I had a really good time scuba diving this evening with Seasport Divers. My instructor, Amaley, did an amazing job teaching me the basics and guiding me through the process. I was able to gain confidence after my first dive. I highly recommend for beginners who want to learn and professionals who want a good tour. The pricing was reasonable.

Itinerary
Once you’ve checked in at the dive shop, all your gear will be prepped and you’ll be transported to Koloa Landing—the island’s premium shore dive training area. Before you head underwater, you’ll receive a comprehensive safety and skill briefing covering the basics of SCUBA theory, equipment, communication, and in-water techniques. Practice your new skills in a calm, shallow environment until you feel fully confident. Now it’s time to dive! You’ll explore breathtaking coral reefs to a maximum depth of 40 feet, with each guided dive lasting approximately 30–45 minutes. Opting for the two-tank adventure lets you discover a second, distinct reef ecosystem with varied marine life and scenery, conditions permitting. Throughout the day, your knowledgeable instructor will be by your side, making sure you’re comfortable, safe, and having an amazing time. After your dive, relax as you’re transported back to the shop and celebrate your successful underwater adventure. The basics you learn here will help set you up for the Open Water Diver course should you wish to continue your diving journey.

Devon was great! It was my second time diving, but I still wasn’t completely comfortable with the idea of being underwater and breathing out of my mouth. She made sure I felt comfortable and safe throughout the whole journey. She was very professional and helped us spot some cool wildlife. We saw 5 sea turtles, a bunch of cool fish, and even an octopus. The area is still recovering from the hurricane, but Devon did a good job of helping us spot some cool things.
Had 2 first time divers, 1 with a single resort dive, and 1 with only 4 previous dives. Cody Kowal was our instructor and he did a phenomenal job making everyone feel comfortable and safe. We did the 2 dive experience and while only 2 of the 4 took the second dive that was incredible and well worth it. Cody took us out along the reef where we experienced beautiful schools of fish, turtles, an eel, and brightly colored varieties of fish everywhere you looked - like taking a swim in your favorite salt water fish tank! Definitely worth taking the plunge if you can carve out the time - and if you get Cody that’s a bonus because he is outstanding and made the experience special!!!
So much fun!! Great guide! The dive was perfect for a new diver or somebody who hasn’t dove in a while.
Cody was a great guide. He was patient and very helpful. We got to see turtles, eels, lots of cool fish, and coral. Overall, this was a wonderful experience - felt comfortable and safe and wouldn't hesitate to come back!
It was a great first time scuba dive! Jakob with a K was patient and taught us well. I felt safe and would do this again in a heartbeat.
Kody was a great dive instructor. Approached teaching my son and I from a physics (buoyancy and pressure) standpoint which we both appreciated. Now my son is excited to try scuba diving again. This was his favorite part of our Hawaii trip. Did a 2 tank dive and saw lots of giant turtles, puffer fish, lots of sea urchins, various tropical fish and Kody mentioned seeing a monk seal by an old anchor, but we didn't spot it. We also saw a trumpet fish and 2 octopi.
This was an incredible experience! Cody was my instructor and was very knowledgeable! Being able to do 2 dives was awesome since we saw different wildlife on each dive. He knew the area well and I felt safe the whole time. Definitely got my moneys worth! Saw a massive school of bait fish and a large barracuda! Plus several turtles. Kōloa landing is a great spot with lots of wildlife, fish and corals to look at. 10/10 will go again!
Cody was an excellent instructor and an overall awesome person to work with. It was a bit stressful at first, but he walked my wife and I through very carefully which made it all that much better once we took the plunge. One of the most exciting and memorable things we've done in our lives. 10/10 recommend. Thanks Cody
Couldn’t go . Ends up we have high blood pressure and hyper cholesterol , both controlled but no one told us we needed remission from our doctors to do this. It seems trip advisor went through viator . Awful , the people at the dive shop were great so not only did we loose our money but the dive instructor lost his pay too. I think I am. Done with trip advisor and viator two.
