This is a must do list for my trip to Kauai. I picked this boat for its bigger size and hoped the ride would not be too bumpy as it was said the sea was rough in afternoon due to the wind. It ended up not bad at all. The crew was very friendly and professional. Drinks and food were very good. The boat stopped at the magnificent Na Pali coast giving enough time for everyone to enjoy it. Nice dinner was served later. The boat returned to the harbour after beautiful sunset. Definitely a great experience!

The crew was amazing, the trip felt luxurious and adventurous. Jake, Jessie, George, and Captain Dane, were extremely friendly, and made a great team. The boat was very clean and spacious, we felt safe the entire way.
The Napali sunset experience on Lady Kailani was epic. Great way to see the Napali coast from the sea - recommend doing this along with a helicopter tour to get both vistas. Captain Dane and the crew were excellent - friendly and great hosts. Service was exceptional - constantly being asked if everything’s alright / if we need more drinks etc. Highly recommend - since this is the largest boat that does this tour it wasn’t too choppy either despite the weather being pretty windy.
Dane and the crew were awesome. The service was second to none - always being checked everything is ok and if we need anymore drinks etc. Views were incredible as expected and great sunset to finish the afternoon. Note this is the most unprotected stretch of coastline so it does naturally get rough - was a little choppy going up and then smooth coming back with the wind.
Spacious boat and great amenities. Crew was amazing and attentive. Food was ok. Drinks were good. Definitely recommend
So beautiful! Our captain, Dave, was fantastic. Lots of fun facts and took every opportunity to ensure we felt safe. The staff on the boat were also amazing. 10/10.
Captain Kauai was amazing! Gave us such a wonderful time. Service was perfect! Food was great…chicken seekers a little under cooked. But all in all such a great experience!!
Nice boat. Tasty food and drinks. Excellent crew. They were friendly and attentive. Remember cash for tips.
Great service by crew. Ship accommodating as well. Dinner and drinks are very good. Trip time to Napali and back consumes most of your time 3hrs out of 4.5.
Kauai sea tours was a seamless experience. They needed to reschedule and they were very understanding about it. Captain Kauai and his staff were amazing. We had the best time and felt we were treated with such care and kindness.
Check off my bucket list! Such a wonderful sunset cruise! Really an adventure cruise! I felt like Moana riding the waves on the beautiful catamaran Lady Kailani! Captain Kauai was an incredible captain maneuvering the boat, so close to the cliffs to be able to touch the waterfalls. Being a native of Hawaii, he had so many interesting stories to share. My husband and I were celebrating our 43rd anniversary and this will be a trip we remember forever. We had a little appetizer at the beginning of the cruise, which was delicious little raw vegetables including edamame with a dip. Dinner included chicken sauté sticks, mahi-mahi, mashed potatoes prepared the Hawaiian way, stirfry vegetables, and a nice salad. Dessert included delicious cookies, and Hawaiian butter mochi! Chefs kiss! The crew was so attentive and I could tell were happy to be with us and kept my Maitai filled! Would highly recommend this sunset cruise!
Be strategic about your seat choice. You do not wear shoes. You may get wet. You don’t eat or are offered alcoholic beverages until later in the trip. It’s awesome! You learn a lot about the history of the Islands while taking spectacular views!
We thought this catamaran was the best choice for us. The size was just right and the crew was terrific. This size catamaran was big enough so the waves were not an issue. Recommend booking this boat if you tend to get sea sick. Smaller boats would definitely feel the swaying more than this boat. The crew were informative, attentive and friendly. They took care of you and helped you whenever you needed it. All the food was good and the crew serving us appetizers, drinks and dessert was awesome. Definitely would book again when the rest of the family joins on another trip to Kauai.
First time in Kauai and The Lady Kailani was amazing. If you visit Kauai it’s definitely worth booking
Captain Kauai is a wonderful storyteller and captain. The boat is very comfortable and the food was great. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable & relaxing boat ride to see the Napali coast.
Great boat tour of the Napali coast. So beautiful. Captain Kauai, George and Jacob took such good care of our group! Fun music, nice amount of commentary, and good eats. Took dramamine beforehand and only felt a little nauseated during the last hour of the 4 hour tour. The views were amazing and I highly recommend this crew and this tour.
Wonderful experience, capitán Kauai is the best.
