Itinerary
Our tour starts at the Kingstown cruise ship terminal. We will take you through our capital city Kingstown. As we drive through you will be shown and given information about some of the most historical buildings such as The Central Police Station, The Financial Complex, The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and also our Cenotaph.
We will be driving through our bustling market square where a lot of vendors and farmers selling their local produces.
As we continue on through our capital city Kingstown, we will be driving on the street of the church or "back street" as it is locally called. Here you will be shown and given a brief history about the Methodist church as well as the Anglican and the Roman Catholic church.
Then we will journey on to Fort Charlotte. Fort Charlotte is a British-colonial era fort, built on a hill over-looking the harbour and enjoys a panoramic view of the Leeward side of the island, including Kingstown, Young Island, Bequia and also the famous island Mustique.
After our stop at Fort Charlotte, we will then join the Leeward high, which has been renamed to the Nelson Mandela Highway. In passing you will get to see The Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, The Victoria Park - a small stadium which is also referred to as Carnival City during the Carnival season and then we make our way to The Botanical Gardens which is the oldest garden of it's kind in the western hemisphere
Then on to our Final site is on the windward side of St. Vincent and will be the beautiful picturesque Villa beach. It also has an amazing view of the Young Island Resort where Johnny Depp and some of his crew members stayed while they were filming The Pirates of the Caribbean. Villa beach also has nice bars and restaurants and good toilet facilities. Here you can swim/snorkel so please walk with your swimming gears. (optional)

Take the botanical gardens tour with Antony when you arrive. He is amazing!
I loved the fact the lady who took us on the tour was early! We left at 0840 to meet her at pick up point and as we were leaving we had a call she was already there! We were due to meet at 0900. There were 3 of us on the route. She explained with humour and detail the history of the island. Drive safely through the narrow and hilly roads of st Vincent. First stop fort Charlotte. Chef the guide explained the history of a place that in parts made me feel uneasy who knows what the settlers did there. On to the botanical gardens which were sadly closed. So the tour changed and we went back to Kingstown explored the market and did a little shopping. Finally to paradise beach club. Could have missed that part to be honest but it was a good tour
Chef was a great your guide. She was very attentive to our wishes. When only 1 person of 6 wanted to go to the beach and only for a few minutes, she was quite willing to switch beaches so that the other 5 of us didn't have to pay for beach access that we wouldn't use. She told us a great deal about the island as she drove those narrow, steep roads so ably.
This was a great tour! Informative and interesting. Our tour guide was really terrific. The booking was changed because they couldn't make our last minute request work, so we reached for the next day via Whatsapp. This was super helpful because we had some othr things scheduled, and the tour company was able to tailor the tour to our needs. They even ended up dropping us off at the ferry terminal instead of back at the hotel which saved us time and a taxi fare.
Had a great tour with Dino yesterday (and with Shef for a short time). Dino"s driving skills (and, in particular, his clutch control up those hills) were brilliant!. Very informative anf enjoyable tour. The only reason we did not award 5 stars is that the beach resort that we visited at the end was ram jammed full. We were happy to stroll on the beach and have a drink in the coffee shop but those wanting a good beach expetience might be disappointed. Maybe find am alternative resort to take your guests if possible?
Many different varieties of trees, most labelled. Few flowers. Seats and benches to rest at. Toilet facilities available We didn't hire a guide, maybe we should have
We had a most enjoyable afternoon with Joel driving and Anthony at Fort Charlotte and a different Anthony in the stunning botanical gardens. Both men were very friendly and very knowledgable. Fabulous views from the fort and interesting history to learn. The gardens have trees from all over the world. There is a breadfruit tree descended from one planted by Captain Bligh. Anthony knew the history of every plant and is clearly a devoted caretaker. We also saw and heard the beautiful local parrot. Interesting afternoon including the drive there and back.
A little of everything on the island. Exceptional tour guide.(Chefrene). Beach, botanical garden, mountains.
Very pleased with pickup and return to hotel with TopDawg Taxi. Suggest hiring your own private guide at the Gardens. Note that the Gardens does not take credit cards.
A pleasant tour with the entertaining Chef & Dino our driver. Cruise ship pick up & drop off. Many thanks.
Fantastic trip given by Topdawg in St.Vincent by driver Kevin. Kevin was excellent driver and guide, he had great knowledge of the island and very helpful and kind, we had a very enjoyable trip. Would highly recommend
Lovely gardens well presented and we had Cornelius as a guide inside. Interesting tour, around the garden which took about 45 minutes. A nice break but nothing spectacular.
Very well organised. A variety of scenic stops. Addition costs to get into Botanical Gardens and the private beach. The guides were very knowledgable and friendly. I recommend this excursion.
Great trip ,lovely guide ,gardens are beautiful very pleasant hour on the beach ,got to see a lot of st Vincent very mountainous and pretty.
Berris our guide was fantastic, his knowledge and pride in his homeland was brilliant. It is important to visit the historic and cultural places when visiting the beautiful Caribbean islands and this tour was very informative
We had a great tour guide who was very informative and responsive to our interests. The Botanical Gardens were interesting, though more tree oriented than flowers.
Brilliant trip although drive to fort is not for the faint hearted. Javon was great guide and Dino the driver was excellent. This really was a super trip although could have done with more time at Botanical gardens. Still great value thoroughly recommend for cruise passengers.
