as we would've taken all of our things off of our original boat (thankfully, the boat driver was kind enough to do this for us). There was obviously some confusion as our original driver met us in the middle of the sea and was expecting us to transfer back over to his boat. All in all, this was below average. Had we been with the main tour guide, we probably would have enjoyed it significantly more. I sincerely hope that our guide receives significantly more training in communicating with people because our experience was unacceptable (even if it were a language barrier issue, turning with your back to people and not even trying to engage with them isn't exactly a good standard to set for such a customer-oriented role!) As far as Pig Island goes, we love animals and enjoyed the experience, but also don't feel entirely comfortable that our money and involvement in the tour has contributed towards something where their welfare and general care for the environment possibly isn't a high priority (I hope I'm wrong about this and possibly could be).
Snorkelling was incredible! The reef is beautiful and very alive with marine life. Boom was a fantastic guide and we had a great time. Pig island was very odd.
This was a great day-trip experience from Koh Samui! Our guide Ann was so kind and made sure we never missed a great photo opportunity.
Fantastically organised from start to finish. The communication I had with them before was great, they helped with taxi transfer from my hotel and did the best to accommodate my gluten allergy for the lunch on the day. I was picked up on time, Boom the guide was great, welcomed us all and kept the group informed on the day. It was raining so the snorkelling wasn’t great, nobody’s fault, they tried two spots for us. The lunch was super tasty! I have to mention that the pig island itself is very dirty and smelly, I think more should be done to keep it in a better condition. Best part of the day was a walk to the view point around the back of the island. Having said that, it was super sad to see how much plastic is washed ashore and it’s a shame to see nobody is tidying it up either. Would I recommend the tour, well, for this tour company - absolutely - would I go to pig island? Probably not. However if you do decide to go, definitely book with this tour operator.
We had a great time on this tour. Funny thing is we ended up on the wrong boat initially and the tour operator ( Boom) found us and picked us up while we were snorkeling and we then moved to the right boat. Boom was outstanding. The captains both worked for the same company so it was no big deal. Anyway.. we snorkeled at another location and there were so many fish to see. Amazing. We were then off to Pig Island for lunch and hanging out with the pigs. It was safe for all ages. The pigs don’t really bother you unless you are holding a plate of food for them.
Amazing Experience! very friendly staff, we had so much fish around us during the snorkeling it was mind blowing. Very clear water and a first time experience to see for us. The pig island is cool but very crowded and commercial, lot's of possibilities to have drinks and food and cuddle with the piggies.
Highly recommend this great tour! Boon was a wonderful host. Great snorkelling, fun time with our new piggie friends at Mudsum and delicious lunch. Thank you for having us!
This was one of the best days we have had on our trip! Our tour guide was great and very friendly, and we had a fantastic time snorkelling and got to see lots of fish and even a sting ray! We then went to pig island which was great and the pigs look really happy there, and the sunset was stunning. The day felt relaxed and not rushed at all. Would highly recommend this trip!
I am giving this a rating of 3/5 because it was not really worth the money or time. Pig island was very gross and run down, the snorkeling wasn’t really worth anything, terrible water and full of debris. Lastly, the staff was great to communicate with — it has nothing to do with workers, just not worth the money.
Boom was a perfect guide. She looked after us really well and was really informative about the story of Pig Island. She guided us to the viewpoint and was very caring about the animals on the island. A beautiful day
Fun day! Boat rides were not too long and pig island was stunning! Not much to see snorkeling though but fun to swim nonetheless
Our tour lady Boom is very friendly. I can see that she loves the pigs and dogs on the pig island. The animals on the island are happy living there. Boom did lots of pics for us with her Go Pro. And they sent to me the second day very efficent. We had a lovely time! Really recommended.
Really fun day! Well organised Would recommend. Friendly staff, nice food it’s a big thumbs up from me!
Everyone was friendly on this tour. From staff to other guests to pigs on the island. It's really a nice little trip to experience a snorkeling spot, Pig Island and a long tail boat. No bad surprise though in our case the sun was not cooperating.
Great staff and amazing experience. Definitely would recommend 👌. Snorkeling and pig island were on point
