Gray was a fantastic tour guide of the island. He’s lived there a long time and knows a lot about the history and flora and fauna. He’s funny and entertaining to boot!

Very enjoyable day stopping to see or quickly explore various locations on North and east side of Kauai. Orlando met us right inside the harbor (we arrived in Pride of America) and we were quickly on our way in a very comfortable car. He drove very responsibly and provided lots of information about each location and highlights as we drove. They even modified the schedule when we wanted to walk out to the lighthouse at the Kilauea Lighthouse Wildlife Refuge as opposed to just stopping at overlook. When we stopped, Orlando typically gave an overview of the area and snapped a picture of us. Very pleasant tour!
Scott picked us up at Pono Kai in a beautiful Ford Expedition and took us on a phenomenal tour of eastern shore Wailua, and Kapaa, and then north coast to Princeville and Hanalei. We floated the Wailua river up to the fern grotto with the kind and talented Smith Family. We then saw from the ridgeline overlooking the Wailua R and ‘Opaeka’a Falls. All along the tour Scott shared his love and knowledge of the beautiful sights and people of Hawaii. He is so proud of his gorgeous songbird wife Kiana! We felt welcomed and pampered as Scott took us to a fun lunch at Chicken in a Barrel Kapaa. Scott is a good friend to all he meets … highest recommendation for this gracious, caring, knowledgeable Kuau’i ambassador to visitors looking to learn about and deeply appreciate Kuaui and its people.
You have alot of fixablity to decide what to see. Driver was very knowledgeable as to the history of the Island and it's residents. since the roads are narrow, it was nice having the driver plan the routes.
Scott G was the best! He treated us like family and was great with history, local stories and accommodations for a van with 6 grandkids.
This was an excellent overview of the island. Our guide, Orlando, was personable and had a wealth of local knowledge about the island and the sights we saw. Highlights were an excellent Poke Bowl for lunch and seeing whales spout and breech. I heartily recommend this company and our guide.
Scott was amazing. He had incredible details in Hawaiian native history, plants, and animals. He stopped for opportunities for the most incredible pictures with spectacular views. We even learned native language. He made it the best experience. Greatly recommend!!
What a wonderful tour!!! Our guide, Scott, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Kauai’s east and north shores were beautiful and deep in culture and history. Highly recommend this tour!!!
Really nice tour guide but I could have done the same trip with a group tour as all the places I told them I wanted to go were not provided but a great tour guide aside from that
Orlando was very knowledgeable of places and history of the island. We seen things we never would’ve found on our own. MAHOLO Orlando
Our tour was AMAZING!!! My family had Scott as our tour guide, and we absolutely loved him! He was so sweet and went out of his way to make sure we had the best experience possible. We loved learning all of his fun facts about the island and bits and pieces of the Hawaiian language. This was my first time in Kauai, so having this tour of the island really made me appreciate the land. Thank you so much!! 💖
Scott is an amazing tour guide! You can tell he just wants everyone to enjoy the beautiful island and share all he knows. You are in great hands!
We had the most wonderful tour of the North and East Shores of Kauai! Out tour guide, Kraig, was FUN, interesting and so very knowledgeable. Even though it was a rainy day, we didn't care...Kraig gave us a detailed tour with beautiful and mesmerizing scenery. We stopped for lunch at a popular food truck, and learned even more about the history of Kauai as we munched happily on our freshly prepared salads and sandwiches. We highly recommend Kraig as a tour guide, and we highly recommend Private Luxury Tours of Kauai; North and East Shores!
Enjoyed our day with Kevin! Very attentive, knowledgeable. Loves his island and sharing it with guests. Learned the history, saw beautiful sites, had a great lunch.
Our driver, Orlando, besides being knowledgeable about beautiful Kauai in general, knew all the best ( and most gorgeous) places to take us both on and off the “beaten path” of the North and East Shores. A wonderful health food shack called “Nourish” overlooking one of the most spectacular views in Hanalei. A gorgeous double waterfall in a part of the island seldom seen by visitors. A very special experience. Thank you, Orlando!
Scott was a great guide who knows Kauai inside out. He showed us a breathtaking array of sights, left room for improvisation based upon our own tastes and what we wanted to do/see, and was very kind -- a wonderful person to spend the day with. While this experience is on the pricy side, we both agreed that the private aspect of the tour was really worth it (as opposed to being on a bus with a lot of others). That's a significant part of what you're paying for here, so if you decide to do this, take advantage of the fact that you're able to tailor the tour to what you want to see, where you'd like to stop, etc. Highly recommended.
