The island tour plus 1 hour at the beach was great! There is a 2 dollar fee for Pirates, and 2 dollars at the waterfall. This was one of the best shore excursions, and they pick you up at the pier after your ship docks.

Itinerary
Our tour starts at the Kingstown cruise ship terminal. We will take you through our capital city Kingstown. As we drive through you will be shown and given information about some of the most historical buildings such as The Central Police Station, The Financial Complex, The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and also our Cenotaph.
We will be driving through our bustling market square where a lot of vendors and farmers selling their local produces.
As we continue on through our capital city Kingstown, we will be driving on the street of the church or "back street" as it is locally called. Here you will be shown and given a brief history about the Methodist church as well as the Anglican and the Roman Catholic church.
Then we will journey on to Fort Charlotte. Fort Charlotte is a British-colonial era fort, built on a hill over-looking the harbour and enjoys a panoramic view of the Leeward side of the island, including Kingstown, Young Island, Bequia and also the famous island Mustique.
After our stop at Fort Charlotte, we will then join the Leeward high, which has been renamed to the Nelson Mandela Highway. In passing you will get to see The Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, The Victoria Park - a small stadium which is also referred to as Carnival City during the Carnival season, The Botanical Gardens which is the oldest garden of it's kind in the western hemisphere, Our industrial area Campden park and then on to the picturesque Buccament Bay. We will be making a quick stop here for photos.
A short distance to the north of buccament bay is the settlement of Layou. Layou was one of the first areas of settlement by the French, who were the first Europeans to settle in St. Vincent and The Grenadines in the early part of the eighteenth century. Even before then the Caribs used it as one of their settlements, as it is evident from the petroglyphs which are found in the area. We will be making a stop here in Layou for photos
Our next stop is the fishing village of Barrouallie. Barrouallie was established by French settlers in 1719, the first European colony on St. Vincent. It was once the capital of St.Vincent and the Grenadines. With the rest of the island, it passed back and forth between the French and the British, finally remaining in the hands of the latter. Within Saint Patrick Parish, Barrouallie is both the largest city and the parish capital. The area is known for fishing and is famous for "Blackfish". Due to the surrounding mountains, the town is shaped into a hole that has over time has protected the town from volcanic eruptions.
Our Next stop will be the Wallilabou Bay where the opening scenes of the first movie of The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of The Black Pearl were filmed. It is one of the most visited site for cruise ship passengers.
Just a stone throw away is Wallilabou Heritage Park which will be our next stop. It is a small waterfall. Large Samaan trees cover the pool and its adjacent areas, creating a relatively cool micro-climate for the core area of the park. These and other plants create a habitat for several species of birds.
After a fun time at the Dark View Falls we will then make our journey back to Buccament Beach where you will have 1 hour to swim or snorkel.

This was an excellent tour! It was really exciting seeing the props from the movie and reliving their experience. I would definitely recommend.
Highly recommend tour company offering a great range of trips. Good value for money. Always punctual and responsive to questions. Shaf, in particular, is fabulous. A beautiful Vincentian, inside & out 🥰
Our pirates of the Caribbean excursion was truly unforgettable.. Our guide "Chef" was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything was well-paced, giving my family time to relax and take it all in. I highly recommend this excursion—it’s a perfect way to experience the beauty of the island.
Learnt a lot about St Vincent and The Grenadines, it's sustainability, the fruits and vegetation on the island, it's people. We love St Vincent and the Grenadines and our guide assisted us in falling deeper in love with it. To you it off we visited Wallilabou Landing, where some parts of Pirates on the Carribean, The Black Pearl, were filmed. Truly beautiful island.
What an amazing tour. Wayne was polite and friendly on WhatsApp, making sure I had all the details I needed to join the tour. Deano was our driver and he was fantastic, as I was sat in the front I couldn’t always hear our guide, so he kept me informed. I didn’t catch our guides name, but she said “You can call me Sexy Lexi”. She too was amazing and so informative. My mum also loved it too. Definitely one to do if you’re a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, and Topdawg Tours certainly make sure you have the best time.
