Pros: - See many areas and tourist destinations of the island in a short time - Unlimited fold water - Riding on top of the truck was fun (although this was only ~5 minutes per person) Cons: - We were first to be picked up and last to be dropped off. 8:30 to 5:30 - The tour guide kept starting her discussion of the destination before people had even finished getting off their truck - Most of the tour was spent in the truck - I understand that the tour is not affiliated with the people exploiting elephants by the waterfall, but the tour guide should not be encouraging people to pay for a ride on the elephants
Really cool old army jeeps, better than landcruisers. Longer day than suggested which was good! Varied and massive fun. Lunch was the best on a trip so far.
The view was amazing and many activities were there to do. We make food for elephants and click some mesmerising pics. The elephant were also very friendly we also went waterfall the view was awesome. We are vegetarian so they provide us vegan food .The guide was also very friendly and give instruction very clearly.
We were picked up by a non-English speaker who did not introduce himself and made hotel staff walk us over to the vehicle. It wasn’t a jeep, the seats faced sideways and didn’t look at all like the picture on Viator. The vehicle emissions quickly nauseated me. The seatbelts were only for show and didn’t work. We were brought to a free beach with rock formations where we were asked to meet in 15 min, then the guide ended up back at the vehicle. Then to a number of free temples. (None of this was on the itinerary.) I could not get back in the vehicle bc of the emission fumes making me sick and having to sit in the hot sun with no cover driving. We ordered a cab out of visiting a free Chinese temple (not on the agenda). Mr. Ungs, Samui Safari, and another business name are all used for the same purpose, perhaps to confuse people? I assumed a refund would be no problem since we only went to 3 free places and I couldn’t continue bc of the fumes. Nope, they are fighting me on it so I had to dispute the charge. It was disappointing to waste a day on this with false advertising and in an unsafe vehicle. I would have been very sick and sunburnt by the end of the day if I stayed, and when hopping in the cab to leave, I realized the tour would have no AC for the entire 6 hours…in Thailand….in February. Give me a refund, and I’ll happily remove this review, thank you.
This is a worthwhile experience that offers MORE than is listed here! The guides are very informative and funny. The drivers are lovely and willing to help at all times. Worth the trip!
Overall this was a great day out. Pros: Staff were great, especially Jonny, the guide, who was funny. The lunch was v tasty with amazing view. A great way to see a lot of the island. The water fight was hilarious. Cons: Lunch was a bit rushed. Biggest disappointment was the waterfall - it had no water, the pool looked grim, and the decking around it was downright dangerous (one woman's leg slipped through a missing slat). When dry, they should consider alternative stop.
Exceptional day and loads of fun . Mad Max you are amazing and just made the tour as our guide so much more fun . Highly recommend
Riding on top of the jeep was crazy! We loved swimming in the waterfall, hanging out in the jungle near the waterfall was super relaxing. We really loved the secret garden and the water fight was a blast!!
This trip was perfect do explore the Island without the hustle to drive the steep roads by myself. The crew made sure we had a great time and I felt always safe while on the road. The Waterfight was a lot of fun. Highly recomend this trip.
What a blast crew was great fun and water fight was a blast. toured around Samui got to see most of it
We had only a few days on the island, the tour gave us an opportunity to see the major sights all at once, which was exactly what we wanted. The guide and drivers were very entertaining, informative and kind .
We had a great time on this trip. There were so many unexpected perks. Great tour guide with a sense of humor. It was the perfect blend of learning about Thai culture, history of the island, adventure, and exercise.
A lot of to explore, the guide was super fun, was fun to ride on top of the car , the water battle was amazing
We had a great time on this tour. It's very long and you see all the main tourist sites. My fave bits were the riding on the roof and the water fight!
Exciting 4x4 trip around the island. Great views of the mountains and the sea and an adventure for kids. Guide was extremely friendly and the waterfall is fantastic.
