Extremely disappointed. I booked a two-night stay several weeks in advance to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. At the time of booking, I specifically requested a river-view room and made the hotel fully aware of the special occasion. Given the advance notice and the number of river-view rooms available, I expected that request to be honoured or, at the very least, given proper consideration. Instead, we were allocated a room overlooking a gravel car park and what appeared to be a service entrance. Rather than enjoying a relaxing anniversary break, we spent our stay listening to coaches arriving and departing, deliveries being made, and general service activity taking place directly beneath our window. The situation was made even worse by the fact that the cleaners' storeroom was located immediately outside our room. Staff regularly congregated there with cleaning trolleys, resulting in constant noise from conversations, moving equipment, and rustling laundry. Each time we left our room, we were forced to manoeuvre around bags of bed linen, laundry, and cleaning trolleys left in the corridor. What is most frustrating is that this was not a last-minute booking. The hotel had weeks of notice, knew we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, and yet chose to place us in what felt like one of the least desirable rooms in the property (127). The complete disregard for our request and the special occasion left us feeling undervalued as guests. This should have been a memorable and enjoyable anniversary celebration. Instead, it was a hugely disappointing experience that fell far short of the standards and consideration I would expect from any hotel claiming to provide quality guest accommodation.

We had a wonderful stay at River Court Kilkenny Hotel. Our suite had a balcony overlooking Kilkenny Castle, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. We spent so much time just relaxing and enjoying the scenery because the room was so comfortable. We were lucky to have beautiful blue skies for most of the weekend, which made the view even more special. The dinner was also delicious and definitely worth including in your stay. If you’re planning a getaway in Kilkenny, I highly recommend staying here.
Excellent stay last weekend with my baby as part of a hen party. Cannot thank the staff enough, I found myself staying on my own with my baby due to the fuel protests. The ladies on reception were so welcoming and helped with my luggage. The restaurant delivered my meal to the room, it was lovely. The hotel is great and the staff definitely made my stay enjoyable and relaxing.
Good hotel located in the centre of kilkenny. Room was nice, clean and big, and despite it overlooking the main street it was quiet. Slightly odd setup that the quickest way to the hotel room was to leave the building and walk across the car park, but there was an option to walk through the hotel also. Bar was good, just went there for a drink, not food. Breakfast is self service and a good choice of hot and cold food.
Myself and my partner got married in the River Court hotel on 2nd June 2017. From the first days of planning to the day of the wedding was just so easy. The staff were brilliant and everthing was handled so professionally. The day went without a hitch and the food was just fabulous. The Location is just perfect too with Kilkenny Castle as the backdrop along side the river. I would not have any hesitation in recommend this hotel for your wedding or ever a dirty weekend lol