This tour with Top Dawg was a great introduction to St Vincent and The Grenadines. Communication prior to the tour was also professional and detailed, which I really appreciated as a solo traveller. My guide Weena was so enthusiastic about showing us her country, and our driver Dino provided us with safe and comfortable transportation. The Pirates of the Caribbean site is worth visiting if you’re an enthusiast, but just bear in mind it’s not been maintained overly well since the movie was produced. It was still worth seeing, but just set your expectations. Overall, I would recommend this tour with Top Dawg for those with limited time on the island and for Pirates of the Caribbean enthusiasts.
"Topdawg" was an excellent driver. The roads are steep and winding, but we always felt safe. He even had time to dish out advice about horn use. The fort visit was educational. Not a lot to see at the Pirates site ($2 charge), but fun to play in the coffins. The waterfall stop was our highlight. We also stopped at a beach and learnt about whale catching!
Very good experience. Knowledgeable guide with gosh. Was our first Viator trip and we had some concerns but everything was very professional. Very good, thanks
We were picked up from the cruise terminal. Traffic in Kingstown was horrific so it was hard for Kevin to get there on time. His collegue droped us of out of port. Driving in a minivan through villages and along winding tightcurved roads, lots of fun. Stop at the pirates of the caribbean filmset. Loved it. You pay $2 to go in. To the 2 waterfalls in the national park. Well worth the steep climb to the top one. $5 to go in. Ending at a beach, not a really good one, seen better. Kevin was gun, informative and we saw a lot driving around. Drop of at the cruise terminal. Good day out
Fort Charlotte visit was informative. The Pirates of Caribbean movie set is the highlight of the tour. The Heritage Park visit was so-so
Guides very knowledgeable and friendly. We were collected and delivered back on time and thought the whole thing was good value for money
We were met at the port as promised and were fortunate to have only 5 travelers. Kevin drove and narritated for us. He is very informative and knowledgeable about everything on the island. We kept ahead of the larger crowds from the ship tours. We all agreed to cut the beach visit short and Kevin said he would guide us to some shopping in Kingstown! Very helpful, flexible; a great guide!
I really enjoyed this tour and our friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming tour guide. Seeing the filming locations for Pirates of the Caribbean was fun. We were the only tourists there at the time so we got to take a lot of fun photos. While there is not much to do there, the atmosphere is good and the black sand beach is the perfect backdrop for an impromptu pirate photo shoot. I do appreciate the flexibility of our tour guide who allows us to opt for the botanical gardens instead of the beach.
We had an amazing day and met a lovely couple who shared the same tour . Kevin our driver was great and very informative. Absolutely loved it
My wife and I booked to go see the pirates film set, we were joined by another couple who were lovely and Kevin was our driver! Kevin was very informative explaining sites, and places on the drive! A great day was had by all
Wayne, from Topdawg Taxi and Tours, picked us up at Sandals and have us a very unique history of towns. The stops at Pirates of the Caribbean was fantastic!! Next up was Dark View Falls and he walked us up to both falls and gave us history of falls. I could go on, but it was great and we are so glad we got Wayne👍😁
This attraction was on the beach. Boardwalk, restaurant that served local drink’s. The setup was like the movie. Kids would enjoy.
Very good tour Funny tour guide . The beach stop could be skipped. We just had a trink at the beach bar.
Long day. Beautiful scenery but could have been mentioned we were not going to certain places and going elsewhere. Beach visit was a waste if time too.
This was a phenomenal tour lead by Kevin. He was an amazing driver on roads that were very narrow and hilly. His knowledge, professionalism, kindness, humor and willingness to make this a memorable experience for all was so much appreciated. The tour was fun and filled with a lot of conversation about the island and the people. Well done Kevin. Thank you for a memorable day.
The tour was super fun. Visiting the movie set was interesting and the waterfall was beautiful. Chefrine did an excellent job of giving an island overview.
From being collected Kevin our tour guide was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Fantastic views, excellent experience at the bay for pirates of the caribbean and the waterfall was breathtaking, would highly recommend to everyone
The tour guide Kevin was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Was an amazing tour and the waterfall was breathtaking! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to see more of the island.
