Had a great comfortable time at Serena hotel. First time in Rwanda and they were very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were solid, pool was nice and it was a different feeling hotel but in a good way. Specifically the breakfast staff was super nice! Emma NK, Amigo, and the woman working the Omelettes were very kind and great to us. Some very kind staff working hard! Recommend for sure!

Kigali Serena hotel is a very nice hotel. Room is large and modern. It has good A/C, TV with many cable channels, reliable hot water, electric kettle, hairdryer, mini bar, and all the hotel accessories that you expect. A couple of small dings to the review: the mini fridge is stored in an enclosed armoire with no ventilation. It was very hot inside the cabinet and the interior of the fridge was not cold. I had to pull the fridge out of the cabinet onto the carpet, to make it work properly. Then the room service would constantly put it away, so that the minifridge basically never works and the TV cabinet is burning hot to the touch. The room is very dark with only a desk lamp for light. A few LED ceiling mounted lights would be helpful. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. Great variety and good long hours, 6.30till 10am. The pool, Massage and sauna are all top notch and very nice. Overall, it's a great hotel.
I recently stayed at Serena Kigali, and once again, Serena lived up to its reputation. All Serena hotels I've visited have consistently delivered excellent service. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, the accommodation was comfortable, and the rooms were neat with clean, fresh linen. My only suggestion would be to pay a little more attention to cleaning the bathtubs, as mine could have been cleaned more thoroughly. One area that stood out for the wrong reason was my experience at reception. Unfortunately, the Guest Relations Manager was not very welcoming and came across as unfriendly during our interaction. I had never met her before, so I was surprised by the attitude. I hope she can work on providing a warmer and more professional welcome, as it would greatly enhance the guest experience. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would still recommend Serena Kigali.
Serena Kigali offers a really comfortable and professional stay. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and well prepared options. The pool area is relaxing, the gym is very well equipped, and the conference facilities are ideal for business events or meetings. Overall, it is a great choice for both work and leisure in Kigali.
I came for an early business breakfast at 8:40am, which gave me a chance to observe the hotel at its busiest. The hotel itself is in good condition, but the style feels dated — somewhere between the late 1990s and early 2000s. It reminded me strongly of the Moscow Country Club (that was build in 1990th), a golf resort hotel built in the Moscow suburbs in the same era. If you know that reference, you'll know exactly what I mean. I arrived slightly early and found every table occupied. I waited and chatted with the hostess for a few minutes — and then, almost as if on cue, the entire restaurant emptied at once. Clearly the hotel sits in the business district, and everyone left for their meetings at the same time. Breakfast: tasty, good selection, friendly staff. Reminded me somewhat of the Radisson Blu. Unfortunately I couldn't fully enjoy it — the business meeting took over, and then I had to leave quickly. Overall: a vintage hotel with good service and a solid breakfast. Well maintained, but in need of a design refresh.