Well I wish I could tell you something great about this adventure, but I wouldn't know because we never made it. They send tlla medical release the day before. NOTE: well after the 24-hour refundable cancelation period has passed. If you are over 45, on meds, and a few other things you have to have a physician's release, which would be easy to get if they sent they form when booked - 3 weeks ago. BUT dont worry, they have a doctor you can call and pay another $200 that will release you over the phone! So here is my issue with that: you can't take my word that I'm a healthy 55 YO, but if I pay your doctor $200 send him my ID and give him my pulse he can tell you that I'm healthy enough for this excursion! How can that be when he has never even seen me? Furthermore, how is that even legal or actually safe? So, if you are over 45 and are looking forward to this adventure, like we were, reach out in advance so you can get an actual medical release and enjoy yourself, instead of being stressed out and pressured to use their doc-in-box, which we did not do, because as stated above it doesn't sound ethically sound. AND now we're out the full amount of the excursion and have a bad taste for this group!
was a really great experience! I felt comfortable the entire time and I really don’t like being underwater😂 we got to swim with sea turtles and some really great fish highly recommend my kids are a 13 and 16 and did great! I’m almost 50 and I also did great😂😂
This experience is so fun! Highly recommended! We get to see so many fish, and sea turtles! it’s so pretty down in the water, super impressive!! Coach Cody is incredibly nice. My friends and I were a bit nervous because it was our very first time going deep into the water. Everything went smoothly under Coach Cody’s guidance, he is always patient, kind, and supportive! He is always there when we have questions or needs help! We all love him! Guys this experience is awesome! You guys should come try it!! Huge W for Coach Cody!
Family of 3 adults, first time divers had an amazing time. Totally doable, Sean was a great instructor. Saw turtles, octopi, eels. Great intro to scuba. Recommend for all.
The instructor was very professional, extremely helpful, most patient, and safety of divers were the first priority at all times. My husband and I had no prior scuba diving experience. We practiced safety skills the first hour and the second hour we were exploring the underwater world. We saw some turtles, lots of different species of fish, and coral. I definitely recommend to others who are looking to a new experience.
Absolutely fantastic. We're not certified but have done a few discover dives in different places. This was the best. Capt Jordan, Sean, and especially our instructor, Thomas, were superb. Couldn't recommend enough, everyone, even in the shop, were just awesome people.
A great introduction. I would trust this shop for additional adventures too. "Thomas Tommy Tom" was a great guide in somewhat challenging circumstances. My wife and I are experienced divers, and certified, but we hadn't been on a dive for 17 years. Being able to help guide our son and nephew (12 and 15 yo) as complete newbies and ourselves as experienced but "wow, it's been a while" divers simultaneously required a little finesse. Thomas Tommy Tom made it look easy. If we dive here off Kauai again we'll use this shop.
This tour company was great with our son, who is 16. It was his first time diving and he’s hooked! They were patient, professional and recommended ways to get certified.
Our group of 7 all enjoyed the scuba experience. Carlos and Dina were great indeed was especially patient with our 14-year-old who had some panic at first. She was able to work with her one-on-one and help her have the full experience when it seems likely that she might not be able to do it.Thank you for treating us to a very memorable Christmas Eve experience!
First time diving. Awesome experience with Carlos as guide. Started with basic skills training then 2 tank afternoon dive. Saw fish, eels, turtles as well as whales and dolphins from the boat. Great staff. Tons of fun. Incredible way to spend a day.
This was DEFINITELY the highlight of my trip!! I did the discover dive, first we went out and our guide taught us how to do the basics, and then we went out and did the real dive. We were underwater for around 30 minutes, it was such a fun and new experience!! We saw beautiful fish and many sea turtles. Cody was also amazing ;) 🥰 Very knowledgeable & he made sure we were all safe and comfortable the whole time. Book it!
This was Amazing! Cody our guide was so nice and calm! Both kids learned a great deal and now look forward to scuba in the future! Saw sea turtles and a lot of marine life great time!