Brilliant guide Kevin a good insight to the island and a good beach stop at the end with bar and restaurant facilities enjoyed it
Very professional guide who explained very clearly a lot of the culture and the life of the people in St Vincent and the Grenadines. We covered everything that was in our program (except Fort Charlotte which was closed) and saw magnificent views, the volcano Soufrière and Dark View Falls. I can definitely recommend this excursion!
A great 5 hours exploring the sites and a beach stop. Driver did great on the winding roads up and down. The tour guide was very informative telling us all about the history and answering questions. A lovely rum punch as well. Also an easy pick up from right outside the cruise terminal, Highly recommended
Great tour from Kingstown. Much bettter than I expected. Communication with these guys is awesome. They deliver what they promise. Much recommended.
Great tour by @ruffsmooth I am not one to give review by ruff was so informative and also know everything about the islands. Thank a million
This tour has potential but was not a good experience for us. Fort Charlotte was closed for maintenance so we didn’t have the benefit of going inside. Pirates of the Caribbean had some good things but overall the area is not well maintained. Next, they took us to a waterfall which was the least impressive waterfall I’ve ever been to. They then took us to a beach with the dirtiest water I’ve ever seen. Come on! You guys can do better than that.
There was no organization, we were put in 3 different vehicles before it was decided what vehicle we should be in. Topdawg also had no record of our reservation. We were finally put in an over-crowded bus. It took approximately 2 hours to get to the Port Royal Experience which was not what anyone expected. Buildings of miscellaneous telephones, tv. There were very weathered coffins you could stand in for a picture and a possibility 12 foot or more skeleton for pictures. We stopped at a black-sand beach for some swimming and tables to order yourself something to drink. The weather was extremely hot and humid. Bus should have had a microphone so all could here what was being said.
Too many people everywhere. All buses went to the same places at the same time. Nothing was told about the various places to be visited or about the history of the country etc. The bus was overcrowded and there was no air conditioning or power socket as promised. The driver drove like he was on a trip with his friends.
This tour was decent but could have been much better, they started by jamming way to many people into an already full van. The first part had some interesting views. The driver then asked who wanted a beer 1 for 5, I paid 10 USD for, and a British couple paid 10 euros for 2, The price other places on island was 3 for 5 Caribbean dollars (felt scammed) The stop at the gardens was supposed to be 15 minutes and resulted in a dollar charge to see a 10-foot waterfall and stand around 45 minutes watching cab drivers argue. The Pirates of Carribean film area was great absolutely best part of tour. The beach stop was OK at best.
It was an ok trip. Minibus of 15, with plastic covers on the seats! Guide had to be asked to turn air con on as at times it was like an oven, especially for those at the back. Pirates of the Caribbean aspect was very disappointing, not the experience we expected. Botanical gardens also a bit underwhelming and Angel Beach to finish the tour, again we thought there'd be a lovely beach with different bars to sit at and watch the world go by. One bar only which was taken over by the construction workers from the site nearby, and the various tour guides. Had to hang around for around 50 minutes to find a seat when some others left. Maybe ok if you want to go on the beach or swim but we didn't.
Great fun and brilliant organisation from TopDawg. They picked us up on time and did se great commenting in English. Good for solos, families or couples.
This was one of the best tours of my entire life! Wayne is by far the best tour guide on the island of Saint Vincent and so nice and knowledgeable about the culture of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The Rum Punch Wayne offered us was super strong but absolutely incredible! Not to mention the pineapple we ate for a snack which was grown on his farm was the best pineapple I've eaten in my life. We loved this tour so much that we decided to go with Wayne the following day to the Owid Salt Pond and the Windward side of the island which was incredible too! Overall Wayne was absolutely fantastic and super accommodating. Definitely give this tour a try! It is extremely worth your time!
It was an ok day. Norris was our driver and he was very knowledgable, courteous and looked after the group well. Fort Charlotte was a good viewpoint for photos. The ‘pirates of the Caribbean port’ really wasn’t worth visiting. And the wallilabou heritage park was just a very small waterfall that you had to pay to get in to see. Very busy with tourists at every point on this trip. It was also a lot of time in the minibus too but an ok way to see some of the island.