First off, let me say that we went on this trip during the dry season but that does not change my review of the tour. It seemed we had a lot of unnecessary stops which I can only assume was meant to drag the tour into a full-day tour. First stop was a rocky beach - nice views but had seen nice views already. Then we stopped to see a mummified monk. Could have done without that and I didn't even take off my shoes to look at it. Stopped at a zip-line course but only to eat some bananas. Really! Now all these stops were around 30-45 minutes long, so a lot of standing around being somewhat bored. The waterfall was just a trickle since it was dry season but that was not their fault and it was a serene, relaxing place. Lunch was the highlight of the tour and a restaurant in the hills that was fantastic! The Buddha garden was ok. Probably would have seemed nicer if the small river was running but I was expecting more. Then we went to the top of the mountain to see another buddha, and that was unnecessary. The rubber plantation is just a bunch of trees within walking distance of the buddha at the top of the mountain. Did not look like a plantation to me and was a rather uneventful ending to the day. This trip does not cost much but I think it is a waste of money. Wish I would have just spent another day at the beach.
Absolutely amazing trip!!! Definitely recommend, if your an adrenaline junkie like me and my partner this will be perfect! Lovely staff too I would defo do this again!!!
It was a good day overall , there was a lot of waiting at some of the stops though and our guide was trying to organise other groups at the same time so not perfect. The off road riding in the jeep was the best part.
It was a fantastic tour around the island with the guides. The kids love it sitting on top of the jeep of course with safety belts on. We finally get to cover most places of interest. Great tour worth recommending!
Lot’s of fun, very insightful and quite bumpy but a good day tour to do if you want to cover a lot of ground!
What a great day! Really great guide who spoke English and German. The jungle was gorgeous, as were the stops along the way. It was way cooler in the jungle too which was great on a hot day. Our Thai Lunch was delicious and the view, spectacular. But the best part of the day was the ride in the Jeep, up on top was tremendous fun and although I’m a little bruised from the ride, it was totally worth it. The water fight just made it that much more fun. Just sad to not realise we were at our hotel before we could get some money out to tip the driver, he was fantastic! “Go team Johnny”
Although our poor driver couldn’t find our last two Guest’s villa, which he eventually did which made us a tad late the day after that was perfectl! So much fun, lunch was great although our Chang beer ordered was a long neck so we could have shared one between two. Water pistol wars with the other jeeps were a scream and the four wheel driving was awesome! The mummified monk was unbelievable. Fantastic tour all up!
I had fun. But the name "eco-jungle safari" is misleading. Hardly any wildlife or even info about this, and nothing ecological about pushing a 50 year old jeep to the limit. That's what this tour should have been called, "4x4 adventure in the jungle" or something. If you want you can sit on the roof of a beat-up old jeep while the driver floors it up and down muddy, steep slopes. The tour guides were nice and one of them spoke great English and German. I might have enjoyed it more if I hadn't slipped on a waterfall and hurt my bum so the jeep experience was painful for me XD The lunch we were given was fantastic... really really good. So yes it was fun, but just know what to expect.
The guides are very nice , and fun to be with It was full day activity, worth every penny Had really fun, visited most of the popular places I recommend!
This tour was well organized and we all had a great time. Thrill ride on the 4WD through the mountains. The add ons like cut watermelon and rambutans during the stop for the zip line thrill was an added bonus. Johnny was fun to be with and loved loved the water fights.
It was everything from great service, funny tour guide and very attentive driver! Absolutely loved it! Highly recommend it for any age. The hikes weren't that tough, the ride can get a little bumpy though especially when you're driven downhill. Highly recommend it to tick off a bunch of sights in one day!
Really happy to recommend this outfit. Communication was prompt and accurate and the tour had plenty going on - our kids aged 10, 14 and 17 all enjoyed themselves, especially the off roading. If you expect seat belts in the vehicle and on top then this trips not for you. All the guys on the tour itself were friendly and helpful. Lunch is delicious - Thai food. One of us is vegetarian and they cooked something specially. Good value and good fun!
Would not recommend this to people with kids, astma, back problems or a desire for a genuine exploration tour of Koh Samui. Hard to see anyone to recommend it to actually. You will experience 6 hours of diesel exhaust, noise, wreckless driving and jeeps lacking basic safety features - only to be herded around like sheep (~40 people) watching non-mindblowing ”attractions”. The tour seems to mostly be about driving people to activities which you need to pay extra for. If you don’t fancy paying for them, you will sit around waiting for 20-40 minutes. The guides also lack most of the friendly and civilized manners otherwise so common for Thai people. Don’t expect anything like a small scale tour to get the real Koh Samui - it’s completely industrialised and has no ”Eco” nor ”Safari” elements to it. If you, like us, end up wondering what you paid for (definitely not the lunch), I would assume it’s mostly diesel.
