To paraphrase a well known retailer - This is not just afternoon tea. This is Aghadoe Heights afternoon tea. We had the new menu and it is wonderful! There is a course with the traditional scone and preserves but it’s the other courses that shine and I’d recommend going there with a mostly empty tummy. The quality of the food, the execution and presentation and the service from Maura and Clodagh were all top shelf and our group of three had a most enjoyable 2 or 3 hours there. I heartily recommend this as an experience to savour whilst in Killarney.
This was a lovely 3 night stay in May 2026. We were pampered with great rooms, spa facility, dining, and wonderful service. The surrounding grounds with rolling hillside, relics and graveyard were wonderful to explore after dinner.
We had the good fortune to have Les from the Dining area spend time with us mapping out our travels with inside tips for Killarney and Dingle. He truly made a difference in our experience and will always be grateful to him.

My two close friends and I wanted to get away from Dublin for a short relaxing break somewhere with a nice view, a spa, and a pool — and we had a wonderful experience at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa.
We stayed for just one night, but it was truly relaxing and very rewarding. I especially loved the sauna area — they have three great saunas — and the pools were excellent too. The indoor pool and the warm pool were perfect, especially because the weather was very rainy during our stay, so it was great to still enjoy the facilities comfortably.
The rooms are very spacious, the cleanliness of the hotel is excellent, and towels were always replenished. The reception staff were fantastic, and from check-in to the luggage assistance and the restaurant team, everyone was very welcoming and professional.
We only had breakfast there, but it was delicious. There was a great variety of fruits, porridge, juices, and hot food options as well.
Our room had a beautiful lake view, which made the stay even more special. The city itself is also lovely, with many parks to walk around and explore.
The hotel also has a gym, which is good to have. I think the gym could benefit from some newer equipment in the future, but honestly this didn’t affect our overall experience at all.
We really had a very relaxing stay and I definitely recommend this hotel if you want to take a break from routine and enjoy some time to rest. For us, it was absolutely worth the price. 🌿🧖♀️🏨✨
The Spa services and facilities are exactly what anyone would need to relax, disconnect and feel better. The views are breathtaking. Ana and Andrea, the masseuses, delivered a very professional service and a very individualized massage. 10/10. Thanks for improving our day, our week and OUR MONTH!!! We will be back💗
Overall our stay was ok. I had very high expectations when booking this hotel because it had been awarded one of the top 100 hotels in Ireland, however I would not rate this 5 star. From the minute you arrive there is no 5 star welcome. Normally you would expect someone to help you unload your luggage and load it back up when leaving but this was not the case. Barely had anyone offer to help, if at all. The breakfast was ok but not 5 star. Staff at breakfast were very friendly. Rooms were nice and spacious however the water that was in the room for guests , one of them was unsealed and used. Stains on the carpet which you wouldn’t expect. My childhood teddy bear went missing from my room one day and was found in the wash the next, but this caused a lot of unnecessary stress. The location was fab and I had a lovely massage in the spa, however the facilities in the thermal suite need a revamp. Also small things like when I arrived to the thermal spa there were empty cups lying around and towels left behind. You would expect in a 5 star for all this to be constantly maintained . I would rate this 4 star max . When I compare it to other 5 stars in Killarney it is not on par . But overall our stay was good.