We snuck away for a few days on Kauai and wanted to make sure we saw it all. Scott was a great guide and knew everything about the island. He took us all around and we were able to see some highlights. Highly recommend this tour. First class all the way.
This was a long day in the car. The scenery was amazing but it is a lot of driving to get there. While you have a driver it is not a luxury experience.
Scenic views were beautiful. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the area and history. The lighthouse was worth the visit.
It was a fabulous day and Steve was phenomenal! He took us to all the best and most beautiful spots!
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and took us at our own pace. Rode around in style enjoying the island. Amazing views!!
Cancelled by tour operator due to overbooking. Not cool. Notified a few days in advance, but offerings did. It suit our schedule.
Truly a memorable day. Danio was the best tour guide we have every had. He was full of island facts and stories. He kept us entertained and moving so we could make all our stops. Highly recommend.
Calvin was very knowledgeable about the island and its history. He was very accommodating and showed us some beautiful locations on the island.
Amazing time!!!!!! Our guide Orlando was so kind and friendly!! He took us to a farmers market and bartered for us for fair prices and helped us pick out the best local fruits. We got to see all kinds of cool places on the island we might not have thought to go to or stop at. I’d recommend this to anyone!!! Amazing time with Orlando!
Our guide Kevin was very informative and knowledgeable. He made an extra effort to show us many beautiful views of the island
Jack was a terrific guide & island host. We worked together to create a tour that spoke to our interests, which made the day very special and worth every penny. Thank you Jack & if anyone else is assigned Jack for your tour, consider yourself lucky.. Lynne & Vern
The sights Doma took us to we’re beautiful and the stories about the culture of the island were interesting.
Kevin was an excellent tour guide. He knew all the history and culture tied to the landscape and nature.
We had a tour with Jack who was friendly and personable. He took us to many places that he was very familiar with and were out of the ordinary. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Our guide for the day was John. He arrived on time to pick us up when we arrived in port. Because it was raining on and off he asked if we minded being flexible with our day (route) and we assured him it was fine. He was personable, professional, and, a great driver. We made all the stops we hoped to, and a few unexpected ones, and the rain showers only enhanced our day by giving us some beautiful rainbows to cherish as memories from our perfect day!
We want to say thanks to Domi our tour guide from luxury transportation for an unforgettable experience during our tour with him Friday feb 21, 2020. We loved the stories he told about his “Tutu man”. We learned so much about Kauai and it’s history. He is the best tour guide. He is passionate about his island if Kauai. We will tell others in the mainland of our experience and to definitely take his tour. Domi is an exceptional all around person. Take care Domi from your group from San Francisco, the group you picked up from the Westin Princeville. 😊😘😄
We were rather disappointed in what we were taken to see in our day trip. We described to our driver, Calvin, that we wanted to see waterfalls & secluded beaches. He said to “trust him” and he would take us to many nice places. He insisted upon giving us a history lesson of the island regardless if we wanted it or not. I kept trying to interrupt him with questions, but he didn’t seem to get the hint & would remember exactly where he left off on the history lesson by which we were completely disinterested. We got to see a waterfall, 2 beaches, a lighthouse & we had lunch. We rented a car for the entire week and could have easily discovered these spots on our own. This tour is way overpriced if you have already rented a car & definitely not worth the price. Also, only warm water is provided for the tour, so BYOB if you want to drink anything else like soda, sparkling water, beer, wine etc. Also bring your own cooler with ice if you wish to have cold drinks.
We had a wonderful tour of South and West Kauai. Our tour guide/driver, Jack, was exceptional with his knowledge of Kauai and personable manner. The canyon was a highlight with Jack taking pictures of My husband, son, and myself with the incredible views of the canyon as a backdrop. We also enjoyed the coffee plantation and, of course, spouting horn was incredible. Learned a lot from Jack about the flora and fauna of this beautiful island. Well worth the time and money and pick-up and drop-off were perfect.
Orlando was our guide. He is so knowledgeable about the island. We learned about the mountains, the waterfalls, beaches and wildlife on Kauai, as well as history of the island. Besides, Orlando was very gracious and considerate of our needs. One of our party had difficulty walking. He saw us to the airport and stayed to make sure we were checked in. We felt the Aloha spirit.
