It was an informative and easily followed self guided tour. Unfortunately, a road closure halfway through the tour terminated it.

Itinerary
Prepare to embark on a drive through paradise! This tour takes you through all the most beautiful, most exciting parts of Kauai. Discover the very best this island has to offer from the comfort of your car or a rental. NOTE: The tour is over 35+ miles long, with more than 60+ audio stories, and takes about 2-3 hours to complete. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.
Your first stop is Kalapaki, home to a pristine white beach and some impossibly calm water, thanks to a sea wall which keeps the waves at bay.
Get a dose of Hawaiian history at the Sugarcane & Grove Farm, where you'll learn about how this cash crop forever altered the course of Hawaii's future.
You won't have to wait long to experience some of Kauai's signature jungle beauty. The "Tree Tunnel" is a mile-long tunnel of eucalyptus trees which make for some seriously picturesque driving.
Get a glimpse into the past at Old Koloa Town, a quaint little village dating back to the days of sugar plantations.
Those hoping to learn more about Hawaii's sugar history can take a detour to an old sugar mill next.
Why settle for one beach when you can have two in one spot? Poipu Beach consists of two sandy crescents forming a double beach, and is a perfect spot for swimming, snorkeling, and much more.
Continuing on, you'll reach the Hanapepe Valley Lookout. Don't forget to bring a camera when you check out these outstanding views!
In the town of Hanapepe you'll encounter the Hanapepe Swinging Bridge. This fun attraction might seem unstable when the weather turns windy, but don't worry, it's actually supposed to sway as much as it does!
Up next is a truly strange historical landmark: a Russian fort left over from a failed invasion attempt! Get to know the story behind it as you explore this peculiar piece of history.
You'll then pass Niihau, also known as The Forbidden Island. This privately-owned island has been forbidden to visitors for generations.
Your route takes you next past an unusual attraction, the Red Dirt Waterfall. This waterfall is exactly what it sounds like; it gets its red color from a high concentration of iron in the soil.
The Kukui Trail, up next, is a great option for experienced hikers, while those looking for an easier trek will love the Iliau Nature Loop. Both are great ways to get better acquainted with Kauai's gorgeous natural scenery.
Your route leads next to the so-called "Grand Canyon of the Pacific": Waimea Canyon. If anything on this trip is an absolute must-see, it's this. You truly won't believe your eyes!
For the best look at the Waimea Canyon, proceed to the Pu'u Hinahina Lookout. Here, you'll have the chance to snap some photos that are guaranteed to make your friends jealous!
If you want to actually trek into the canyon itself, you'll come next to the Waimea Canyon Trails, offering incredible hikes for all experience levels--as well as plenty of extra viewpoints!
Want some souvenirs and a bit of extra education? Check out the Koke'e Natural History Museum, a free museum dedicated to the island's flora and fauna.
Up next is Koke'e State Park, an essential stop if you haven't gotten enough of hiking and smelling wildflowers.
One of the last lookouts on your tour is the Kalalau Lookout, offering spectacular views from the highest point accessible by road on the whole island.
Next is the Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park, featuring dramatic bluffs and crashing waves. It's no wonder Hollywood has used this as a filming location more than once, including for one of the Jurassic Park movies!
Finally, you'll arrive at one last vista: Pu'u O Kila Lookout. The tour will conclude at this stunning overlook.

Confusing messages. Do I need a ticket or not? Where is the starting point? Once we figured it out, the trip was fun. Wish there was something to get the storyteller louder, But the stories were great and we had a good time listening to them.
Worked great. Very informative.
Where to start trip was not clear at first. Directions were good. Everything went fine until I was in Waimea Valley close to the park when I encountered a road closure. They blamed it on the hurricane but I think they were just repaving.
Enjoyable facts and history about the island for a very low price for as many as you want to stuff into you vehicle. Takes you too a few really cool places like Gilligan’s Island filming location
Very informative. Great for a rainy day or if you are driving on the highway. The hiking trails were closed due the recent hurricane, so this was a nice option
The ap was good during the trip, however at the end the ap left you and did not give you any idea as to how to get back to start point
My husband and I saw so many tour groups in trolleys and busses going through this island. We did our own driving tour and took our time…so much better! The history was very interesting. It was nice to be able to replay things we might have missed hearing. Don’t you hate when your guides sound muffled on busses? Not this time! It was so clear and informative. Absolutely recommend. If you download this before your visit, you can plan your days around the tour. Stop at places you find interesting or skip the things that sound “meh”.
