Po'ipu Surf Lesson

This was an A++ Surfing Lesson with Kele as a gifted, motivational instructor. Very hands on and gave great advice. Highly recommend!!

Kele was great with our teens. Group size was small which allowed for adequate individual attention on a great beach to learn.

Our surf instructor Kele was great! He was very knowledgeable and took great care of my family including our 10 year old who was a little nervous about going.

Perfect add on experience for my trip! We stayed at Ko’a Kea so it was a no brainer. Super convenient!

This was a wonderful experience to kick off our vacation and learn surfing basics. We started out practicing on dry land for form, and then took it to the water. Coach expertly guided us step by step on form and gave us practical tips for improvement after each attempt in the water. Coach taught us about watching the waves and when to stand timing. We felt like the lesson length was long enough to learn and get experience without being too long that we felt over done. Our kids (16) learned enough that they feel comfortable enough to continue trying to surf on their own. As a mom, I feel like it’s worth mentioning that we felt safe the entire time in the water. 10/10 recommend.

We had a wonderful experience with our two friendly and helpful guides. We had six in our group age 9 to 64 and we were all able to ride several waves thanks to the help of the coaches.

Coach Kele was awesome. Patient, funny, and he did a great job making sure to take care of us first timers especially since I was nervous!

We had a great lesson with David, who was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The sea current was extremely challenging for us beginners, and we left exhausted, but definitely happy.

The instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful. One of our favorite things about out trip to Kauai!

USE SUNSCREEN, also it's better to not take a break and just keep going otherwise it's hard to get back into the water

Kids did surfing lessons in Poipu - being from the Midwest, it was definitely something new! They had a great time, would do it again!

Our instructor was incredible, great vibes and he was meant to tech. So much patience and encouragement! As a complete beginner with my young son tagging along in less than ideal conditions, we felt safe and well taken care of! I would absolutely do it again! It is quite the workout so be prepared to be sore the next day 😅

Our surf sensei, David, was absolutely great. Very knowledgeable, very effective instruction, very positive and encouraging. I was a terrible student…surfing for an overweight fifty-seven dad isn’t as easy as it sounds. David maintained his enthusiasm with this ole traveler. My older kids loved it and enjoyed reasonable success and best of all…I got to hang out with a monk seal. Great morning.

David was a great instructor. He had patience for all four of us beginners and was especially encouraging to our youngest.

The guide was only helping people who could surf. I felt I wasn’t helped. To me it’s bad investment of money and time.

It was great! It was easy to get to and the waves were just right. I loved the sandy beach and it wasn’t too crowded.

I have had four other surf lessons before and this was definitely one of the best. Rick was the right combination of patient and knowledgeable. It was very laid back, and the waves he took us to were gentle and easy to stand up on. I highly recommend for first-timers and beginners.

Great fun with a good, patient instructor.

David was wonderful. He gave very thorough instructions and I felt very safe throughout the lesson. I was on my own, but he really helped tailor the lesson more to my skill level. While also providing an awesome experience for the kids in the group. The equipment was quality and I appreciated the water shoes. It was my second lesson, and I felt more confident than before and was able to get up and surf a few times. Everyone at the front desk and equipment rental area was friendly and helpful. I can't remember her name, but the woman who worked there was great too. Thanks for the awesome experience!

David was AMAZING, he was super helpful and patient with me, I have never stepped foot on a surf board before and was extremely nervous, but he was super nice and taught me the skills I need to apply to start surfing, I would recommend this team to anyone who has wanted to surf but been too scared to start trying.

We had the best experience with this surf school! We went as a family with our two girls (11 and 14), and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Everyone in our group was able to get up on the board quickly, which made it so fun and encouraging—especially for first-timers. Our instructor was absolutely incredible—patient, positive, and great at explaining things in a way that clicked right away. You can tell they genuinely care about making sure everyone has a great time and feels successful. The energy was fun, supportive, and super professional from start to finish. If you’re even thinking about trying surfing, do it here—you won’t regret it. Such an unforgettable experience for our whole family! 🌊🤙

David did a great job with instruction. I enjoyed that it was a small class. (Just two of us.) The desk staff was very welcoming and though I felt a bit awkward waiting in the hotel pool/bar area - there was no problem. Staff asked if I was waiting or if I’d like a menu and that was that. Parking is valet only on property.

David was awesome. He was so patient and helpful in teaching us how to surf. It was my first time (41yo), my husband’s first time (51yo) and my son’s (10yo) first time and we had so much fun. Highly recommend giving it a try.
