Everything was very organized and professional. Everyone was helpful, polite and smiling. Food was excellent and the show was outstanding. Best luau on Kauai.

Itinerary
Experience an authentic Hawaiian luau amidst the splendor of Kauai - the garden island. Luau Kalamaku combines traditional luau elements - a Hawaiian feast, hula dancing and an imu (underground oven) with an award winning, theatrical performance. Gather under a massive open air pavilion to enjoy live music and a buffet dinner of local Hawaiian favorites. Grab a Mai Tai from the open bar before the lights dim, signaling the start of the theatrical and fiery show which chronicles the story of ancient Hawaiian's epic sea voyage from Tahiti to Kauai. Optional add-ons are available including convenient roundtrip transportation from many Kauai hotels, a train ride around the heart of Kilohana Plantation or a seating upgrade to bring you even closer to the main stage.

To eat before they get there The food was cold And have patience The place was beautiful. The people were cordial polite. Please look at your water containers. They do not look clean. But I had a good time My friendsdidn’t wanna stay for the luau they said the intermission was too long
I really wanted to love this luau but it fell short. First we had no information about location. Finally had to call an hour ahead to get address because nothing was sent, the tickets did not even give an address. The drinks tasted like syrup with cheap alcohol. The food was covered in salt, I could not eat anything for dinner it was so bad and the desserts had no flavor. Food gets a 0 unfortunately. The show was fun and really why we went. Unfortunately the sound system was poor so whenever some spoke it was muffled. I’m glad we went but for the price I expected higher quality.
Very cool and entertaining experience! There were local vendors to shop with, a bar with drinks for the adults and kids, and large tables to accommodate our big group! The show was incredibly well done, our whole family really enjoyed it! The food was wonderful and had a great variety of meats, sides, and desserts.
My husband booked a luau in the wrong island. I asked for a credit refund and it was given to us even though it wasnt with in the time line to cancel. Thank you fir the refund
Beautiful luau! Really enjoyed the local vendors, authentic food buffet, pineapple dessert was bomb. The show was spectacular. Loved every bit of it start to finish.
We booked this with our cruise excursion desk. 600 people so big luau. It was more like a dinner theater with a buffet than a luau, but maybe that's the way they do it now. The good- food and show were fantastic! Artisans were awesome and had unique items for sale. Not so good - were told that we would have our pictures taken but the photographer disappeared. There was limited food choices at the buffet and one bar with limited choices. One bathroom for 600 people. We were also advised to sit back and enjoy the music while waiting for the bus - but clearly the staff didn't get the memo. We were hearded out like cattle. Overall it was a good experience and glad we attended.
Food was great. Show was great . Just need to put down detail itinerary when do dinner start , show start and show end .
The luau was great! The food was very good and the show/story was very good! I definitely recommend this luau!
Beautiful venue, grounds with huge elaborate tented structure for show and dinner Well organized, smoothly run operation that handles 400-500 guests
The best Luau experience I’ve had. It was more than just traditional dancing, they told a story. The food was delicious with a variety for everyone.
Excellent venue Performers were great The servers wereon top of everything There was no place to tip the servers or the performers though which we thought they should have taken up some for them to share since we were able to tip bartenders and the folks that did the trainride
Smooth and quick great flight friendly people. Check in was easy so was bad check in.enjoyed it very much
It’s a much bigger crowd than anticipated. Didn’t quite feel authentic. I paid for the gold level and wasn’t quite sure what I got extra for it. We did sit at a table that was elevated to have a better view of the stage. Also we were in the first group to be called to the buffet. The open Bar was directly behind our table so it was a bit crowded. Also the bathrooms were very close to our table. I guess the upgrade (371.00$ for two) was of the location and access to the buffet first. Don’t think I’d pay the extra next time. I would definitely come back. The show was awesome 🥳 Some times it was hard to hear what they were saying though. Overall this was the best presentation of a Lua I’ve seen ! (I’ve been to 4 throughout the islands) Food was good, but they take it away pretty fast. Enjoy !!
Great show!! Fun atmosphere. I love the story and that it's all natives of Kauai made it all that now memorable. The fires sticks were awesome. The hula dancers were breath taking. So much energy. The food was good. But overall it was the dancers that captured my heart. Thank you for a great show.
This is a Wonderful Presentation! Our grandchildren loved it. Train ride was fun as well. ***5 Stars
The experience was great but the limited choices on beer was negative in that for that kind of money brand names should have been available. The waitresses also should not have been so eager to gather the bread treys. Buffet was outstanding but deserts lacked variety and portions too. The speaker could have been more attentive to explaining how tables are designated to take their turns with lead floor ushers to the order designated. Exiting the parks no lot was stress free so all in all a 80% score is my value for quality, Performance wise 100%!