We were celebrating our 50th anniversary in the 50th State and Domi Ragsac made our day trip in Kaua’i memorable in every way. The Waimea Canyon was stunning. His serenading us on the pier with Somewhere Over the Rainbow and blessing us with the Hawaiian Wedding Song were simply beyond any expectation. We visited the Spouting Horn Park, enjoyed coffee tasting at a coffee plantation and stopped in the Huleia Valley before returning to the ship. Domi proudly claims his Hawaiian heritage and is a wealth of information about the history and development of the island. He gave us our Hawaiian names of tutu-man and tutu-lady. Our grandchildren loved it! The following morning, Domi’s final act of kindness was to return to the ship an umbrella left in his vehicle. Mahalo, Domi.
I took two tours with Luxury Tours of Kauai—a trip with Orlando up the west side of the island and, two days later, with John up the east side, all the way to Princeville. In both cases, the guides not only knew the island but also were entertaining conversationalists. Both were flexible, allowing me to choose where I wanted to spend more or less time, stop to take photos, etc. I very much enjoyed being free of the restrictions and canned monologues of “organized” tours. This group is very professional while still maintaining a relaxed demeanor. Highly recommended!
We traveled the South and West sides of Kauai with Orlando for the Private Tour: Kauai Sightseeing Adventure, and it truly was a fantastic adventure with a wonderful time at numerous overlooks of Waimea Canyon, taking plenty of time to appreciate the views (and indulge in photography to our heart's content). He listened to our likes, interests, and expectations and put together an itinerary that fit them perfectly, . We left Kauai with a much better appreciation of the island's beauty, as well as a deeper understanding of the "vibe" of this magical place.
Our driver Jack was very accommodating and easy to talk to. Did anything you asked and took us to places we would NOT have found or gone to on our own (this is our second visit to Kauai). We had great conversation and as a long time resident, he has a lot of knowledge to share, which he does freely. Just a good person to know.
This tour was awesome and gave us a complete look at the Hawaiian sites and culture. Domi provides great insight to the Hawaiian community and explores some amazing experiences. Domi takes you on a great tour of Kappa and the North shore. The lunch at Chicken in a Barrel was outstanding. We celebrated our fortieth anniversary and Domi truly made it special. Domi is a great example of a God fearing man that loves the Lord and the "Aloha Spirit". God bless you Domi.
We had a terrific introduction to Kauai by Domi, who is entertaining AND has a gift for teaching the history, language, and important sites of Kauai. The tour started at 8:30 am, included a boat ride to the fern grotto (covered boat, easy walk to grotto, music, hula and history of area to and from grotto). After the boat ride, about an hour, Domi includes a stop at a local eatery of the groups choice. You'll learn a lot, laugh a lot, see a lot and end the tour with a new friend named Domi!! I highly recommend this tour and if you get Domi, you've won the lottery!!
We did a private tour of the east side of the island, and I wish we would have known how AMAZING this would be; we would have also booked a tour with Jack for the west side as well. He arrived early to pick us up, listened to what was important for us to see and what wasn't, sprinkled in his experience and advice and out popped the best day we've had this week! I have been to Kauai many times and.....maybe embarrasingly.....I had never been to any of the places we visited. I will definitely do this again the next time I am here!!
This private tour with guide in an SUV was wonderful. We selected to see the North and East sides of Kauai. This was the perfect choice!!
My wife and I were on Kauai for a short trip and wanted to see as much of the island and possible. We decided to go with the private tour of the north and east side of the island. We had already scheduled a bike tour of the south and west. We found the Best of Kauai Tours. They had super high reviews, so we went with them and we are glad we did. Our tour guide Jeff was outstanding. He has lived on the island for over 20 years and has a big background in movies, TV, and music. My wife and I love movie so we were super interested in movie locations on the island so it was a good match. Jeff was very friendly and was super relaxed. We really enjoyed his company on our tour. We were picked up at the front of our hotel in a nice SUV and began our journey. The tour included a nice picnic lunch at a beach. We were super comfortable the entire time and were encouraged to get out and explore when we made stops. We were able to see many places that were devoid of tourists thanks to Jeff. We even learned about the origins of Puff the Magic Dragon. It was very educational. We felt like we got to see some hidden gems of the island. We highly recommend the Best of Kaui Tours. Mahalo Jeff!
The tour was wonderful and each site beautiful, but not enough time was allowed for true enjoyment of any. More time could have been spent at the sites instead of the "Junk Shop."
We spent the day driving around the beautiful island, stopping for various things each of us wanted to see (shopping, waterfalls, wildlife, etc.). Jack was a terrific driver and very entertaining. Definitely recommend this company.
Domi took us around to many places that were on our list to visit and explore, There is nothing better than having someone so knowledgeable about the area and the customs. We took a wonderful boat ride to the fern grotto. Although the weather was not the best, Domi made it a pleasurable and fun experience. Mahalo
