We booked a private Ring of Kerry tour with John for our group of four, and it was the perfect way to kick off our Ireland vacation. We traveled to Killarney for a week long golf trip in mid August and were in need of transportation, as the majority of courses were an hour plus away. Incredible! Our driver , John O’Reilly was amazing. He drove us to Valentina Island, Cliffs of Kerry, Ring forts, all along the Ring of Kerry with multiple stops for viewing and photo taking. He shared many stories, folklore and history throughout the day. What a pleasure to take the trek anxiety free while he drove so we could take it all in. I cannot say enough in words how wonderful and worthwhile he made this trip. Highly recommend!!!

Amazing tour, John is so knowledgeable about the history of Ireland and the information about the region. It was absolutely delightful learning about everything that we were seeing and doing. We are going home with a much better understanding of the people and the land.

After spending a full day with him, I can confidently say those reviews were absolutely accurate. First, if you’re visiting County Kerry, make sure you do a full-day Ring of Kerry tour. It was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Ireland. The scenery is breathtaking at every turn and truly deserves its reputation as one of Ireland’s must-see destinations. Second, hire 10 Degrees West. John is the owner of 10 Degrees West. Having John handle the driving removed all the stress from a long day of sightseeing and allowed us to simply relax and enjoy the experience. We’ve had mixed experiences with driver-guides in the past. Sometimes they’re excellent drivers but offer very little insight along the way. John delivers both. Having grown up in the area, he has an incredible depth of knowledge about County Kerry and Ireland as a whole. What impressed me most was the range of topics he could speak about with ease—history, geography, geology, wildlife, culture, local traditions, and even food. Beyond his knowledge, John is a genuine people person. He’s engaging, personable, and an excellent communicator. He also knows all the hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path stops that most visitors would never discover on their own. Overall, it was an outstanding day and one of the best tour experiences we’ve had anywhere. We are extremely happy we chose 10 Degrees West and would highly recommend both the company to anyone visiting Kerry.

My husband and I experienced Ireland for the first time with dear friends we’ve adventured with many times since the 1990s. We spent a full day with John touring the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Ring. John was a phenomenal guide and was very accommodating, picking us up in Cork City early so we could make the most of our day. We had 4 adults in our group and the ride was extremely comfortable. John himself was a wealth of knowledge. Every stop was spectacular, including our lunch in a small pub with a cozy fireplace. We felt like VIPs touring with John. This was my third trip to Ireland, and I can say a private tour with is the way to go! Also, having now seen both Cliffs of Moher and Kerry Cliffs, I felt Kerry Cliffs are way better! This was every person's favorite day on our 9-day trip!

Our driver John was absolutely wonderful! He shared fascinating information about the history of all the sites and was very kind to our kids. We had a fantastic time!

Now that we have returned home and are back to driving on the right side of the road, we took some time to look at all our pictures last night. John was like a brother to us ❤️ We felt welcome, we got to see parts of the area that you don't see on a bigger tour, we learned about the history of the area and the country, and John's love and pride in his responsibility as an ambassador for the area and the country were abundantly shared with us. We were able to relax, enjoy the ride, we learned so much from John, and we saw only one tour bus all day! Our photos are brilliant! John took a lot of pictures of my husband and I, that I will treasure, because usually only one of us is in the photos as the other is the photographer! We are already thinking of when and how we can get back to the Killarney area and the wild and wonderful Atlantic Coast. We would call John again in a heartbeat! Well done John!

This tour was nothing less than incredible! We were picked up at our hotel and we started out on an 8 hour day of fun. The tour was filled with so much interesting information, fabulous sights and history. John is fantastic!! His car is comfortable, he is an expert on the area, and he made tht whole day fun. This tour was the highlight of our Ireland trip.

John O'Reilly, our guide, did an outstanding job taking us to all of the "usual" places plus a whole bunch more. He was also very accommodating when one of our party got sick the night before our scheduled excursion. John was knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent driver on very narrow, winding roads. He took us to places the buses cannot reach, covered all of the highlights and really knew a lot of information about the history of places and significant people. We had a special request for seeing an event along the way, and he immediately went to work to make it happen for us. The Ring of Kerry is a scenic marvel on its own, but John’s knowledge of the history and out of the way sights along the way made this a truly personal trip for all four of us women. Our guide John was amazing. Very knowledge and cordial. This was a great way to see the countryside without having to worry about navigating the narrow, twisting roads. Since it was a private tour we could customize where we wanted to go, and the smaller vehicle allowed us to get into heritage sites that the huge buses can’t get to. We loved the Kerry Cliffs more than the Cliffs of Moher. It was a great value for the money!

We booked John based on a recommendation and we were not disappointed! He was absolutely amazing from minute one! I was in Ireland on Business with my wife and we extended our trip for a personal holiday. My wife injured her knee and instead of our original plan to take the train from Dublin to Kerry, John changed his plans and came and got us. He personally drove us for around to multiple locations for 4 full days and instead accommodated my wife and essentially made our trip, the trip of a lifetime! His personal knowledge of the area allowed us to see the true beauty of Ireland up close and personal despite my wife’s injury and secured John a place as a member of our family for a lifetime!