The crew were helpful, nice, and friendly. The captain Kaui was great giving a cultural information, along with nature information. Well worth the trip
Crew and Captain Alicia were great! The ride was very comfortable and scenery was gorgeous. Wonderful experience on the Lady Kailani!
What an amazing experience! The crew is knowledgeable and fun. They served delicious food and plenty of beverages. The views were incredible. 10 stars.
Keep up that joy—you guys were amazing! I came from Oahu to visit and take this tour. It was really good; I highly recommend it.
Our captain was amazing!!!! Crew very attentive and fun!!! This trip to the Napali coast was a trip of a lifetime!!!! Highly recommend! Worth every cent!!! Once again Captain Kauai was awesome!
Cruise was excellent, do not book through viator!!! We were unable to cancel one person when they got sick and were not able to get the available Kama Aina discount because we booked through viator. Book through the Kauia sea tours website instead.
This experience was awesome! The crew was fantastic and very supportive - we went as a family and took our 3 and 5 year old children. The captain was very clear before we got on the boat that the people get sea sick - I took medication (not knowing if I would get sick or not since I would have to be on high alert with 2 kiddos and my husband) and I felt completely fine! There were moments my stomach dropped like I was on a rollercoaster until I got used to the boat. Our family and many others were totally fine, there were a few who got ill. Take it seriously and don’t hesitate to medicate. The crew was attentive, helpful, took photos and made sure we had drinks in our hands, felt comfortable and happy. The captain was very informative about the landscape, history, and would tell us what to expect as far as conditions as we would change our course. Food was good and we felt satisfied. Even my kids were happy. My 3 year old decided he wanted to stand at the front of the boat on the way home, I was terrified (and had to stand there with him) but the crew made sure we were safe and were encouraging. I felt confident that they would let us know if things started getting dangerous. We would 100% do this again. Nate: this is an active tour and full body experience! Any boat ride along the Napoli coast will be this way due to the nature of the ocean. I felt like their description, warnings, and highlights on the website, in the waivers and in their communications were sport on. Thank you for an incredible experience! We look forward to coming back soon!
DO NOT BOOK WITH TRIPADVISOR. Google the company and book directly. Because we booked with trip advisor we were unable to cancel when one person got sick and unable to get the available Kama aina discount. Tour is excellent, tripadvisor/viator is NOT!
The captain and crew were incredible and really added something special to the experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Where to begin! So many great things. First, HUGE kudos to Captain Kauai and the crew. Everyone was super attentive, gracious, and in tune with the guests. The crew went over and beyond in taking group photos during the best parts of the tour. Our daughter had an amazing time conversing with and learning some history from Capt. Kauai. OUTSTANDING. Second, IF you think you may get seasick, no shame in asking for a white pail. 😳 It can be your “plus one.” Third, the food was great and the sunset beyond words. We highly recommend this tour but note, it can be a bumping ride out but much smoother coming back. Capt. Kauai and the crew did great in letting guests know ahead of time about rough patches so you can prepare. You will get your money’s worth. Thank you, Capt Kauai and crew!! 🫶 Finally, if you happen to be one of “those” families with a lot of unaddressed drama, please don’t let it play out in public. It is embarrassing or, at least it should be, but some good entertainment for the rest of the guests. 🫣
Awesome experience, Captain Gregg and his crew were fantastic! Great views and great food, especially the potatoes!
This was the best tour we’ve done on the island. Totally worth the money. The crew was amazing and the food was delicious. It was a bit choppy but the views were fantastic. The captain ended the day with turning the boat to face the sunset. Couldn’t ask for a better day with my wife.
Great experience the Captain Kauai was great, Friendly staff, good food and an amazing trip. I had three teens on the boat, they loved the music and atmosphere as well as the Captain.
UH-MAZING! I have done my fair share of boat tours but Lady Kailani is truly other level! Captain Kauai and his professional but also super fun crew made a 4.5 hour boat ride along the majestic cliffs and beaches and waterfalls of the Na'Pali Coast an informative and entertaining experience. I'm 55 and I had a blast...and my 11 year old had a blast...so this thing is a blast! It may look a little pricey and seem like it might take too long but for us it was perfect!!
Great crew. Awesome boat. Very skilled and knowledgeable captain. Good food and breathtaking views. Highly recommend, but if you get seasick bring dramamine.
