Kris was very knowledgeable about Ring of Kerry. He knew exactly where to go and what to see especially since it was a rainy day

Killorglin – The Town of the King Puck Legend Your journey begins in Killorglin, a riverside town where myth and festival intertwine. Here, the Laune flows under ancient arches, and the story of King Puck — the wild mountain goat crowned in celebration — lingers in the air like a mischievous blessing. It’s a place where tradition smiles, and the road ahead feels touched by folklore.
Bog Village – Where Time Moves Slowly A short drive brings you to a place where the past rests gently on the land. Thatched cottages, turf fires, and quiet pathways invite you to step into an Ireland shaped by resilience and simple beauty. It’s the soft opening note of your day’s story.
Kells Sheepdog Demonstration – The Dance of Shepherd and Dog On a hillside overlooking the sea, you’ll witness a partnership older than memory. The shepherd calls, the dog answers, and the flock moves as one — a living poem of instinct and trust.
Cahersiveen – Birthplace of Daniel O’Connell In this quiet town stands the birthplace of The Liberator. A humble house, a powerful legacy — a reminder that great voices often rise from small rooms.
The stone fort of Cahergal built around 600AD. It is well worth a visit. The current structure has undergone some reconstruction and while the purist may say it is too “clean and pure” it is an impressive site. With walls approx 6 m high and some 3 m thick this dry stone wall fort is one of the best examples of an early medieval stone forts to be found on the ring of Kerry.
Ferry to Valentia Island – Crossing Into Another World The short crossing feels like slipping between realms. The mainland fades, the island approaches, and the air grows wilder, saltier, more ancient.
Valentia Telegraph Station – Where the World First Connected On this windswept headland, the first transatlantic cable carried messages across the deep. The building still hums with the thrill of connection.
Skellig Visitor Centre – Echoes of the Monks Inside, the story of Skellig Michael unfolds — monks, stone huts, wind, prayer. A tale of devotion carved into a lonely rock.
Portmagee – A Harbour for Hunger and Heart Lunch (1 hour) in a village wrapped in sea air and gentle colour. Fishing boats sway, gulls drift, and the harbour feels like a warm pause in the day.
The cliffs stand over 1000ft above the wild Atlantic and were formed in a desert environment 400 million years ago. Out to the west stand the amazing Skellig Rocks one of only three UNESCO world heritage sites in Ireland. Of course the Kerry Cliffs are the closest viewing point to the great rocks and also the famous Puffin Island. Allied with these facts as you stand at the summit of this mystical place and breath in the freshest of air, deep in to your lungs from the wild Atlantic and observe this natural wonder. You can relax and unwind and observe the majestic views from here which reach out for 30 miles of the surrounding areas. The visit to Kerry Cliffs in an option and it may shorten the time spent on some other attraction, as to fully admire the amazing views minimum one hour is needed.
Waterville – A Village Between Lake and Sea Beloved by dreamers, Waterville sits in a cradle of water and light. A place where horizons stretch wide.
Com an Chiste Pass, a mountain pass on the Ring of Kerry. It offers spectacular views of the Kenmare Bay and the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountains.
Sneem is a small and picturesque village in County Kerry, Ireland. It is located on the Iveragh Peninsula, which is part of the Ring of Kerry, a scenic coastal route. Sneem lies on the estuary of the River Sneem, which flows into Kenmare Bay. The name Sneem comes from the Irish word An tSnaidhm, which means "the knot". There are different explanations for this name, but one of them is that the village consists of two squares, North and South, that are connected by a bridge over the river, forming a knot-like shape. Sneem has a rich history and culture, and it has attracted many visitors over the years. One of them was the former French president Charles de Gaulle, who visited Sneem in 1969 and has a monument dedicated to him in the North Square. Sneem also offers many attractions and activities for tourists, such as hiking, cycling, fishing, golfing, and kayaking. You can explore the natural beauty of the mountains, lakes, forests, and bogs that surround the village.
Kenmare is a small town in the south of County Kerry, Ireland. The name Kenmare is the anglicised form of Ceann Mara, meaning "head of the sea", referring to the head of Kenmare Bay.
Moll’s Gap is a mountain pass on the N71 road from Kenmare to Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. It is part of the Ring of Kerry tourist route, and it offers stunning views of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountains, the lakes and the bogs of the Killarney National Park. Moll’s Gap is named after Moll Kissane, who ran a shebeen (an unlicensed pub) in the 1820s, while the road was under construction. She made Poitin, a hard liquor, for the workers who built the road. The shebeen is no longer there, but you can still see the remains of her cottage near the gap.