Not very user friendly. Once you get it figured out though it is a nice way to experience the island with some insight and backstories.
We used this self drive guide in Kauai. It was good and sent us in the right directions. It also gave some history on the island. Overall it was good
We purchased the tour that took us through Poipu and Kaloa area. We had 4 hours to fill and this was absolutely perfect! We loved the places they guided us to, the history and information behind the sites and the stories shared between locations. It was great to be able to go at our own pace and go back and listen to it again if we wanted to. The GPS guide was perfect. Great way to get to know the island and some of its history! Would totally do it again!
It is great once you’re able to figure out how to use it! We really enjoyed it how we it took almost an hour to figure it out- make sure you download it and get it working before you leave your WiFi. Customer service is great however they are only there until 6:00pm EST if you’re in a different time zone beware.
This is a really helpful and effective guide for when you’re renting a car and exploring. It worked great and we enjoyed it very much.
Very easy to use. Enjoyed the stories between the stops. Gave good advice about roads and parking. Thanks
It was a great experience! Everyone who want to take tours without spending a lot of money; this is the way to go!
Very easy to follow. Interesting history lessons along the way. Especially liked stories about movies and tv show film sites. It was fun to see the Gillian’s Island set.
This download app worked well for our purposes. Be sure to begin at the starting point. You cannot start in the middle of the tour. Also, you have to check your driving speed so the narrator does not cut off before he is finished talking. Two programs downloaded, but I could only figure out how to use one. The narrator was interesting with good stories, sidelines, facts and island history. It was just the right length. We really enjoyed it !!
Tour was good, very informative. Was a little painful to start is Lihue only, when we were staying in Princeville. Would have been nice to have an option to start the tour in Princeville. Waimea Canyon and the park were fabulous, and the tour did a good job of directing us thru it. A few things could be updated on the tour, but overall, we loved it. Never would have found the secret beach! Never would have gone to Hanalei either.
We loved this! We learned so much about what we were seeing and we think found places we would never have found without it ( Secret Beach!) He talks just enough and you can detour off easily and do small portions at a time, if you wish. We regretted we did not do this while in Kona.
As others have said, it takes a bit until you figure out the starting location and how to use the app. It then works fairly well. Interesting historical stories told. One suggestion - it would be helpful if the app gave a general approximation of how far the next stop was.
This audiotour was a great way to learn about Kauai and find some hidden jewels we wouldn't have seen otherwise. There are a couple of things we'd change, like it would occasionally skip over some of the tour spots, or the next description would start prior to finishing the one that was playing. It would also be nice if the descriptions would change depending on the direction you travel. They do change order but you have to remember to change right/left in the description to the other way. Overall, would recommend and would buy again.
Good easy to use self guided tour of Kuai North Shore. There are a few suggestions on the way that require advance reservations like the Botanical Gardens, so maybe look at the itinerary and plan for this if you want to. It was a very informative and easy to navigate trip without any of the extras.
It was so easy to download and use. Loved the history and music along with the directions. Loved it!
Very easy to use and adaptable to fit the locations we wanted to visit. The narrative was very informative.
Great way to learn more and explore the island on your own time. We loved hearing the stories and suggestions of the little detours we could take.
Terrific narration with plenty of included sights and lots of history of the area. App is very easy to use. Highly recommend.
A great way to go to have time for a person with limited mobility to enjoy the stops. Enjoyed the tour guides history & information.
POOR! Waste of money! GPS Guide in the APP was terrible! It got us lost 2 times! The APP was supposed to pick up guidance when starting your trip from the closest point of interest. It didn't pick up our location until we took out a map figured out where is needed to go. NOT RECOMMENDED!
The App user interface was easy and intuitive to use. The tour facts were incredibly interesting and engaging. Our whole family enjoyed the sights and information. This self-guided tour was a terrific way to see sights and learn history on our own schedule and at our own pace. We liked that we could pause the tour, eat lunch, and then resume the tour.