When they say go departs no matter what- they really do even when there is no reason anyone should be out on the water in those conditions. Almost half the boat was feeling sick and throwing up- the food ran out even though half of my family didn’t want to eat because they were feeling so bad. The crew were amazing - the only redeeming quality to this adventure
This tour is an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it, I have done it twice in the week I have been here, my first tour was perfect and the weather was amazing my second tour we encountered some very rough seas and rain and several people on the boat got sick, I highly recommend taking anti nausea medication before you step foot on the boat even if the weather looks good because out here that can change very quickly, I also recommend having rain gear (rain suit, poncho, waterproof bag and shoes). The staff were very friendly and helpful with anything you might need. If the weather is good you could possibly have the opportunity to get in the water and snorkel for about 40 minutes so bring something to wear as well as sun protection, they do have a few snorkel sets for use by passengers if you want. The food was good we had a small appetizer of hummus and vegetables with edamame. Drinks were plentiful and dinner was salad, kimchi mashed potatoes, seasoned vegetables, teriyaki chicken skewers, white rice and butter caper Mahi Mahi and for desert we had homemade warm right out of the over cookies. For the price I feel this is a great tour and you definitely get your moneys worth.
Excellent captain. Great trip great staff Great rime. Fantastic I views and very conscious about the rough weather. Kept us informed
Traveled with my wife and son. Had an amazing time and soaked up all the views. The captain and crew were non-stop serving the guests and making sure everyone was having a great time. I 100% recommend this trip with this company.
The captain and the crew were very amazing, they took really good care of us! The cataraman looked almost brand new and had lots of outdoor seating so we could enjoy the views. We had a really good time, highly recommend it! One thing that would have made the experience better was if there were good vegetarian food options.
First and foremost this is a catamaran and it’s going to be on the ocean. Our captain was very thorough in describing what to expect on the entire cruise and she was absolutely correct about everything. Myself and my family all knew what to expect prior to our trip but some of the other guests weren’t … and unfortunately ended up being uncomfortable and got sea sickness. Otherwise we all had a great time ! The views were amazing, the catamaran was rocking and rolling to the motion of the sea and the captain and crew were all very attentive. Our captain was also a tour guide explaining everything we were about to see. The rest of the crew were busy making sure that each and every person on board was well taken care. They also passed out snacks and beverages and sweets. Alcoholic beverages were also available. Dinner was provided buffet style. Due to the size of the catamaran and the small galley the options were limited but were tasty. I was able to take so many photographs some of which I’m still going through. I asked my family members if they would go on it again and they all said yes ! I agree wholeheartedly. I would remind everyone that this is not a large cruise ship but is a double decker catamaran with a crew of 4 including the captain. If you’re expecting a smooth ride…you will not find it here. If you’re looking for an adventure on the ocean while having the wind in your face and the ocean dictating how the ship moves…this is the one for you. There’s nothing quite like being on the ocean looking at the amazing views of the coastline. Yes…sign up and go have a fun time and hang on !
If you don't know that you will be seasick just take precautions and buy the anti-nausea medication and take beforehand. 🤮This is a very nice trip and the food is quite good🍹😋 so you don't want to ruin it for yourself. The boat is very nice and new, has all the amenities in the right places.I liked the crew, very nice and will go out of their way for you.
Highly recommend - we sailed on the Lady Kailani on the Sunset Na Pali Coast tour. The crew was amazing!!! The boat looked almost brand new and was very comfortable. The food was good! The views were fantastic. Our captain as very experienced and it was an enjoyable 4 hours. If you are prone to motion sickness take medication prior, we did and had no problems at all. Our one family member that says he never gets sea sick wound up getting sick on the trip back. But for the rest of us an amazing experience. Hang out in the front of the boat it was very enjoyable but very windy.
The Lady Kailani is a beautiful boat. Large enough to not feel too much motion, incredibly clean, lots of great places to sit and enjoy the journey. The captain and crew were exceptional. So friendly and attentive. They were well versed in safety. The food was much better than one would expect on an evening cruise. This was the highlight of our Kauai vacation. Mahalo!
Great experience with incredible views! The captain got us up close to the caves and the crew was very attentive. We got lucky and the waves were relatively calm. My wife who usually gets sea sick was good with a couple dramamine pills. Highly recommend the sunset trip!
