Stayed in a superior room. Yeah, it’s a bit scruffy around the edges, but it’s clean and the air con works well. Bath/shower combo is outdated but it does the job. Breakfast buffet was adequate - I’d seen someone refer to it as ‘the worst breakfast on Koh Samui’ and that’s probably accurate. Grounds were lovely and well kept, pool area great and beach fantastic, no mozzie issues. Although the pool water was hot. Assumed this was par for the course - we ARE in Thailand - however we visited friends in resort in Chaweng, and the pool water there was cool - so perhaps here it’s due to the black pool tiles. 🤷🏼♀️ Staff were all lovely to us (perhaps the people complaining about the staff were rude to them first? Just saying…….) Only real issues was that the bed is firm - however, that’s personal preference, and there was a hairline crack in the toilet seat that pinched our bums a couple of times. On the whole a perfectly good 3 star resort that isn’t pretending to be something it’s not, and I feel has received some pretty unfair reviews here. Having said that, after seeing the standard of another resort I think this one is overpriced for the state of it. For about 25% more $$ outlay you could get a resort that’s 75% better. We probably will go elsewhere next time.

Great location on the beach, really nice looking hotel, great pool area/beach. Their restaurant is slightly expensive though. Good beds, strong wifi, calm area. Room was abit worn out, but its just normal in thailand, doesnt affect your stay. Ac was good, although its operating really high. Bathtub/shower combo wasnt ideal when I had twisted my ankle few days before coming here. Overall really nice place!
I’ve been to Lamai a bunch of times over the last 20 years, and tried a bunch of the known hotels. However, i am now staying at Weekender every time. Main reasons: - Really nice rooms and bungalows that definitely punch above their weight. Stadd really quick to clean up- - I think the best pool area, with a secluded pool that i think is among if not the biggest in Lamai. Also very tidy and kept, and 20 meters to the ocean, with a bunch of beds that are not for rent to non-guests. - Great bar area and great restaurant. - A clean gym with lots of equipment - Always manned reception where people raslly are on their toes - Compared to other places i have been on in Lamai, their wifi is fast and great. Finally: Great staff. Not sure why, but the staff seems more friendly here than at other places. Mr. Pokai in the reception is a gem. Drawbacks, if i search for them: - Bar is a bit pricey (but they are hardly alone here). - There were some loose tiles in the pool when i was there, and one shower by the pool was broken. - Wifi was spotty in the bar area In summary: It’s not the *most* luxurious hotel in Lamai, but if you’re after a top-tier resort while not completely draining your wallet, Weekender is, to me, essily the best choice and value for money. I know that i’ll definitely stay there next time i visit my brother.
First place in Thailand were staff blatanly ignored us. We had a lot of problems with our rooms. In the main building renovation was activly taking place, there was a constant smell of paint. Nobody mentioned that, nobody offered us different room. Thankfully the next day the manager upgraded for free to bungalow, but there were still problems with sewer. I called to reception and nothing happened, i guess the staff wanted us to resolve it by ourselfes. And most importantly, water in rooms is salty, i couldn't wash anyting while i stayed here. Somehow the shower at the beach was normal. The beach is fine, water is deep, green and somewhat clean, very warm. It has a strange smell of wet cellar somehow. Near hotel's beach located water scouters and stuff like that, that was very annoying, constant noise. The breakfast was ok, sufficent enough, not many to choose from. There are many places to eat and massage, the nigh market withing 5 minutes walking Also hotel has an option to book a minibus for 2400 baht for 4 hours and driver will take you around the island, wherever you ask to. Driver was amazing. Great deal, definetly recommend.
I stayed here for 3 nights and paid 10,000 baht. Unfortunately, the room condition was not very good, but I still decided to stay in the same room. One issue I faced was in the bathroom—when taking a shower, water would leak outside the bathtub and make the floor wet. The breakfast was average, nothing special. However, the swimming pool was very nice and well-maintained, which I really enjoyed. Overall, the stay was okay, but the room condition and bathroom setup could definitely be improved.