Fantastic trip - far better than the expensive overcrowded ones ran from the ship with Tui. We booked in advance from the UK, Wayne messaged with arrival instructions and he was there waiting with a smile! There was just us and one other couple, we found out lots of fascinating facts about st Vincent and visited many highlights including a waterfall and gardens, Fort Charlotte, the beach and the pirates of the Caribbean set. Worth every penny!
Norris was an excellent tour guide. Only reason I rated this tour as 4 not 5 star was unfortunately the majority of the other tour participants were not interested in listening to the interesting information that Norris had to say and confinued their conversations in loud voices. This became progressively worse with the more beer that they drank. At our last stop at the beach they ignored the time we were supposed to be back at the bus. Norris had to go looking for them. A frustrating situation for the participants like us who had to wait for 25 minutes for the others to show up, rather selfish of them.
Driver/guide good. Pirates of the Caribbean site is tourist trappy. Other stops average for the islands.
Despite a very last minute online booking we were accommodated. Met at the cruise terminal by Wayne who was very welcoming and the received a great tour by Shakeria. Such a friendly atmosphere. Couldn’t do anything more for us, even took photos and sent them to us via airdrop. More than competitive prices too, less than half of the cost for the same tour MSC we’re offering but with a local expert guide. Couldn’t recommend them more!
Nice tour with a nice guide. We were 4 guests in total. The fort had an amazing view. We recommend this trip to anyone.
Very nicely paced tour, extremely informative and very professionally led by Wayne, our guide. You get the chance not only to see things, but to understand the wider context of life on the island from a local.
Had a great tour around the islands. The ladies were lovely. We only had one downside as we were the only English on board so we missed a lot due to the ladies speaking directly to the other groups guide, which was a shame as we missed quite a bit of info. But saying that we enjoyed the day.
Booked a private Top Dawg tour to see St Vincent and the Pirates of the Caribbean experience. My wife and I wanted the private tour because of some mobility issues. Wayne and Shakeira were awesome. We saw everything described in the regular tour with emphasis on the things that interested us most. We were there for the end of the Catholic Mass, toured the city, the Fort and two beaches. They provided refreshing drinks at the stops and were both helpful and informative. The Toyota van was clean and comfortable. When the tour was over we felt sad that we were leaving friends. Thanks.
We had a Pirate tour with Wayne and Shakeira and it was awesome! They met us off the boat with a sign so we could find them easily (other tours we booked were not so easy to find). My 5 kids love the Pirates movies, but they also enjoyed the other aspects of the tour, not pirate related, like the fort - such a view! and the gardens/waterfall were lovely. They talked about the island as we drove and answered all my kids questions. The beach was so great- good snorkeling towards the south - wished we could have stayed longer! In a nutshell, communication was good, Wayne made us feel safe as he drove, and we felt like we learned a lot about St Vincent. We would 100% recommend this tour company, and enjoyed the tour guides better than others we did on the 8 day cruise. We feel like we made life-long friends!
Went in a mixed group of 6 adults with different age. Picked up well in time in a Toyota mini van Time for tour was as described. The pirate set was busy - to be expected i suppose. Will have to watch the films on my return to see where it was in the film. Didnt think much of the little water fall but good excuse to have a rum punch. Driver friendly and knowledgeable. Nice little time spent from our cruise
Comprehensive tour of many sites on island away from capital including Pirates cove fort and time on the beach - very enjoyable and good guide. The 9 am booking was held until 10 when ship docked late - very satisfied and can recommend this good value tour.
Our guides, Wayne and Shakeira were lovely, we were given lots of information about the island through the trip and the sites we visited were beautiful and interesting. Highly recommend this tour with Top Dawg! Thanks again guys!
Overall, the tour was disappointing. The fort was interesting structure. The Pirates package focused on a beach where some portions of the Johnny Depp movie was filmed. But no narration to connect scene with story. Rocky Beach was closed hotel with no maintenance in 5 years, $1 fee for room to change into suit, $5 fee for chair which broke when I sat in it (I am not obese), $8 for promised rum punch which I not buy.