The show was A++++. Very talented group and entertaining! Respect for the culture increased greatly! The food wasn’t good. The show made it worth it.
Overall, we enjoyed our evening at Luau Kalamaku. It was a fun environment, with a very big, very open covered dining area with the stage set in the middle. There was live music going on before and during dinner which was loud enough that it made it a little hard to get to know the others at our table (tables have seating for 10), which made things a little socially awkward. We were informed the event started at 5:30, but they didn't serve the food until sometime after 6:00. It would have been nice to have been informed how much time we had to look around at the local vendors' booths before dinner. The process of serving the food was very smooth, and proceeded very quickly. High marks there. Plus, it was all you can eat. Most of the food was very good, but not great. And the chicken was very tough. The entertainment after dinner was very good. Mostly excellent hula dancing and some very talented fire dancers, with little talking or narration, which made the storyline of the presentation a bit confusing. It made more sense after we read the printed program. The program lasted about 50 minutes which seemed a little short. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves, but we probably wouldn't go again. It felt rather overpriced, in large part, I think, because of the open bar which we did not utilize. It might be more worthwhile if they had a lower cost option for non-drinkers.
Outstanding, as usual. A strong story about the arrival of the Hawaiians into the islands.
Great show and a great atmosphere! Food was pretty middle of the road. Open bar had great tenders.
Beautiful setting. Staff were all welcoming, hardworking, and service was fantastic. The show itself was the best. I loved that it told the story about the people of Hawaii. Wonderful experience overall!
Extremely disappointed in this luau. We paid for premium seating and were the last table selected for dinner. By the time we got up to buffet, many selections were already gone and they weren’t refilling anymore. We barely filled up one plate and definitely didn’t get a chance for any . The show was OK, but it was a very hot pavilion as airflow was not circulating across the large space. We were also told to arrive right at 5 PM as there was a lot of vendors that would be set up selling local items. That was not the case – maybe seven vendors to choose from. Given how much we paid I would have expected more.
Great fun, very entertaining. Good food, drinks, and atmosphere
Before the luau you can check out local crafts for sale, pose for photos, enjoy the generous open bar, the live Hawaiian music, and a big variety of typical hulas being danced. The covered open-air venue is very large with many people and they work hard to have everyone get the best view from their seat. Everything is managed easily including the buffet lines which are short and move quickly. There is a big variety of food, pretty tasty. You are sure to find foods that deserve a second serving. The show is a history story with a wide variety of hulas, costumes, and drama. The sound is good , the lighting and sets are beautiful. The dancers work very hard to make a great show. They deserve strong applause at the end from all who decided not run out to their cars. How rude.
Wonderful experience. Did the train ride prior to the luau it was really worth the time we learned about the history of the plantation and different things about the island. The train stops so you can feed wild boar and horses, and a donkey which was a highlight for the kids. Highly recommend this luau and the entire experience. The show was beautiful. The food was delicious. They’re extremely organized. They have vendors on property prior to the luau that you can visit that are artisans that have beautiful handmade goods.
I have been to many luaus. This was by far the best one. The performers, story, and food were wonderful. It was highly organized and entertaining. The setting on the plantation was gorgeous. The train ride was fun with the kids. It was perfect in every way.
Lovely evening. We rode the train, fed animals, saw orchard and crop plants, shopped at local artisan stalls, had a wonderful dinner at the manor, heard a Don Ho-type singer with a hula dancer, and the saw the show which conveyed a story.
Always the absolute best Luau!! They really go above and beyond for the guests and their show is amazing!!!
I went to a Luau on the main island at 16, and it was awesome but this was completely different. I was NOT expecting that. It’s a whole production, the talent of the people who are in this show is astonishing!! The way the blend the history, with authentic heritage and theater is really amazing. At first we were really just looking for something more mellow and we wanted to get as authentic experience as possible, but this place gives you what you may for. Excellent food, free drinks, and and AMAZING show.
The train beforehand was great for the grandchildren. The food was very good and the tropical drinks were nice. But the show was one of the best luau shows I have seen,it had a theme and story, easy to follow. Seats are all around the stage so able too see it up relatively close.
We had a fantastic time at Luau Kalamuku in Kauai. The show itself was easily 5 stars—large cast, great storytelling, excellent dancing, and the fire twirler was truly outstanding. Everything felt well-organized and professional from start to finish. The food was good too and complemented the overall experience nicely. What truly set this luau apart, though, was their customer service. My elderly relative became sick the day before and had to go to urgent care, so he (and his spouse who was helping him recover) were unable to attend. Even though we didn’t cancel with the required notice, the staff at Luau Kalamuku still issued a full refund for both of them. That level of compassion and flexibility is rare and deeply appreciated. Thank you for making a difficult situation easier and for delivering such a memorable evening. We would gladly recommend Luau Kalamaku to anyone visiting Kauai!
