We did a girls trip to the lake hotel and the staff made our short time here memorable. The rooms are spacious, the views are stunning, and staff is very friendly/helpful. They have maps available to help you explore the surrounding area, and filtered water for guests. Having the Castle on site/walkable was also a bonus after dinner to explore. Hilda's restaurant requires a reservation for dinner and is worth it - especially the desserts are far above expectations/extravagant! I wish I could've brought some of the dessert back home on my flight! Additionally, the staff (shout out to Claire) was very helpful in holding onto/sending forgotten items back to their owners when requested.

Excellent hotel. The location is amazing. The service was top tier. Breakfast had a lot of variety and was good quality. We only had later meals in the bistro restaurant. They were all good, perhaps a bit pricy but not beyond reason. We had a fifth floor room that gave an excellent view, but one thing I'd point out: you can see in the picture the other floors have a metal railing with gaps you can see through, while the top floor has a solid wall. If you are sitting on the balcony on the top floor, a shorter person can see the mountains but not the lake (standing you can still see both). Still a great view, just sharing. If we return to the area, I wouldn't consider any other hotels.
We really enjoyed our stay here in a family lake view room and wished we stayed a few more days here instead of at the so called “5 star” castle hotels. The staff was friendly, the views were amazing, and the hotel felt comfortable and charming. We enjoyed the thermal spa (I highly recommend it-the online pictures don’t do it justice). Nightly music at the bar was excellent. Overall, a great hotel!
We had such a lovely time here! We were doing a roadtrip around Ireland after we got married & this was one of our favorite stays 😍 The staff was amazing. They gave us a nice upgrade for our honeymoon! The rooms were clean. The spa was nice and so was the gym! We enjoyed the saunas & pool. The breakfast was AMAZING as well! The entire property & hotel is so beautiful! We will definitely be back!
This is truly a 4 star hotel. For all nature lovers, the location couldn’t be more perfect! Right next to the national park, and surrounded by nature and the lake ahead. The staff were AMAZING, kind, and professional. We had dinner at Hilda’s cafe and the Guinness stew and rhubarb dessert were phenomenal! Some of the best food we had during our entire trip across ireland. The breakfast add on was such a treat and even though it was a buffet, it felt very classy and was lovely served in the main dining area with views of the lake! The overall decor served medieval meets some cozy irish modern. Our room was very large, with a wardrobe, bathroom, and seating area and patio facing the water. The thermal suite was out of this world and is 5/5 stars alone!! If you’re considering booking this, please do! you won’t regret it! We got so lucky to have the place to ourselves at the time we went, and that was so special. The showers, sauna, and outdoor infinity hot tub was just incredible! Now, the reason i gave this 4/5 stars overall. The room could be re-worked as the fridge and coffee maker were on top of one another right at the entrance. I would move it to the window it just feels cramped at the entry. Then the main event, the noise… it’s clearly an older building, that naturally has some noises. That’s fine, however, you can hear every neighbors door slam shut, and we were room 338 at the end of the hall, by a corridor and elevator. So. The noise was not fun and really made the experience so much worse for us. Woke us up through the night and even during the day the thuds from upstairs and surrounding us were extremely irritating. I attached a video here. Lastly, the bed was horrendous and dipped in the middle soooo bad. Definitely time for upgrades I know this hotel can afford (get the beds and linens that the Hoxton in dublin has!) Overall, The Lake hotel is a charming place close to so much nature and has a lot of luxurious touches. However, if you are a light sleeper sensitive to noise I would avoid this hotel (I am not and the noise was too much for me so that says a lot about room 338 at least)