Started with Hin Yai and Ta rocks and mummified monk which weren't on the itinerary but were welcome stops. Swam at the Namuang waterfall and had the option to ride the ziplines or waterslides for an extra fee. That was all fine, but the best was left to the afternoon, where we had a delicious lunch with a view, visited the magic garden and after a bum massage courtesy of the 4wd experience saw the big Buddha on the hilltop before heading home. Weren't forced to see captive animals which was great, and the best part was the waterfight with other 4wd groups, but with the gas guzzler vehicle and water bottles wasted for the water fight it wasn't as Eco as I had expected. Still 10/10, we had an amazing time and the drivers and leaders were all great, but Eco warriors might want to look elsewhere
Was an amazing day out .. from the outset through lunch and to the end . The day just seemed to get better and better . Thank you so much ! We am definitely doing it again !!
What a brilliant day/tour Thoroughly enjoyed this tour today. Was picked up on time from hotel. The tour guide (A) was brilliant. But the driver! Wow what a bad a#$e driver! All the attractions was good. And the water fights was so much fun. Zip wiring is also an added bonus if you want to do it on this tour. Lunch was amazing. Best food Iv had so far! Meet some lovely people. Would definitely recommend ☺️
Me and my boyfriend decided to join this tour and we did not regret at all! The trip was fun and the tour guide did an excellent job. The tour arranged a jeep to pick us up at our villa and send us back as well. The lunch is not fantastic but acceptable. Overall, we enjoyed our experience in this tour and highly recommended for adventurous tourist!
I really enjoyed this tour. It was my last tour of my trip and a great way to end it. I specially enjoyed riding on top of the jeep! it was so much fun! Only three person were allowed at a time so everybody who wanted a turn rotated between stops. In my group it was three couples and three single travelers. I was a single traveler. So every stop me and the other single traveler (the third never wanted to ride on top) switched back and forth with one of the couples to make three riding on top. I loved it! It was so cool and other tours had elephants walking right beside you. Since it was my last tour some of the places I had already seen but I enclosed seeing them a second time as this meant I had actual time to enjoy the area, the view, and shop instead of trying to take so many people and rush things. The tour also went inwards on the island instead of staying by the coast and took us up way above the seal level and we got to experience a beautiful view of the island spread out below us. We also got to see the stone garden which was really unique. The tour was for English and German speakers and the food was really good when they served us. We have to pay for drinks but that was no big deal. It was a great tour, so happy I did it
We had an amazing time! Would recommend this tour. My husband and I had the time of our life! The food was great with an amazing view! Our guides were awesome! So friendly and knowledgeable. They often took pics of us.
So much fun!!! Highly recommend!! The drivers/guides were heaps of fun and we had a great time with the water guns ;) The highlight was sitting on the top over the rough roads :D if you're not keen on a bumpy ride this tour probably isn't for you!
The places we visited were lame. However we enjoyed the water fights between the groups and the 4x4 rides. Our driver was excellent too. Lunch was ok.
When we booked the trip, I then rang the number given to arrange pick up time from our hotel, they answered straight Way and had very good English! We were picked up on time! And all was good! It was a fun little day out, if you want a trip with a guide probably not for you, but we didn’t mind not having one, you meet all the other safari trucks at certain points and it’s really fun! Met some lovely people. The food at the mountain top is out of this world! That there was worth the money we paid! Perfect for families, couples, friends and solos The fumes from the truck, and the bumpy roads grow tiresome but nothing to do with the trips fault 🤷🏼♀️
Fabulous fun loving guides. A lot of sight seeing packed into one day. Riding the top of the jeep was hairy but fun and the mass water fight was hilarious! Thanks
Everything was wonderful. Highly reccomend. The lunch was fantastic with gorgeous views Much more than I expected!
Just got back from a great day out. Really full day and lots to see. Our driver, Baow, was brilliant and couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely worthwhile.
Abi was great at directing me to the tour that our family would most enjoy - the Eco-Jungle tour. Our guide was Ak(?). He was fun, funny, and energetic. They were at the port on time with our name printed on a placard. We loaded into the back of a 4x4 and were off. the best part of the tour was the jeep drive through the narrow mountain, jungle roads. Two people can sit on the top and my teens loved, loved, loved his aggressive driving up and down the hills as they sat on top. The lunch was fantastic. He also took us to the waterfall and the hidden gardens. The gardens are a must! My teen sons thought it was a cool place to visit. The only thing I wish would be improved is that our guide didn't know English very well and so we didn't get a good taste of the culture of the island was like. Overall, I would use them again and you won't go wrong by going with them.