Ladies View is one of Killarney's and indeed Ireland's best known scenic viewing points. It is named after Queen Victoria's Ladies in Waiting who were part of her entourage during her visit to Killarney in 1861.
Torc Waterfall is a 20 metres high, 110 metres long cascade waterfall formed by the Owengarriff River as it drains from the Devil's Punchbowl corrie lake at Mangerton Mountain. The waterfall, which lies at the base of Torc Mountain, in the Killarney National Park,

Our guide was terrific. He tailored the visit to our interests and moved along when we were not. He went out of his way to make our trip everything we hoped it would be. Excellent! Highly recommend
We had a beautiful day with Piotr touring the Ring of Kerry. He was a terrific and attentive guide. Perfect trip!
Piotr was an excellent driver and delightful guide. A long but rewarding day! Valencia Island, the round fort, and Kerry Cliffs were highlights….
Kris was very knowledgeable about the history of Ireland and his love for the country was evident. He fulfilled our request for a stop at Skellig 618 distillery and provided exceptional advice to keep us on time so we could make our dinner reservation. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Kris!
We had a perfect day sight seeing with Kris. The tour was better than I had hoped, fantastic from start to finish. Kris is punctual, kind, funny, knowledgeable and truly makes the area come alive. We learned so much and saw so much. I cannot recommend his private tour highly enough.
Ideal way to tour! Kris is a safe and pleasant driver and he customized our stops for our interests! All the local vendors (sheep dog demo, sightseeing highlights) know Kris and we benefitted from his deep knowledge of the region. This was our second tour with him- 100% recommend!
It was a memorable experience being that I was driving solo! Yes, Killarney national park is truly a treasure to behold if not the entire Kerry!
Kris is a gentleman and a scholar! So fun, easy and interactive for the full day. This is the tour to avoid big crowds and to be able to chart your own path around the ring of Kerry.
The weather was actually terrible the day we traveled, however, Kris was a wonderful tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and made the ride from spot to spot extremely enjoyable, we would highly recommend Kris as a tour guide.
Had a wonderful day with Kris. We didn’t have the best weather, but beyond anyone’s control. He was very informative and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Would highly recommend.
We enjoyed our tour with Kris, he has a very calm demeanour, we felt taken care of and we were able to relax as he toured us around the ring of Kerry.
We had a wonderful and informative trip with Kris around the Ring of Kerry on October 6, 2025. Kris was very flexible throughout the entire day and shared many interesting facts and stories. We would definitely recommend using Kris for your travels in Ireland. We wish we could have used him for other portions of our trip. The day went by quickly and it was a joy leaving the driving yo Kris. We highly recommend Kris for the Ring of Kerry and I am sure he is just as outstanding on his other outings. Enjoy your trip. Hit all the highlights with good explanation. Kris was a personable and professional driver and guide.
My wife, daughter, sister in law and I were treated to a delightful and educational tour of the ring of Kerry with Kris M. Tours. We experienced the Bog village, watched the amazing Tom O’Sullivan put his sheepdog through its paces , were wind blown on the Cliffs of Kerry and learned about Irish culture past and present. The whole experience was delightful! We had only positive experiences. If you go, note that the attractions require a fee which supports people whose livelihoods depend on tourism.Just fyi. Thank you Kris! Your knowledge and professionalism are top notch.
Polite but not interested in us. Never asked names. I requested to turn up sound, back of van difficult to hear sound. Long spans of no information “I have nothing more to say.” Driver could not hear questions being asked him in the van. Never offered a microphone for those which I found out afterwards was available. There was a language and knowledge translation difference that made the tour difficult at times. We’ve been in Ireland three times so we had some knowledge. Driver was polite, van very comfortable, water much appreciated. He completed the tour within his time specifications.
Kris was an excellent driver and guide. He customized our day to optimize our group’s interests and stay ahead of the weather forecast. The tour was amazing with great stops for our kids to keep them engaged and amazing views. The cliffs of Kerry are incredible. Doing this with a driver guide made the day much more enjoyable so we could relax and enjoy it instead of worrying about the driving and trying to determine what stops to make and how much time to spend at each place. Would high recommend Kris for any of his tours.
We were able to customize so that we didn’t duplicate with other activities and saw things the big tour buses couldn’t get to. Very nice day.
The trip was perfect - we drove down from Limerick, and our driver, Peter, told us where to park for free. He was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and never made us feel rushed. We saw numerous beautiful sites, learned more about life in the area, and enjoyed the day.