First time SCUBA diving and it went well. Cody was our instructor. He has a nice pace of teaching you every aspect of the equipment and signals used during the dive. The online tutorial required before you head out is easy and informative. Dive location is near Poipu Beach and it is a walk in dive vs diving off the boat. There was plenty of ocean life to see and plenty of time to see all the bay had to offer.
We had such a great time scuba diving with Seasport divers! Amaley was an awesome instructor!! Super friendly and was very patient with us as it was our first time scuba diving. We saw a ton of fish and coral and even some turtles! It was a really cool experience and I highly recommend to anyone who wants to try scuba diving
This was my best diving experience. My instructor was Joe and he was very patient, knowledgeable and made sure felt taken care of and had the best time. Thank you Joe!!!
I had the most AMAZING time scuba diving!! Carlos was our instructor and he was incredible!! He loves being an instructor therefore he was super enjoyable to be around and showed us incredible marine life under the water that only an experienced divers would know to look for!! I highly recommend diving with seaport divers!
John should not be teaching beginners. He did not explain things well, was condescending, and encouraged me to quit. He said I needed ocean snorkeling experience as a prerequisite, when the name of the activity literally says no experience necessary. The one thing I asked for was patience and patience is just not his personality. The class did not include pool training first. I signed up for an identical course in Maui with the exact same online training (that got canceled for weather) and they go in the pool first. How are you supposed to do a big exhale after you’ve been exhaling for several seconds without inhaling first? Explain that. He couldn’t. I spent a large chunk of my life savings on this trip for this activity specifically, just for a shortened class and a humiliating experience.
Excellent dive experience, was my grandson’s 1st ocean dive. Got to see lots of turtles & fish. Divemasters were excellent
Lead divers had us in the water quickly! Experienced a brief part of two reefs (2 dives). Great for learning the basics of scuba diving!
for our Honeymoon we went Scuba diving with our guide Amandly (wrong spelling) It was absolutely amazing! so was so helpful and patience with us newbies. She was a great guide
Had a great experience. Carlos walked 3 of us through the safety items, and then down we went for two dives. Each lasted 45 minutes and we saw a ton of stuff. Had a great time. Equipment worked great. Carlos pointed out things we would have never seen. He LOVES diving and it showed in how he took us exploring the undersea world. Will definitely look these guys up again. Would love to get certified and go to Niihau.
We! Love! Carlos! Bum ba dum bum bum bum bum bum! Went with my wife and we had a great view of the reef and saw a lot of fish. I would strongly recommend this trip if you’ve never scuba dived before because it’s a great way to get used to breathing underwater, and if it’s not for you you’re not out in deep water. We got a little over an hour of scuba time and went about 30 feet deep.
I made us very, very happy to scuba dive together as a family. Both my sons said it was the highlight of our vacation here in Kauai. Personally, I was very nervous and scared at the beginning. I told Anthony it was our first time ever and he was very patient, and made us feel super safe. He explained things as many times as we needed. Big thank you! I will give it to stars if I could ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Parking and check-in was easy with Jeff. Great dive shop too. Carlo’s was our guide, he is the man! So cool, like diving with a friend. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He showed us what we needed to know and off we went on our two tank dive. The spot was amazing with great visibility. He knew right where to go to see large schools of fish, turtles, and he had an eye to spot Octopus. We encountered at least 5. Seaport has great reviews for a reason. They are excellent.
So nice to be able to book this so easily. Andrew was a great teacher and both my 17 year old daughter and my Father in law felt so comfortable. In fact my daughter wants to do another dive on Tuesday.
If you’ve had cataract surgery or any surgery within the last 3 months, they will not let you dive. If you have high cholesterol, or heart problems, you will not be able to dive. Make sure you get all the waivers and forms that they require you to complete a week before you plan on diving or you will loose your money as we did because I did not get the forms and did not know of all the restrictions.
Carlos was experienced and helpful. He was a great teacher and helped us feel comfortable scuba diving with no prior experience.
We had a great shore dive with Carlos as our guide. Two of us had never dove before, while the other two were certified divers. Carlos made sure the beginners were safe on the first dive, and showed us how to improve our diving and breathing the second time down, while giving the experienced divers more space to explore. We saw plenty of sea life and by the end I felt much more comfortable underwater. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to try Scuba for the first time!