Boat was modern and well maintained. Captain Alicia was great. Pointed out historical and geological info and kept the guests informed of the rules and what was going to happen on the boat. Weather was great, a perfect day. Seas were a bit rough in areas but expected for the area we were at. If you're susceptible to getting sea sick do take precautions! Crew was friendly and professional (Emmy and two others - sorry forgot their names). They really seemed to enjoy their job - and who could blame them. Food was good and there was plenty of booze after the snorkeling.
Everything was FANTASTIC, the Capt’n , the crew, the boat, the food was Great! An ABSOLUTE MUST DO! Yeees DO IT if you want GREAT MEMORIES!
Wow - this experience was just great! Capt. Kauai and his 3 person crew were amazing! Water was a little choppy going out and several (5 out of 23) passengers got sick. The crew members took such good care of them while still managing to take good care of the rest of us. Each member would offer to take photos of passengers, fetch drinks, make plates, etc. Capt. Kauai shared a lot of the history of Kauai while navigating. Crew members showed us photos and videos of Capt. Kauai and it was clear they admired and respected him. At one point, Cat. Kauai brought the Lady Kailani right up against the rocky shoreline for the guests to take photos. It was incredible! Good to know - shoes are removed prior to boarding. You can take backpacks or tote bags on board. Appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages were served early in the 5 hour trip. Alcohol and dinner were served on the way back from Na Pali so no one seemed unsafe. The boat has an upper and lower deck. Upper deck is mostly covered but the rain can reach the edges of the entire upper deck. Lower deck in the back was where they recommended people who get seasick sit as it has the least amount of turbulence. The sunset was viewed and celebrated pretty close to harbor return so we were effectively not completely dark upon arrival. The boat is nearly brand new (9 months old) and very nice. There are 2 restrooms onboard. It is rated for 100 passengers but they don’t schedule more than 50 and there were 23 on our sailing.
Absolutely best tour I have ever done! Lady Kailani was beautiful and the captain and crew made the trip so memorable. Captain Alicia was incredible she was so impressive and knowledgeable. Thank you Kaua’i sea tours
We had such a wonderful time touring the Na pali coast aboard the Lady Kailani! It is truly surreal to see the cliffs up close while listening to culture insights from the crew! We saw a couple of whales even tho most of them have migrated in April, goats playing along the cliffs was amazing!! And even the forming of a rainbow! It was so magical and beautiful!! The crew is so attentive and always checking on you make sure you are feeling comfortable and offering you drinks and food! I personally get sea sick so I took to Dramamines an hour before and didn’t feel a thing! I was able to enjoy the trip all along, so I def recommend to take sea sick med to avoid feeling sick specially if you do the tour during winter time since taught sea are expected at times, but the capital and crew are so knowledgeable of the area and let you know exactly what to expect in each part of the tour:) we did our tour yesterday April 24 and obit the mid part of the trout as you get into the cliff felt rough as the crew advice and the way back was a bliss!! We took so many picture and just chill enjoying the spectacular views, the crew even takes pictures for you!! The sunset was dreamy!! I recommend this 10/10!!
The crew were the best! Friendly, helpful and caring. The captain did a great job narrating the tour. The boat is very comfortable, did not feel crowded, plenty of space to move around, and safe. The food was delicious - scratch cooking! We highly recommend this adventure!
Fabulous experience! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking!! Napali coast is beyond beautiful!! Food was nothing to right home about but it never is on these types of excursions. It was acceptable though! Drinks were great!! Two of three crew members were very attentive! This is about a four hour trip until sunset! Boat was clean and stable. Always will be some rocking but this boat handled the sea very well! We saw dolphins and 4 humpback whales!! Very unusual for April! Would recommend this trip to anyone.
What an amazing experience!!! We don't typically do touristy excursions (we're generally content to hang out on the beach all day while on vacation in Kauai). I'm super happy we did the sunset tour on the Lady Kailani. The captain and crew did an excellent job at making sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. Captain Kauai was very knowledgeable and shared the legends and stories of the indigenous Hawaiin people about the Na'Pali coast. He gave us the best views of the coast and even stopped a few times as we were delighted with rare late-season looks at humpback whales (a mom, a baby and their escort). I also spotted a dolphin as we cruised past Kekaha. The crew, Chad, Micah and Lot were lovely as well. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kauai. The Na'Pali coast is breathtaking and is best viewed from the water.