We booked this trip through Abi. She was very helpful in answering all queries promptly. The tour was fun with some parts of back breaking off road experience in a 4x4 Jeep. Our driver Aek was too good... He was engaging every one in our group. We had chilled water bottles in the jeep. Lunch is Thai cuisine at a local restaurant with some fruits. Thanks Abi for this great experience.
The day was truly fantastic! Some highlights of the island (must be seen) and great ride in the jungle! Super driver! Also I highly appreciated the customer service- we had some issues ( on our side) and the company was very supporting!
Abi from the tour agency was very helpful to provide me advise on the top spots for my family to visit in Koh Samui. Totally appreciate her prompt response and great service in getting us the private jeep tour. Our tour guides, Anna and Ark were excellent. They were so passionate and always looking out for my family. Ark has a good sense of humor and helped energize the trip;). We had an awesome time at the waterfall, rubber plantation and was able to customize the day to suit out needs. The highlight was the experience for the kids to ride on top of the jeep up the mountain. Top notch service and we had a great time. Thank you!
We really enjoyed this fun day out. It's not a 'serious' trip but it was a good, fun way to get around the island and see some of the sights. It was quite bust with other tourists and groups, but that seems to be the way of all of the tours we have done in Thailand. Our guide spoke really good English and had a good sense of humour. The jeep drivers had some fun going off roading - but it's not for the faint hearted! The stops were all quite short but TBH that was all that was needed. The only down side was that our jeep broke down, so he went to fix it and we were stick at the waterfalls for 45mins whilst the other went zip lining - our group was given the chance to zip wire when we eventually caught up but I think people felt obliged to say 'no'. All in all it was 'fun'.
I’m not sure about the company but I think many companies do such tour. We were picked up from our hotel and after some more picking we were in total 11 people at the back of our Mitsubishi pick-up. It was OK. The picture below describe the places we visited so I will not get into the details just some highlights: Travel in the mountain in a real 4x4 roads was excellent. The organizers arrange more vehicles to run a water guns fight which was a real fan. Riding on top of the roof is also a great adventure. I know that some people may criticize the animal shows as animal offending. I also didn’t like the photos with the chained tiger which doesn’t belong to the island but I must say that I like very much the elephants and I enjoyed playing with them. This is a one day that covers most of the “must see” places and it is well organized.
The jungle tour was fantastic. I had a great tour guide who spoke English. He looked after us very well. The driver had the eye of an eagle, spotting snakes , spiders etc... that he stopped and showed us. Note: the steps up to the waterfalls are not for the faint heated. If you have knee or leg injuries or poor balance you may want to remain at the bottom and have a drink.
We attended this tour on July 15, 2018. It really was a great adventure. Especially the swim in one of the natural ponds at Na Muang 2 waterfalls and the Jeep tour through the jungle-like mountains was great fun. The kids were allowed to sit on top of the Jeep throughout the tour off the beaten path and they went into raptures about this experience days after. The lunch on top of the mountain was very delicious and the tour guides made sure that everybody had a great time. I would definitely recommend this tour to everybody with kids between 7 and 14 years. Maybe one thing that was not that great was the fact that people who did not want to take a ride at the zipline station had to wait. But at least there were hammocks in the jungle that made the wait enjoyable.
The tour was well organised and good communication. We decided on this tour as I was travelling with 2 daughters age 15 and 12, and although we wanted to see the temples etc we didn’t want to spend ages there. The 4*4 part of the trip was what we enjoyed most. Our driver was experienced and fun. There were a number of teens in our group and they loved riding up top on the land rover going off road up into the mountains ... ending up with a massive water fight with some other groups. The waterfalls were OK and we did swim but water a bit murky. Lunch was good with great views ... one thing, it probably did say in the small print but water with meal is included but they offer you beer and smoothies which you pay for but isn’t made clear at the time. We also stopped at the zip line which you have the choice to do, ok but all adds up and with tip we ended up spending an additional 1700 bht. Glad we did it though and girls loved it.