My husband and I did the discover scuba excursion since we haven't gotten around to getting certified and we had fun. Thomas did a great job keeping us safe during the trip and made sure we got the pictures we wanted with the turtles (at a safe distance). The only thing that would have made this excursion better is if we went out to a site from a boat like the other ones we have done at other places, getting out to the dive site from shore was a bit difficult but Thomas did a great job helping us!
We did a 2 tank dive from the shore at Koloa landing. The access in and out of the water was very easy, and the sites underwater were amazing. Our guide Carlos is a terrific and obviously well trained scuba guide who pointed out a lot of hidden life (eel, octopus, etc) that I would have missed if I had gone alone. The dive shop is very conveniently located near Koloa landing, and their prices are reasonable. I highly recommend using this dive shop if you have any interest at all in scuba while in Kauai.
Experience was awesome, Carlos was very friendly and was an excellent teacher and guide, very informative and made sure we were safe 100% of the way. We loved every second and were so sad when it was time to leave. Not only would I dive (specifically asking for Carlos) again but I would only choose this shop for any future trips in Kauai. Once again experience was awesome its worth every penny and more and you should 100% book this if you have a chance!
Andrew took the best care of us from start to finish. He was friendly and knowledgable. Our one daughter had trouble with her ears clearing and he was so patient with her, allowing her to still enjoy the dive but comfortably. Highly recommend!
This was my husband and I’s first dive ever and we had a blast. It was an amazing experience seeing turtles, eels, many fish and an octopus. Carlos was great at instructing us newbies and making sure we were safe the entire time. Highly recommend!
Great instructor they get a great job 100% all the way through Would definitely recommend Thank you very much for the experience
Had no experience with scuba and was a little worried. Nevertheless felt comfortable with the teaching and loved my experience with my partner.
I’ve done lots of snorkeling over the years, and have seen lots of fish and other sea friends, but never tried scuba diving. Well, that changed yesterday, after this trip. Sea sport Divers (especially Justine) made it as easy as it could be - not effortless (diving takes some work, as it turns out!), but doable, even for a 61-year-old like me. At a depth of 40 feet, the water was so blue, and endless. Plenty of colorful fish - but also big, beautiful coral; fascinating rock formations; a great big eel cruising by; and - my spirit animal - several green sea turtles. So amazing. I think diving is a younger person’s sport, so if that’s you and you’re on the fence as to whether you should try it - yes, do try it! As for me, I’m taking it easy today…the usual aches and pains, of course, but also feeling nice & relaxed, and grateful that I was able to do this at least once in my life.
This was an absolutely transformative experience that shattered my diving anxieties! The PADI-certified instructor was incredibly supportive, turning my massive nerves into pure excitement. His patience and genuine care made my first dive not just manageable, but magical! Discovering an underwater world of hidden octopuses, playful sea turtles, vibrant fish, and mesmerizing marine life was nothing short of extraordinary.
I earned my scuba (Padi) certification thanks to the amazing team and instructor (Andrew) during my trip to Kauai. Thank you Andrew, Captain Jordan and the entire Seaport Divers team!!
We did the intro scuba diving with Corbin and it was amazing! He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, he even took pictures of us using his go pro. We had perfect conditions scuba diving, we will be back again!
For a first time diver, all I can say is “wow.” It was a great experience, and Brie was a fantastic instructor. I had some issues first with breathing naturally through the regulator and then with equalizing on the descent, but she was patient the entire time. Koloa Landing dive site is not the best in terms of visibility and variety of sea life, but it was more than adequate for a first timer like myself. We did get to see lots of fish, eels, and sea turtles! I experienced what I believe to be barotrauma following the dive (popping ears, mild sinus pressure, and lots of mucus and nose stuff with a bit of blood), but as of now, these seem to be subsiding with a nasal spray, lots of hydration, and a solid sleep overnight. My physical response is my own and not reflective of the dive itself, but it’s something to be aware of if you’ve never dived before.
