The room was fairly spacious and well-equipped although the bathroom was very poorly designed. You could literally brush your teeth while sitting on the toilet and could not turn on the light unless the bathroom door was wide open if you needed to make a mid night visit and did not want to disturb anyone else who was sharing your bed. The complimentary cocktail and included breakfast were very nice. Wish they had a place to exercise.
Lovely hotel. Very comfy bed. Staff very helpful. Long service of staff lauded by owners with many staff working there for years. It's always a good sign when staff are treated well enough to stay. Lovely live acoustic singer in the bar that evening. Breakfast was good.
What a great hotel! We stayed at another hotel on the same block, and the Hibernian was amazing in comparison. The welcome cocktail voucher was a very friendly touch, and the included breakfast would have cost at least 15 euro pp at a restaurant. The ceiling fan was a great touch, and moved enough air to keep things cool while you slept (during an unusually warm irish summer). Rooms were decorated in bright colours and design was fun, and chic. Bed was excellent for our liking. Two options for thickness of pillows as well. The only critique I have is the elevator was painfully slow, but this hotel executed so many things so well, I'll gladly take the stairs when I need to. Would absolutely go back anytime I'm in Kilkenny.
We stayed for one night in September 2026 - we really enjoyed our stay! We were impressed by how spacious the rooms/bathrooms were and didn’t expect the king size beds which were very comfortable. The hotel has a “grand” feel with the tall ceilings and large windows which we enjoyed. We appreciated the welcome drinks - the bar has a lot of character and we received great service there. We loved the live music! Some of the best of our trip. Breakfast was good in the morning. We’d definitely stay again when back in Kilkenny.
All was good check in opens 4pm the young staff in the reception were nice and friendly . Rooms were beautiful and clean and lot of space for toddler to walk and play too . The rooms were quiet and the location is good , easy to get here from train station by walk . Breakfast is included the price and all is good , Kilkenny area here is safe and lots caffee with beautiful characters , so this hotel is good. Had food in the bar it came quickly and didn’t have to book because it was only 6pm . It was great for easy access to hotel, all was clean and lot of space for siting . I ate the seafood chowder with vegetables was nice brown bread too. They have lift if u have child with buggy trolley or suitcases and storage .