The tour was organized and the staff, the guide and driver, the latter named Big Up, were friendly and professional. I recommend this tour. I recommend using a microphone system on the van to ensure all can hear what the guide and driver are saying.
It was enjoyable and the tour guide was quite knowledgeable and humourus. Some interesting sights and views. Didn't particularly enjoy the beach stop. But the rum punch and water was in good supply.
We were u sure about boiling this experience, fear not! It was a lovely trip and Jevon (guide) and Deano (driver) were very friendly and fantastic. The country was beautiful and Jevon and Deano made the trip, they went above and beyond responding to questions and telling us about their history. It was Boxing Day and they were happy to show us their country on a day everything would be at a standstill in the UK. Excellent trip, Botanical gardens were stunning. The Rum punch was to die for! Thank you.
Overall good trip let down by fort shut, driver took us as far as he could for some great views. Garden guide very good and Rum excellent. 5 star if fort open I think.
I usually like to just relax in a hotel however my wife insisted on a tour and chose this one. I'm happy she did...it was a great day. Wayne was our tour guide and went out of his way to make us not only comfortable but see as much of the island that we could. We were the only ones on the tour so it was customized. He even stopped for us to get a bite which we greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this company and look forward to them expanding. If you are considering this company, give them a chance. You won't regret it.
Really enjoyed the tour. We were met by Wayne at the cruise terminal and he took us on the tour, giving us lots of interesting information, but also giving us enough time on our own to enjoy the sights. Everything was well organised and on schedule, and we felt very comfortable throughout the tour. Would definitely recommend Wayne and his team.
Our guide was very friendly and informative throughout and listened to the views of our family and the couple on our trip as to how much time we spent at each location. The beach in particular was a highlight with plentiful inexpensive sunbeds available, great views of an island used in filming Pirates of the Caribbean. There were inexpensive water taxis available if we wished to visit the island.
Our tour guide (Shakira?) was professional, intelligent, knowledgeable and fun to be with. The stops and were nice, and her information made them very interesting. Please tell her Thanks from us!!!
Amazing tour with Wayne who was friendly , knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble . Nice itinerary the highlight being the beach trip where we took a boat across to the Young Island Resort. Highly recommend
Our guide Norris was great. He was on time at the cruise terminal and was attentive to our needs. This excursion was the best we had during our 12 day cruise
Instead of a RCL shore excursion where they pack 20+ into a recycled Japanese minibus, I opted for Topdawg. Was best excursion decision of my 12 day cruise. St Vincent is a tiny one-small-cruise-ship-at-a-time port, but there are several dozen independent mini-van tour operators hungry for customers at the end of the pier. Strangely very few advertise on TripAdvisor. Topdawg had 3 couples with reservations my visit day with 2 pristine Toyota minivans awaiting us. No spur-of-moment customers appeared, so wife and I got a solo tour with 2 couples in other minivan. Fabulous personal tour experience! If you’re cruising to St Vincent, book Topdawg or if they’re booked, l’m sure you can catch any of the many independent minivan tour option for a cheaper and superior tour than the cruise line options. Not all Windward Island ports offer such a multitude of independent operators, but in St Vincent it’s safe to skip the cruise ship options. Go Topdawg—you won’t be sorry.
Excellent, informative tour. Jerron was brilliant with explanations and taking us around in the most interesting to see places.
The excursion went very smooth from the pickup at the cruise pier to the drop off back at the pier. Our driver was very informative and did a great job explaining the sites. The Botanical Garden is a real gem. It was on of the best I've been in.
The small coach we rode in with 6 total passengers was comfortable and the driver amiable, however there were communication problems. The fort was a steep climb that guests were not informed of. Guests were not informed of the length of walking or the additional costs in the botanical gardens. It was only 6 bucks with a guide but who needs a surprise. Just tell us. Lastly, the hotel beach access was blocked due to a special event. We still got through at a longer distance but the company should have known this in advance. Better communication and full disclosure will easily improve this tour.
Great island, great tour. Friendly, gardens were beautiful. Pay for the local guide at the gardens. Additional, negotiate it but well worth it. Top dog was friendly, excellent and knowledgeable. Wonderful tour
Excellent value for the price we paid Only issue advertised as changing rooms available at beach (but no mention of chargeable) Fort Charlotte good, Botanical Gardens good (entrance fee mentioned) beach ok for a couple of hours. Driver good vehicle clean. All in all would recommend
We choose this tour through viator on a port day during our cruise ship. The meet up was just like it was stated during our reservation. The tour staff was professional and on time. The vehicle was very clean and maintained to the highest standard. But the driver was just okay and was friends...but I felt like the tour itself was just like a simple local taxi ride. I'd take the tour again, but I'm not sure the same driver.
We took this tour at the beginning of our trip, and set the course for us in the best way. Our guides were knowledgeable, patient, polite, friendly and welcoming, bringing St. Vincent alive for us. They went above and beyond, telling us everything we needed to know from history, to the best spots, to current politics, what it's like to live here and everything in between. We can't say enough nice things about them, and look forward to going on two of their other tours before we leave.
Wonderful tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating. In particular, we had my 90yo mother and they gave her special attention to make certain she would enjoy the trip. Highly recommend TopDawg!