Both the train ride and luau were fantastic. The whole family really enjoyed it. The show was entertaining
Very well managed food was ok for such a large number and the show was great. Parking went well and we had no problems leaving.
It was well organized. Food was great. Enjoyed everything about it. The dancers were fantastic. Definitely coming back
The Luau was amazing because they have a storyline along with the dancing. It was organized and the stage was in the center so it was a good view especially if purchased the gold and silver.
Well organized, beautiful grounds, great professional picture opportunity and a entertaining show. We really enjoyed ourselves...night well spent!
It was AMAZING!! So happy they take pictures before the Luau, it’s a perfect souvenir! The little shops that are available before seating were great! The line to eat moves quickly, food was amazing, and the dinner music was wonderful. But…the show was hands down the BEST!! Totally easy to follow the story line, beautiful outfits, so energetic, it was the highlight of our trip so far! Definitely recommend!!
Wonderful entertainment, my 12 and 9 year old kids were engaged throughout. Food was decent as far as these events go.
One of the best we've seen. Great show, food was delicious especially the hula pig. Open bar until show. It was warm in there, could of used more circulation. Easy check in and beautiful grounds. Vendors to roam prior to show.
The food was very good and the show was excellent. The reservation representative was very helpful to get 4 of us in together and they were friendly and helpful. We really appreciate that. Thank you again.
It was one of the most well planned and presented Luau we have attended. We have experienced this one about 4 different times over the past 20 years. Great food, and the show is most excellent. We have attended many Luau across the islands, but this is our favorite!
This was a delightful experience. From purchasing via a tour and experiencing the show, everything went smoothly. Lie to her just the write the amount of reminders for the event with booking and map clearly able to find. The event itself was wonderful. I would describe it as a well loyal machine with the number of people they had to get checked in, seated their table, and then fed. Before the show starts, they have local vendors around the premise selling their items which was a nice street. All tables have about 10 people per table. Wichita was plenty of room to feel comfortable in your seat. The stage is in the center of the end it is round as well as there are many stages in two or four corners of the banquet area. There was a small Prees show and salad and bread was delivered to the tables while you enjoyed the preshow. Table picked in an order to get through the buffet lines, and it all went really fast. They had an open bar located in a couple locations at the banquet venue. It was warm under the open air tent, so definitely bring a small hand fan get some air flowing. The actual buffet had plenty of choices to please everybody’s taste buds. Several types of salads and fruit platters to begin with then a few sides, several proteins, and desserts. All the food was tasty and again a person should be able to find something they enjoy. Once everybody got through the line one time you could definitely go back again if you wanted more. The show was exceptionally well done. Everyone involved with the production was committed to their role and showed passion and joy for what they were doing. It was a touching story and all the actors and dancers did a lovely job.
I would give this 3.5 stars. We did the Hawaiian seating plus train and transportation to the show. The transportation made the trip easy and allows us to enjoy the open bar a little more. We arrived around 5 checked in and had enough time to grab a drink to take on the train ride. We actually really enjoyed this and my daughter loved feeding the animals. When we got back there wasn’t a ton of time to explore the craft fair as the were beginning to serve food and most of the people starting packing up. We did get a henna tattoo for our daughter which she loved. We were one of the last people to get one and there was a line behind us so do this early if you want to. After we went back to our seats. Unfortunately everyone had already been seated and most of the salad and bread for the table was gone which was a little disappointing. Food was okay. They were out of some stuff when I got up to the Buffett line and they weren’t replacing it fast enough which was frustrating. The chicken and the Kalua pork was actually pretty decent for buffet banquet food. At 7:30 the show started. The show was pretty good but we could barely see it from our table. Felt like we had some of the worst seats in the house so definitely look at doing the silver or gold seating. We ended up letting our daughter sit on the back of her chair and I stood by the band to watch.
A fantastic show, highly recommend. The food is typically not that great at luau’s, but the food here was actually pretty good. Was well worth it.
Fantastic experience!! The drinks, food, etc were great. The performance after dinner was incredible!
Great show for the.whole family! Impressive dancers and fire throwing. Delicious food, drinks, and friendly staff.
It was easy to get to the staff was very nice and knowledgeable in guiding us through our experience
this luau is a bigger production then luau you normally go to . had nice buffer , bar and craft vendors .
Amazing celebration of life. Great staff and food! I went to celebrate my 30th birthday and I was surprise when they started saying people’s name who were celebrating birthdays. Such a great experience!