We enjoyed hearing the history and stories while seeing the sights. It was very informative and his voice was easy to listen to. It was easy to use and the price is right.
This self guided tour was exceptional! We toured the island of Kauai with many beautiful places to see and things to do. The tour guided us and told the stories of each area. It was an inexpensive way to see the whole island at your own pace and I would highly recommend this self guided tour! We loved it!
Great narration with plentiful opportunities to stop and explore lead to a fun filled entire day. We also skipped a few stops and liked how the app just kept going as we drove.
Best money spent on the island. We had a half day trip and planning for another one or two. We had two directions for our tours - so basically two tours; we spread it out for three days and had a great time. Definitely recommend it!
Great low cost option for first timers to the island. This hit all sorts of locations and took a lot of the legwork out of planning. I definitely recommend previewing it ahead of time and purchasing tickets for sites you are interested in. I waited too long and the lighthouse was sold out. We did it in two different days- each half was a solid half day plus trip, but we did do a lot of stopping
The Audio sometimes skips or doesn’t finish the story. Time between destinations should be mentioned as well as times to arrive in minutes or hours to the next sestination
Great to have in the car while driving around the island. Worked great with the gps- even if we didn’t start at the starting point. We made stops we would never have made without it- including a perfect little hidden beach at sunset.
Directions were good. Audio history was informative. A couple of stops on itinery were closed. Some places had entry fees. Best to Google stops on itinerary before setting out to eliminate surprises. Park fees paid by credit card.
This tour was great. It kept us entertained and the views along the way are amazing. We divided the tour over two days and saw the views from water level to the top of the mountain. We would definitely do it again to see several more places along the route.
The Audio was not synced with GPS. We were never on the right path from the very beginning. This was A complete waste of money!
We rented a car and purchased the audio tour. The audio tour guide was easy to follow. We could take our time at the stops we wanted to see. The Waimea Canyon was awesome. It was funny to see it so green when the Grand Canyon is so brown! Kauai is so pretty!
Overall we really enjoyed hearing the content and found the app easy to use. We appreciated the ability of the app to update when we took slight deviations to explore. However, our only hiccup was that the road to the last stop on Kauai was closed for construction and we didn’t have a good bead on how far it was from Pu’u o kila Lookout to the end of Kokee Road. Since there wasn’t any WiFi in the area to map the distance, we ended up walking all the way for very little reward. Current construction updates would be a good, helpful addition.
This was definitely worth purchasing! We followed the instructions to download and get the tour ready before we left our hotel. We listened to the first one (welcome to Kauai) before we left our hotel because we didn’t want to drive back to Lihue to start, so we just picked up from Poipu. We were SO GLAD we listened to that one like we did because I actually had no idea we would not be able to drive a circle around the island, so we were prepared for an in and out drive. Looking forward to doing the other part in a couple days. Thank you!!
This was perfect, we got a great education of historical sites and we’re able to enjoy at our pace. Would highly recommend excellent for the price.
This tour truly allowed us to experience Kaua’i. When we first arrived on the island, we were just driving to places around the resort. This tour took us to so many beautiful places that we wouldn’t have known about without it. So many hidden gems. I loved that it was only me and my husband, and we weren’t bothered with a group of strangers and a tour guide. The audio was entertaining and provided a lot of history. We spent as much or as little time as WE wanted at each stop. This self guided tour was so much fun and so adventurous! It allowed us to create wonderful memories.
It was a stress free way to take a driving tour! Would recommend this to anyone wanting to tour on their own!
Wonderful to have personal guide along for the ride. Interesting, light and educational all at once. Accurate GPS and great directions for turns and stops.
Sufficient guided tour, it would have been more helpful if it could direct us to the starting point when we were off track.
We I got it to work it was good, but we were already part way through the trip . Not user friendly to get program set up
out for a drive on the big island , close to Parker Ranch , stopped in the mall in Waikea at the food court , and ordered a medium pepperoni with light sauce , was very hot , actually had to wait a bit for it to cool down so as not get burned. tasted great
Worked great, information was insightful and saved us some money and hassle by recommending a lookout only a little farther down the road from the main entrance to the canyon.