Our day with Kris was simply fantastic and sure to be the highlight of our 10-day visit to Ireland! Kris is quite knowledgeable about the area and very accommodating. The scenery is fantastic and only made better by Kris' descriptions of the history and traditions of the area. Thanks again Kris, and we hope to see you again soon!
Our family had an amazing time with Kris on the Ring of Kerry tour. He was very knowledgeable about Irish history and shared many interesting facts along the journey. We had a beautiful day and saw much more than we would have on a bus tour. Also it was a lot less stressful and more enjoyable to have him driving so we could focus on the beautiful scenery.
Chris is THE person to take you on a personalized tour of the Ring of Kerry. First and foremost - Chris tailored the tour to our itinerary offering fantastic options. Our comfort, safety, and enjoyment were his priorities. He utilizes modern technology with his audio system to be sure everyone could hear the history, stories, and information he shared. He even had short, engaging, and informative videos for all to enjoy on flip screens in his modern van to paint the picture of the time periods and events he was teaching us about. We sincerely just had the best day ever with him. He truly prides himself on creating the most pleasurable experience and we are all forever grateful for the memories we walked away from due to him.
Kris was an exceptional guide on a two day excursion from Killarney. He was highly knowledgeable regarding history and was keenly interested in providing a tour that was personalized for us. He knew of many local stops that we would have never found on our own. We were so appreciative of his driving skills and his kindness.
Kris escorted us through the Ring of Kerry. I'd highly recommend him for any tour. He's knowledgeable and shares his insights in a way that is fun and interesting. He was also very patient, allowing us to explore areas of interest. When the weather was not cooperating, he adjusted to make sure we got the bang for our buck. I will definitely book with Kris the next time we visit.
Wonderful experience. Kris picked the perfect venues along the way. He let us set the pace, allowing us to spend more/less time at each spot based on our interests. We will definitely book with him again.
A trip to Ireland is something not to be missed. But booking a private tour with Kris M Tours is an absolute must! We booked two tours with Kris- Dingle and Ring of Kerry. Kris is not only a magician behind the wheel of his luxury vehicle, he is a wealth of knowledge about the land and history. His witty sense of humor was a perk. We spent 14 days traversing the southern half of Ireland and our tours with Kris were the best experiences we had in Ireland. Definitely Recommend!!! Jeff and Angie- USA
We had a fantastic day with Kris who showed us some of the tourist spots, but also took us to places the tour buses can’t go. We were able to go at our own pace and Kris was the perfect guide, fun, and very knowledgeable. Book it!
Very informative. Plenty of time to see all the sights. Cliffs of Kerry spectacular. Enjoyed learning some history of the area and Ireland
The roads through moll gap are not as bad as Connor pass in dingle but can cause some congestion. The cliffs of Kerry were worth the trip. The sheep herder was incredible. And the waterfall was beautiful. Kris had video for my mom when she could not do the hike. Well thought out.
Kris was outstanding. He made the entire day so much fun and took us to places that we would not have been able to go on a bus tour. We didn’t have to rush and could stay as long or as short as we wanted at any of the locations. My family even got to hold a little baby lamb thanks to Kris(that was really special). We had an amazing lunch at a local pub, honestly some of the best food we’ve had since being in ireland(thanks to Kris). I highly reccomend using Kris for any of the tours he offers if you are in Ireland. He was professional, very educational and catered to our every need and want. Thank you so much Kris for such a great day.
The tour was wonderful even though the weather did not cooperate on some portion of the tour. Kris our tour guide did his best to make the tour educational and fun. All the stops were awesome we enjoyed it tremendously! Would recommend this tour to all!
My group was a group of 4 and we absolutely loved the Ring of Kerry Tour. There were many options I researched for the tours on the Ring of Kerry and I am so glad we went with this one. The decision to pay more for a private guide was well worth every penny. Some of the roads are narrow with a sharp cliff. I would have been a nervous wreck on a large tour bus. The private tour also allowed for more conversation back and forth when we had questions. Not having to drag 20+ people on and off a bus meant we were also able to more quickly see the sights, eat, lunch, and take pics. This helped us make the most of the day and see much more than the larger group tours offered. It also allowed us to be picked up at our AirBnb which was quite helpful as we were about 17 minutes outside the city center. When planning our trip to Kerry, I was worried we weren’t staying long enough or that we should be spending more time on the Ring of Kerry. This was perfect to fit a lot in just one day when you are limited by a schedule. We never felt rushed or that we missed anything. We hit all the highlights and had some amazing opportunities for photos and interaction with our surroundings. Kris was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. My only recommendation would be, if going in fall/winter, starting at 9 am. We booked to start at 10 and the last hour the sun was going down so the final stop (torque waterfall) was dark and we missed the muckross. Truly an amazing day and worth every penny and more. Highly, highly, highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day visiting the Ring of Kerry with our guide Kris. The views were beautiful and Kris was very informative.
