Clive our server is amazing and very attentive and helpful and polite. He got me the nutmeg when I wasn't sure where to find it for my cornmealporridge. It got me a wet nap to wipe my hands when I was looking for the hand sanitizer. He's gone above and beyond and I'm so happy with the service and the food. The scrambled eggs, butter, condensed milk, soymilk and cereal was delicious. I love that the soymilk was warm as well as the other food that was provided. The pineapples were sweet and delicious.

I took away one star because I feel that a Jamaican hotel offering buffet breakfast Callao should absolutely be on the menu and not a la carte offering. 2nd time staying here and it was on the buffet breakfast menu everyday in 2024. What has changed? Room was clean and the location is optimal for uptown location as you’re close to everything.
Stayed for one night before an early flight and it was exactly what we needed. We were upgraded to a huge suite with great views over Emancipation Park. The pool area was excellent, and the bar downstairs was lively and clearly popular with both guests and locals. Service was friendly throughout, parking was free and easy on site, and there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. The location felt convenient and safe, making it a great base for exploring Kingston or catching an early flight. Would happily stay here again.
Our stay at The Courtleigh Hotel was absolutely phenomenal from beginning to end. The ambiance of the hotel is beautiful, warm, relaxing, and welcoming — the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. Every single staff member we encountered was genuinely kind, attentive, and committed to making sure we had the best experience possible. A very special thank you to Sharon, the amazing manager, who truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable. Her professionalism, hospitality, and personal attention made us feel incredibly valued and cared for throughout our visit. The highlight of our experience was definitely the outstanding dining experience thanks to Chef Dujon Simpson. My sister is vegan, and finding restaurants that genuinely accommodate dietary restrictions can often be difficult while traveling. Chef Dujon Simpson exceeded every expectation and thoughtfully catered to all of our special dietary needs every single night. Not only was the food beautifully prepared, but it was also absolutely delicious. His creativity, flexibility, and willingness to accommodate us made such a lasting impression. This hotel delivers exceptional hospitality, amazing food, friendly service, and an unforgettable atmosphere. We cannot wait to return and would highly recommend The Courtleigh Hotel to anyone visiting Jamaica!
I stayed at Courtleigh with my sister during Carnival week, and overall, we had a memorable and enjoyable experience. From the outset, I want to acknowledge the staff—everyone we encountered demonstrated genuine effort, professionalism, and a clear commitment to guest satisfaction. Despite a few challenges at the beginning, their responsiveness and attitude made a meaningful difference in our stay. Upon check-in, we were informed that the room we had originally booked was unavailable. This was understandably disappointing, especially given the busy Carnival period. However, after advocating for ourselves, the team worked with us to find a compromise: we were able to remain in our preferred room for five nights before transitioning to another. While not ideal, we appreciated their willingness to meet us halfway. Throughout our stay, the front desk team and management stood out for their professionalism. Even when addressing concerns, they remained composed, attentive, and solution-oriented. That level of consistency under pressure speaks highly of their training and dedication. The gym facilities were well-equipped, though cleanliness initially fell short. Once this was brought to their attention, the staff acted immediately to rectify the issue. Their quick response demonstrated a genuine openness to feedback and a proactive approach to improvement. Housekeeping was generally satisfactory, though there was one instance where our room was not cleaned thoroughly. That said, when we raised the concern, the team promptly offered to return and make it right, which we appreciated. Dining at the hotel restaurant was a pleasant experience overall, with courteous and professional waitstaff. However, the quality of the food was somewhat inconsistent, excellent on some days and average on others. Pricing was fair, and the service remained consistently strong. The pool area is a lovely space to unwind, though the addition of more shaded or covered seating would significantly enhance the guest experience, especially during warmer days. One point of disappointment was the late checkout policy. Given the inconvenience of having to change rooms mid-stay, we felt a complimentary late checkout would have been a thoughtful gesture. Instead, we were quoted a $90 fee, which felt misaligned with the circumstances. While this was not initially offered, we advocated for ourselves and revisited the conversation with the team. To their credit, they ultimately accommodated our request, which we appreciated. That said, it would have enhanced the overall experience if this had been extended proactively, rather than requiring follow-up. In summary, Courtleigh is a hidden gem with tremendous potential. With a bit more consistency and attention to detail, it could easily position itself among the top hotels in Kingston. Despite the few shortcomings, we truly enjoyed our stay and would both recommend it and consider returning in the future.