Our tour through the Ring of Kerry was amazing today! Kris was very kind and patient during the whole tour. His recommendations and guidance were perfect. We were blessed with beautiful weather and saw some breathtaking views.
We loved all the stops. Kris was very knowledgeable and charming. The perfect balance of riding in the car and getting out and walking to enjoy the sights. We always felt we could take all the time we wanted. Kris took us to a great restaurant. The food was great. If we are ever in Ireland again we would take one of his tours
Trip was great and Kris helped with lots of facts and information (history) . He was also making sure everyone was safe, knew next bathroom breaks , and very pleasant to be with.
Very enjoyable day just sitting back and taking in all the beauty of the area. Our driver Piotr was very knowledgeable and explained the area very well. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Kris was very nice and informative! It rained all day but when it cleared up at the end of our tour he took us to an extra stop to make up for it.
Absolutely the best day ever! Kris did a great job of communicating with us throughout the day - personalizing our trip. He is very knowledgeable of the area and made great recommendations for stops throughout the day. Would highly recommend this tour to any small group - our group of 6 enjoyed every moment!
Kris was terrific, adjusted the trip on our family. Learned so much about the area and history. Highly recommend. Travelled with 2 young adult children. Van was nice size for us.
The Kerry Cliffs, Ladies View and Torc Waterfall were fantastic. We also visited a number of ancient ring forts. Kris our tour guide was excellent.
What a wonderful tour of the Ring of Kerry. After driving the Dingle peninsula on our own , this was a relaxing way to see the ring. Kris was amazing, offering great history and stories and great viewpoints/stops that kept both the adults and kids entertained. It was my daughter’s bday and he made her feel special and included side activities to keep her smiling. Kris never rushed us and made a point to tell us to enjoy the moment and not feel pressure to get to the next stop! I would highly recommend Kris and tour with him again.
This was the BEST experience we have ever had! Kris was so nice and generous. He was able to tell us all about the different places we went to and make it fun for the whole family! He was very patient with us and knowledgeable too. We dawdled at most every stop yet he NEVER rushed us. Very sweet man! Highly recommended. Thanks Kris!
Kris was an excellent tour guide for our family of four. We never felt rushed and he encouraged us to take our time and explore at our leisure. He was friendly and informative and shared a wealth of knowledge of the history of the area which added so much color to our experience. He was a safe driver and we were so glad we weren’t driving the narrow mountain roads ourselves. This was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. Thank you, Kris!
Kris was outstanding as a tour guide. He was very patient with our family of four and encouraged us to take our time and enjoy the sites as long as we wanted. We never felt rushed. He shared a wealth of information about the history of the area, which added so much color to our tour. He took us to sites we never would have found on our own and we enjoyed every one. He was a very safe driver- would definitely not have wanted to drive those narrow mountain roads on our own.
Kristoffer was amazing! An experienced and hospitable tour guide and driver. We had fun and learned a lot. It was extremely enjoyable. Thank you so much for everything. Highly recommended!
Such a great time and an awesome host. Kris made sure our day was fun and complete. We saw so much in one day at our own pace. Would highly recommend touring this way without the hassle of a bus and required time format.
Kris was a wonderful, knowledgeable, and entertaining guide! We were traveling with my 75 year old mother, and he tailored the tour to her needs. Very accommodating. I highly recommend!
My friends and I had a fantastic experience on the tour. Kris was so friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We had one of the best travel days imaginable and after wished we had allotted more time to stay in Kerry. All of the spots we were shown on the tour took our breath away and Kris took us many places we would not have thought to go outside of the tour. We not only got to see, and explore the sites but were also able to interact with some wild life all thanks to Kris and his knowledge of Kerry. Could not recommend this tour more and we will be raving about it to anyone who will listen.
We had a very special day as a family with Kris to see the Ring of Kerry. Kris was kind, flexible, and took us on an extensive and fabulous tour. Our stops offered great experiences (e.g. a sheepdog herding demo) and incredible sights and vistas (e.g. Cliffs of Kerry). Kris provided tons of history, stories and info along the way. He clearly tailors the tour each day to the people on it. Highly recommend his service!
